Pooky’s es un fabuloso pequeño café / delicatessen local y familiar que ha estado funcionando durante años. Siempre tan amable, ya sea que esté tomando un café rápido o sentado para comer. Excelente selección de quesos y todo tipo de deliciosos bocados, difíciles de dejar sin una lata de sus aceitunas!

Mi marido y yo tuvimos una noche encantadora en una de las noches de queso y vino Pookys antes de Navidad. El experto en vinos era muy conocedor y tenía una variada selección de vinos y un puerto para probar. Primer puerto que me ha gustado! El queso estaba muy bien presentado - todavía tratando de recrear esas combinaciones! Pookys es siempre mi primera opción cuando estoy buscando un capricho - los pasteles y horneados salados en el mostrador de delicatessen nunca decepcionan.

Pookys es mi primera opción para ponerse al día los sábados con amigos. Me encanta una menta y el té de regaliz con su tarta de pera fransipan - me hace volver 🙌

Me encanta este lugar, siempre me hacen sentir tan bienvenido. Los favoritos de mi hijo son los frangipanes y regularmente nos pide que volvamos a casa de la escuela. ¡Estoy muy feliz de hacerlo también!

Friendly staff delicious food will go again

Vivo en Horsforth y me encanta apoyar a los lugareños! Fui aquí a tomar un café y por error me sirvieron leche láctea en lugar de avena. Después de darme cuenta del error después de un sorbo, le pregunté al barista si mi pedido se había mezclado. Sabiendo que pueden ocurrir errores, no me enfadé por la situación hasta que la dueña, que creo que se llama Anna, interrumpió nuestra conversación para preguntar sobre el tema. En lugar de ofrecer una disculpa, me preguntó si era intolerante a los lácteos o vegano. Cuando mencioné que era vegana, hizo un comentario condescendiente, sugiriendo que no era gran cosa y que no me haría daño. Realmente apoyo cafés independientes, pero no volveré aquí de nuevo.

Wow! What an amazing brunch and interesting menu. Such a lovely, wholesome atmosphere and tasty food. We were a big group, but they were happy to accommodate. Would highly recommend.

As a regular at this fabulous local establishment, I sincerely can’t recommend it enough. If you haven’t yet tried it, then it’s a must. From excellent coffee, with fabulous poached eggs, avacado and bacon on toast with some sriracha sauce on toast, to some amazing lunch time options both healthy and for those who wish to be more indulgent! They also have a wonderful deli and and a variety of unique wines to take away. 5 star review from me!! Here’s one of the team making me a special coffee today.

I don't like leaving low star reviews I likes the cafe the food was so pricey and toasty which is bread and ham for £6 I almost fell of my chair this, this place would be perfect if the cost of the food were kept affordable , cuppa T was nice though

Have you ever travelled 196 miles just to go back to a cafe? I wouldn't normally but Pooky's deli has something special about it. In and amongst the delicious bites to eat (standout pain perdu), the plentiful cheese and meats selection and buzzing atmosphere, it is the staff that really made me come all the way back to Leeds from Reading. Never have I ever met such a lovely group of people who are so well equipped for the world of hospitality. Their warm embraces and smiles are what bring oh so many regulars back to Pooky's every single day. Until next time! (I can't wait)

The cafe is lovely and the staff seem very friendly. The breakfast was good although my poached eggs weren't even warm, however my friend was very happy with her choice of food. I chose not to say anything about the food being cold as it was incredibly busy and the wait time was a lot longer than expected. We also bought some goodies from the little deli too. All in all, I would go back and try again.

Got in touch with Anna @ Pooky's as I wanted a custom hamper putting together for a present. She was immediately on it with the hamper delivered a couple of days later. Super easy to arrange and the recipients absolutely loved the brilliant selection Anna provided. Thank you!

Ridiculously good salt beef bagel, friendly staff, nice atmos and interior decor…and RIDICULOUSLY good salt beef bagel. Did I mention that?

Well this is my new favourite coffee shop. Firstly, all the staff are super nice, friendly and funny. The flat white is spot on. The food is inventive and delicious, I had the New Yorker sandwich. The atmosphere is right up my street, great design, love the artwork. Cool vibe.

All three meals were delicious and well presented. We had two of the Executive Eggs and one Woodland Mushrooms with added avocado and sausage. Great, strong specialist coffee. Friendly service from helpful staff, we were served by Kate and Frank. Calm atmosphere despite it being busy. Don’t miss this place! Now chowing down on some lovely sweet treats from the counter.

First visit on a Monday afternoon having driven passed for ages and wanting to visit. Cute cafe and deli offerings. Lunch menu is varied, but also manageable and filling portions for a light lunch. I bought 2 slices of cake to take awake, which went down well. Would like to visit for breakfast as well since other reviewers mentioned the poached eggs.

Disappointing, 2nd time we've tried this deli and both times the food was ok but not good enough for the price they charge. Waited half an hour for the food to arrive even though there were only 5 other people in the place, when it did arrive it was just about warm.

Entré en el café, no pude ver un menú hasta que pude contestar. Me sorprendió ver lo altos que eran los precios. Me dije a mí mismo que era un placer y que sería wortg y pedí un bocadillo de pollo en pan sin gluten. Tuve que esperar unos 20 minutos para ello, pero fue advertido de ello. Cuando llegó, solo se cortó el pan con una cucharada de col. El sándwich era pequeño y decepcionante. Supuse que era porque pedí sin gluten, pero mis padres tenían el mismo sándwich y también recibieron pan en rodajas con los mismos rellenos tacaños y ensalada de acompañamiento. Creo que es muy mala relación calidad-precio - lo menos que hubiera esperado sería un rollo recién horneado. Tenía una lata de SanPell con ella que me costó casi £ 4. No volveremos atrás debido a los precios aguadores del ojo y muy por debajo de la cantidad y calidad promedio

A croissant and flat white eat in was £8.10 That was almost double the take out price. The coffee and croissant were nice, and I'm not familiar with Horsforth, but that seemed steep even for town centre prices. Nice cafe.

Estábamos en Pooky’s, un encantador pequeño lugar independiente en Horsforth. El menú es variado algo para todos, incluyendo algunos sándwiches increíbles para el almuerzo. Estábamos allí para el desayuno y tuvimos huevos Ben, revuelto y humo, ambos absolutamente delicioso. ¡Los cafés también son sabrosos! El personal es muy amable y servicial y para colmo... perros bien comportados son bienvenidos también!

Service was incredibly slow, granted the place was busy, lovely surroundings and ambience, but if I'm honest I'm struggling to understand how this place is raved about. Coffee was fantastic but took over 15 mins to arrive, and general lack of urgency /attention from a number of staff members. Maybe I hit an off day. Granted a cooked breakfast is very subjective but sausages very pale , bacon over cooked, (difficult to cut) , eggs beautiful, struggled to find the roasted tomato and far too many beans (over took the plate ratio). The baked goods and deli offering did look delicious but not sure I will be returning soon .sorry.

Don't usually write reviews, but couldn't not for this place. What a great spot! We had the chicken burger, salami melt and a few flat whites, and all were delicious - one of the best coffees I've had! Our server Lily was friendly and attentive, and we've decided we'll definitely be returning soon!

Visited on a Sunday morning for breakfast. It's small but very nice place . Service was good. The place is clean.The food was really tasty and reasonably priced. Parking is available on the road side . Look forward to visiting again.

Visited for breakfast with my family. There was a confusion with my order - mainly due to myself getting mixed up. But the waitress in the pink shirt was quite rude and sassy regarding the matter. The total cost for all meals and drinks was steep for what was received. Most likely won’t be returning.

Called in for a light lunch. We've never used this delivery/cafe and it caught our eye when we drove past. All the staff are lovely and friendly. It was busy when we called in and was lucky to get a spare table. Our sandwiches were perfect with tasty ham and good quality cheese. The coffees were lovely and hot too (the coffee blend just suited our palettes - strong but not bitter.) We will certainly call in again if we pass. Only downfall was the parking but it's worth the walk.

Coffee is really nice from here, does come out slightly cold somehow. The full breakfast was a bit disappointing, the bacon was burnt solid, there were a handful of beans with no taste, a singular slice of small bread and half a tomato. Not really worth the money in my opinion. The executive eggs were tasty, but again quite small sizes for the price tag. No vegetarian sausage option for the veggie breakfast as well. The food from the counter/sweet treats are always fantastic, the main menu food is not worth it.

This is a nicely appointed deli and the quality of the food is very good. However the service is appalling. Expect long waits and inattentive staff that seem somewhere between surprised and annoyed that you’re there. If you’re looking for a coffee and a cake the bagel shop and the vegan place a couple of doors down have just as good food & drink but are much more professional.

Been coming to Pooky’s for years, one of my favourite places for a coffee and a bite to eat. Horsforth has dozens of great places to eat, so the fact this place is busy all the time says it all really. The breakfasts in particular are amazing, my weekly sausage and bacon sandwiches are the best i’ve ever had. It’s also great for meats and cheeses, beer, wine and loads of other stuff. All served by a really friendly team who take great care of you.

Lovely well cooked food. Service a little slow, but itwaa Mothers Day, so very busy.

Went out for brunch on Sunday which tends to be busy yet we still received great service. We got two of the specials and a kids breakfast which were all lovely then treated ourselves to a cake each afterwards

What a fantastic venue! Delicious food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. Dog friendly too, so you can take your favourite four legged friend whilst you indulge in the cake... A particular favourite is the Salami melt toastie!

Pooky’s remains one of my favourite places to go for food and drinks! The gorgeous little cafe has the most wonderful staff who are always very attentive and friendly. The food is beautiful! I had a salami panini and my friend had an asian noodle salad with chicken, they were both delicious! Followed by banoffee pie and forest fruits cheesecake, we were absolutely stuffed. Everything came on time and tasted wonderful as per usual!

WARNING: Entering Pooky's risks expansion of waistline and depletion of bank account because there is so much delicious choice that you will want to eat and buy EVERYTHING. I managed to get away with a lovely flat white... and a black pudding egg and pancetta muffin... and 3 slices of custard tart... and a bottle of wine. (Oops) Must go back for all the cheese and sausage rolls... and beer... and... and... Thank goodness I was only visiting for a short time.

Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff and although full of young moms and babies, they accept dogs. We had the home made pastrami sandwich, croquet monsieur and the roast vegetable soup. Shared a bowl of the ‘fiery’ chips. Coffees were all good too. Very reasonably priced.

I have been a few times as to be honest the flat white is perfect!BUT unfortunately, everytime i come in,im not greeted with a hello or smile,they just look at me until i tell them what i want.Then I came mid December with my Daughters and I'm not exaggerating this,I waited at the counter at least 5 minutes before anyone deigned to even look at me! It really infuriates me when establishments think their customers are an inconvenience!I think I will try the bagel shop nxt door in future,its always busy so must be good. A word or two of advice,SMILE and say HELLO it makes the world of difference.

We've visited this place a few times because it is on our doorstep and the food is of generally good quality (particularly the pancakes). However, even though it is the priciest place of its kind in the area, the coffee is disappointingly weak. The younger service staff are pleasant enough, but often seem quite nervous and prone to distraction, hinting at some tension between them and their employer. This may not be helped by the place being popular with parents of young children and welcoming of dogs - which is nice in principle, but results in the tightly packed room feeling even more cramped (and noisy) - but this also seems to be the case even when it's not all that busy. On our last visit we took a seat at around 11.25am, already knowing what we wanted from the breakfast menu. We were one of about three or four occupied tables, and when none of the service staff came out to take our order we headed to the counter to discover that the brunch menu was no longer available because it was now after 11.30am. All in all, worth a visit for the menu, but the coffee and atmosphere make it difficult not to feel like this is currently a 3.5 star café with a 5 star price tag.

Very nice. Had to wait a while for coffee when not busy...then brought wrong order...but otherwise a pleasant half hour .

Lovely for brunch. We could tell they were short staffed but the food was excellent quality and value and we enjoyed our visit. Used tables were cleared quickly even though they were very busy.

Had a really lovely lunch at Pookys today, first time trying to food and it was top notch, and a massive shout out to our server Rachel who was so lovely and friendly, really made the visit special!

Friendly staff, an eclectic mix of offerings for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Well patronised by locals and thoroughly recommended. Sit there all morning with your lappy and they will keep the coffee flowing.

Amazing service and the most delicious buttermilk pancakes with banana and caramel sauce. Only sad that I couldn't quite finish them! My mum said the scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection too. Yummy!

My favourite cafe in Horsforth. Always have new bakes with interesting flavours - they are always actively trying to create something new and fresh and experiment with combinations etc. Delicious food and drink, lovely deli, lovely staff. Only fault is that the drinks are slightly expensive but it is an independent cafe so worth every penny.

Average experience - front of house was busy but only one front of house member of staff who was lovely but couldn't possibly keep on top of everything. Beans and toast were cold suggesting they'd been waiting to be served for a while.

Put a review on a while back (bit further down) but as a result of two brilliant wine and cheese evenings in the past, we recently got far too much wine from Pooky's..Just to get us through lockdown! The selection of wines are great (red and white) and we know the quality will be spot on because stock is always well researched and selected based on merit. Recommend the Venko (red) if you want something with a bit of heft or the white Viognier also sits nicely with the weather getting a bit warmer. Also, recently got a lockdown cheeseboard with crackers as a treat. Top notch. We both loved the Harrogate blue naturally but the goats also rocked. Oh! You have to get the fennel salami. Absolutely, lovely with the cheeses ;) From Pre-lockdown visits ******************** PLT and chocolate brownies are the best around. Great coffee and the home made charcuterie is starting to look really good! Best around.

Would not go back here or recommend. Called in today with my friend bought 2 sandwiches for take out. My phone rang in the shop so we sat in the cafe and eat the sandwiches. Before we finished we got turfed out by the staff because apparently they charge more to eat in to listen to the music and for the air conditioning. There was Literally one person in the cafe sat down. No wonder it was empty when you treat customers this way. The sandwiches weren’t great either hardly any filling in them and they charged nearly £15 for them with crisps. Would hate to see the sit down prices. Never in my life have I witnessed a business turfing customers out when they have purchased something from them, I am actually livid about it. Avoid

First time coming to Pooky's and it didn't disappoint. I had the banoffee pancakes which I loved -the pancakes had a lovely wobble to them and weren't dense - and my friend had poached eggs which looked amazing. Lovely atmosphere inside.

I came here for a solo lunch on my day off after I'd been wandering around Horsforth. I've been before for breakfasts a couple of times (also highly recommend!), but I have to write this review because the chicken burger was probably the best chicken burger I've ever had. The bun was soft inside and crunchy outside, and the chicken was marinated beautifully, and was grilled and juicy, with a delicious slaw, and a satay-style sauce. Let's just say that I've thought about it every day since, it was that good. Highly, highly recommend!

The service and staff are gorgeous and help give this place a star more than it should have. £13 for a full breakfast is already incredibly cheeky but for what you get it's even worse. It's obvious the aesthetic of the breakfast is put before quality or value. There was so little on the plate and even something as inexpensive as bread was given in short supply. Love the vibe of the place but the prices do not match the food.

Came in for a takeaway coffee and was surprised by the stock! Good range of artisan/craft beers, fresh produce and goodies! Rachael was lovely and had a nice little chat whilst she made our drinks - Will definitely be back!

My first time visiting Pookys today, and I’ll definitely be back. The staff were super friendly. The coffee and the grilled goats cheese sandwich were both delicious. I loved the decor!

Food was absolutely lovely. Executive eggs were amazing !! Plenty of black pudding and bacon. Pancakes were huge. Fluffy and soft with a generous helping of maple syrup. Staff were lovely, Rachel in particular was brilliant and was always on call if needed.

Had a lovely breakfast on Sunday! Anna and the team looked after us really well after a big run, Rachel was our server and she was lovely! As always the food was brilliant. Thankyou :)
