I visited your establishment and felt the need to contact about just how awful my experience was I waited half an hour for a burger and when it came it was the worst tasting meat I have ever had, it was very low quality that contained lots of hard balls of fat and sinew which caused me to have to spit it out I had complained to staff and they just stared back blankly and offered no resolution I’ve tried using your cafe multiple times where often it would be shut or over half your menu unavailable I am thoroughly disappointed and will not be recommending this to any of my peers

Went with three friends for lunch. Two of them had the wrong order put through so had to wait for refunds etc. Once that was sorted we were able to enjoy our lunch. I went back to order two lemon meringue pies with ice-cream. It took over five minutes and three members of staff to do the order and take the money. I went back to my seat. Ten minutes later no sign of our desserts. Went back to counter to query and was told they were on the way. Fifteen minutes after that I went back and cancelled and ask for a refund. Spoilt our day. Can't understand why 25 minutes for two slices of lemon meringue pie and two scoops of ice-cream. So, if you're in a hurry don't go there, I definitely won't be going back.

We chose this place to visit so that after we ate, our 1 yr old Grandson could go in the soft play. The service at the order point was slow to stop. We waited 32 minutes for our food, even through we were offered the food of 2 other tables prior as part of their chaos. Enquires about our order to be told, it was next out. Food was ok when it eventually came out, however the tea and coffee we got with the order was cold when our food had arrived.

My name is Diane and I have been working as a part time cook since June,Friday, Saturday and Monday at this garden centre restaurant and can honestly say that I have never had any complaints about the food that I have served, in fact two gentlemen said that It was the best breakfast that they had eaten and that they had been to other garden centres in the area, another couple commented on our quiches and absolutely loved them.Unfortunately I can’t speak for the service front of house and we do get very busy but try our best to offer the best service possible to our customers.

Friendly staff and quite nice food but generally a bit pricey for what it is. Would certainly not make a point of going there to eat with much better options available in the area.

The elder lady who works in cafe, her attitude is awful, I asked why is it closed early, she kept ignoring me, I tried to tell her that on the menu said that food serving ends at 4.30pm but they stopped order hot food at 3.30pm!! She ignored me so eventually I told another staff to tell her to change the menu information properly! Horrible attitude which made me feel uneasy in the end.

Visited the restaurant at the garden centre all I can say it was like going back into time when all you could get on the motorway was a greasy spoon cafe . One of the worst breakfasts I have had for a long time !

This restaurant is clean and well maintained. The space between the tables is good for getting a wheelchair or pushchair around without bumping into other people. The menu board is rather small and the coffee does come in two different sizes but that is not on the board nor is the price for the two different sizes.

The garden centre has a nice range of plants, and usually a section of plants on offer/sale. There is an aquarium shop inside which is nice to look around even if you don't buy anything. The cafe offers some great cake and I would recommend the chocolate milkshake!

Menus are on clipboards that you have to hunt for. Menu is shockingly limited. The lady taking orders had absolutely no idea what she was doing. There was hardly anyone in but the young lad there, when he could come off his phone, shouted they all food would be 25 minutes generally at the restaurant. The food was actually ok! Surprisingly! Seriously how can you run a restaurant like that! Terrible!!

Ordered 2 hot sandwiches and 2 coffees. My rabbits would not have eaten the salad garnish. It was brown and soggy. Very old. Tasted nasty. Was not impressed with the sandwiches either. Not enough staff and very noisy children.

We had a couple of very nice toasted sandwiches that were made to order. They were well presented with a garnish of salad and coleslaw. The ingredients were fresh and tasty and went down well. Fresh coffee was flavoursome if a little pricey at £2.50 per cup. Relaxed atmosphere in this cafe in a garden centre with helpful staff. There is a small soft play area which is reasonably priced at £2 per hour. The garden centre has a good variety of products as well as an aquatic section. Plenty of car parking

This is a nice garden centre, with a nice cafe and good soft play facility for little ones. Every time I come here I think how much better it would be with staff who were well trained, capable and offered a little more than the very basic service which they currently provide. I asked the young man serving me today if they could heat my sausage roll I'd just purchased for about £3. He told me to do it my self using the baby-food microwave provided. Is that good customer service, or even polite?? Then, my friend and I thought we'd order lunch for our children. The kitchen was closed 'due to ill health' explained the woman serving (very slowly). This is not the first time the kitchen has been closed, it feels like they are completely unprepared and unreliable. You can't cancel serving lunches because someones off sick? Have a back up plan! Please improve your cafe -- this is generally a lovely place to come to, it's just SO sloppy on the service front. Very much like the rest of the garden centre.

We’ve been coming here for many years and in that time this cafe has had new life breathed into it on several occasions. It’s understandable as competition is high, especially in the Crews Hill area as all the garden centres have cafes. This place currently targets parents, grandparents and child minders as they have a lovely soft play area. There is plenty of seating, as there always has been and a traditional long counter with menus behind. They also have clipboard style menus that you can collect and take to your table. Service at the counter was painfully slow, which I think was down to the woman on the till struggling with it. Staff from the kitchen came out a couple of times whilst we were queuing to ask her questions about orders she’d put through, which added to the delay. She was a tad abrupt and there was an air of confusion for the customers as they were supposed to know the number flags she was laying at the side of the till were for them to put on their trays. Smiles and a friendly greeting clearly weren’t on the menu either. It looks like a fair bit of money has been invested here. The coffee was lovely and the food was ok. But they really need to focus more on customer experience. Hopefully a juggling of staff or a bit of training will improve things for everyone. Will definitely come back and see if things are better next time as it was only the service that let it down.

A few of us decided to go for afternoon tea and it was a bit hit & miss. It was very busy so there was a large queue to place the order for food and we had a bit of a wait. Many tables needed clearing, there was food on the floor and it did look quite untidy but we appreciated it was busy and managed to find a table. One member of staff had to come & tell us that some of the items had run out due to how busy they were but they provided ample replacements for us so we weren't left disappointed. The service was slow & the staff did seem a bit stressed as there were certainly not enough staff for customers but the food was nice enough and we wouldn't not go back but just maybe go at a slightly less busy period.

The afternoon tea was OK. Very filling and yummy. The customer service however was lacking a lot. We had to get our own cutlery and plates after we didn't receive any... the shop side of it is good though. Recommended for the shop, not for the cafe.

Came here for lunch. My fish and chips was cold so put them in the babies microwave and then tasty. One friend had tasty barely warm macaroni cheese and another had cold ham egg and chips. Very nice polite young man came over to ask if all ok as I had asked about using microwave. Friend said very good but cold.......he brought bowl of piping hot chips. What a shame that good attractive tasty food is spoilt like this.

I've not been here for some time because of the poor service in the cafe/restaurant.I visited today in the hope that things had improved.Sadly this was not to be. The soft play area is not checked to ensure that all children have paid, so sone of us are paying whilst others go for free. The wait to be served for food and drinks is a long and slow one.If you are able bodied this may not be a problem but for those of us that aren't it's a long and painful stand. The staff clearly do not enjoy their time there and are lacking in basic customer services skills and manners.ie. if they make the previous customers two coffees incorrectly. I would have expected her to say 'sorry for the delay, I'll be with you in a moment', likewise I would have expected the young man working with her to have helped her as there were 6 people in the queue behind me and she was still redoing the previous persons coffees for the second time, but he didn't help, he wandered off imwith a packed of crayons in his hand instead! The food is of a very good standard and that cannot be faulted, however, for the prices of the food and drink I feel the service should be of a much better standard as at the moment they are very poor.In my opinion, not worth the hassle!

We arrived at the cafe with half an hour before they closed and were informed this we we ordered. (The shop was open for a further hour). We were served and sat down. We enjoyed our tea and cake until a member of staff asked us to leave as they were shut. Now, if the cafe were totally closed off from the main store or every table had been cleared before we were asked to leave, we wouldn't have minded. However, there was still a huge amount of clearing of tables which could have been done before we were 'thrown out'. We will not be returning.I would recommend not visiting anywhere near closing time if you do choose to go.

Called into Wyevale for lunch, usually a good experience given the high standards Wyevale usually set. However at 11.30, ordered a cup of tea and Christmas pud and custard. Given our tea, 20 minutes later asked where our puds were "another 10 minutes" when asked why, told with absolutely no care that oh the kitchen doesn't open until 12! It doesn't take a genius to realise that we should have been told when ordering this was the case. When we asked for a refund all we got was a lot of mumbling and attitude like it was our fault..... Wyevale manager, you need to pull your socks up and get your staff up to scratch...... Poor. Poor, service

usually soft plays are a bit of a nightmare for the adults - noisy, hectic and poor-quality food and drinks. This one is totally different - not a slush puppy or chicken nugget in sight. All proper good food and real coffee, and the softplay is in a separate see-through area, so much more relaxing than usual! There are also fish to see in the fish shop part, and knick-knacks to browse - great for a last minute present!

I'd often visit the Wyevale Garden Centre with my family over the past few years, and while it was hardly going to win an Michelin stars, it was a pleasant place that sold good value food and drink with friendly staff.I don't know what's happened over the past six months or so, but the place is now overpriced and incredibly unfriendly. The prices are eyewatering in places, the soft play has gone up by a ridiculous amount, and the staff couldn't be more surly and unfriendly if they tried. We went in on Saturday 28th November at approximately 11.40 with two young children. After getting them settled, we went to get some food and something to entertain them (there always had been colouring sets for the little ones). A colouring poster was found but no crayons. When crayons were requested a grunt and shrugged shoulder was offered. We then waited in a queue to order food having studied the menu only to be told dismissively that they weren't serving food. How silly of us to expect a restaurant with menus out would serve food! This meant we had to uproot a very upset couple of toddlers to one of the alternative eating venues in Crews Hill. Frankly, we will not be returning to Wyevale after being semi-regular visitors over the past couple of years. Something's changed there in the past few months. It's now far too expensive for what it is, and the staff - once so friendly - are surly and seemingly go out of their way to be as unhelpful as possible. There are much, much better places to go in Crews Hill.

First impression was not good and only went in because we had purchased an afternoon tea special offer voucher through Amazon. Service was slow, filter coffee nasty (purchased a separate latte but equally bad) and tea was weak and lukewarm. Sandwiches OK but not freshly made. Lemon cake only recognizable as lemon because of the color on top and the scone (NOT - possibly a stale rock cake) was inedible. Also, unbelievably, the clotted cream and jam was not served in dishes as you would expect but the cream was still in a sealed plastic tub and the jam in mini manufacturers jars. Laughably, the family next to us sent their sausage and chips back because it was supposed to be sausage and mash. By the time we left their sausage and chips had been brought back twice more before a member of staff from out back came to find out what they wanted. We did not have time to see the eventual outcome!Did we complain? No. I am usually a complainer if warranted but this had gone surreal and we saw no point with the (very untrained?) staff in attendance and looked upon it as a comedy routine. You have to find a positive in every situation. If you want a dodgy afternoon tea and a Manuelesque comedy routine go to Wyevale Enfield.Us? Pay the premium and back to Harrods!

I went to Wyevale Garden Centre in Enfield on Friday 25 September 2015 to take my Mother for an Afternoon Tea.I read the other review but I wanted to say I had a very pleasant experience. The assistant who served us and took our order was very helpful. He said that there was no Egg Mayonnaise available, but he offered us Cheese and Cucumber or Cheese and Pickle instead. We were given a pot of Tea while we waited. The tea was very nice, hot and strong. We did not have to wait for more than about 10 minutes before the Afternoon Tea arrived. It was really well presented with two rolls each, Lemon Meringue cake and a large Scone with Clotted Cream and Jam each. The rolls were really nice and the Lemon Meringue cake was delicious! We could have a complimentary refill each, so we had a filter coffee as well. The scone was really nice too. My mother could not eat her scone because she was full, but an assistant said they would put it in various box for us to take home. The restaurant was not too busy. We arrived at about 2.20pm.I felt I had to say that I had a good experience, and it was worth the £9.00 voucher I bought from Amazon. Please do not be put off by the negative review.I would recommend this Garden Centre because all the staff I met have been very friendly and helpful. Thanks

We went to the garden centre, as we had a voucher from Amazon for afternoon tea. Presented the voucher to the staff. They looked confused and had to ask each other on what to do, eventually we sat down and waited for our afternoon tea to be prepared. The sandwich was supposed to be ham and cheese, and egg mayo.we had cheese and tomato, and egg mayo. My plate also had bits of cornflake and something else on it. The tea cups were not exactly free of dirt and we had to wipe them with tissue. The sandwich tasted ok, the tea was weak, the lemon meringue cake did not taste fresh. The scone was hard inside and out, I could not eat it. The clotted cream was out of date (expired 1st. September 2015) we went on the 5th. September.I would not recommend a visit to this place to eat. The garden centre was OK.

Not really the place to come if you want a relaxing Sunday morning or a nice breakfast. Firstly, the service is very slow and the staff seemed generally uncertain about things. The food isn't great. Had a bacon roll but the bacon was cold, hard and borderline inedible. It was reheated and had gone dry and chewy. The coffee was ok though. The ambience is pretty poor. It's generally dead and soulless. Our experience was made worse by a couple who were generally picking fights with several people who had taken exception to their child terrorising several toddlers in the soft play area. The restaurant atmosphere became quite uncomfortable and we left. We weren't really looking for a bloke threatening to punch people or the mother scold other parents even though her child was punching other toddlers. Strange! Won't be returning.
