Woodseats Palace in Sheffield

Spoons always delivers some good beers at a good price. But the Woodseats Palace need an update bit of tlc

Always enjoy going. Staff are always polite and friendly. Service is always quick. Has a nice friendly feel to the place. Food is good. Decent choice on the menu something to please everyone

I have been drinking in The Woodseats palace on and off for the past few years. The staff are all very friendly, one in particular being Debs she always has a smile on her face and couldn't be more helpful she really makes you feel welcome and everybody else that drinks and eats in there.

Genuinely the cleanest Wetherspoons I’ve ever been in; bathrooms immaculate and every table left is quickly cleared and ready for the next people 👍 Food was presented well - I’ve had some dishes from spoons in the past where it looks like it’s been thrown on the plate, but this was actually plated up with care. Really friendly and pleasant staff too. Cant fault it. Will be back!

Had large breakfast and vegan breakfast both breakfast wasn't very warm almost cold vegan sausages wasn't very nice not sure if we'll go again

1st visit but quite nice. Smaller spoons than normal but decent. Street parking ok. Early morning, so very little in way of atmosphere.

Food at Woodseats is excellent for the money. It always arrives hot and well cooked. Breakfasts are especially good.

Excellent food and choice of ales

Been a while since my last review and I've changed my mind about this place. Often not A great choice of real ales or not on because lines need cleaning, which the useless staff cannot be bothered to do. They'd rather walk round putting bits of paper on tables than do that! I often walk away because of lack of a decent ale being available. No bottle conditioned ales available either. Poorly run dive is best I can say.

So decided to get breakfast with my partner and literally have scrambled eggs and toast with a cheese and egg muffin partner had scrambled eggs and toast with a breakfast wrap when the guy turned up outta back to serve I was waiting around what sempt 3-5min so he comes with his mouth full of food chewing away everyone's gotta eat I get that but not when your trying to serve customers the food came toast was burnt egg's had broken bits of shell still in and the egg on the muffin tastes really dodgy so ended up leaving that since leaving both my partner and me have had really bad burning acid and nearly Sick don't think I'll be going back anytime soon too bad as the time before this was nicely done

It's a wetherspoons very dark with little atmosphere.

Breakfast at Woodseats Palace was the order of the day as we passed through Sheffield on our way to Meadowhall Shopping Centre. A former cinema back in the day, Wetherspoons have taken over the building in their drive to put old buildings of historical merit into circulation flogging cheap food and drink. We arrived early, shortly after opening time and put in our order for two traditional breakfasts and two refillable coffees. Breakfast in 'Spoons is always a game of Russian Roulette and that day was no different. The search for the perfect Wetherspoons breakfast is a long and tiring one. The full house of toasted toast, crispy bacon, well cooked sausage, skinless beans and hash firm browns is a ceaseless task. And for the ingredients to be hot too would neatly top off the full house and leave the customer happy. Would The Woodseats Palace break the hoodoo? No... Close, but no cigar. It was a fine effort but the search does go on. The toast was simply warm bread and yet the butter was hotter than, well, hotter than the toast. The beans did have a very fine film on them, possibly in homage to the former cinema. Aside from those minor quibbles the breakfast was actually very good indeed. Not quite the full house but definitely close.

Unfortunately got food poisoning from here. I went last night and had the mixed grill. Not eaten anything else since the day before and even then it was just cereal so almost certainly from here. Been up all night and feel absolutely horrendous. Never normally had an issue with this place as eat here regularly. Don’t feel comfortable going back now it’s really put me off. All the symptoms of food poisoning. Maybe check your staff/kitchen/food handling guidelines for hygiene as something isn’t right clearly.

I have never eaten anywhere that has no salt available.

Always good beer and service. Great selection of drinks at good prices. Glad we didn't take part in the quiz as 1 team openly googling answers. Suggest taking away cash prizes or checking for cheats.

Pretty much always plenty of seats, service at the bar is quite slow but ordering on the app is very quick and the staff are great. Had their new fish and prawn curry and Bombay potatoes and it was really very tasty. Good choice of ales when I went too

We go here a lot. The food is served really quick and relatively good. The staff are all really lovely and helpful. The hot drinks machine fails to make hot chocolate about half the time, but the staff eventually fix it and it is so cheap. There is colouring in for the kids. We aren't a fan of the bingo. Really great place to go with kids for the speed of service.

Visited yesterday sat 30th march lunch time, very busy. Good service, lovely food & a nice atmosphere. Would def return.

Surprised to visit a 'Spoons with TV screens blaring out horse racing and annoying ITV commercials. I thought that was against policy? Disappointed, and we moved on.

We visit the Woodseats palace almost every week and just wanted to say how happy we are with everything, friendly helpful staff and great food and service. Thanks to the whole team.

Service good but my steak was nearly 50% gristle - difficult to cut and difficult to eat.

I was want to say Saturday race night it was a brilliant night, great atmosphere, staff,service, we pre booked our race table, for five and it was so nice table cloth, light bites and a bottle of prosseco . If and when you they do it again, please book it was brill. Ps ,we had a few winners too. Pat and Barrie

Had an absolutely fantastic night here for the horse racing night. Booked a table and got a cheese board. Staff was very friendly. Pub was very clean. Definitely recommended 👌

We love coming here at the weekend for breakfast! Food is yum and the staff are super friendly and accommodating.

Cheap cheap cheap cheap nice decor and people

Had some lovely burns night comfort food in a warm, cosy and relaxed setting. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were helpful and accommodating to our requirements. Can't thank them enough.

Visited with friend for pre Christmas drinks & food. We were surprised to hear there was a brass ensemble playing Christmas Carols & songs. Really put us all in the Christmas spirit. Already in my diary for next year. 🎄🎄

Myself and my cats went to The Woodseats Palace for a Christmas meal on 13th December my volunteers from Oxfam. The Palace is next door to the Oxfam shop where we volunteer. This place is beautifully decorated for Christmas. The staff adored my cats Nancy and Benji. They are all very nice. I had turkey with vegetables with a mixed drink of fizzy lemonade and orange squash. I had a Brownie with ice cream. The food is excellent. My supervisor Julia gave a short speech. A great time was enjoyed by everyone. I would definitely recommend the Palace at Woodseats.

It's alright ish, the beer is OK and it's cheap , it's a 30 day hike to the toilets.

First Tuesday Steak Club meal and what a success. We were impressed with the speed of service, quality of our meals, particularly the Steaks and the value for money. A very enjoyable evening that we will repeat.

A pleasant reception with a good variety of comparatively cheap drinks. Debbie on the bar is especially notable being friendly informative and chatty. Didn't eat so can't comment on food.

A basic weatherspoons but the food was decent and still acceptable prices even though they have gone up. This isnt the prettiest pub but its convenient, has lots of seating and quick service with nice staff. Toilets clean too

I visited the pub with grandchildren for the Halloween party on the 28 November. I would like to congratulate the Manager for arranging the party, and particularly, Iona for the presentation and supervision of the games for all the children involved. If they were like our grandkids they would have had a wonderful time. Woodseats Palace is becoming a very welcoming and pleasant community pub.

Consistent with what you'd expect from Wetherspoons. Always been able to get a table here so enough seating to accommodate visitors without having to worry about pre-booking. Ordering from the table available if you prefer to order online. Parking on street only. You can usually get a space somewhere along the road and it's free for three hours.

First time I've ever been in, went for a breakfast. It was lovely. 10/10

Went in for curry night with friends, curry was very tasty and the beer was good, so would recommend a visit.

Its a good place to meet, have a good drink that's priced well. Good range of larger and ales. Well worth a visit gets busy. Its looking a little tired, could do with a good clean. I've not eaten here

Very dark noisy place. Couldn't hear ourselves speak. Won't be going back for a while.

Typical old style spoons quite dated and needs refurbishment, tables a bit regimented like a canteen but great variety of drinks all top quality and a reasonable price.

Lovely food and service (Debbie was so friendly and helpful). Unfortunately some of the clientele were questionable (particularly the fellow who thought it was entertaining to "pass wind" as loud as possible at every possible opportunity)

Last time I went in with my autistic daughter I was set about by multiple customers for her behaviour and told its not a playground. This is very upsetting when you already dislike going out for people's hateful comments and judgement

Very busy and a great selection of ales for everyone. I found the noise inside too overbearing so didn't stay long.

Standard spoons. Food portions seemed smaller than normal. All male toilets were out of order on a busy Saturday meaning had to queue for a single disabled toilet.

Really good called for breakfast before united game was busy but wasn't long in getting served breakfast was nice and hot,breakfast was the highlight of the day .UTB

Food and service spot on. Had the small plates loaded chips and chicken wings. Really substantial. Drinks really cheap but excellent quality.

Bald manager with glasses nicked my chips but other than that it was alright.

Its so old school, had that smell that lets you know your in a local pub. The clientele are a mixed bag, but are all super friendly. The food is the normal spoonies fare, but the staff are lovely and it was all hot, prompt and naughtilly yummy

Visited Saturday 27/05 early morning for breakfast the male who was taking orders needs to be told to smile a bit I know its early on a Saturday morning but a bit of manners wouldn't go a miss felt really put about by him, food was average the lady who bought meals out was very cheerful which made up for the miserable male. Suppose you get what you pay for

Food is very good value for money. Beer is good as well. It was great for breakfast, however Abbey and Lavender are in the kitchen today and breakfast is not great by any means. Under cooked mushroom and cold beans. Such a shame, management can't get a handle on this. As it was one of our favourites.

The most rubbish quality I've ever seen in my life. No music. No ventilation The staff were acting weird.

Had to give this one a low score as the chain never seems to have any food in Burger options were very limited to chicken burgers No beef patties available on the day we went in So it was a quick drink and off to another pub or restaurant that had food available!

I visited today this morning two full English Breakfast and was well impressed with the quality of the food and presentation well done Lavender who I believe is the chef and in my opinion doing an amazing job in the kitchen here. The server today was Debbie and she immediately made me my wife and children feel so comfortable and made us all feel at ease. Was also impressed with the service from both Jake and Hayley who were also very polite and ensured the quick arrival of our food what a great meal all round cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. You'll be pleased to know you have made my weekend thank you all at the Palace woodseats 😀😃

Another busy Wetherspoons on the Saturday morning I visited. Coffee and biscuits gor just over £2 due to the recent 7% price hike. Still great value for money because the hot drinks are unlimited refills. I enjoyed a latte and a hot chocolate with an espresso in. A bit of a wait for service, though, with only one serving for a while.

The pub is very clean and the staff are very friendly and very helpful and the food is good and the drinks are very nice the price is okay good place to stay with your kids

My son a nd I dine at the woodseats Palace atleast twice a week for breakfast before school opens and there are so many positives. The food is always great. Always hot. The main thing that makes it for us and the thing that keeps us happy frequent customers is DEFINITELY the staff. Who go above and beyond and always with a genuine smile. The staff are always lovely, nice clean good family pub. Children always welcome, which is perfect as its next to my childrens school. I often come in for a coffee or a little bite to eat before picking up the children. Always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome.

Went in with my son we had brunch very good value with included unlimited coffee lovely drop off place after shopping excellent will go again 👌
