Tasty food. Excellent service. Tried one of their traditional Bangladeshi Specials and it was delicious. Glad to hear they do home delivery too.

Wonderful delivery,very prompt and very smartly dressed man who brought it to the minute it was due! Food was all piping hot and delicious,worth every penny.

I went for dinner at Woodford Tandoori Cottage with a group of friends and the meal left us all utterly impressed. From the moment we stepped in, the warm ambiance and friendly staff made us feel right at home, and all dishes we tried were extremely delicious. The 007 Mutton Railway Curry stole the show! The mutton was so tender and the dish is a must order if you don't know what to choose. It's extremely flavourful and has an interesting bit of history attached to the dish. The menu offered a very good selection of authentic Indian dishes and staff ensured we had everything we needed with fantastic banter. Their genuine care and hospitality really helped to make the evening enjoyable. We've frequently visited Purple Mango in Banbury in the past and had nothing but fantastic things to say, though the Tandoori Cottage in Woodford is just as good with a different, relaxing atmosphere in the local village of Woodford. We'll definitely be returning.

The food was cooked to perfection. The chicken and lamb was tender and full of succulent flavour. The biryani rice was full of spices and cooked properly. The jalfrezi had the perect amount of heat and flavour. First time visiting here, and will definitely be coming back again and again. Great service too. One of the best India meals I have had in a long time.

It’s so hit and miss. You can have the best meal of your life or the worst. I tried letting them know as I’m loyal and want to see them doing well, but it lays on deaf ears. The manager doesn’t have a clue how to talk to customers other than to take your money. When there are 2 Indian takeaways in the village, it baffles me as to why they do business this way.

Food was mediocre. Quite bland and swimming in oil. Quick delivery but food was tepid. Sadly wouldn’t recommend.

Our usual restaurant for a Saturday night, and tonight my meal was AMAZING! I had tandoori King prawns for the first time here and it was the best dish I've tried so far. 6 or 7 huge tiger prawns fir £12.95, fantastic value. Cooked to perfection. Ali and the team are a delight. Excellent service.

Wow. What a fantastic visit. This restaurant has had many different names & managers over the decades but after visiting for the first time in a.while the changes are astonishing. Ali will greet you & see to your every needs. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is out of this world. This restaurant should have at least one Michelin star. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

We have eaten in the cottage a good number of time the food being great. However as a take away, don’t spend you money, the food that arrives is not worth the money nor the effort to order.

We are regular customers at Woodford Tandoori Cottage and the food and service is exceptional and never disappoints. There is quite often a new dish to try and last week was a Green Herb Sauce served with Tandoori Chicken which was mouth watering and delicious, definitely a new addition to our ever growing list. Would highly recommend

My mum and I came for a meal at this restaurant and it was great! All of the meals were fresh and delicious. Our meal came quick and all of the waiters were amazing. We both definitely recommend!

Food was delicious, will definitely be coming here again to eat. Naan bread and popadoms were so good and most importantly the staff were so friendly and felt very welcomed and waiting time was not long...

Vile awful food. Minted lamb contained peppers and no peas🤣 lamb was tough as old boots swimming in oil. House rice was made with tinned fruit cocktail 😂🍹. Massively huge thick nann bread. horrid food this way chef Cant cook.

We went the night before Lockdown V2 and had a lovely meal, good food, good service, I'd not been for ages because I usually meet friends in the middle but it was nice to stay local for the night while I had a friend staying over.

The popadoms were folded in half and hugely overcooked. The sag bhaji tasted like heated through frozen spinach with no added spices. The korai was acceptable but not very flavoursome. My friends said similar about their meals - barely any flavour at all. I can only assume the chef was away?!

Just enjoyed a superb takeawy from Woodford Cottage. Onions barjis deicious and huge . Several different mains all equally good and the sundries very tasty too esp the keema rice. Delivered still plenty hot enough and on time. Payment over phone quick & easy. Can't fault them and will definately order again soon

The tandoori cottage platter starter with fried onions was poor with dried lamb tikka and kebab in quality. Not sure if it had been cooked on a charcoal tandoori The currys were a bit better but could not justify the 5 star reviews. Service was friendly and genuine

Visiting friends for the first time at Woodford Halse, they took us to this popular Indian restaurant. It did not disappoint, the meal selection was extensive, backed up by the quality served. Would recommend a visit. Photo shows a meat thali

Literally just finished our takeaway from here, the food was hot and fresh. We ordered a green delight which was delicious! Really impressed with everything and the onion bahjee was crispy and yummy.

Have been dining here on and off for the last 25 years BUT now it's at it's best.The current chef(s) really know how to cook authentic Indian food, which is always served piping hot and well presented.The staff are very friendly and helpful if you need further information about the dishes.Overall considering it's Woodford Halse and not a big city this is a great place to eat.We are fortunate to have it on our door step. Highly recommended

It was the first time ordering from Woodford Tandori cottage. We didn't go into the restaurant we had a takeaway. Very very tasty. I can't answer all the questions below because we didn't visit. We had a takeaway.

Lovely food, friendly staff and great place for a birthday get together. We have had many dinners here. The oranges after your meal is very thoughtful. Very highly recommended.

Great trip to Bourbon Distillery in Kentucky USA....Very interesting tour so many interesting facts and information given out by our tour guide, very clear and concise tour.Finished with a tasting session - again told best way to try the bourbon, foods that complement the Bourbon!

We have eaten both in the restaurant had takeaways regularly for many years. We do particularly enjoy the banquet nights as such great value for money.

not eaten in this place for a while. to start it was cold and the decor was dated. starter was just a bowl of chicken that was not very spiced. main course was south indian chilli.

A very high standard of delicious food can be anticipated here. I opted for the meat thali and strongly recommend this option as a fabulous tasting plate/‘Indian tapas-style’ option for those that fancy a few great tasting dishes all in one place.

As always another superb meal. We eat here on a weekly basis and love it! Ali always suggests new dishes if we're not sure what to have! We love the tribute nights. Restaurant is family friendly. Does a lovely Sunday banquet meal 1-3pm. Well recommend!

My husband and I have been dining at this restaurant for 20 years. Although there have been management changes in that time, the main chef (and owner) has retained his influence on the food. The smokey flavours are my favourite and something I've not had anywhere else.

Really enjoyed our family meal last night, four children & four adults. Hot crispy poppadums & chutneys, Chicken biryani, chicken pasandra, chicken korma for the children, chicken nuggets for one child, sag aloo, rice, prosecco, cobra (on tap) & desserts. All cooked perfectly. Service good, would recommend.

Having just moved to the area we were keen to try the local Indian for takeaway. Delighted we tried it. Only losing one star due to Delivery taking slightly longer than promised on the phone and the onion bhaji were not hot, but apart from that it was great. We were even sent a complimentary bottle of Cobra and it was nice to have poppadoms with onion and sauces included. Curries were tasty and ingredients were fresh and plentiful. Rices were generous and nan breads cooked to order as we asked for one which wasn't on the menu. We were impressed and will visit the restaurant to eat in too now, as the takeaway was so good. Looking forward to that as soon as we get a chance.

We live locally and enjoy eating in and take away from here. Staff are always cheerful and go out of their way to ensure the whole experience is enjoyable. We are very fortunate to have such a high quality establishment in our village. Well worth a visit.

Ordered a takeaway for two for the first time and it is the best we have ever had. The delivery was prompt and very friendly, even had a free bottle of Cobra beer, nice touch. Great quality chicken and the sheesh kebab was just perfect. We will now be regular customers. Very helpful when we phoned and free delivery was a must. Thank you.

Lovely meal tonight as always! This is well recommended, so nice to sit in with the family! Service is brilliant, waiters are brilliant with the kids giving them smaller portions, extra poppadums etc! Our mixed meat platter was hot & packed with flavour! The kids loved their chicken korma. Desserts were delicious too!

Travelled for nearly an hour to meet family who were visiting the area for a beautiful Indian meal with the most attentive service I have experienced for a while in any restaurant!

So we've been to this place a couple of times, only ever have takeaway from them. All times we have found a hair in something or the poppadoms dips have been left out, even left the poppadoms out one time! But we gave them the benefit of the doubt last night and decided to get a takeaway from them. My friend geneuinely had chicken giblets in her curry....we phoned up to complain and the fellow who answered tried to hang up immediately after saying sorry...to which we were not ammused at the attempt to resolve the problem. They then offered to send a refund out with their delivery man.

Had a gorgeous takeaway from here last week, best Indian I've had for a while. All well cooked, meat was tender particularly the lamb, onion bhajis nice & crispy, lots of flavour and taste and cooked to perfection!

The food here is extremely good. They will make your dish to your liking and will also surprise you with great suggestion that are not on the menu. The service is always great and very friendly.

Our second visit for our party of 8 for a Sunday Banquet and it was sad to see no other diners as this really is a bargain Sunday lunch. The mixed starters were good sized portions of hot tasty dishes and the main courses were just as good. My 'benchmark' lamb jalfrezzi had tender chunks of lamb in a delicious spicy sauce with onion, pepper and whole chillis. The only slight disappointment was one of the waiters getting stroppy when we complained that we only received 6 main courses when we had ordered 8 but this was quickly resolved.

The food is always good here, drinks can be pricey but it is worth it to be able to walk home after, which living in a village is not always easy to do.

It was a take away but they did not put the popadoms in all the chutneys nothing to put them on not happy the main currys was fine

Spent last night at the Woodford Tandoori, attended a Gary Barlow Tribute night. Food good as usual, the staff looked after us very well. Great atmosphere, we always enjoy our evenings there and are very lucky to have this restaurant in our village, great part of village life.

I have now been to this restaurant twice in the last 2 weeks and on both occasions had an excellent experience. On the 17th November we went with my wife and 2 daughters to celebrate my wife;s birthday. It was a Tuesday so it was Banquet Night when you can choose from the a la carte menu a starter, main course, side dish, rice and nan all for £11.95 - amazing value!!! They also do this banquet on a Thursday night. It was actually my wife;s birthday and then brought a special cake/dessert at no extra cost.
