Wright’s fish and chips is the best in town! They have the best chips that I’ve ever had. So fresh & yum. The staff are so amazing and friendly. Definitely would recommend to visit🫶🏽💕

The best fish and chip shop in the north west , these are real fish and chips the Haddock is perfect and the batter is perfectly balanced , clearly the owners invest in the best quality version of each product they sell no cutting corners , the only problem is they are so good they are almost addictive and I often think about eating them everyday if only the waist line would allow, staff are also always super friendly , I’ve tried other local ones recommended by the Manchester evening news and non of them come close , this place deserves more awards !!!!

Mark, Trish and the girls who run this fine establishment in the heart of Manchester city centre are doing a fantastic job. Fish, chips and mushy peas with a can of RWhites lemonade hits the spot every time. The chips are tasty and cooked to perfection. Fish has the perfect balance of batter and those mushy peas are exactly how they should taste. A perfect Independent (local owners) traditional chippy exactly how it should be. Priced very well. Give them a try. Always busy however with rapid service.

Brilliant for freshly cooked fish and chips. I work in Manchester every few weeks or months and this is my go-to place for an old fashioned treat. I usually choose the mini fish supper which is excellent value and a good size for a lunch or tea, and comes with a choice of side, I recommend the spicy curry sauce.

The best traditional fish and chips in Manchester, delicious. Fish is made fresh, and IS fresh. Best washed down with a can of dandelion and burdock.

Of course, when you are back in the UK having some FISH and CHIPS it’s on my list. So this place had it all, nice Haddock or Cod with Chips. Friendly staff supplied us with this traditional dish. So we spent 12,40£ for Haddock large Chips and a pop. Credit card were accepted. The food was fresh and absolutely tasty. I would come back.

Dropped into Wrights chippy and can honestly say it DID NOT DISAPOINT. We are a Family of five , food was excellent , top quality and fresh. Cost was very reasonable considering its prime location in the city centre. Staff were warm and friendly . We will be returning next time we visit Manchester and can recommend this great authentic chippy. A must for lunch or dinner.

Oh my word. Wright’s is so good! It’s our go to whenever we find ourselves back in Manchester! We always get the Cod with a pickled egg, mushy peas, and curry on the side to pour over the chips. So so good!!

Wrights Chip Shop is a nice chippy in the heart of Manchester. They serve a cone of chips for £1.60. The chips tasted very good without salt or vinegar. As the cone holds limited chips tongs are needed as most of the chips scooped in were microscopic.

If you’re looking for a traditional chippy then you’ve found it. Busy little place, very busy on Friday lunch, yet the staff are quick and efficient serving. The quality of food is excellent with the usual menu you’d expect. 2 types of curry sauce and the spicy version is so good I’ve not yet tried the other one! Limited seating available in the style of buy and perch on bar stools with counter. I’ve regularly visited the last couple of years and is consistently great food in a clean environment. Top tip - Take a look at the specials board as the mini fish supper is excellent and there’s often a special of the day.

I have visited here twice now. The first time I had scampi and chips and I have to say this wasn't that great and made me feel quite sick. Besides the fact that I only got a few pieces (small portion size), the scampi was so wet, soggy and full of oil rather than crispy. On the other hand the chips were nice! On my second visit I stayed away from the scampi and had chips and gravy which was nice again! It is abit pricey but you expect this as it is in the town centre afterall. Overall, a decent chippy with a lot of choice.

This small, unassuming shop has some of the best fish you can ask for. All fish is cooked to order and ours could not have been better - excellent batter, cooked just right, not greasy at all, and filled with flavor. Also try the mushy peas!

Tuvimos una cena maravillosa última noche - vivimos localmente y conseguimos bacalao y patatas fritas y queso y cebolla picada y papas fritas. Close to the city centre, little take away store with some seating inside. Menu basic fish, chips, mushy peas etc. Piece of fish and chips £5.50. The portions were large, I didn't finish the meal. The only issue for me was it felt a little oily but that is my personal choice as I am not used to oily food. Other than that it was really good.

A regular port of call when in town. The main problem is securing one of the few seats in this mainly takeaway restaurant (except at lunchtime when the main problem is the queue stretching halfway back to the Royal Exchange). They have the tastiest fish for miles around (even if the batter sometimes has a bit of excess oil clinging to it) and decent chips, too. £3.60 for the cod is a bargain, making the £1.90 for chips look expensive by comparison, and there’s no charge for sitting down and eating it in the shop (if you can find a seat). You have to eat out of the tray/paper with a plastic fork but that’s not a problem for me.

My family and I wanted to try some authentic English fish and chips, and Wrights did not disappoint. We were served excellent cod, battered to perfection and crispy chips. Service was excellent and the food was reasonably priced. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a taste of the United Kingdom.
