Well worth the short walk from the steam train to avoid the crazy queues at their cafe every time a train arrives. We opted for the all day breakfasts which were most acceptable...the quality and portions were excellent. The service was friendly and the place(including the toilets) was very clean. Highly recommended.

We called in here when we had a day trip out to to Devils Bridge falls, looked lovely from the outside in a very tranquil setting, surprised how quiet it was, inside it had indoor seating for the cafe, and a gift shop etc for visitors and for the caravan site I assume, toilets were very clean which is always good to see, staff were very friendly, had tea and scone, all very nice, service was good, prices were very low though, quite shocking in these current times that the business can run at such low prices. We came back later for ice creams and cold drinks, I was pleased to see more people there then, most having cooked breakfasts. I would highly recommend this tearoom, having run a tearoom myself for some 25 years I can honestly say I don't take much heed to bad reviews usually done by people who don't have the confidence to say anything at the time, to find out the reasons for issues and rather hide behind a computer screen, or have pleasure in undermining the hard working people of this world. My husband and I will certainly be back again.

Seen the 5 star rating and lovely exterior and thought brilliant, let's all have breakfast here. So 3 adults and 4 children ordered breakfast, first the sausages were missing so had to wait for them. Then upon looking at the toast it had black mould which they had buttered over. Some of the kids had already eaten some. Took the toast to the woman on the counter who apologised and compensated me with £1.60 ! Spent £65 with them. You may be the only cafe around but please be a little more diligent with your food dates and storage methods etc... DISAPPOINTED 😞

We spent 5 minutes plus browsing, only to be told there was no hot food today. In a very off hand manner Whilst the manager might be looking after her staff, she has no consideration for the customers. Instead we spent £40 up the road. I would not recommend this place at all. RUDE - the year after lockdown, doesn’t deserve to be in business. To be ignored and treated in such an off hand manner - ridiculous

I am a local and have brought my summer visitors to this tea room for years now. It was quiet, friendly and good value. Alas not any more! The lady serving is very loud and has two small children running around all the time while she talks very loudly to them. My elderly father was very stressed by the constant noise and chatter. The prices have increased and the size of the breakfast has decreased. Cheap white bread for toast and a very sparse portion of bacon and sausage with an over cooked egg. We will make the trip to town from now on for much better value and more peaceful surroundings. Very sad that my local tea room has come to this.

Having pased through the Devils Bridge area several times before thinking how beautiful and enticing the tea rooms looked....How wrong could I have been!! On arrival the lady serving was extremly rude and abrupt, questions were answered with blunt one word responses, it was like we were an inconvenience. When we took a seat the experience went drastically down hill, there was a large dead blue bottle in the sugar bowl, old bits of food on the table and a sticky tacky table cloth which seemes to melt a little bit more everytime a hot item is place on it. The food arrived quickly and was served by a much happier member of staff, possibly the owner! The food was ok at best, although extremely over priced for the quality. There is a gift shop which seems to sell anything and everything. Toilets were clean and tidy although no hand towels only an old handdryer. All in all I will definitely not be visiting again.

Whilst on holiday in Wales recently, we decided to take advantage of the unseasonably mild weather and visit a place called Devil's Bridge - a nature trail which guides you along Jacob's Ladder footpath in the Rheidol Gorge below the aforementioned bridge and which eventually leads to a breathtaking cascade of water, your just reward for having survived nearly 700 steps along the way! It really is a very pleasant walk and not as strenuous as it may sound. But, should you wish to fuel yourself with some refreshments beforehand or reward yourself afterwards (we had tea and Welsh cakes)then I can recommend the aptly named Woodlands Tea Room and Gift Shop which has seating both inside and out, part of which is under cover so, on the odd day when it's raining, but not too cold, you can still enjoy the peace and beauty of your surroundings without getting wet!

We stopped at this tea room on our way further into Wales which looked really quaint but what a major anticlimax! Miserable woman who we assumed to be the manager who proceeded to shout angrily at my 2 year old child for picking up a teddy which had been positioned at child's level for sale! She then continued to hover around us making us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. We swiftly drank up and left. It was a poor entrance to Wales and the start of our holiday. My daughter and I were recently staying on the campsite and thought it'd be a treat to have a cooked breakfast at this cafe. I ordered a Woodlands Breakfast and a bacon roll. We sat down and watched both of our orders go out to customers who arrived after us. We waited for 35 mins before I questioned where the food was and got the "What did you order?" response, followed by the waitress going into the kitchen, giggling, then coming back out and walking off!! When she came back, I asked again "Where is our order, please. We have been waiting 40mins" - this was answered by "Yes, it is just coming" - when it arrived, she said "I am not sure what happened" to which I responded that our orders very obviously went to other customers. I just would have appreciated a little honestly and some kind of placation. Instead, we sat and ate in silence, feeling very uncomfortable, I then noticed I only got one piece of bacon instead of the two mentioned on the menu, at this point I had no appetite. We will definitely NOT be going back here.

Visited one morning for breakfast with a friend. Good breakfast, would have preferred non-plastic sausages, but it was on the whole enjoyable. Portion size was satisfactory although did not appreciate the thin Mother' Pride style bread for toast. Butcher's sausages and baker's bread would have made such a difference to the quality of the experience. The venue was interesting, reminiscent of a cricket hut, but full of trinkets and curios which kept us amused for a while. What was bad and will keep us from rushing back was the surly nature of the gentleman at the counter, who steadfastly refused to engage in any banter of any kind, didn't even manage to elicit a smile. The lady who served breakfast was equally disengaged from any interaction with her customers.
