Xing Fu in Eastbourne

Went last Saturday evening. Only been once before for lunch. Totally different atmosphere. Food was lovely & nicely presented , staff were attentive . Will definitely go again. I'd advise booking as all tables seemed to be reserved.

Very welcoming and friendly staff was the first thing to jump out at us as we entered the restaurant. The interior is very well done and feels very genuine and classy. Both our dishes were tasty and well presented. Crispy duck particularly good. Not your average Chinese but still low prices. What a great find!

Best Chinese restaurant in Eastbourne by a long way. Food is excellent; well cooked from fresh ingredients. All served by extremely friendly staff. Not the cheapest night out but worth every penny. Recommend trying the lunch menu. Extensive choice and cooked to the same standards. Give it a go, you won't regret it.

I’ve been a long time customer of Xing Fu and every time I visit/order, they’re always so lovely and helpful. The food is wonderful and the portions are great. The Char Siu Pork Buns are sooo good I tell everyone about them haha! Deffo worth a visit if you’re in the area xx

What a perfect meal to celebrate my husband's 85th birthday. We enjoyed duck pancakes, sizzling beef and prawns, plus special fried rice. It was all beautifully served and enjoyed with relish. Thank you

Booked for Midday on Saturday for my Dads 80th Birthday for 7 people. Service was warm and welcoming and waitress answered all our questions. Food was quick to arrive and very fresh. Duck is awesome. All our party enjoyed the Food and service. Look forward to coming back.

Dined in very disappointed, staff were very friendly but the menu was very miss leading, the set menu's were set down as the price for one Pearson but my daughter was told you have a minimum of two, so why set it out as that when you can't get it, when ordering my daughter said to the waitress that she only wanted it if that was the price it was going to be I think the price was something like £ 26 which then became 54 pounds something and so many pence, we ordered off the main menu and the take away one. There were ten of us it was for my grandsons 18th birthday the food was very salty and the staff keep asking if we wanted any more drinks they did bring us jugs of water as we did not want to order any more fizzy drinks for the adults the young ones did have some more fizzy drinks when we received the bill my daughter found out that they were then charging double the amount on the set menu, we were all sharing, which she had stipulated too the waitress we only wanted it if the price was the same as that in the menu for one pearson and then they gave us two of things we had ordered dispite saying we only wanted what was on the main menu and at that price, we found it all very confusing and did not expect a bill of 320 pounds for the food we had revived, please make sure you see the price and remember the price they print in it is not what you are ordering,, as like I said why have a meal marked up as a price for one Pearson when you can't order it as it has to be a minimum of two people.

Had a takeaway from here New Year’s Eve spent £53 on various items all very clean presentable tasted ok could of done with a bit more flavour to everything a little bland and the chicken in the curry & chicken mushrooms seemed to be the little bits knotty ends rather than nice cut pieces but not bad

Not enough servers for the number of diners/ tables. Tinned mushrooms & cold prawn crackers are a no no.

Poor quality food. Ordered crispy duck and had 6 pancakes but not enough duck. The duck arrived all chopped up and not shredded fresh off the bone. Definitely wasn't a quarter of duck! Not good value for money and won't be returning. Sorry.

Authentic Thai Restaurant that delivered a high standard of food and service. This will certainly be a regular for us.

I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend and since then I know that I have found the place to go for my stir fries and other Chinese cuisine dishes. The food is well prepared, the taste is amazing and the service is great too. I really recommend it.

Absolutely superb. Great hosts that are extremely welcoming and friendly. The food once you have managed to decide from the extensive menu is probably the best I have had in a long time. As a party of four we all tried each others and all came to the same conclusion. Excellent. We look forward to returning and trying some of the other dishes.

We have recently moved to Meads and we are enjoying being able to eat locally and within walking distance. We had a fantastic meal Saturday night. Our friends that joined us said it was one of the best Chinese meals they had had in a long while and we agree. Lobster soup, crispy duck and chicken noodles were all tasty and the toffee banana was amazing. Luckily we had to walk home after ! Much needed after a lovely meal.

What a lovely find! We visited on a Tuesday evening and were welcomed with a happy smiling face. The lady (owner) who served us was lovely throughout our time at Xing Fu and was attentive without being overbearing. The food was served in good time, not too quickly where it could have been prepared but not so long that you were wondering where your order had got to. The food was lovely and well presented to the table. The final bill was also reasonable and all in all I would be very happy to visit again or recommend to a friend.

In my opinion, this is the best Chinese restaurant in Eastbourne. The food at Xing Fu has never disappointed me or my wife, who is Chinese

Pretty good, tasted fresh, came quick, food was hot. Veggies had a nice crunch, nice big prawns. Could have done with a bit more sauce for the chicken balls and the chowmein/food as a whole was a little bland. Could have done with some spice.

At last, a Chinese restaurant that I enjoy going to! We've been going to Thai restaurants as they seem to be much better than the local Chinese. Every dish was unique and beautifully presented. The staff efficient but friendly. It gets very busy, so book in advance.

Highly recommend this place. We came here for dinner and the food exceeded our expectations. There was a delay between courses but we put this down to being NYE and the lovely staff were apologetic and provided us with complimentary drinks. We will be back again. Had a wonderful family and friends get together. First for a long time and well overdue! The food was really nice and the atmosphere was great.

I had to go home and cook myself afterwards. I do appreciate that it’s a bit less food for lunch but for 9 pounds lunch in a Chinese restaurant for one main, I did not think I would get such an incredible small portion?! Even my baby eats more than what I received as a portion on my plate. I was very lucky that I got some free prawn crackers before! Even when the waitress asked me if everything is ok, I said: ‘ no, this is probably the smallest portion I have ever seen’, she only exclaimed: 'Bless!' Why ask then if they don’t care about costumer satisfaction anyway?! I am gutted that I did not take a picture as the portion was probably as big as my fist and I have a fist size xs. I contemplated about leaving this review but I really hope this is not going to happen in future with other customers as I had to go home afterwards to cook myself which I did not even had to do in Michelin starred restaurants I visited in the past.

There are not many places left where you can still get great value for money, but this is one of them. Comfortable and good service. If you're not too hungry, why not try the set lunch?

Lovely local Chinese in Eastbourne me and my husband came across whilst visiting the area. Highly recommend. We had a lovely platter with the best sea weed I've tasted. Ever. The waitress was clearly very busy but it did not take away from the great customer service. Very attentive. Drinks were prompt and the food was delicious. Me and my husband both left very satisfied and full tummies. Thank you Xing Fu, we will be visiting again one day. Best Chinese we have ever had. 5 star 🌟

We have tried lots of Chinese takeaways. For us this is by far the best. The ingredients are fresh and of a good quality. It may cost a little more than some takeaways but the difference is noticeable when you taste the food. Exceptional.

It is always busy for a reason! Best Chinese food I have eaten - delicious and cannot wait to go back! The lady serving us was a genuinely warm, welcoming and lovely person and the young lad who seemed like he was in training was doing a brilliant job! This restaurant has a wonderful ambience and the most delectable, fresh tasting food I have ever tasted from a Chinese restaurant. I hope they continue to be successful and stay in the Meads in their super restaurant for a long time to come!

Had a take out from this place today was really good they cooked it quick and was very reasonably priced.

Nice foods and very friendly services. If you want to eat in, better book your table before as very busy there.

Really really good food, beautifully cooked, beautifully presented, the manageress was absolutely lovely, made a right fuss over our baby, we took mum and dad for dads birthday and he said it was one of the best chinese restaurants hes eaten in, and trust me that man has scoffed chinese around the globe. Very tasteless no heat for chilli dishes, especially chilli beef and everything else was cooked fine but as bland as hell. Won't be ordering again.

Pretty average, but did the job. The restaurant looked really lovely, but we got a basic take away. Chow Mein seemed very plain and unauthentic. Salt and peppered food was very very salty. Otherwise the food had a nice flavour. Will need to try some other dishes, but this was my intial impression.

Very poor customer service. Below average food. We decided to order a takeaway for the first time this January. We waited 2 hours after making our order but still no food so my partner phoned them up. We were told that the food had been delivered however when we checked the delivery address we realised that our food had been delivered to the wrong address. The lady then spoke to her son who took the order and he insisted that we had given him our neighbours address. This led to a debate with my partner saying “Why would we give you a different address ? We do know where we live ! “ We asked for a refund and this was declined we were told that they would bring some more food. We asked for some free prawn crackers as compensation which was agreed. The food arrived about 40 mins later we were quite hungry by this stage because we had waited almost 3 hours, when the food arrived there was no prawn crackers ! So out of principle we asked them to go back and get them. All in all the food quality was below average, the service was terrible and we won’t be making any further orders.

Not impressed....have been here numerous times as i live very close and want to support however don’t think I will bother again. I have had about 4 take aways from here and every time something has been wrong. Usually something is missing from the order...once they gave me someone else’s order and on New Years Eve my daughter had to wait inside for over an hour even though we had preordered two days earlier! And there is never an apology. Portions are always too small although I cannot complain about the quality of the food. Once we visited when there was the 10 pm curfew....we waited for 2 hours for the food and it arrived we had 10 minutes to eat it before we were kicked out!I would never usually put a review like this as I really want to support my locals however they need to sort this out as it’s not fair to the customer.

Some time ago we visited with friends and experienced a poor meal etc. Since then heard and seen good reports so decided to give them another chance. We ordered a takeaway to celebrate the new year which, unfortunately mirrored our previous experience. The prawn crackers were lovely but the rest of the meal was so bland, unseasoned and totally tasteless/watery. We certainly will not be frequenting this place again.

Me and my husband visited last weekend while we were having a weekend away, and it was the best Chinese we’ve had for a long time! The duck especially was amazing! Friendly and welcoming, it wasn’t busy so service was also spot on. Really nice meal, highly recommend!

I ordered last Sunday 29th Nov, for the first time and the food was excellent, without doubt the best Chinese food I have ever had. The chicken balls were perfect, not oily and filled with chicken, and the rest of the food was really scrumptious. Our meal was definately cooked by someone who is very passionate about food and now only hope its like this every time I order.

First time out for a meal since February, and xing fu is just the same as before, lovely food and the staff are always welcoming and friendly, would recommend it to anyone.

A wonderful place to eat with great food and friendly staff. A good mix of authentic Chinese food from the north and south of the country, always fresh and well cooked. I always enjoy both takeaway or eat in. One of the best in dealing with COVID I have seen. I am very impressed with the levels of cleanliness and attention to details shown by the staff. If I could give more stars I would!

Take-away. Excellent customer service over the phone. Arrived and covid-19 precautions in place. Ready on time. Got home and wow, great great food. Highly recommend.

Amazing food, really good service too

The staff went out of their way to make you feel safe and virus free. The food was delicious, fresh and well presented. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, seabass was a good size, chilli beef was crispy with a really tasty sauce and the kung po chicken was mouth watering. A lovely evening out.
