Really expensive and boring night out for £30 per person (apart from the company). Welcome drink was basically a Prosecco shot watered with elderflower cordial. Food brought to our table that would have been enough to feed a toddler, no choice of food! We were supposed to have had a help yourself buffet but no sign of that. No atmosphere for a party, quiet music and singer was average.

Their winter afternoon tea is one to remember. My friends and I have been two years in a row and we will definitely be back next year. Such good value for money and I love that you can order a proper coffee (I chose a flat white) which is included in the reasonable price of £22. The food is unique to an afternoon tea deal and the soup is always delicious. We always end up taking food home, which is a bonus.

wow the response to this post is very telling. wishing you peace and karma too what goes around comes around indeed. The decoration was beautiful I love flowers so I fell in love once I got inside, the staff at entrance was fairly decent offered me a drink whilst waiting for the pot throwing class & Tile Making Taster Class on the 20/7/23. Once the class started there was a girl giving me a death stare and picking on me with her family I tried to ignore because I don’t interact with insecure sad bullies. It was hard to ignore as other people joined in their subtle acts of micro aggression including the lady leading the class. Especially the lady leading the class she took it too far….( I don’t know if there are more than one teacher so the one I’m talking about I don’t know her name but she has short wavy curls pointy nose and fairly tall) The lady leading the class throughout the session she was giving me this death stare again I ignored because I was really looking forward to the class as it was my first time pot throwing. Upon reflection I should have walked out and asked for refund when she was passing the clay and got to me and literally threw my clay aggressively on the table and when I was making the clay with her she told me to put my hand at the bottom of the spinner thing whilst it was still spinning and press hard. It was my first time so I did as she instructed ( I was already nervous and felt uncomfortable by the girl and her family picking on me). Anyway I pressed down and I felt a pressure it was a little painful so I said ouch and the lady was laughing and smirking whilst looking at the same family for approval or something like that. After that I kinda stopped listening to her directly if she asked me to do something I would take a sec to think about before continuing. I don’t know why I didn’t just get up and leave or even record it I just froze. Well we live and we learn next time if it happens I am packing and my bags and asking for a refund and go to other vendor ……. By stander effect is crazy the way people allow hate and bullying to spread and would actively join in for what to be part of a group. Although there was a young girl and her family they were kinda nice in terms of they noticed what was going on and didn’t join in unlike the rest. I don’t really feel comfortable going back if they can hire someone so wicked and malicious……. I didn’t try the food so I’m giving it a 5star I’m sure it’s great the drink was good. Atmosphere a 4 because the decorations was lovely, atmosphere in terms of what I went through that would be a 0. I was debating whether to write a review or not and I decided to because it’s not okay to treat people like that, a paying customer ( paying or not it’s just not okay). I still think about it every now and I guess this review is my way of letting go.

I really love the idea of having a mellow place to hang out have a meal or a cup of coffee and do some pottery painting. Love the vegetarian food, the coffee great, staff is awesome It really was fun, but as an person who's painted pottery in many different venues over the years, I find their raw ware very expensive. It was £12 for a 2 1/2 inch tall ornament, £2 for firing fee. I have never paid moree than £5 for a similar item and I feel £7 would have been much more appropriate, including firing fee. This could be such a wonderful family activity but there is no way that you could afford to bring your children. Three people, three lunches and a coffee would put you in the £60-75 range. This is not London, tho I've painted there as well for much less. I would probably come in every week and do a little something if it were cheaper. In these lean times, a little inexpensive joyful activity goes a long way.

My experience here was pretty awful. I'd booked a messy play session for my 2 toddlers. When I turned up there seemed to be no staff about. We took a seat for 10mins then i even stood at the till but no one came. I ended up helping myself to some pottery and paints as the kids were wondering what was going on (as was I). None of us got a drink. Someone eventually appeared but it was only because I asked another customer if I could follow her to the messy play session (which was downstairs). This started almost 30mins late. I then went to pay for 2 ghosts that my children had painted to find that it cost me £40! I was in shock. I couldn't believe how expensive it was. It was a really disappointing experience there. I could tell even my children were a bit confused why we couldn't seem to get a drink or anything.

I stop in for lunch most days throughout the week. Their salad boxes are a great idea for on-the-go sort of days and a very good price, considering the list of ingredients required in each of the salads. Clearly a hardworking team offering food, drink and activities to a wide variety of adults and children.

I had heard a lot of good things about The Art House so was curious to try it out and paint some bits with my family. I was shocked by the lack of customer service. No eye contact and just seemed like we were an inconvenience. No-one explained what to do even though I was told someone would go through it when drinks were bought over (luckily I knew what to do as had done this elsewhere). No prices listed anywhere and almost fainted when I paid our total of £80 for 3 small pieces. One member of staff saw my 2 year old, husband and myself waiting to pay up and ignored us completely. When we were served the woman made more of a fuss about her cold than anything else. The actual finished product is most definitely not worth the money.

Been to the art house a couple of times now as I’m vegetarian and have looked to find somewhere I can get a healthy and tasty lunch everyday. I’ve had the food a few times and it is nice, however half of the food they have on the menu is no longer available and the person on the counter has been really unwelcoming each time. It’s made the both of us feel really uncomfortable going back again which is a shame.

I've been here several times before with friends and family. The food is delicious, with generous portions. I also think the dirty chai may just be the best I've ever had. Today though, the lady serving us (possible chef/owner?) went absolutely above and beyond. My son is autistic and was not happy when his food arrived with different foodstuffs touching on the place. To say he was impolite about it would be a massive understatement! Despite his response, the woman serving us remained calm, smiling and understanding throughout. She fetched us extra plates and made what could have been a terrible experience into a lovely one. Thank goodness there are people like this in the world. I can't recommend this place highly enough :)

I arrived on a rainy Monday morning with my toddler in tow, soaking wet. I got ‘can I help you?’ as if I’d interrupted something. It was surely obvious I’d come for coffee, shelter, and for something my toddler could do? I then got the usual ‘did you make a reservation?’ There were two customers in the shop. There was then a real sense of it being an inconvenience to squeeze us in, so we left. What are these places who front as a ‘community hub’ but are nothing of the sort. A real shame. I’m local, and I will be sure to share my thoughts on this unwelcoming, ponsy ‘local’ business.

Lovely place, good coffee and really friendly, helpful service. Lots of options on the menu, although we were a bit disappointed by the quesadillas, not much filling and I prefer them fried rather than grilled even if it's unhealthier -we'll try something else next time. Food here is always delicious and my colleagues and I often like to visit on our lunch break. I love how generous the portions of salad are and always such a variety of flavour and colours on your plate. I would say that service can be hit and miss though. There’s often only one or two members of staff trying to do it all, which impacts the time it takes to be served and when you are on a time limited break, it can have a negative impact. Sadly today there was only one member of staff and we had to leave as service was so delayed. It was such a shame to give somewhere else our custom but we didn’t have more than an hour for lunch. We will continue to come back though because the food is divine and just hope that service is quick enough.

We love the art house! Lucy organises so many amazing FREE classes for children and young people. No pressure to make a cafe purchase afterwards but if you do, the cakes are very yummy! I’ve been going along to the preschool music classes this term and my daughter loves them. The music teacher is really experienced and plays a variety of different songs from traditional to more unusual seasonally themed ones. Coming along to these classes gets us out of the house and meeting other parents, with no need to worry about being able to afford paying large fees at the start of the term. As a parent this has definitely made a difference to my mental health and it’s great seeing my daughter so engaged with the classes.

Despite giving a 5 star id like to say that it all felt a bit unethical. The poor cats were overstimulated and really wanted no human interface. Even the most chatty cats were just wanting some space. As a cat lover I really felt bad. The cats are surely well looked after but i ask, at what cost? The carrot cake was delicious! The only reason why I might go back, if at all.
