Just had a delivery from woolton chippy 2 meals 2 portion chips 2 carton sauce £28.00 food was cold awful Gave the delivery driver £40.00 he said we never it was £10.00 I gave 2 £20.00 rang the shop they said I made a mistake the driver ran off was confronted on my drive he was shouting he never had 2 twenty pound notes Never again will I use this chippy

Really disappointing with tonights chicken chow mein. Very little chicken in it and they have now taken the tasty pieces of ham out of it. Been going there for 30 plus years. Might now try elsewhere.

Hit and miss in my experience. The chips and Chinese dishes are generally fine but the mushy peas were inedible bullets last time I visited.

Lovely staff and food but this is not a takeaway service. All customers have to queue for food as there is no separate takeaway service ,so for me ,with a health condition useless. Food is warm and standing for as long as the number of walk in customers standing in front of you. Lunacy . Not a takeaway. Just a walk in. Warm food a risk...

Been picking up our Saturday night takeaway from here for years, never once been disappointed. The standard of the food is excellent, and the portion sizes, well, suffice to say, we have leftovers during the week as the meals are consistently for two people, not one, but I'm not complaining. The chicken ginger and spring onion is a personal favourite.

Lovely staff, the [English] chippy items are very good. Nice curry too. I can fully recommend the Ginger & Spring Onion and the Satay sauce. Check your order though; they default what they can to large without asking and completely forget items.

Don't often use the chippy for our tea but in the past we have always used Woolton Fish and Chip shop. We ordered our usual egg fried rice and cartons of curry and portion of chips We won't be going back, the egg fried rice was so greasy and tasteless and you needed a spoon to get curry sauce out of carton it was so solid ....the chips were not up to usual standard either and tasted of stale fat!!!! I dont know whether it was just an ' off ' night or they have actually changed hands but will not be risking it again . Also our can of drink tasted a bit weird but when we checked sell by date there wasn't one on the tin !!!!!!!

My family have been going to this chippy for decades, but after tonight we all agree it’s fell way below its usual standard. Ordered food for 5 of us and only my 89 year old Nan, who has just spent a month eating hospital food during her stay, enjoyed it. The rest of us couldn’t believe how horrible it was. I personally had Singapore Vermicelli and found it to be greasy and tasteless. My partner had chicken fried rice (which for some reason had ham in it!?) and curry, which was disgusting. My Mum & Dad had fish/fish cake, chips and curry and said everything tasted very salty and horrible. Won’t be going there again.

Disgrace Bad attitude the woman who served us wow I hope I'm not bothering u no personality rude couldn't give a toss and the rest of the staff in there the quality poor I ordered a Donner kebab all I got was shredded meat and a small pita bread not even put together nothing I will not recommend this place and I won't go back ever

This is my favourite Chinese takeaway in South Liverpool and has the special chow mein 😋 highly recommended

Had fish and chips, and chicken curry and rice. Both excellent and good price. So good we went back the next night for sausage and chips, and sweet & sour chicken and rice. Excellent again and large portions. Staff very friendly as well. Which we lived nearby. Only downside is it is cash only.

Not the same chicken balls .long chicken in salty batter .. sweet sour sauce rank chips greasy mess nothing crispy about them swerve this gaff

Ordered for a pick up and it was extremley busy inside. Thought i'd wait patiently until it was my turn in the queue. Other people came in after me and shouted through the glass that they had ordered. Of course they were served first. The staff then continued to serve the next person whoever was closest to the counter. Hello, there is a queing system here. Saw my meal on the hotplate for 10 minutes, tried to get their attention but to no avail. Lesson learnt, don't be polite. Raised my point of being totally ignored and got a rude response on my way out. Next time I walk in, ignore the 7 people in front of me, walk to the front and shout I've ordered. Meal was cold and greasy!

Excellent take away food, particularly the Chinese dishes. They have fully screened off the serving side from the customer side and incorporated a pass through hatch for food and money.

Quality of food has deteriorated. Last meals I bought were tough tasted burnt and inedible.

Over cooked / refried greasy chips, chicken curry contained inedible chicken leg meat. Such a shame, as used to be good!

Very few prawns in the meal and those that were had been overcooked. Wrong pie provided, again. Last time I will be using this one. Plenty more in the area.

This is a Chinese and a chippy. Really good fish. The chips were OK but too greasy and stick together. Just needed frying for a bit longer.

Fish was nice and tasty chips were plentiful and hard to get a nice chip cooked right these days.

Chinese chippy used to be good, The fish was under cooked and made the whole family sick. I wanted to give it 0 stars but it won't let me. Won't return in the near future. Avoid if you can. Your fish & chips are rubbish and if I could I would sue you !!! :(

We have been using Woolton fish and chips for over 30years, good portions and very tasty food. Friendly family run business and always good value.

Absolutely disgusting! Waited over 2 hours for it to be delivered. Called them 45 mi utes before if finally turned up an was told it was ready but waiting for a driver. Food finally turned up sweaty and discusting. I had a mouth full and give the rest to the dog. Even he turned is nose up at it. Honestly fuming! The girl I spoke to on the phone clearly didnt have an manners and customer service was dreadful! Will not be going back! Why is there not a zero star option??

Absolutely vile! Don't know what has happened to this place! chicken pinky grey colour and everything else was shocking. Won't be going there again!

Been coming here for years and always enjoyed it, until tonight. After waiting ages in an empty shop both mine and my husbands meals were terrible. Special chow mein was stodgy and tasted only of soy sauce. Won't be going back

The most vile chinese.. I ordered chicken curry the chicken was brown.. Crispy chilli beef there was no beef just batter.. Meat spring rolls which never had meat in them just cabbage.. The chips where green.. The only thing that was ok was the fried rice.. And when i went back with the food to show them the man just went mad completely flipped.. Don't no how it's even still standing it was awful.

our favourite "Chinese Chippy" always great food and friendly family service from Paul and all the girls/ladies. I highly recommend any of the meals and we have tried most of them. The service is always quick but we usually phone ahead with our order as many of the regulars do
