Indian Chef in Daventry

Ordered online, order was confirmed and was charged. Went to the location to pickup and saw it was shutdown due to Health Hygiene issues (photo evidence attached). My order was confirmed, which usually requires someone approving the orders as they come in, so they were eager to take my money, but not so eager to clean the kitchen to a NYC standard (which isn't terribly high). Will not be going back there again, if they ever open again. Big if, as the city may be better off without Chef 28...

Barely any shrimp in the Boston roll. Ordered three roles and all of them are like this. Mostly lettuce. Perdón at the front isn’t very friendly either

The place was empty, which should have been our hint to run. The food was okay at best, there were some hidden gems such as the soup dumplings but everything was mediocre. The Tofu Teriyaki was okay, not enough rice to accompany the platter though. They handed us our water and it was visibly cloudy. The Miso soup was okay but it was a little too salty. The sushi rolls seem like a bargain but in reality the portions are so small you might as well have gotten ripped off. They do, however, offer a wide variety of food items, so that's a plus.

Bad costumer service, waitress was rude and kicking us out. Basically deserves a 0 stars. We arrived around 9pm and said we should take it to go because they closed at 10. Anyone can honestly eat within the hour. She never came to ask us for our drinks or if we needed anything. The service was not ok. And we were 1 out of the 2 tables which shows that it wasn’t busy. The food was not the best and her staring at us didn’t make it any better. The menus were also not sanitize before hand or after we used them. Do not recommend.

I loved chef 28 when I was working downtown. I loved it even more now. ITS A beautiful restaurant, the service is fast and the staff is friendly. Definitely a friendly staff makes me come back to a restaurant. The food was yummy!! Try the chicken mei fun. It's my favorite dish when I go there. I never eat the whole plate and I always bring home. Nice portion size.

We ordered a meal for 4 people last night via Indian Chefs website which was ready for collection at the exact time specified on our order.The food was absolutely delicious with very generous portion sizes too and some very welcome free extras added FOC.My girlfriend stayed with the tried and tested Chicken Madras (which she stated more than once, was the best she had ever had).Our friends girlfriend had the Chicken Pathia which she absolutely loved.Both my friend and I went “off piste” with our meal options and thoroughly enjoyed our choices of Manchurian chicken and Murgh Panka. Really pleased I tried something new as I will definitely have it again.Every part of meal from the starters, main courses and all sundries were fantastic.I will honestly give indian Chef 10 out of 10 and can not wait to return.

I’ve been here a few times. It doesn’t standout from the street, and the name isn’t as ‘hip’ as it could be, but the ambiance is perfect. I would recommend getting the dim sum palace and a specialty sushi roll or some other small plates. Honestly a decent spot for a romantic date if you can get a booth in the back. Solid bar/beer selection. Good happy hour specials.

Chef 28 offers a great asian food experience from too to bottom. Service is quick and they cater to all your needs, especially for those with allergies. As a growing restaurant they are growing with more and more options, so you may need to stop by more than once! Happy hour deals here are also the cheapest in ny, and they now serve bubble tea for pickup and delivery!

Nice ambience and good location. Excellent service and quality food. Good place for Vegetarians.they have too many options for food and drinks.We tried Japanese whiskey which was excellent. Well priced and prompt service. A big thank to Michelle for being a good host. Happy hour is the best time to visit. Good place to hangout.

Chef 28 exceeded our expectations. We were just looking for a quick bite, however we greatly enjoyed the ambience and ended up staying much longer than we originally expected. The service was great. Our server was very attentive, gave us great tips and provided us excellent service. The food was very tasty, came out quick and was well priced. I would recommend Chef 28 to anyone looking for a great bite and ambience.i would also recommend going during the happy hour which is from 4-9 and you’ll not only get half priced drinks but appetizers and small bites at a hide discount.

Chef 28 has surprised us in a positve way big time. First of all the service is nice and polite. Even though we arrived 45 min before the happy hour started the owner lady has taken care of us and provided us the happy hour prices. Frurthermore the food was above expectation. The hot and sour soup was balanced, the sushi was fresh and tasted great and the chickenwings was just as it should be. We recommand this place warmly :)

for the last 15 years, no matter where i order from, i always order the same thing. So, i have a pretty good idea how my order should be, and how it should taste. Indian Chef never fails to be top notch.. The new management is very welcoming, and i think its important to note this. there is a lot that can be said for establishments who do not really care about their customers, they just want to take your order and money, so when you find a welcoming voice on the telephone, that is genuinely interested in how they can be of service, and if they can improve, i feel credit is due. If you happen to be new to the area, or maybe just want to go wild and try some indian cuisine for the first time, i would recommend this place. keep up the great work. Thedelivery alwso

Hi people we ordered curry from Indian chef today after listening to my friends how tasty food was... we normal go indian restaurant which is average but we have no choice unless we travel Banbury or daventry. But we thought we will try Indian chef last weekend we order by phone gentleman answer phone was very polite and helpfull. Our order took 1hr 20min but they did say, they are busy which was fine. Food came hot and so delicious even my young daughter loved the food. Even we got email to say our food dispatch and we got our table ready and email again to say how was our food, we were so impressed with very touch service. Thank you Indian chef we will be back :-)

We have been getting our curry hit from the Indian chef since the day it opened. Won't go anywhere else. Food is fresh , tasty and always prepared well. Staff are friendly and helpful and always happy to prepare something not on the menu , highly recommended.
