We booked a table for Mother’s Day afternoon tea at the garden centre for 7 of us. Staff were friendly and helpful. Manager also came and spoke to us to explain the new Tea. The kids afternoon tea was also wolfed down by the children. Food was lovely and plenty of it. They can provide boxes if you don’t finish it. Would definitely attend again.

My wife brought me here for a valentines treat to sample the vegan afternoon tea. We enjoyed every mouth full. The ‘sausage’ rolls were piping hot and the wrap was delicious. There was a selection of cakes which were excellent - especially the chocolate brownie. The staff were very friendly and helpful and were more than happy to let me have a soya latte rather than the filter coffee that was included in the offer. We’ll definitely be back.

Lunchtime. Sold out of fish so had ham eggs chips all of which were cold. Dessert of christmas pudding was rock hard and inedible. Complained to very apologetic young girl who refunded my bill without question. Feel sorry for staff as seem untrained . There were no staff on shop floor and many of the shelves were empty. Feels like nobody is in charge and everything is floundering. So sad to see this fine garden centre reduced to this. Come on Dobbies do something quickly. I know your other outlets are brilliant so what is wrong here.?

My daughter and I visited today with my 18 month old Granddaughter, we waited 50 minutes for our food and when it finally arrived the jacket potato was under cooked, it was very hard and inedible. I informed a staff member who said “Do you want me to microwave it?” I declined. Then whilst my Granddaughter was playing in the play area an unsupervised child aged 4/5 years old pushed her over, and tried to smack her, her parent was not around. Surely this area should be monitored by staff and children should not be left unattended. I will definitely not be coming back and will not recommend your facilities!.

Two of us ordered lunch. It arrived after a forty-five minute wait. My wife's roast turkey meal looked grim and as though it had been reheated. My wife said it was bland throughout and lacked a good portion of healthy vegetables as there were just three small sprouts and six small pieces of carrot; something any chef should have been ashamed to serve. I was glad I had ordered fish and chips as it was lovely. The unacceptably-long wait, though, led the experience to be disappointing. The Garden Centre itself looked far from being seasonally-festive and it all felt as though the whole place was in the process of 'moving house' or closing down!

Since Dobbies have taken over Wyevale it’s gone down hill massively. The prices are crazy expensive - £2.50 they charge for that tiny play area? It’s day light robbery. We asked for food off the main board and they had sold out of 90% of it. So many people moaning! It’s dreadful - avoid!

A quiet saturday afternoon In the cafe, that should have been my first warning. The second should have been the amount of uncleared plates left on tables where people had left. All we ordered were two coffees and a tuna on brown wrap. One coffee was iced and we were told that that would follow with the wrap. After enquiring where our order was after half an hour wait, we were told it would be 5 mins. It finally arrived having now waited 50 mins! The ‘wrap arrived’ on white bread by which time we’d lost the will to protest. Total disappointment.

arrived with grandson for breakfast he had been looking forward to treating me as was my birthday weekend very important to a 9 year old and have also had good service at Wilmslow very surprised to see how empty it was he ordered great british breakfast no tomato, after a reasonable wait it arrived, not what we ordered only half the bacon and sausage advertised, no black pudding or mushrooms but got half the tomato that we didnt want. When the young girl took the order at the till she asked her supervisor how to enter the order to be told to put it under traditional breakfast - which is £2 cheaper (how does that allow the till to balance). Informed the young man who brought the order and fair play he produced another rasher of bacon; went back to the counter explained the situation where another member said she had informed kitchen staff assuring me that it would be sorted, by this time losing the will to live and by the time we ate what we got and finished our drinks nothing had appeared. My grandson very upset that he didn't give me the treat he wanted. So so different to the service and atmosphere at Wilmslow garden centre

A waitress told me off for bringing a basket to the restaurant and then told off my 4 year old grandson for running. The soft play was closed. Very depressing.

I can only think that the positive reviews have been written by staff themselves . We went yesterday and this going to be our last time. The cafe was dirty ,with rubbish ib the floor and a lot of tables hadnt been cleared out .The young girls serving obnoxious and loud and obviously too busy to clean up tables . The hot chocolate that I was served was undrinkable and tasted of burnt coffee . We wanted a piece of cake but were told that they were all still frozen. My partner, myself and my Dad ate at the Cheltenham Wyevale Garden Centre today. Even though we really enjoy coming here to look around and see their resident cat, the restaurant really lets it down. The actual layout and decor of the cafe is really nice, but some of the staff are sullen and a couple walked past us at least 6 times whilst we were in the queue and there was only one poor girl trying to serve everyone. Onto the food ... my Dad had the roast which was unappealing to look at and not very tasty - see attached photo. Certainly not worth the money. I hope the cafe improves, because it is the only thing at this centre that needs changing.

Extremely well stocked garden centre with the emphasis on plants unlike some I have visited which are more like department stores. Had a good look round and bought quite a few plants. Decided to have coffee before leaving. The service was very pleasant. However, peace and relaxation were continually interrupted by a barking dog at a nearby table. This wasn't an assistance dog and while I appreciate that more places are becoming dog friendly, there are limits. The owner couldn't stop it from barking so perhaps she should have taken it outside. Failing that, perhaps a member of staff could have suggested that she leave to avoid disturbing other people.

We have seen vast improvement to Bridgemere since it was taken over by Wyevale about 15 yrs ago. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Staff are invariably friendly and helpful. Both cafes provide free iced water and lemon. The plants are supreme quality at decent prices. Customers are super polite. We visited the butchers every week. The quality of meat here is second to none. We will not hesitate to buy the beef and lamb here and pay a little bit more because the quality is the best in the world. It is very fresh, tender and full of flavour. The green grocers just outside are friendly with local produce which feels like it has literally just come out of the earth. A relaxing day out

We have now visited here 3 times and enjoyed every visit. The first visit was to use a soft play with my young son and the second was to get him a fish, have a coffee and use soft play. Yesterday we visited for a third time with his grandparents and ended up having an afternoon tea. It was for Valentine's Day and was 10 pounds for 2 (a real bargain for tea, sandwiches, cakes and scones!). We again used the soft play and went to see the fish. I really cannot fault this place based on cleanliness, customer service or value. Plus the soft play although small is never rammed. Definitely worth a visit! And a bonus our fish (Named Ghecko) is still going strong since just after Christmas.

My sister and I have been going to the Bolton centre for over 15 years, we travelled from Cheshire to visit our Mum. Since she passed away we go every year to get flowers to put on her grave and sit and reminisce in the cafe, which we have always found pleasant. Our latest visit to the cafe on Friday 5th January has left us never wanting to return again. It was 12.30 and the cafe was quiet, we ordered paninis, sorry we have run out but can do you a toastie. Well they have got to be the worst toasties ever !! Cheap thin sliced bread not much cheese which also wasn't mozzarella, but smothered in so much pesto it had to be scrapped off. The second one was worse with bacon that tasted of rancid cooking fat. This was served with a teaspoon of coleslaw and and a cherry tomato cut in half. Along with two coffees this cost us £18.35 and the receipt said paninis when we checked it later !! Absolute rip off never again!!

TripAdvisor rated this garden centre cafe 3 stars or average, and that proved to be an accurate assessment. On a sunny weekday afternoon, we headed here for a late lunch. There is a large carpark (which was almost full when we arrived, but emptied out by 3.30pm) and the garden centre and cafe are easily accessible straight off the carpark. On a warm day it was very stuffy inside, which meant we didn't spend as long shopping as we had planned - purchased some greetings cards but that was all. There are lots of cafe tables - in two different indoor spaces, one looking out over the outdoor garden centre areas, on a small decked area which is more like a corridor, and down some steps in amongst the outdoor plant sales area. We chose the latter - we were able to get one of the tables with a large sun umbrella, otherwise it would have been too hot in the sun. There are plantings along one side of these tables, which makes for a pleasant space. Several of the tables had not been cleared and we had to shift stuff away to use our table. The cafe is self-service and the staff behind the counter were pleasant. The sandwiches are made to order and came with a salad garnish. I was pleased to see that coronation chicken sandwiches were on offer. There was a reasonable choice of sweet offerings and a cabinet of cold drinks with a few food options for younger children. Prices are high so we didn't rate our meal as good value. Given the lack of options on this area, and the readily available parking outside, it is not surprising that quite a number of older people were eating here, and on a cooler day there would be the added bonus of being able to pick up a few gifts or other items from the large store area.

The afternoon tea was lovely, but couldn't help noticing the distinct lack of sandwiches compared to the photo both on the wall in the cafe and the one advertised on Groupon. The photo shows eight finger sandwiches, but you get only four. When asked, the waitress said it was an optical illusion as the pic showed them cut up smaller. Hmmmm, I'm not convinced. Had a few vouchers to spend so decided to treat mum to a bite to eat. Ordered, and I quote 'Classic BLT' I asked the lady for no onions or rocket. Sandwich came, no lettuce, but loaded with Rocket. I took it back to the restaurant and the Scottish man asked me what was wrong. I explained to him I didn't like Rocket. He then said that the lady had only written down no onions. The lady who took my order then came over and I asked her to confirm what I had said. She then said she didn't write "no rocket" because 'there is no rocket' The Scottish guy then told her 'Yes there is now, we have different types of packs' He then offered to do me another sandwich which I accepted. The second one came.. no Lettuce or Rocket, but this time Cress! I took it back again.I explained that I didn't like Cress either and he then said 'You said you didn't like Rocket, not Cress. Before, I was saving you the hassle of picking it out' What ??? At this point, I felt that further discussion was wasting both our time so I asked for a refund on the sandwich. He then said 'would you like another sandwich Madam?' The 'Madam' was forced. No thank you. Would you like a cake Madam? No thank you. He then shouts over to the lady on the till 'Give this woman her voucher back' talk about feeling uncomfortable. This man made me feel like I'd done something wrong. If it says Lettuce, it should be Lettuce. We used to go in here quite a lot, for a special treat. It was always a little more expensive than other places but the food was always top notch so I never questioned the price. Staff also failed to manage the queue and another couple pushed in whilst we were politely allowing the lady in front of us to put her purse away. I was left to challenge them as the staff were clearly oblivious. When the breakfast came both were wrong, it wasn't even close to what we ordered. When they came back a second time and still weren't right we gave up and agreed to just take what they had brought. Waitress also tried to remove our tea cups when we were still drinking. The restaurant was busy queued for about 15 minutes to be served, then queue again for a pot of tea, I had to ask for assistance to carry two trays. Very limited choice, we had fish, chips, peas and a pot of tea. The chips were awful, tasted like oven chips, the fish had more batter than fish. We had the only seats available in the far side of the restaurant, I had to go back to obtain vinegar. The cost was £20.40 for two, if it was free it would still be over priced the food was awful.Only good thing to say about the place, a very nice lady in the plant department helped me to find a wheel chair for my husband.

The place is absolutely wonderful but it is not acceptable in the 2017 that you cannot pay your coffee with a card as they do not accept card payments.Unbelievable :(

Had an afternoon tea for four (that we'd bought through Groupon). The food and service was good. The goods for sale are expensive, as with many garden centres. Wyevale caters in part for lots of older people. The reason for the one-star review is not aimed specifically at this particular centre. It's because the company insists on making people call an 0844 number when needing to contact one of their shops. 0844 numbers can be extremely expensive from mobiles and are not cheap from landlines either. It's disgusting that they are charging potentially elderly people so much for enquiries or to make bookings. I thought the era of these rip-off numbers was coming to an end but clearly not for Wyevale. Not satisfied with charging high prices for their goods, they'll get what they can this way.

I have visited the Bridgemere Wyevale a few times for the afternoon tea and have highly recommended it to friends and family. My mum went for a second time and was a bit disappointed as she said the sandwiches were pre made and not as fresh, the service was not up to its normal standards, it tainted the experience slightly. The cakes tasted great but the coffee was quite strong.

We went here for breakfast, and both decided to have the 'traditional breakfast' I had a cup of tea and my father had a latte. The time it took for the latte to be made and for us to pay meant that our breakfasts were almost cold by the time we reached a table to eat at. (I did notice afterward there were lids you could put on your food so I suggest people use these, although with only one person infront of us I really wouldn't have thought it would've taken the time it did so would perhaps have passed on using them at the time if I had have known sooner.)For what you get the breakfasts are expensive - 2 breakfast and 2 drinks was 15 pounds (1 small cup of beans, 1 piece of bacon, 1 hash brown, 1 fried egg, half tomato, 1 small sausage and some mushrooms) the bacon was well cooked, aswell as the egg and hash brown but the sausage I had was very underdone.A few tweaks cooking wise, and more generous portions would go a long way in my opinion. Then the price would feel more value for money. Plus toast would be good if it was included (this again could be ordered but at an extra cost)The surroundings are pleasant and I would try going here again incase I caught them on an off day today.

Can't recommend it. Toasties at £5.60(!!) each were disappointing. Bog-standard sliced bread. Served cold. The only positive was that the overpriced chips were hot. Sad thing is that they seem to think it's really good!

I went with friends on Friday 2/12/16 for lunch. Three of us ordered Fish and Chips with garden peas, one of us had Jacket potato with cheese and onion filler.Once you've paid for your order your given a number so that the cafe staff know which table to take the food to. The food soon arrived and it was hot, the batter on the fish is superbly light and very crispy, chips, proper chips not 'fries', our friends jacket potato was a properly cooked one, not from a microwave, again it was hot when brought to the table.I've seen some disappointing reviews of the food here but I can honestly say on the occasions I've eaten here with friends the food has been very good.

Me and my mum traveled 30miles to see the reindeers and small ponies with my toddler as we entered there were two small Shetland ponies which were lovely but soon to be very disappointed as the reindeers had already gone it was only half 2 in he afternoon and the garden center was still very busy but they had already let them go but when we looked on the web page the day before it didn't say they wouldn't be there in the afternoon. VERY VERY disappointed!!!

Having previously had a lovely afternoon tea we decided to try breakfast the following week. What a disappointment. My plate was swimming in black liquid from the sloppy mushrooms, I had to use several paper napkins to soak it up, yuck! The baked beans served in a silly little tea cup on the plate were cold.Although the quality of the food items on my breakfast plate was good, they were spoiled by the presentation. We returned the following weekend, believing that the unfortunate meal was a one off. Sorry to say the beans were cold yet again. I was going to complain at the time but once the meal is spoiled there seem little point in doing so. We ate what we could and left feeling very unhappy.

£4 for a slice lemon meringue pie is extortionate. Also stale scones with dried cream. We can well afford to pay those prices but refuse to be ripped off anymore. Get your act together Wyevale.

I purchased a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea for four but was unsure how it would compare to the full price version on offer. I needn't have worried, it was superb. Nice fresh sandwiches, beautiful scones with clotted cream and jam and a plate of pretty cakes topped off with really nice tea.The staff were lovely and very helpful, the surroundings clean, light and airy. Will be going at the weekend to try the breakfast. The garden centre is well worth a stroll around for gifts etc. What a great find.

Although we had printed out a voucher for a meal deal when we arrived in our local Wyevale we noticed a meal deal for the over 60's. So, if you are over 60 and visit between a Monday and a Thursday for £8.50 pp you get a hot meal, dessert and either a tea or coffee. My husband had the fish, chips and peas and said the fish was far superior to any served by local pubs in the area. The portions are very generous. I had a huge piece of chicken on a bed of mash with carrots, cabbage and cauliflower. Garlic mushrooms sat on top of the chicken. We both chose the upside down pineapple pudding for dessert. After consuming all of this we just needed a sleep pod for the afternoon! We both agreed it was excellent value for what we received which included a drink. The service was very friendly and we hope to repeat this before the offer is withdrawn. I don't usually give top marks for reviews but this far exceeded what I expected. The only downside was the run up to Christmas has begun and the shelves were being filled with seasonal goods. If you don't like the retail madness and silliness 3 months before the event then this may deter you from visiting.

Decided to come for lunch on the spare of the moment before shopping and whilst all the kids are at school. All of the tables in the play area was loaded up with dirty plates and cups and bottles and dirty tables. It is disgusting looking at it now. I asked the lady to clean the table when she brought my sons sandwich and she has literally just taken the dirty pots away, not even taken the dirty bottles away or wiped and cleaned the tables. Considering its children playing in here its disgusting and i will be telling them on the way out!!

Good atmosphere and pleasant staff! Old world themed cafe from local pits. Must say though, £2.30 for a toasted tea cake seemed a little over-priced, although it was enjoyable. Tea and coffee were both good.

Its nice to go and look around and get a few ideas from here. Its good for the kids to as they have things for them like a high top park and crazy golf to pass the time. It's just way overpriced, so I would just get idea's then purchase the items elsewhere.Good range of plants, summer houses, greenhouses, garden ornaments etc. They even have a WHsmith, Lakeland, Edinburgh woollen mill shop and ripples waterlife. There are quite a few cafe's to choose from to.Nice to pass a few hours.

Afternoon tea for 4 at Cheltenham.A truly filling tea with certainly more food than we could eat. As a vegetarian I had a choice of 3 fillings. The sandwiches were freshly made and the scones were lovely. This was a voucher with groupon and there was no skimping on food. The staff were attentive and helpful. We would certainly go again.

Everytime we visit Bridgemere; it always seems busy, which is a good sign. We had lunch in the main eating place. The floors were cleaned. The staff were well mannered. We both had the fish and chips and they were rather good. The garden centre has a wide selection of products, most of them were reasonably priced. In the end, there's not much wrong in Bridgemere.

Visit here quite often. On a day out, I bring my nanna here for a pot of tea and a toastie. We are never disappointed. It's brilliant here when the sun is shining as you can sit outside in the garden area with all the lovely plants. Otherwise we sit in the conservatory area as you can look outside over all the plants and trees. Afterwards we always go for a walk around the shop and buy a few things. Love coming here for lunch :-D

If I could have NO STARS I would do it Unacceptable! I came so many times, the toilets are ALWAYS closed. Today I asked just to change the baby, and the “manager” was “explaining” to me that I cannot. She gave a number of reasons but all of them were not true. NEVER again

Very bad service😡Ordered 2 cups of cappuccinos and it took more than 1/2 hour and weren’t delivered to us😡then I requested to cancel the order. The barista was careless and awkward. The waitress was stressed and she was the only one who served all customers. Awful experience and not recommended place to dine in or have simple cup of coffee

Ordered a drink and was given the wrong drink. Which is okay as mistakes can happen. Unfortunately as I went to go and ask to swap My drink. I was looked at and given a High school dirty look from a staff member called Caitlin. I have never since high school been given a childish look. Went to the counter and the lovely lady there said it was her mistake and my drink was made there. But the service and atmosphere was awful from Caitlin
