Really bad experience with this place last week.. 3 times the delivery driver had to come back due to the restaurant forgetting items in the bag and even after the third attempt... 1 item was missing which I did not call back as felt sorry for the delivery driver.Chicken must be from frozen and 100% not in the tandoori oven like most Indian restaurants...this is like pre cooked chicken from Iceland with cheap sauce on top.So many other better Indian restaurants in Daventry...100% would not recommend this place.

15yrs with my previous takeaway for my weekly Indian meal, so it was never going to be easy to settle with another one. We have been suing these guys since May 2020 and have to say that their service and food quality is pretty good, in fact let me say outstanding. Every delivery is perfect, on time, hot, and always correct. The driver/s are always very friendly and reliable too. Not much more to say other than we will continue to use these guys, as to date everything has been faultless.Many thanksThe Taylor-Bonds

We ordered an Indian for New Year’s Eve to which they the. Told us it would be an hour and a half wait. Which we agreed as we knew it would be busy. I told them I was paying by card, they then proceeded to tell me that someone would be in contact within the next half an hour to take the payment over the phone. No one did. So we called a fair few times, we went straight to voice mail which we thought we might have done as it is so busy. We eventually got threw to them when our food was suppose to have been delivered. They proceeded to tell us that they have no information or order for our address and were very rude on the phone.Would not recommend at all.Clearly taken on too much.

Ordered carry out for delivery. Food arrived an hour late after 2 chase up calls and missing one main course dish.Phoned to inform them. Basically, they denied it!! And refused to refund cost.Very clear that one dish was missing. ANY reputable organisation would accept this and, as a minimum, refund the cost of the missing dish.Very poor.

Steer away.Rude staff. Luke warm food.Will never use them againIt just goes to show we are not the only ones let down from previous terrible reviews.Plus we waited for over an hour and a half for the food only to be told the drivers were not allowed out to deliver. Why offer a take away service when you cannot deliver.Avoid at all costs.

Since moving to the area last year we have been to this restaurant a few times, and have always thoroughly enjoyed our meals.Having visited again last night, we enjoyed amazing food and the service was very professional and friendly. Spot on!We would recommend their buffet deal as it is fantastic value, but doesn't compromise on taste, portion size or range of food available. This place remains one of the best Indian restaurants we have been to, and we have been to many! The surroundings are relaxed and comfortable, not pretentious, and this complements the food perfectly for an all round superb dining experience.

Fantastic food, reasonably priced, great staff who are very attentive. The seating and decor is showing it's age but for the price it was more than acceptable.I was amazed at the speed of of service, the food was exceedingly tasty and obviously freshly cooked.I had pilau rice which was exceptionally tasty, possibly the best I have ever had.

Went out on Friday with the family for a Christmas curry to celebrate breaking up for the holidays. Great food & service. Well done! Staff couldn't have been nicer and all of the food was outstanding

We have recently relocated to the area and saw a leaflet for the Culinary Indian's Banquet Night (Wednesday & Sunday weekly).We visited last night (Sunday) without a booking and we were very warmly greeted and quickly seated. The service was superb, attentative but discreet, and we had pompadoms while we waited for the starters/main course. These were served with a delicious chutney and relish selection (small additional charge for the chutney & relishes, but well worth it!).The starters and main courses were amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. We have eaten at plenty of Inidian restaurants, including those with a Michelin Star, and the food we had here was amongst the best we have ever had!Although we opted for the Banquet Night deal, the portion sizes were plentiful and generous. This deal is fantastic value for money and we will definately be returning!We couldn't fault anything from our experience here, just lots of positive praise, and we feel very lucky to now have this place on our doorstep.

We visited the Culinary Indian on a Sunday evening, where we were presented with the Banquet menu.(which is a choice of nearly everything on the main menu).The staff were brilliant & had there work cut out as there was nine of us to please! With such a big order the staff coped very well to feed all of us at the same time. The food was excellent, & there was very little wasted. This was excellent value for money & we will be back for more!

Whilst staying at Hellidon Lakes we fancied a change so gave Daventry a try, came across the Culinary Indian by chance.No wait even though it was a Saturday night,Ordered starters which were excellent wife says the Garlic King Prawn was the best she has had, my mixed Kebabs were very good.Our mains of Malaya Chicken and Chicken Korma with Pilau Rice and Garlic Naan we’re both tasty and filling.With drinks and a total bill of £41 we were very happy.The staff were all very pleasant and certainly nothing like the previous reviews.Had we read the last few we probably would not have tried but are so glad we did.If back in the area it is certainly top of our list to go back to.

Was recommended this curry house by a friend of mine. Had a curry ordered and delivered last Friday night. The Lamb Koria which I ordered would be best described as chewy, tough and didn't reflect anything like lamb should be which is tender. I made a lamb curry tonight from the rest of a weekend leg of lamb and that was tender and didn't take 5 minutes to attempt to chew and digest. Would not recommend to anyone, I certainly would be using this restaurant again. 1 star because you cant give zero.

With culinary in your name I was expecting a great meal, very disappointed seemed bland and everything tasted the same just with a change of colour also over priced will not be visiting again when up that way

We have used both the takeaway and the restaurant and have always enjoyed our meals. Food is always hot on delivery and is delivered in what time has been stated when ordered. Service inside Was lovely very happy to help with whatever they can and have a chat and a joke with us. Will definately use again

We were a party of 5 and enjoyed the amazing hospitality offered by the manager and staff. We each had a starter, which was followed by the main courses with all the usual sides. All food was very tasty, of a very high standard and presented well.We all had a very enjoyable night and I would definitely return with friends and/or family.

After being spoken to very rudely at Middlemore Farm earlier, it was refreshing to be warmly greeted here.There is a comprehensive menu at reasonable prices and we were spoilt for choice.Can highly recomend this place. The service was polite and efficient, the food was lovely and we will certainly return.

Waitress was friendly and beer was ok. Can't really comment on the food as we left after 90 minutes to go to Weatherspoon! Won't bother going back to find out if they actually serve any curry.Nice waitress who kept apologising for the wait. Never saw any management. Awful.

Easy to park just outside even on a Friday. There were 8 of us including my parents so had a variant of ages from 30- 80. My first reaction on arrival was it looked very small but as we found out more tables are at the rear for larger parties and seclusion. We were greeted with a smile and a handshake and asked if we would like a drink...First time for Mum & Dad at an Indian...The manager even brought a sample of Dansakto the table for them to try before they ordered, how good was thatThe following food was fantastic and very tasty, one of the best for a very long time. I've read other reviews both good and not so but I think having spoken to the management, they have taken all below par reviews on board and are making a real effort to put things in place to make your visit an enjoyable one. We will certainly return albeit a 20 mile round journey...

Had both takeaway and eaten in and always been lovely, tasty food. Would highly recommend. Always collected and phones the order through as don't trust Just Eat anymore!

Where shall I start ! Came at 7.00 whole restaurant was empty which was a dissapointtment like I was at a funeral staff are ridiculous no lack of knowledge how to greet or seat customers the food was like it was microwaved I suggest I'll stick to my usual !! Will not recommended

Rude, lying staff, waited over 90 mins for a 40 minute order to be rudely addressed by the prospectless man on the phone. He lied trying to tell me we had been told initially the order would be 90 mins when we ordered however this was not true. 60 mins into waiting I called and had been advised the driver was 5 minutes away, after 90 minutes I had called them out on the food. I never received my order and I'm glad. This place is poison and there's a good reason this place in so low in the Daventry ratings for restaurants. No44 out of 58 I think that's generous.To the rude man on the phone......get a real job and learn some manners

Placed order via Just Eat 19.11 with a confirmed delivery of 20:00. That was the pushed back to 20:30. At 20:35 I called the restaurant directly and it took 9 attempts for someone to answer the phone.Samad had no clue as to what was going on with the order but assured me it was en route. I was also assured that I would receive a call back to advise on delivery time but no calls were received.The last conversation I had with the restaurant resulted in me being verbally abused with language of an extremely offensive nature. The member of staff said he hated his job and he was leaving tomorrow anyway and didn’t care about his poor service.I asked for a refund and was told it wasn’t possible. Why not? After a long day at work, I should not be in a position where food takes over 2 hours to arrive.After paying £20 through the website, I was well within my rights to call and query the delivery time. I work as a Senior Manager in Retail and I have never been spoken to in such a disgusting manner. I will personally make a concerted effort from now on to warn people about this restaurant and its abhorrent treatment of paying customers! It is 21:19 and the time of writing this and the food has still not arrived! The microwave is on standby!

The staff took a long time to find extra seating for 20 guests, despite being told in advance. Once they had, they placed the table away from the rest of the group, meaning there were 4 of us that could not socialise with the others. The staff then failed to produce any cutlery despite numerous reminders, so when the food finally arrived, after over an hour, it could not be served. One of the meals in the group took an extra half an hour to materialise. By the time all the meals arrived, the food was all cold. Worst service I've ever had in Daventry and will not be visiting again, and I warn against anyone else visiting as it is a complete waste of money.

Visited on Sunday evening for my brothers birthday and cannot fault the food which was tasty and hot with just the right portion size. When we asked for the sweet menu (after already being told the Sunday special deal wasn't available) we are told there weren't any as the menu was being reviewed. He was so rude and the way he talked to us left a lot to be desired. We have been there many times but this will be the last. Food 8/10. Customer Service 0/10.

Didn't appreciate the attitude of the proprietor when we questioned why there wasn't the Sunday offer available and also why there were no desserts. We were informed that the menu was being changed, which we maintain should have been mentioned right at the start, and anyway when you run a business you ensure that the menu is up to date. He was very dismissive to the point of rudeness, commenting that not many people wanted a dessert, obviously the five of us must be quite odd!!!. Very surprised as I have always found the Indians to be really helpful, polite and respectful towards their customers. We certainly won't be going back again.

This isn't usually our first choice for a curry in Daventry - only because we like where we normally go but they were closed on a Tuesday! Very glad we did come in. We hadn't booked but were shown to a table with minimal wait.We ordered the usual popadums and pickles and drinks which all came very quickly. We also had the mixed starters to share and these were delicious. The various curries were ordered were as we expected from the menu - there is plenty of variety - I had the Bahar Chicken and would order again - superb. The naans were the best we've had in a long time.If I'd read the reviews before we might not have come but we're glad we did, will be back and maybe have a take away too. Thanks.

We ordered take from here but food was so terrible we didn't even finish it. Will stick to Asia in the future.

First of all they are not Indian !They are from Bangladesh After a wait of 15 minutes we asked when the samosas were going to be served. We were told they will be served with main dishes since we didn't ask them to be served first. Well we assumed since they are 'starters' they will be served 'before the meal'. We were told it was our fault since we didn't say we wanted them earlier. Some more wait and we ask when the meal would be served. Then the waiter says "if you ask me to bring food now it will be bad. Not properly cooked. Then don't blame me". WHAT????No "I will go see if I can rush it' or "sorry for the delay" ... seriously, do I even want to stay there after that?Absolutely rude!

Do not use this place. They serve poor quality food. Warm drinks and can't take criticism. On complaint of having warm drinks was told it was my fault as if had a couple of pints earlier. The staff are rude and incompetent with customer service skills.It's no wander this place was empty at 10pn on a Saturday night.I was even told I wasn't welcome back to this joke of an Indian restaurant.As if I'd want to the way we were treated.Any one reading this PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE.TOTAL RIP OFF.Try Abduls further up the High Street or Aisa on Warwick Street where ad a paying customer you get treated with respect.Just AVOID CULINARY INDIAN.Why give rude incompetent people your hard earned cash.TRUST ME YOU DON'T WANT TO GO HERE.

I visited on their Buffet night, and for £9.99 I had a superb meal, cooked to perfection. Extremely outstanding value for money. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone, well worth a visit!

So decided to try this after a delicious hot take away from just eat our usual is the Asia in Daventry. No ambiance at all in the restaurant and the Service was not attentive with us having to prompt drinks bill etc! The young bearded waiter was almost arrogant! Food although tasty was not hot at all almost microwaved as there was the odd pocket of heat. Very disappointed and won't go here again

After some suggestion we tried this place, but we were very disappointed by the food. The chicken was very stiff and the size of roti was double than the regular roti, and on top of it both of the item was not authentic. Once the bill came, I realised that they just changes the name of the restaurant from their previous name "Shahi Lounge" as the bill still had that name crossed with pen. I would not recommend this place if you are in search of authentic Indian food.

We visited this restaurant some weeks ago. The meal was OK, though the meat was a bit tough. We received a 10% loyalty card at the time.Last week we were in a pub close by with our daughter so decided to visit again..First impression: this was 21:30 on a Friday night and there was only one other table occupied. A bad sign. They left, leaving just us 3. So, the food. My wife ordered a glass of beer which arrived with some additional greenery. Maybe a bit of lettuce in it, not sure. Anyway, first complaint but it was replaced. We ordered the main meals. My wife's side dish didn't arrive so had to be ordered again. My lamb naga had transformed on the way from the kitchen into a chicken naga. This was replaced with the correct one after an inevitable delay. My daughter ordered a butter chicken and it's like nothing I've seen before. It was like chicken in porridge and about as bland. Again, a complaint and it was replaced with a korma which was OK. The lamb was tough again. My wife had to leave several pieces because there were inedible. Anyway, we finished and asked for the bill and having said already we had a loyalty card, the 10% wasn't deducted so the bill had to be rewritten. We all agreed at the end of this there was certainly a bit of 'attitude' from both members of staff.On top of this it looked as though somebody had had a poppadum fight because there were bits all over the carpet. The waiter seemed more interested in playing on his phone than getting the hoover out.. We normally go to restaurants where we don't have to complain and to have to get so many things rectified really spoiled the whole meal. The defence against this is that everything was rectified. That's not the point; so many things wrong and having to complain puts a dampener on the whole evening. I don't think we'll be returning. Anybody want a loyalty card?

Having visited "The Culinary Indian" last, the experience was thoroughly enjoyable as a couple. On entry, the restaurant area is clean and bright with a modern feel and décor to match.An unusual section of Chicken Tikka ‘Achari’, Chicken Tikka ‘Rezala’ (My favourite), ‘Brinjal Bhaji’, lemon rice, ‘Sag paneer’ and a naan bread was selected from the "Chefs Recommendations" section and thoroughly enjoyed. I like my rice fluffy & cooked well, which did NOT disappoint, and was almost perfection. The spicing was delicate, with enough “Heat” to deliver a satisfying taste. Fearful at the start that the portion sizes were going to be small, but this was NOT to be. Put it like this, you will not be leaving feeling hungry…….Service was extremely polite and swift, but we didn’t feel rushed, if you know what I mean. Serving “Bangla Beer” on draught was a treat and complemented the cuisine perfectly.Enough about the beer (But it was good), as mentioned before the overall experience was a treat, and will return again to “The Culinary Indian Restaurant”. WELL DONE.
