Had a lovely pint of Kronenbourg (the citrus kind which i’ve never seen before), enjoyed some amazing live music with great company and a cracking atmosphere, will definitely be coming back. RS

Without doubt one of the best venues in leeds (maybe the uk). Just outside the busy student area but with a great atmosphere no matter the time you visit. I must give a special mention to Catherine (GM of the pub) who went above and beyond in terms of service and making me feel like part of the furniture everytime i visit. I honestly could not recommend this pub enough!!!

The landlady is brilliant. She’s friendly and welcoming when she’s not busy serving other customers. The food is good but the price of beer needs to be reviewed as it’s getting a little expensive now.

Wow! Love this place. Always a friendly welcome from fantastic staff. Food is always good, we really enjoyed our lunch. There is a great range of beers on tap and lots of choice of both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Great for dry January. Always something happening from live music to their pub quiz. Don’t sit at the far end of the pub where the large window looks onto the outside seating area it is absolutely freezing and I wasn’t even near the door. Woodies is near my house so convenient but after multiple attempts cannot recommend the food. The lunch offer isn’t an offer the food you get is minuscule and you basically pay for a tiny portion and normal price for your drink. I left there and went to eat elsewhere. Had Christmas dinner at woodies and yes the atmosphere was nice the food was way overpriced and we had to ask for gravy (who has dry turkey with no gravy). Last week had a chicken wings platter for two - eight pieces of tiny chicken where the wing bones were shattered to feed two? I had to spit most if it out because of shattered bone. Not enough to feed one for £9.95 total rip off. The staff are lovely but the cold and rip-off food let’s the pub down - needs a good manager and proper food, not bulk bought cheap blast-frozen *%#^.

Favourite bar staff Ellie & Patrick always give a warm welcome. Great atmosphere to catch up with friends.

Usually great place to eat..lots of things weren't available, chose the wrong small plates as food was warm..and mostly everything deep fried.. wasn't great...but doesn't stop me visiting as food usually hot and great choices

My experience of Headingley is primarily as a uni student, and so I always expect pubs and restaurants to be very student-centric in this area, however the few times I’ve visited Woodies I’ve noticed a very broad age range of patrons, all of which are friendly, as are the staff. If you’ve never watched Toy Story you might not be able to decipher the gender of the toilets, but overall the pub has a warm communal vibe with cosy outdoor seating too

I was charged twice for a Coors, not on. I was told I hadn’t paid yet I had. my server Patrick was very rude and dismissive despite showing him that I had paid twice. I wouldn’t have minded if it was a decent drink but Coors. Told me it was my own fault. not great customer service at all.

You may be fooled into thinking Woodies is cemented in its position as the start of the Otley Run and nothing more. Though that is technically true in terms of its concrete foundations, if you choose your times well you will find a great little venue for more than just those with penchant for fancy dress and binge drinking. I just ate a magnificent Festive Burger, had my favourite Nothern Monk beer from the wide selection, watched one of the many screens and enjoyed the hum of the atmosphere. Staff friendly, service quick and prices as reasonable as the Leeds economy of late would seem to allow. Bravo

Used to be great, now awful.... Staff unloyal to the locals combined with a negative vibe.. For all the regulars that have supported this place for decades and decades, they do also offer a regulars price..... It just depends how new the member of staff is. Such a shame, another lost pub... .. Go to the Original Oak instead..

Staff are lovely, however, food portions are poor. We ordered many drinks and some fries, about 10 chips per portion.

The first pub on the ' Otley Run '. Unfortunately, on the day we visited Saturday 10th August, there weren't any draft beers available, and the fridges were emptying quickly of bottle beers.

Nice pub. If you order on the app, be aware that the food order goes to the kitchen, but nothing happens with your drinks order. We waited 15 minutes, asked at the bar as was told, "Oh yeah, I'm not sure what happens to drink orders. Food was mediocre at best, overcooked fish, peas boiled to the point they were no longer green, and we counted 20 peas on the plate, minimal portion of chips. Mac n cheese was OK, edible, as a frozen reheat was expected. Overall, I wouldn't bother with the food

Popular with students and older folk.

Made a booking for 5 older adults for 6.30pm on a Thursday. Made most welcome and had a really good few hours. Plenty of choice of different ales and the food was lovely. 4 of us had the steak and ale pie. The pie was a proper pie ie pastry on bottom, sides and top ie not one of those that is the contents with a puff pastry lid put on top. It was also very hot which is what hot food should be like. The gravy was also very thick and tasty. All the staff behind the bar were friendly and helpful. A special 'shout out' for Patrick who was very attentive and helpful though. Would certainly recommend it as it was busy enough to give it a nice atmosphere. The outside covered area also looked inviting and would be great to sit in during the warm weather. Went recently for the Euros. The atmosphere was great with a good sized beer garden, despite being busy we got served in a decent time and there was lots of lagers and ales to choose from.

Love this place, visited many times with my husband for something to eat while watching the football, always good quality and a great value, also very good staff, who never seem too busy to spend time making you feel welcome

Decent selection of beers with standard Greene King pub food and few more adventurous options. Friendly bar staff with bi-weekly quizzes and shows a good selection of sporting events throughout the year. Best to avoid 12pm-6pm on a Saturday due to the volume of Otley Runners as it is the starting venue, and overall is probably the best pub on the crawl.

Weekday lunch, no salad available as a main, and the garnishes were very very sparse. Came in as a party of 8 and the first person was finished before the last one had even had their food served. Nobody else in the place!

Terrible terrible staff and management, me and 3 friends came here for a few pints, they served us pints in the wrong glasses and when we complained about that they had an agenda against us after that and they refused us pints saying we were too loud, when we were speaking just the same as anyone else in there, and as the manager is saying we are too loud the pub erupted with noise over the football and i said what about these people they not to loud for you ? and shes said no that’s different noise, she was a racist against us because we weren’t english, I've never once in my life felt discrimination against till i stepped in this pub, horrible horrible experience will never be back, this is the first review i’ve ever wrote in 30 years of life shows you how much this experience has effected me.

Good service, badly let down by the lack of local beers on offer.

Paid a visit today with my dogs, after a long walk on the Meanwood trail. It was a lovely sunny day & the beer garden looked inviting, so I called in for refreshments for us all. Had a lovely pint of Northern Monk, Faith, which was delivered with a smile.

A lovely warm greeting when I walked into the pub. The staff were fun, pleasant and helpful. A good selection of beers, a very pleasant and relaxing ambience even though it was quite busy. I was staying nearby so the pub was only 5 minutes from my accommodation and I went there every night for supper. A great find! Service with a smile was excellent and the food was really good too. I can't think of one negative thing to say about this establishment. 5* from me!

Perfect place to watch live sport, the staff are all really friendly and there was a good atmosphere in the pub.

What an absolute spiffing group of ladies and gentlemen, utterly restored my faith in humanity, genuine lovely staff. I smashed a glass in the garden whilst crying about my recently deceased hamster (Princess Di) and then proceeded to fall onto the floor. Whilst rolling around on the floor in a state of anguish and upset, the staff (or as I like to refer to them as, my hero’s) they spoke words of wise wisdom, cleaned me up and the glass and the one staff member on their break proceeded to help me adopt a hamster online. I went to pick my new hamster up the following morning from a lovely woman named Glen. Glen who asked me on a date. Me and Glen are now shopping for matching Christmas jumpers, and are moving in together. If it wasn’t for the staff at woodies not only would I not have met a one night stand, but my new wife Glen. We love you woodies! Me and Glen have decided to have our engagement party there if ever we were to marry. We love you woodies! If it wasn’t for you I would still be sad about my hamster, probably using rebellious coping strategies to fight through the pain (committing arson etc).

Great pub. The food is varied and excellent. There is a wide range of quality drinks and the staff are lovely. A top pub that I wish I lived nearer to!

I had wait 1h to get my food but food was nice and tasty, waiter been very dry person they need to put a bit of salt in on the samail but in general site is good to have few beers and something to eat. 2 of the festive plates the most good they no had available not sure why

What on earth has happened to this pub? The music is deafening yet it's empty. Drinks served in plastic glasses. I know it's on the Otley Run but this is a joke. There's no one in so you've obviously alienated locals. We'll done!

The prices are higher than other local pubs, which I don’t mind if the quality is there. The main thing that lets the pub down are the Men’s toilets. Urinals are often out of use. There is only one cubicle in the Men’s. The door opens in such a fashion that you need to precariously step over the urine soaked toilet bowl in order to shut the door behind you. A horrific ordeal if you are well dressed. The majority of the time this toilet is leaking, so the floor is wet through. It is unsanitary and unpleasant. Last year when the kitchen was extended, men were redirected to the women’s toilets temporarily. They have 3 spacious cubicles and the layout is fit for purpose unlike the gents. This problem needs addressing. It is insulting to the regulars.

Nice place with a good range of drinks a little pricey and can get busy with it being on the otley run but it is a really nice place

Hatten ein Familien Treffen mit 11 Personen, darunter 2 kleine Kinder! ⚽️ lief auf den Fernsehen! Draußen kann man auch sitzen, Holztische mit Bänke im Innenhof! Den alten Tresen 💘 ich so sehr! Essen und Getränke Auswahl super 😀 Nur um 20 Uhr mussten wir gehen weil Kinder ab dann nicht mehr erlaubt sind wegen Alkoholkonsum ! Unserer Zeit dort war trotzdem sehr schön 😃

Had a great afternoon lunch until the boss had a meltdown in the beer garden over someone leaving Chinese food on the table. Smashed a glass and left us all intimidated… won’t be visiting again.

Busy and only 2 (rude) staff on. Cask ales wiped out. When I asked if a beer was coming back on I was told 'no idea. Haven't had Time to go downthe cellar. Tables covered with finished food plates. I'd hate to seethe state of the kitchen. A once great pub

Great range of cask beers here. Gets busy when the rugby is on. Good atmosphere and friendly service. Whoever was responsible for the updated interior design needs sending away for compulsory retraining! There is a little bit of everything here - wood, metal, chains, books and more wood. Update March 2023 - still some great beers on the bar. Gets busy but is pleasant pub for a drink. Food is reasonable. Helpful staff.

Me & my wife popped in after a meal close by. The leeds rhinos game was on but not over bearing. A great selection of local cask ales & craft beers. I had vocation "Heart & SOul" very tasty & value for money. We got served very quickly by the manager & the service was really friendly & quick. Obviously used to the otley runs. It has a great outside seating area to the rear with screens out there to. We didn't have food this time but will be definitely back to sample the menu as what we saw go out looked amazing. A gem of a pub & well run!

Well, I love this place. The atmosphere is always great, the staff are really attentive and friendly. Always willing to go above and beyond to make your visit special. The food is lovely. Always a good choice on the menu and is served with a smile. It's not all about food though. It's a great place to visit for drinks too. Always a wide range of beverages available of both the alcoholic and non- alcoholic variety. A lovely bar area or a great outside space, whichever suits you. I always recommend Woodies to family and friends when they ask for somewhere fab to visit :)
