Excellent surroundings and food with great service

Came for my friends birthday. Excellent service to say there was quite a few of us. Food was nice and hot. Very tentative staff who looked after our every need.

This was a last minute booking for Sunday lunch with family. The food was delicious. I had the roast chicken and it was fabulous and very filling. The waiting staff were very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our visit and had everything we needed, although the duvet could have been a little bigger. Food was lovely, cooked to order and hot. Excellent atmosphere. Staff very friendly. Would happily book another stay there. Many visiting places within easy reach.

Had a fantastic family meal out at Woodcocks. We were a table of 15 and looked after by Amy who was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and the food was excellent.

Our first visit and was pleasantly surprised. Head and shoulders above similar establishments offering the same service. Staff helpful, food hot and plentiful and in a perfect location.

Staff friendly, helpful, prompt, professional and quick. Food good. All round great time. Not overly expensive either.

Great visit for a lovely meal in a friendly armosphere

Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. We reserved a table for 10 Inc two babies and were put on a table in an area perfect for us with worrying about other diners being disturbed. Thank you!

Easy to book a table on line. Greeted at the door by a staff member who shows you to a table. Staff serve you at your table for drinks & food orders. Food very nice & hot. About a 40 min wait but the pub was busy. Paid at the bar. Nice big free car park. Would recommend a visit.

A good sized pub in a great location with a nice sized outdoor play area. Food was typical standard pub fayre and ok, with a reasonable gluten free selection. Service was a little hit & miss, but it was just after Christmas when we went. A big plus point, is how dog friendly the place is. We'll call again, as it's handy for meeting family and near to work for me

We had the festive menu because when we booked online it was implied that we had no choice but to. So when we saw others ordering from the normal menu we were disappointed as we would’ve preferred that. To add to our disappointment we then found our food to be below standard. Some of our group had the lamb shank and it arrived as if it were a soup, swimming in gravy. My father couldn’t eat his so swapped it with my husband’s as he had slightly less gravy. I had the turkey and it too was well below standard. All the ingredients on my plate seemed old and not freshly cooked. The roast potatoes was particularly hard and well overcooked making them inedible. We were all utterly disappointed that we’d paid above the odds for a Boxing Day meal which was way below the standard of your normal food. As emergency service workers we usually benefit from having a bluelight card discount. We were told it wasn’t accepted on the festive menu. We totally understand this but this along with the fact that we had a poor and expensive meal rubbed salt in our wounds. I would’ve complained on the night but I didn’t want to have cross words on a family occasion and on Boxing Day. I wanted it to be a happy event. This is the first time we’ve paid to go out over the festive period and we won’t be again. We don’t want to risk it.

Could not fault Woodcocks. Despite being very busy, the service was quick and the food hot, plentiful and very good. Very pleasant staff too.

3rd time for boxing day 3course meal not as good as previous years nice staff and good service but let down by the food shame always looked forward to going for festive boxing day meal perhaps not next year.

A nice, cosy venue. I haven't eaten here, as I came for a networking event. However, I had coffee from the self-serve bean-to-cup machine and can only say that I'll be having tea next time!

My experience was a very positive one. I was welcomed at the door and shown to my table. Someone then came over to confirm my pre order for the festive meal. Drinks took a while to reach me, but pleasant enough when received. I chose Old Empire IPA, which was OK, but wasn't quite as it should be, as the taste normally has a full bodies flavour. This did not and tasted a little watery. Both Starter and Main were very good and everything was hot enough. I requested the Dessert was boxed up and this was carried out as per requested. Overall very good.

So we attended Breakfast with santa. It was brilliant! I couldn’t recommend enough! Worth every penny. The staff were brilliant nothing was too much. Santa, Elf and Grinch did an amazing job! We were so lucky to be last to see Santa because we got a photo with everyone! Even being the last ones they didn’t rush us at all. Credit where credit is due for everyone involved.

We have just had a family get together for Christmas at Woodcocks Lincoln. There were 20 of us so a big group to look after. Some of us had the festive set menu and some had meals off the main menu. Everybody’s food came out at the same time, was lovely and hot. I had the festive 3 course menu for £22.99 and it was fantastic value for money. All 3 courses were large in size. The turkey was proper turkey with a really good selection of veg. The staff were brilliant and the service was really good. i have been to 3 other restaurants recently for Christmas meals and Woodcocks has been the best yet for taste and value. Definitely recommend.

My wife and I have visited Woodcocks many times recently as we found it to be very pleasant. Nice location, good choice and standard of food, location and decent prices.

For lovely cheap food, buy one get one free, that's so much better than normal cheap pub grub. With a huge selection on the menu plus a specials board as well. And all in lovely surroundings with lots of free parking. Also plenty of seating areas in the garden to eat outside. There's also a pick and mix children's menu. And when the little ones have finished eating there's a play area for them. We have always had good service and food here.

We had a Xmas lunch for our Walking Football Club (Lincoln Invictus) for 51 people. The food and service was fantastic and huge congratulations Kerry, Matt and the team for making it a fabulous afternoon and have already received messages on saying how much they enjoyed it. 4 of us was there last night and it wasn't very good at all. My medium rare was well done and hard to chew, my wife's sirloin was more like a medium!/well done when she wanted a rare. We was waiting far too long for service. The ladies toilet cubicles had sick on the wall and floor. Not at all like the last ti. E we dined there, years ago. Didn't comment then as we shall never go there again

Went yesterday for our Christmas Lunch on Our 36th Wedding Anniversary and sat at our favourite table No 39. Brilliant service, excellent food and plentiful. Will always be a favourite for us all year round. Happy Christmas to all the Staff.

Booked for sons 18th birthday meal, excellent customer service from the two ladies serving us and the lad behind the bar was also fantastic. Overall very accommodating, food was brilliant out in a timley manner. The waitress helped us with takeaway tubs to take cake and cupcakes away for the guests, nothing was too much trouble. Woodcocks is one of our go to pubs in Lincoln always a guarentee the food, service and good value is always had. We will be back soon and always recommend woodcocks to Friends and family.

Nice food .... service was a bit slow, and maybe some rules should be in place to stop the children running around your table screaming while you are eating. They were just children doing what children do.

This is our first visit to Woodcocks, it won't be the last. We have a family room, which was clean, warm and comfortable. We ate at the pub, and had 3 superb meals for £14.00 a head. Very freindly staff.

What a great experience! The atmosphere in Woodcocks is superb, and the food and service match this perfectly. The food is fresh and hearty, and it is refreshing to find a good old fashioned pub with good old fashioned pub food.

I had a great experience at Woodcocks. The atmosphere was cozy, the food was delicious —especially the chicken pieces and chips — and the staff was excellent. A special shoutout to Jasmine, who was particularly friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a trip back!

Ordering was simple and reasonably swift, short wait for delivery of mains, food excellent for all 4 of us, waited more than 20 minutes for table clearing and desserts, had to then find a staff member to clear table and bring desserts which were really good. So overall food is good service exceedingly slow, meal prices reasonable but drinks expensive

This was a birthday meal for my wife with a total of 16 family members invited. Service was spot on, all food orders came out together, quality of food was excellent. The waitress was attentive, polite and made us feel very welcome.

Always get a good meal here, and the prices are reasonable, nice in the summer when you can sit outside.

Very disappointed to find my daughter's food taken when she went toilet. She was distressed and crying. Never going here again. Horrific experience.

Stayed over at the hotel. Comfortable beds, nice rooms. Great location. Nice food and an excellent breakfast!!

Online booking system is great, no waiting for a table at our allotted time slot, friendly and courteous staff.

Went for my wife's birthday. She ordered fish and chips. When it arrived it was almost burnt and batter was rock hard. We were told that the cooking oil needed changing so couldn't guarantee that a replacement one would be any better. Spoilt the occasion. Won't be going back again

Expected another pile it high, sell it cheap pub but the food was good and the prices hard to beat. Service was a little slow but it was worth it.

Service was fast and friendly. Seated us even though we were 20mins early to our booking. Food came at very quickly and was great for the price.

Room suited our stay for 1 night, bed comfy bathroom spotlessly clean and shower hot and powerful, plenty of fluffy towels. Site confusing didn't allow me to book 1 full and 1 continental breakfast on site but staff sorted it. Didn't like the porridge pots so unfortunately 1 spoon was enough, would prefer hot option of cooked porridge please :). Yoghurt and berries good but not offered until we asked. good selection available and cooked breakfast good for husband. Even cleaners said good morning which is nice. Easy check in check out. Plenty of parking. Someone had removed the batteries form the remote control, we were out most of time so not that inconvenient did notify cleaner and no hanger on door for don't disturb. Pet hate of ours is that menus are always tacky ie needing a clean and the sauces dont' have use by date on them (some should be kept in fridge or once opened used within a couple of months) I've seen some places do that in Australia and Canada.

Stayed at the hotel for one night. Booking.com labels it 4* but that has to be a lie? The door to the room was sticky, like someone had poured cola on it. The carpets had patchy stains that I reckon are mould. The mattress is clearly ancient, hard as a rock and lumpy. The pillows are flat and hard. The room smelt like mould and stale beer. The decor is ancient but frankly that’s the least of my concerns considering everything else. I would never stay again.

Rachel was an absolute superstar to our family last night. Having an autistic child can often mean eating out can be tricky. Rachel made the whole experience easy and friendly. She even helped out when our daughter needed to take her medication. Thank you so much!!

Sat at the pre booked table at 6.15. No service by 6.45. Tried the Q code app at 6.45 (in desperation). That was hard work. At 7.15 asked staff if the app was real or a figment of my imagination. Told it was real and that the food was being cooked. 7.45 got our food. Two pensioners with mobility issues and a bored teenager included in our party. Painful. (management- table 29 on 24th October). I know the catering industry is very hard (I used to work in it) but if you can't cope with the numbers - reduce them. To be fair, it was so bad that by the end of it we were all laughing! Food was fantastic, as always.

First visit on the recommendation of a friend. Impressed. Lovely place, pleasant staff, superb food and reasonably priced. Three of us are at Woodcocks for the same price as two of us at well know restaurant chain (they eat beef).

Lovely attentive staff member who served us. Food was delicious and generous portions. Prices are reasonable. Place is clean and spacious so you are not squeezed near other guests. Daughter loves the play area. Although it was a very long long long time ago you used to do a Creme brulé Ice Cream Sundae. (Back in the 2 4 1 days) We would love it if that ever made a comeback.

Not as great as it was the last time I went. Food was a little well done, fries were soggy, just not as enjoyable as I had hoped.

Our family go to restaurant. Always good food, good menu and always great staff. Helpful and happy to help. Never had and problems ever.

Very disappointing experience. Went on recommendation of someone in our party. It was early 11.55. We had booked with a dog so was told it was going to be on the tiled area. This wasn’t a problem. No-one came with a menu so I sourced my own, no-one came to take our order, so we went to the bar. We needed to get the attention of the staff who were chatting to each other. The glass was dirty, so it was changed. We didn’t have any allergies and we weren’t asked about this or if we wanted any changes or additions to the menu. Our food arrived, there was no cutlery, or condiments so again I sorted this myself. The staff didn’t seem like they wanted to work. No-one came to ask how our food was and they didn’t even ask when we paid. The food itself was of a poor standard, steak pie had very little meat, steak in the surf and turf wasn’t great. Spicy burger was ok. On the whole we wouldn’t go back any time soon.

Up until the recent visit, this was our favourite place to get a meal. Normally cuttelry and sauces are brought to the table, on this occasion when the starters were 'dumped' on the table, we were told that we could get our cuttelry and sauces towards the end of the bar. This meant food going cold whilst we did this. We had issues with the app trying to order fries instead of chips, when the meals came the chips and fries were mixed up on the meals. We ordered a medium steak which when arrived was well done and very tough. To top it off 3 youths who were playing pool decided to go out of the fire exit and hold it open while they smoked so we got cigarette smoke while we're were finishing our meal. This put us off ordering a dessert and we left. Overall a very dissapointing experience this time, if some of these things are due to a change in staff and policy, it is time to find a new favourite.

Had Sunday lunch on the 13th October. .lovely clean pub..waiter/waitress smartly dressed and clean..lunch was plenty full the beef melted in your mouth..I shall be visiting again..

Stayed at the hotel for 1 night. Fantastic stay. Easy check in and out. Big, soft comfortable bed and lovely pillows for a great night's sleep. Good pressure and very hot water in shower. Very safe and secure with 2 access keys for main door and room door. Plenty of car parking next to pub and hotel. Food and drinks menu looked good but I didn't have anything so cannot comment. Would definitely stay again.

Sadly it was a disappointment when we visited tonight. We had booked a table and were happy with where we where seated but after 15 minutes it was unclear as if we needed to order at the bar because some tables were recieving table service but no one had checked back with us so ordered and paid for food and drinks at the bar, after waiting in a queue for several minutes. When we asked how long our food was going to be because we had waited 45 mins from ordering, we were told it was an hour wait from ordering which had not been told to us initially. When mine and my husbands steaks arrived, mine was well over cooked but it was very clear that over half the steak was gristle and fat so couldn't be eaten. My husband's was cooked fine, but again he had to leave almost half due to fat and gristle. It would have been clear prior to cooking that these steaks were not in fact up to standard and when you are paying £15.99 for a steak is not acceptable. Also, to be picky but the peas varied in colour, some had clearly been sat for a long period of time and the rest of the accompaniments were ok but not great to be honest. At no point did any staff come over to ask if the meal was ok. After 25 mins of finishing the meal, and a pudding being ordered for our child, when it was brought to the table, the member of staff started to clear the plates. We shared our thoughts regarding the quality of the steak which he said he would pass on but then disappeared and left the rest of the plates. We've both worked in hospitality for a long time so we're mindful not to be rude. As we were about to leave we were asked if everything was OK to which we shared that our visit had been disappointing. We were offered a drink but it was clear we were about to leave and to be fair, her apology was so disingenuous, it was evident she couldn't care less...she continued to wipe down the table next to us whilst saying "I'll tell our suppliers about the steaks". Tonight's Bill was just over £100 for 3 x adults and a child, wish we had got a take away instead! Won't be rushing back or recommending!!

Very very slow service. The waiters seemed more interested in attending tables with large amounts of people. Would have been very easy to dine and dash because of the lack of attention. Ordered an apple pie for desert and it never arrived. Can only assume the waiter forgot to order it. After 40 minutes, gave up waiting and asked for the bill. Probably would not come again on a Saturday evening and would not recommend unless you're in a large group.
