I often meet a friend and we visit this bar that was closed for quite a length of time over lockdown. On Sundays the various is usually empty, with only a few customers. Just spoke to Kurran, the manager of the Woolf and Whistle bar and asked to reserve 5 tables for myself and a group. Kurran said, after speaking with his boss, that 'we' would need to pay £500 to reserve these tables = the previous day Kurran had told me £100. Informed Kurran that this was outrageous and their must be something wrong with his boss for suggesting such a ridiculous high amount of money for 10 of us. Evidently they dont want any customers. 😢 Oh well... 😐

We stopped in here for a drink and were horrified to discover mice running around the floors amongst customers. We alerted both the bar staff and hotel reception staff who seemed extremely disinterested, laughed about it and were pretty rude. We were advised it was London and there was nothing they could do. I expected much better service than this and left feeling extremely disappointed and disgusted. Will not be returning as it's one thing having mice running around but additionally having rude staff and poor customer service is inexcusable.

Had to kill a bit of time and stopped in for a drink, fully expecting inflated hotel prices. Was very surprised at the good value of the (large) glass of wine I had, French and drinkable. Friendly barman, happy to chat. Bar not particularly busy so very comfortable, but this was a Monday evening. Weekends might be different! Can't comment on food, or other hotel amenities

The Australian immigrant barmaid in here has no customer service skill and doesn’t know how things work in the UK. You’re only a barmaid in a crappy cheap hotel, you can’t even do that well. I pity you.

We are a polite and diverse group of people in terms of age – 40 plus, ethnicity – Israeli, Turkish, American, Italian, Spanish, etc, and of course British, and we meet fortnightly at the Woolf. Mr Walduck and Mr Smith appear to condone the behaviour of a manager who acted with hostility towards us. We absolutely did nothing to offend the manager who simply took it upon himself to act aggressively and not honour the promises made by Imperial Hotel to correct this man’s unacceptable behaviour. We were previously loyal customers of The Woof and Whistle Pub at Imperial Hotels. I wrote to Alexander Walduck, (owner of Imperial Hotels, with a hotel empire worth nearly half a billion pounds) concerning the disgraceful and offensive behaviour that myself and other customers sustained from a senior manager who worked at the Woolf and Whistle, Imperial hotels. The member of staff overcharged us, behaved inhospitably to us, and caused embarrassment when we visited this business on three occasions. I was led to believe that Mr Walduck asked for the member of staff's behaviour (it was this serious) to be investigated. The outcome of an investigation was that the beverage manager, at the Woolf and Whistle, was to behave professionally and decently. However on subsequent visits we continued to be treated terribly and to my amazement the Woolf decided to allow this rogue manager to continue in the job. We will not visit the Woolf again until the senior management sort out the very rude and unwelcoming senior manager.

I ordered at the bar, requesting one dish as a starter, and another as main. The menu offers a choice of chunky chips or fries but I was told on ordering, that chips are chips and that there was no difference in what you got. I ordered Calamari as a starter and the steak as a main. I could not of been clearer. However my main turned up with my starter a few minutes later! The steak was chewy, and the chips were no better than poor oven chips! Pretty poor overall. Chef sent his ‘apologies’ but really this is basic stuff... overall, the restaurant/bar looks the part but is pretty poor in reality. Really disappointed. All shirt and no trousers....

I always thought of this place as the bar at Tavistock and didn't know it has a name of its own. The decor is quite pleasant and it is a spacious lounge. I ate there several times during my stay and the food, well, what can one say about bar grub? Best to wash the food down with a glass of wine. The staff always pleasant, even with children who just wanted icecream. So if you are in Bloomsbury and need to rest your feet, talk to friends, have a glass of wine, this is it.

Хороший бар. По вечерам приходила на бокальчик London Pride. Уютный интерьер, приятная беседа с постояльцами отеля, недолго возвращаться в номер:-) Хороший выбор когда устал от долгих прогулок по любимому городу.
