A beautiful restaurant, We were served by Wendy who was wonderful and attentive. The food was incredibly high quality and delicious. I thought we had ordered too much food but it was so good I couldn’t stop eating! Still took some home! I highly recommend this restaurant!

This is not my first time here. I recommend rake chicken feet and duck blood, a must-eat for Sichuanese! You can't go wrong with any other dishes. The service is given four stars because I'm afraid you'll be too proud.

Happy anniversary, great food! There seems to be a really good vegetarian offering. I'm not strictly veggie, so would have to check if the soup is vegetarian, but there are mushroom platters, a variety of noodles and lots and lots of tofu options for veggies! Would definitely go again, the staff were great!

One of the best hot pots you can find in Birmingham. We came here on a weekend and ordered a two-sided hotpot, one spicy and one normal. Got greeted and seated by a friendly staff. Food was large portions and nice with reasonable prices compared to other places. Recommend to try

Wandered in off the street as a stranger to Bham on a Saturday night expecting a standard Chinese restaurant and had a great time sharing a new eating experience... Never heard of hotpot before so it all took a bit of time working out the menu and what to do...think of it as Chinese fondue ;) Bit of a language barrier but the staff were lovely and did their best to help us order the right amount and taste combo. Easy to overorder so don't go mad as portions are decent. Great night out!

The ambience of this restaurant was really good, the food was mind- blowing, the dip that she made for us made every food better there. The lady who took our order really helped us with almost everything, others were sweet too. Their service was really fast. We were clueless what to order and the staffs were really helpful with it. We told her what we don’t want to eat(dietary restrictions) and she helped us to make our order. There was that typical Chinese ambience with some light soothing music and it was a great plus point. We do love spicy food and were a bit nervous here but hands down they didn’t fail to impress us. Not noisy at all and very helpful staffs. My friend left her scarf behind by mistake and lady from there came outside running with it. That felt really sweet. Can’t wait to visit them again. The drink that I’ve shown you here in the picture was lychee flavoured, didn’t feel great in the beginning to be honest but when we drank it after having few spicy food, oh boy that drink felt like heaven. It actually cut down the rich after taste flavours of the schizuan pepper or maybe created the balance of taste on the buds. Absolutely loved it. I forgot to ask their names so I could write them here and appreciate them, but there were 3 girls and all cool with their jobs( everything on the point). I didn’t take much photos of the ambience but trust me this place will look much better with your eyes and feel much better in your experience. Definitely recommend!!

While the food was okay at best, the service was absolutely terrible. Reserved a table, for 5 people(the first table the provided for us had a dead spider on it) and we all sat at the smallest table, with one of my friends being given a stool to sit on, in addition to this it was a friends birth we was celebrating and they did not clear the table for us after telling them twice so we could cut the cake. It was absolutely terrible service, all of the other customers got treated better than us. I would not recommend going here at all.

Really relaxed lovely time here for my partner's birthday. Staff were friendly and let us take our time. Very intimate Venu and the food was amazing!

Food great, staff are a bit strange, not welcoming at all. Water served in old plastic jugs that really need replacing. Atmosphere could be improved with a different layout and adequate fan to take the cooking smells out- you will go home with all clothes and skin smelling of soup.

I wanna preface this by saying that I don’t know much about hotpot so maybe we contributed to the less than stellar experience we had. When we arrived the staff seemed confused that we were there and due to the language barrier it took a while for them to understand that we had made a booking. They were even checking that we had the right place which made me question myself. It’s a small restaurant so be prepared to try and manoeuvre yourself into a seat. We sat down and ordered from the set menu because we didn’t feel knowledgeable enough to pick and choose our own stuff. All the ingredients came out fresh and beautifully displayed. One side of the pot had a spicy soup base and the other had a mild one. Now I can handle spice but the spicy side was so hot that it made my head feel as if it was being squeezed. Were we supposed to remove the chillis? There was like 20 of them. I don’t know but we couldn’t eat anything from that side. We asked for tap water and we were served in dirty glasses. In fact, I’m not even sure it was water in mine as it was fizzing a little. I’m extremely disappointed because I had high hopes for the place.

I’m not one to give such low stars. Sadly, I don’t think this place is any good for muslim people. After a video review it stated halal option but only had 2 meats that was halal. Anyhow, we ordered the seafood hotpot and was hoping for the staff to explain how the concept works but didn’t seem to want to. The place only had 2 other tables to attend to. The food was very bland and was expecting a lot more. Maybe it’s just not my type of food. It was little expensive too for what we got. Overall a underwhelming experience

Good hotpot and for me better than the Haidilao hotpot at the bullring in terms of flavour. Small place, so can get busy.

Love this place that does traditional Chengdu (spicy) hotpot. We asked for a mild one and the waitress kept coming over to check if that was too spicy for us. The beef was of good quality. Soup base was great. I will definitely go again.

Nice hotpot place. They have a good selection of fish, seafood, and meats. The broth was nice with a rich spiciness. Maybe the service could be a bit faster, but apart from that it's a good place.

Nice authentic hotpot with some variety of choice and great food. Staff were nice and food arrived quickly. The fish maw and chicken soup was especially rich and delicious. Prices were generally expensive but it’s worth it once in a while.

Absolutely fantastic. We felt as if we were in China. An unforgettable experience. The Chinese hosts were very kind and polite. One of the best culinary experiences of my life.

A mixed bag for us. The quality of the raw ingredients was really high, which I'd expect for the relatively high price at this place. We paid £30 each including 1 soft drink. The overall experience was good: helpful staff, OK decor, easy to order, and quick service. Top tip: Avoid the soup bases that mention chilli unless you're a serious chilli-head. We were in Thailand the week before and this food had more chilli than anything there. Of the 12 or so dishes we had, two dishes and one of the soup bases were ruined with far too much chilli. Matter of taste of course, but I'm pretty adventurous. The most disappointing thing was the drinks. If I'm charged £2.60 for a can of coke, I expect it to be cold, served with ice, a glass, and a straw, not just a room temperature can plonked on the table. Similarly, tap water was room temperature, no ice. At this price, I expected better drinks. Overall, pretty good but could have been so much better with a few easy tweaks.

Our favourite hotpot spot! We had our first date here and have been back since and loved it each time. Great quality food for the price, attentive staff who make sure your hotpot is going well, preparing specific foods for you, and ensuring you have what you need. Great atmosphere and very authentic experience.

Went here for a birthday, awesome communal dining experience. Our first time trying hotpot, went for the beef package option which was a good size for 3 people possibly even 4 depending on your appetite. Spicy broth definitely had a kick! Staff were lovely & food tasty. Would recommend if you want a fun culinary experience.

It was yesterday my fourth time to come and eat at this restaurant and every time I bring new friends from different cultures. However yesterday I felt myself not welcomed at all . I went to this restaurant with my female friend and our two babies so I asked one of the staff a table for two but the man asked me do you know where you are ?!! What are you doing here ? This is a Hot pot restaurant?? I’ve smiled and I said yes I know it’s hotpot restaurant and this is my fourth time here .He didn’t give us a table and needed myself to find seats for us , I’ve tried to ignore his attitude and enjoy the food that I like but I was really annoyed and felt not welcomed. I don’t know why this one of the staff ( he was an old man ) didn’t want us to eat at their restaurant?!! Is it because I am middle eastern person and my friend is Pakistani!! I’ve came twice with my white husband and the treatment was completely nice and different. I don’t know if I will come to this place again..it’s too sad for me and disappointed to not come again.

This is the best and spiciest hotpot you can have in the U.K.. Their first branch is this one in Birmingham which is indeed more delicious than their branch in London.

Food here is very nice, a great experience for people who haven't tried hot pot. We have hot pot at hot home but the experience here is different.

Absolutely disgusted with the actions of this place. There is another hotpot restaurant on the same road which caters for halal dietary needs. When I asked if I was in the right place they lied and told me I was. You can imagine my horror after eating and realising this. Admittedly it’s my own stupidity for not checking further, but as a restaurant you should be held accountable for lying to customers for a profit. Imagine the outrage if a place told customers it’s vegan friendly only to find out it’s not. If they’re willing to go as low as this, then imagine what other corners they’re cutting with your food. Avoid this place and their lowlife staff.

The service was very prompt, and the waiter was very helpful in helping us choose the base hotpot and explaining all the flavours. Hot pot style of cooking and eating is a very interesting but personally it wasn’t for us. For the price you pay it’s rather expensive. £60+ for two. Especially since you have to cook the meat and vegetables yourself. Having to pay extra to use salad and sauce bar is a little bit cheeky. If you’re looking for a quick and easy meal option, this isn’t the place as the cooking process takes awhile and the food is constantly piping hot. This type of place is more suited for those who have endless hours to spend eating and chatting away. Make good use of paying in cash. You get a 20% discount.

Good hotpot with options for vegans. The overall experience is great, though due to lack of air conditioning or ventilation they open the door to let the steam out, which can make it cold if you are sat at one of the two tables near the door.

I ate a few hot pots in my life but with my hand on my heart I must agree that this hot pot was the best 💗 the quality of the products is first class, the service was top notch. I really recommend

It was our first time visiting this restaurant and my first hot pot experience and it was incredible! Very clean and tidy, the service was amazing, they were very understanding and took the time to explain everything to us in English (thank you for your patience!). The service was so fast and the staff came over to top up our soup multiple times and made sure everything was perfect. We decided on the set meal which was for 2-3 people (the staff let us change the soup flavour) and the quality and amount of food we received were beyond generous! We were very impressed for our first time at this restaurant, will definitely be coming back! Especially thank you to the gentleman with blue hair and the young lady with the pretty makeup your recommendations were the best! :)

It is very not recommended. Before taking a seat, they said that there is no charge for children, and the child is only 1 year old, but when we added dishes for the fourth time (only 5 dishes can be added in each round, and the amount is not too much), the waiter suddenly came to us. It is said that 1-year-old children will also be charged, and the children only eat a little sausage. Very infuriating. If you say it before you take a seat, you can think it's okay, but you come over and tell us that you need to charge us in the middle, it's like robbing. There was also a hair in the last round of the dishes. After telling the waiter, he just said that he would ask the kitchen, but in the end it was nothing, not even a simple apology. The service and hygiene are also poor, will not visit again.

Great spot for a dinner with friends or family. The ordering process was made super easy, to make sure we got exactly what we wanted with a check box system. Staff were incredibly nice and attentive, making sure our hot pot was always topped up. A delicious and fun experience.

We were walking around and the beautiful smell of the food from this restaurant made it impossible for us to walk past without trying. The staff were very friendly and patient with us as this was our first time trying hotpot. They were happy to make recommendations and ensure we enjoyed our time there. The food was fresh and tasty, we could have happily spent the whole night there but had to leave to go to a concert. Will definitely be back, have told all our family how amazing it was and are already planning our next trip. Thoroughly recommend

Amazing food and friendly service

The usher was so rude. We booked a table a day before and she told me there’s only 1 hour, I understand there’s a high demand so I said it’s okay. On the day I arrived on time and she didn’t remember my reservation and started to push us after we seated down. Right after we paid the bill she asked us to leave as soon as possible, saying that there’re other customers complain to her about the waiting time. At that time it was exactly 1 hour after we arrived. I just feel like we haven’t paid and we are so not welcomed!!!!!!! We have to rush during the whole time but we made the reservation one day before! If you guys can’t make it then don’t accept the reservation for us! We are so angry at her attitude and will NEVER come back again, even though other staffs and food were okay. I will neither recommend this restaurant to any of my friends or family members. The worst service I’ve ever had. So disappointed.

Another great evening at the XIONGQI Hotpot (the lady even remembered us from our last visit). For the hotpot go half 'n half, that way you get the best of both - spicy and not. Don't over order as you can always order more - you fill up quicker than you think! Let the team mix up your sauce bowl and you're guaranteed to have a fast, tasty, nutritious, fresh, hot meal! Can't wait to go back!

One of the best hot pots i've had but a little on the pricey side. We were a group of 8 and spent about £16 each. The waiting staff were very friendly and were chatting to us during our meal. They have a wide array of sauces and spices to compliment your hot pot and all of the meat/vegetables we ordered were fresh.

It is a more authentic Sichuan hot pot. As a Chinese, I think it's very good.[哈哈] The price is less expensive. But it's still delicious. We can go next time. Personally, I prefer frog's legs. Duck blood, tiger king prawns[花心][花心][花心]

Having hotpot with my family (a family with 4 from Manchester) last evening. Nice food, excellent service, sit comfortably.

This is our usual little hot spot. Absolutely love it every time. We always get the tomato flavour because we cannot handle the spices in the other version. Definitely recommend the seafood options and the mixed meat combo and the salad platter is a given, gotta get some greens. Fast service! Nice and friendly staff. definitely the best hot pot in Birmingham! Always a must visit.
