The food was good and the staff were friendly and helpful but - and this is quite a big but, in fact this is a bigger but than Gérard Depardieu's butt - the delivery was painfully slow. It took almost 2 hours for our food to arrive and everytime we called we were told 10 or 15 minutes. When we first ordered, if they had told us, look we're really busy it could be a couple of hours, it would have saved a lot of frustration and several phone calls. This is just one problem and good communications would solve it, but as it stands I would eat random things I found in the bin before I placed another order for delivery from Taco Mex.

Quite the interesting fusion food experience, being served what seems to be tzatziki instead of sour cream with overly breaded onion rings. The salsa is also questionable but words escape me; it's not bad, just weird. If you come from a culture that's used to spice, medium spicy will come out tasting barely spicy.

Found a piece of sharp metal in my chicken poblanos order! Couldn't eat anything else after. So glad it didn't break my tooth or cut me!! Absolutely horrendous. Food arrived late and soggy.

The food at taco mex is fantastic. Everytime I have been the food is prepared very quickly and comes out hot. The staff are friendly and happy to help. The place is kept clean and is a nice place to eat. Would recommend to anyone for Mexican food.

I don’t want to give this place even 1 star, after ordering the food I waited 1 and a half hours, I called and asked where the food was and the service was terrible on 3 occasions the man there told me my food was 10 minutes away. When the food finally arrived it was not nice and cold so disapojnting will not be recommending this place to anyone.

2 hours to got from London road to woodseats, finally arrived and what a load of CRAP! Paid extra for chilli beef, I don’t recall seeing any chilli beef? Was just rice and kidney beans! Wasn’t one thing from a £40 order that I can say was remotely nice, Don’t waste your money!

OMG, what a tiny hidden gem. Randomly popped in as my usual place within the vicinity had run out of what wanted. Was walking back to my car and saw this place. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. This will now be one of my go to places. I can't believe I've not seen this place before, I thought they had only just opened. I'm a driver but you fixate on the road, so I was shocked to hear they've been there for years. I would definitely recommend it. Never normally eat in (usually takeaways), but I think next time I'll eat in for the experience.

I'll be honest. I've ordered from Taco Mex for the past 3 or 4 years and recommended to alot of people. But the last handful of times have been disappointing and ultimately made me quite dissatisfied and sad. Loved this place, and I still crave the old quality. No where else can you get a burrito as big as my forearm, was great quality and great value for money. But however, quality has been shocking, found a fly in my burrito once (sure they refunded me), the large tub of guacamole is no longer a large but small cups that they barely fill but still charge the same price. Taste in general has been bland, used to love the shredded beef. The ratio between all the ingredients have been terrible, couple of occasions I've only ever had mouthful of beans and rice, and after eating over half the burrito I got to the meat. Yes, I kept going back because I crave and missed how good it used to be and thinking it might be different today. Taco Mex went from blowing my mind and sending me into a state of immobility and satisfyingly painful food coma to a meh 4 out of 10. Ultimately, I will be leaving Taco Mex behind alongside 2023.

I ordered on uber eats burrito and wedges and a coke. Food came in 40 mins rather than the 2 hours some are quoting. The overall rating is probably bang on I'd give it a 3/3.5 the burrito tortilla was a bit soggy and didn't have much meat inside the burrito and was a bit on the bland side. Would I eat here again for free? Sure, would I regularly pay £15 no.

Really easy to order. Had to ring to check my order was coming as web site was very informative.Driver was a nice guy and vey polite. Awful bland food. £27 for two tasteless burritos, chips, strange dips, cheap tortilla chips and two cans of Diet Coke! Not worth it again.

Food arrived after an hour freezing cold and all components were tasteless and either dry or soggy. I was also really dissatisfied with the flippancy I was greeted with when I rang to check where my order was. This is most certainly the worst Mexican place in Sheffield, I shall be requesting a full refund and never returning.

Food was delivered OPEN and COLD,went straight in the bin, tried to speak with vendors but they weren't interested in what we had to say. Ordered enchiladas got cold burritos with JO chicken in. Eat here at your own risk! We didn't even get what we ordered! Disgusting service 😒

It has become a regular - almost weekly - order for me and my fella, the food is SO tasty every time. We have been working our way through the whole menu and they never miss. We often find ourselves chanting ‘verde’ ‘verde’ around sheffield as it lives rent free in our minds. We recommend to everyone we know! We’ve only had takeaways so far but we’re going to come in and have a meal soon. Unsure if these people writing bad reviews actually acquire tastebuds because we have never had a bad order yet! Verde verde!

Embarrassing, sinful, shameful, deplorable, blasphemous, pathetic and dastardly. The tortilla was archaic with diarrhoea inducing, yet bland flavours within. Furthermore they felt as though they’d been manhandled through a babbling billabong. Though proclaimed a best seller, the chicken wings had overtones of ketchup and sugar, as well as a cavernous dearth of any seasoning. But the diet cokes were good.

This place is an absolute gem for Mexican food. I’m American and I’ve had some damn good Mexican food in my life, but this is hands down the best Mexican I’ve ever had in Sheffield. I visit this town once a year, and I think all the bad reviews are from deliveries. Visit the restaurant yourself and don’t trust some driver with your food. This place has authentic delicious Mexican eats. 100% 5 stars. Also the people who work here are extremely nice and lovely. Imagine ordering VEGAN in a Mexican restaurant? Of course it’s bland, you’re vegan. Idiots.

The staff make your taco with their bare hands (no gloves) which considering put in fresh ingredients is so unhygienic! Even if hands are washed there is no chance bacteria won’t get in from hours of doing this and obviously they touch their clothes beards it’s absolutely revolting!

Ordered vegan burrito. Had to wait a while. The staff were friendly and apologetic and gave us some free chips and dip while we waited, so service was pretty good. BUT when I got my burrito it was seriously bland. Just rice and beans inside with a few leaves of lettuce, no veggie chilli with fajita seasoning as described on the menu, no spinach, no salsa, no guacamole. Seriously the most disappointing thing I've eaten in years. My friend really enjoyed his burrito though, so I guess their meaty burritos are more flavoursome.

Honestly wouldn’t even give this 1 star if it were possible. Ordered our food at about 4pm with an expected 20-40 min wait time, the food took almost 2 hours to come, rang up twice to check up on our order but the restaurant never bothered to get in touch with us about a later arrival. Food finally came just before 6, tasted pretty bland so not even worth the money or wait. But obviously we ate it given that we were starving by this point. Ate my chicken chimichanga, which was soggy and falling apart, up until halfway through when I discovered I’d been eating raw chicken. Please don’t go here it’s nothing special at all and certainly not worth the wait or risk of food poisoning.

I've been ill, and as yesterday was my birthday and I wasn't well enough to go out, we decided to order Taco Mex. Big mistake. The beef chilli burritos were soggy, and contained nothing but a sea of rice, beans, and the smallest amount of cheese and jalapeño's. The chips were cold, soggy and a scrappy portion. The meatballs were cheap rubbish drowned by rice. The nacho chips were ok, and the tangy sauce in the pot was decent, but that's about it. I wish I had stuck to ordering from Amigos Mexican Kitchen. Their food is lovely.

First time ordering and it will be the last I think. We ordered 2 chilli beef burritos they arrived soggy, I could not find a single scrap of meat or chilli so we were basically served a soggy wet burrito with rice and beans YUM! the chips were soggy and the portion size was small. The meatballs and rice looked nice but the container was 95% rice with little sauce and about 6 small meatballs. They tasted like cheap frozen meatballs you would find at a wholesaler. It seems this place is going down hill rapidly and I will be sticking to amigos in future!

Had an experience of ordering their food from Uber Eats and our food never arrived. We rang to ask if they could check on our order. Got a call back a while later saying it would take 10 minutes but the food still never arrived. They will just take money off you so do not order from them under any circumstances. My friend said she could hear them laughing when we asked about our order.

Our food took nearly 3 hours to come. When it came, it was cold in some places and warm in others. I ordered a taco which was absolutely disgusting, I have never spat something out my mouth so fast. Do not order from here

El hombre aquí fue muy interesante! His name is Shaz, we spoke about Spanish and I taught him un poco, porque su necesita aprender un poquito para trabajar en una restaurante de México!! However my Spanish is also pretty poor hah! We spoke about Arabic and Urdu, love a culture mash up! What a legend, friendly and interesting. OH AND LA COMIDA FUE MUY RICA!

Taco Mex is Taco Bell level Mexican food...actually, Taco Bell is usually better, sadly. They don't utilise Mexican ingredients/spices, nor is anything on menu prepared the Mexican way. Thus it should not be labelled or marketed as such. I've heard great things about them from local British people so tried it with an open mind (which is hard after being a Latina in England for a decade). The way I'd describe it is, Italian-inspired sauces (with WAY too much sugar and chipotle sauce & smoked paprika...Mexican food is rarely smoky or sweet) paired with Middle Eastern / South Asian spices, thrown together by a very inexperienced cook, who saw a photo of Mexican food once. Sorry but it's accurate. Knowing what real Mexican is - the gamut, all the way from high end to "street food", to food made by people born + raised in Mexico thru 4th generation immigrant home-cooking - it was inedible for me. Picked at it for 20 minutes then had to throw out (don't hassle me, it made me feel sick to my stomach). No-one working there has a drop of Mexican ancestry which is apparent. Sorry but this is app ropriation. I guess the food was at an appropriate temp, is about all I can say in favor of this place. Service was alright, but they were annoyed I asked about preparation methods (wasnt being rude, simply trying to figure out what would be edible for me as the menu made it apparent it wasn't anything authentic I'd enjoy).

This is our go to food place. We went tonight and the food was so flavourful, fresh and just absolutely lovely. Never had a bad experience with Taco Mex, and given complimentary churros to boot! Love, love, love going here.

Utter shambles from this restaurant. And looking at the reviews, they are getting staff to make good reviews but all the bad reviews are genuine! Me and my girlfriend ordered through just eat, spent lots of money, expecting nice food. But it arrived cold. Some meals was missing. We phoned the restaurant and the manager kept changing his story, me personally, I believe he had got the order mixed up, but wouldn't admit it. Called me a liar, pretended that the phone call was breaking up and then refused to give me a refund. Told me never to order from here again, blocked my number and said he would spit in our foods! Expect a call from the health inspector you tramp!

Dreadful, ordered vegan taco tray received meat, called to query and they assured me it was jackfruit, ate some and then ill for the rest of the night. Called again, having compared the meat v vegan tray and believing we had been sent the wrong one due to different items and they confirmed there had been a mixup in orders. Complete disregard for the customer and diet, appalled.

Went to friends to try this place as they said it was really good. When it arrived, only half of order was right but freezing cold. One dish was sent wrong and 2 were missing all together. Extras we paid separately for were missing too. Called few times to try to rectify the situation, the supposed manager was absolutely disgusting, offered no help, even changed the order status on just eat so couldn't properly complain on justeat app, and at the very end texted not to call again and we're banned from ordering from them again. Absolute joke of a place. Avoid at all cost.

Really good burrito’s and taco’s. Had corn tacos and a vegan green burrito and they were both excellent! Green burrito was vegan and gluten free and corn tacos were also gluten free and tasted amazing!

My partner and I were hungover and decided to order a portion of Grande Nachos and 2 x portions of jalapeño poppers and it took two hours to arrive. I rang the restaurant twice, and although they were exceptionally apologetic and gave us some free soft drinks, the food STILL arrived stone cold. Food was bland. Can’t believe we waiting two hours for some nachos and jalapeño poppers…imagine if we’d ordered a full meal!

I'm currently waiting.. Over two hours after I ordered my food for a delivery, after multiple attempts of contacting the restaurant they have refused to answer. Finally after an hour of trying to find out when my food was arriving they informed me that it would be an extra 25 minutes on top of the already 1 hour wait. I think the lack of communication is ridiculous, I appreciate that you may be busy but I have paid for food and a service that I haven't received, as well as the taco Mex now being closed. I have no idea if my food is going to arrive or not. It has caused a huge disruption to my evening. I wish I could say better things about them but so far it's been horrible customer service and I don't recommend the experience at all.

If the apocalypse comes and this is the last restaurant on earth, i would much rather die from choking on my own vomit than eat here. This is the worst service from a takeaway I have ever had. They had to return twice with the food .. most of which was still missing and the food that was there was cold. I had a meatball burrito with no meatballs in it. They have then refused to give a refund.

SCAM!! Absolute disgrace of a place! Ordered £170 worth of food and only £30 of it turned up. Rang and told them staff who said they would bring the missing items. Turned up over an hour later, again more than half the food missing. Spoke to the manager who refused to give a refund for about £100 worth of food!! The food that did turn up was disgusting. Wouldn’t even feed my dog it. Avoid at all costs!!

Ordered a £160 order for work, only a quarter of the order came and that was wrong. Called and they said they would send the rest of the order, when that arrived an hour later it was still wrong and 5 people's orders were still missing. Food was cold. Would not recommend this place at all.

DO NOT ORDER! Ordered a burrito and a friend ordered a quesadilla meal for 2. Order arrived a hour late. Upon arrival drinks were missing. Tortilla chips are so stale they couldn’t even be eaten. The burrito had CANNED chicken in brine and boil in the bag white rice inside it despite getting the extreme hot flavour no seasoning or any of the listed ingredients were inside it. Disgusting food could have made better at home. Glad we opted for no dessert! Places which sell stale food like this should not be operating. Please avoid.

Where do I start, order was late by an hour, forgotten drinks, tortilla chips were stale, none of the stuff that was said that came in the burrito or the quesadilla was there. My friends burrito literally has plain white rice, CANNED CHICKEN, and four tomatoes, the quesadilla was literally cheese and CANNED CHICKEN, the only thing that was the onion rings that were nice, the sauces were flavourless, food poisoning pending, thank god no desert was ordered. PLEASE AVOID

The burritos are absolutely amazing! I let my dad to try it but he was gluten so he only had the insides of the burrito but still it’s really good, I had it for my lunch today, I’m not hungry anymore. It’s amazing!

SCAM. They know what they're doing. Currently still waiting on food nearly 2 hours after ordering. I have called 2 different numbers for this restaurant, they have not picked up and both have their voicemail full so you can't talk to them or leave a message. They know how to avoid giving you your money back. I would just completely avoid this place and even report it if you can.

AVOID. My delivery order never arrived. After around an 1 hour 30mins I rang up and they just hung up on me when I told them my postcode, the second time I rang they said it would be delivered in 10 minutes. They lied. Appaling service.

VILE. Took over an hour to get here and then when it arrived my partner felt the food which was freezing cold and sent it back takeaway refused to refund my money back to me

They lied when l spoke to them on the phone 3x and now are avoiding my phone calls. They also discriminated. Why didnt the driver follow the correct instructions provided 3x and one of them was to come to the building and dial where the food will be delivered as that is how we know someone is at the door, as properly instructed by the building. CCTV shows the driver didnt come to the building, didnt follow proper instructions provided by the building and myself. A very unprofessional driver was sent to my home address. The person working at taco mex was very rude. Severely. Due to Taco Mex behaviour and also the driver, police have been contacted and report made and Taco Mex on London road Sheffield will be dealt accordingly as theh have taken my miney, have been very unprofessional and never followed instructions that were provided and have made 101 excuses that make 0 sense.

I have only tried the restaurant Twice. Once indoors last year, I can't remember the much about the food (guess that speaks for itself as well) I guess it was okay at best but nothing 'amazing'. Interior was good and staff were nice, can't complain about that. I would advise dining in...BUT... NEVER will I order again from this place via Uber Eats! The most horrible food I ever ordered from Sheffield by far. Buritto sauce was spicy and tasted worse than it looked despite me ordering medium salsa. The Frittas had no quality and the rice was stale. Potato Wedges however we're surprisingly really good, weirdly it's one of the best I have had. I threw 3 out of the 4 food in the bin, not a good result. At a push and only due to the indoor experience I would give it a - 2.5/5 - My advise if you happen to dine in here and you want an 'extra' get a dessert that's a safe option, don't try the other fancy sides, they may look good in picture but taste bland. Taco Mex has left me Taco Vex'd after that Uber Eats order. Maybe I will dine again indoors as a third time lucky, hopfully, I can find a good combo of foods this place serves as there are alot of options. Surely it can't all be bad 🤷🏽
