This is our first visit to Woodcocks, it won't be the last. We have a family room, which was clean, warm and comfortable. We ate at the pub, and had 3 superb meals for £14.00 a head. Very freindly staff.

What a great experience! The atmosphere in Woodcocks is superb, and the food and service match this perfectly. The food is fresh and hearty, and it is refreshing to find a good old fashioned pub with good old fashioned pub food.

I had a great experience at Woodcocks. The atmosphere was cozy, the food was delicious —especially the chicken pieces and chips — and the staff was excellent. A special shoutout to Jasmine, who was particularly friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a trip back!

Ordering was simple and reasonably swift, short wait for delivery of mains, food excellent for all 4 of us, waited more than 20 minutes for table clearing and desserts, had to then find a staff member to clear table and bring desserts which were really good. So overall food is good service exceedingly slow, meal prices reasonable but drinks expensive

This was a birthday meal for my wife with a total of 16 family members invited. Service was spot on, all food orders came out together, quality of food was excellent. The waitress was attentive, polite and made us feel very welcome.

Always get a good meal here, and the prices are reasonable, nice in the summer when you can sit outside.

A great place to hold a business meeting

Stayed over at the hotel. Comfortable beds, nice rooms. Great location. Nice food and an excellent breakfast!!

Online booking system is great, no waiting for a table at our allotted time slot, friendly and courteous staff.

Went for my wife's birthday. She ordered fish and chips. When it arrived it was almost burnt and batter was rock hard. We were told that the cooking oil needed changing so couldn't guarantee that a replacement one would be any better. Spoilt the occasion. Won't be going back again

Fantastic food and exceptional service

Expected another pile it high, sell it cheap pub but the food was good and the prices hard to beat. Service was a little slow but it was worth it.

Service was fast and friendly. Seated us even though we were 20mins early to our booking. Food came at very quickly and was great for the price.

Room suited our stay for 1 night, bed comfy bathroom spotlessly clean and shower hot and powerful, plenty of fluffy towels. Site confusing didn't allow me to book 1 full and 1 continental breakfast on site but staff sorted it. Didn't like the porridge pots so unfortunately 1 spoon was enough, would prefer hot option of cooked porridge please :). Yoghurt and berries good but not offered until we asked. good selection available and cooked breakfast good for husband. Even cleaners said good morning which is nice. Easy check in check out. Plenty of parking. Someone had removed the batteries form the remote control, we were out most of time so not that inconvenient did notify cleaner and no hanger on door for don't disturb. Pet hate of ours is that menus are always tacky ie needing a clean and the sauces dont' have use by date on them (some should be kept in fridge or once opened used within a couple of months) I've seen some places do that in Australia and Canada.

Stayed at the hotel for one night. Booking.com labels it 4* but that has to be a lie? The door to the room was sticky, like someone had poured cola on it. The carpets had patchy stains that I reckon are mould. The mattress is clearly ancient, hard as a rock and lumpy. The pillows are flat and hard. The room smelt like mould and stale beer. The decor is ancient but frankly that’s the least of my concerns considering everything else. I would never stay again.

Sat at the pre booked table at 6.15. No service by 6.45. Tried the Q code app at 6.45 (in desperation). That was hard work. At 7.15 asked staff if the app was real or a figment of my imagination. Told it was real and that the food was being cooked. 7.45 got our food. Two pensioners with mobility issues and a bored teenager included in our party. Painful. (management- table 29 on 24th October). I know the catering industry is very hard (I used to work in it) but if you can't cope with the numbers - reduce them. To be fair, it was so bad that by the end of it we were all laughing! Food was fantastic, as always.

Rachel was an absolute superstar to our family last night. Having an autistic child can often mean eating out can be tricky. Rachel made the whole experience easy and friendly. She even helped out when our daughter needed to take her medication. Thank you so much!!

First visit on the recommendation of a friend. Impressed. Lovely place, pleasant staff, superb food and reasonably priced. Three of us are at Woodcocks for the same price as two of us at well know restaurant chain (they eat beef).

Lovely attentive staff member who served us. Food was delicious and generous portions. Prices are reasonable. Place is clean and spacious so you are not squeezed near other guests. Daughter loves the play area. Although it was a very long long long time ago you used to do a Creme brulé Ice Cream Sundae. (Back in the 2 4 1 days) We would love it if that ever made a comeback.

Not as great as it was the last time I went. Food was a little well done, fries were soggy, just not as enjoyable as I had hoped.

Very disappointing experience. Went on recommendation of someone in our party. It was early 11.55. We had booked with a dog so was told it was going to be on the tiled area. This wasn’t a problem. No-one came with a menu so I sourced my own, no-one came to take our order, so we went to the bar. We needed to get the attention of the staff who were chatting to each other. The glass was dirty, so it was changed. We didn’t have any allergies and we weren’t asked about this or if we wanted any changes or additions to the menu. Our food arrived, there was no cutlery, or condiments so again I sorted this myself. The staff didn’t seem like they wanted to work. No-one came to ask how our food was and they didn’t even ask when we paid. The food itself was of a poor standard, steak pie had very little meat, steak in the surf and turf wasn’t great. Spicy burger was ok. On the whole we wouldn’t go back any time soon.

Our family go to restaurant. Always good food, good menu and always great staff. Helpful and happy to help. Never had and problems ever.

Up until the recent visit, this was our favourite place to get a meal. Normally cuttelry and sauces are brought to the table, on this occasion when the starters were 'dumped' on the table, we were told that we could get our cuttelry and sauces towards the end of the bar. This meant food going cold whilst we did this. We had issues with the app trying to order fries instead of chips, when the meals came the chips and fries were mixed up on the meals. We ordered a medium steak which when arrived was well done and very tough. To top it off 3 youths who were playing pool decided to go out of the fire exit and hold it open while they smoked so we got cigarette smoke while we're were finishing our meal. This put us off ordering a dessert and we left. Overall a very dissapointing experience this time, if some of these things are due to a change in staff and policy, it is time to find a new favourite.

Had Sunday lunch on the 13th October. .lovely clean pub..waiter/waitress smartly dressed and clean..lunch was plenty full the beef melted in your mouth..I shall be visiting again..

Stayed at the hotel for 1 night. Fantastic stay. Easy check in and out. Big, soft comfortable bed and lovely pillows for a great night's sleep. Good pressure and very hot water in shower. Very safe and secure with 2 access keys for main door and room door. Plenty of car parking next to pub and hotel. Food and drinks menu looked good but I didn't have anything so cannot comment. Would definitely stay again.

Ordered the surt and turf with the steak medium to rare..... came very well done ! Ordered a dessert it never came.... I do believe they look after yhe bigger tables and forget about the 3s and 2s...

Sadly it was a disappointment when we visited tonight. We had booked a table and were happy with where we where seated but after 15 minutes it was unclear as if we needed to order at the bar because some tables were recieving table service but no one had checked back with us so ordered and paid for food and drinks at the bar, after waiting in a queue for several minutes. When we asked how long our food was going to be because we had waited 45 mins from ordering, we were told it was an hour wait from ordering which had not been told to us initially. When mine and my husbands steaks arrived, mine was well over cooked but it was very clear that over half the steak was gristle and fat so couldn't be eaten. My husband's was cooked fine, but again he had to leave almost half due to fat and gristle. It would have been clear prior to cooking that these steaks were not in fact up to standard and when you are paying £15.99 for a steak is not acceptable. Also, to be picky but the peas varied in colour, some had clearly been sat for a long period of time and the rest of the accompaniments were ok but not great to be honest. At no point did any staff come over to ask if the meal was ok. After 25 mins of finishing the meal, and a pudding being ordered for our child, when it was brought to the table, the member of staff started to clear the plates. We shared our thoughts regarding the quality of the steak which he said he would pass on but then disappeared and left the rest of the plates. We've both worked in hospitality for a long time so we're mindful not to be rude. As we were about to leave we were asked if everything was OK to which we shared that our visit had been disappointing. We were offered a drink but it was clear we were about to leave and to be fair, her apology was so disingenuous, it was evident she couldn't care less...she continued to wipe down the table next to us whilst saying "I'll tell our suppliers about the steaks". Tonight's Bill was just over £100 for 3 x adults and a child, wish we had got a take away instead! Won't be rushing back or recommending!!

Very very slow service. The waiters seemed more interested in attending tables with large amounts of people. Would have been very easy to dine and dash because of the lack of attention. Ordered an apple pie for desert and it never arrived. Can only assume the waiter forgot to order it. After 40 minutes, gave up waiting and asked for the bill. Probably would not come again on a Saturday evening and would not recommend unless you're in a large group.

Walked our new to us greyhound and sat in the beer garden for a few pints. Ordered drinks and snacks using the QR code on our table. Service was very good and orders appeared promptly; Charlie (our greyhound) was made to feel welcome.

We had a great meal on Saturday evening at Woodcocks. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, we were seated and served very quickly. Our server, Eleanor, was very professional and attentive. The food was delicious and it was a lovely evening overall. Definitely recommend!

Visited Woodcocks for Sunday lunch. Food was lovely and arrived within sufficent time, even though the pub was fully booked and extremely busy. Service was exceptional. Really enjoyed our visit.

Have been several times. Food is ok considering the prices. Service can be slow, especially after 9pm when the restaurant area is being prepared for the breakfast the next morning and customer service drops off. Shame.

Our waitress Amy (long ponytail) was so helpful and kind. Couldn't do enough for us. Food was lovely. Would come again.

Booked a meal for a party of 8+1, chose this place because of it's central location for all in the group. The place itself is quite nice, nothing special but better than some. Wait was around 40 ish minutes for food but we were told this on arrival so can't complain. Food was great, everybody enjoyed it and pricing was extremely reasonable. Only two real negatives for the visit. 1) The wooden play area for the children is unsafe, a couple of obstacles have loose bolts sticking and aren't stable. 2) The service, we were waited on by a youngish guy called Cory who treated us from the moment we walked in like we'd personally done something to offend him. Everything we asked seemed like we were asking the impossible from his reaction. Ended up getting the bill from one of his colleagues who worked there, she was lovely but sadly didn't catch her name.

I went here with my older Brother whilst visiting him in Sleaford the food was great I had the scampi and chips the portion size was very generous and as I did not want the tartre sauce or peas they left them off. The service was excellent the atmosphere was really lovely an next time I am in the area I would come again. Sorry for previous review but I mixed you up with somewhere else. Great.

A really lovely environment with good food and a fast friendly service.

Very attentive service from the moment of stepping through the entrance. A warm reception and a courteous approach to finding us a table. After a short time our order was taken at the table. Offers and alternatives were suggested, along with side orders and accompaniments to go with our meal. The starter to share was fabulous. The Thursday evening offer of Steak and a drink was excellent. Perfectly cooked and presented.

Our male server had a terrible attitude, told us to stack our own plates, we asked for individual bill and he said he couldn't do that. I asked why he said it was too much messing about for him. Plates from our main were still on our table when they took the dessert order and waiting times where ages. Girl on the bar same fowl attitude, restraining would be an idea, we are a big family of 20 and we dine with you alot. I think this will be changing unfortunately

A nice pub/hotel in beautiful surroundings.

Visited this pub back in august, sat outside in the lovely outdoor space, service with a smile and welcomed by all the staff. Food and drink was 10/10 and price is on point, especially in the current circumstances. Affordable but delicious. Cannot find a fault, will definitely visit again

Great value but queing at the bar 5 mins to get served twice is annoying!

We went for breakfast with Santa as a group of 12. The children had so much fun, the breakfast was lovely and the service was fantastic. This was our 2nd year for Breakfast with Santa and we will definitely be back again. Thank you and Merry Christmas

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles. The staff were incredibly attentive and always ready to help. We stayed in room 212, which was both comfortable and spotlessly clean. We have nothing but positive things to say about our stay. Breakfast was a standout. The coffee was excellent, the continental selection was varied and fresh, and the full English breakfast was superb. I opted for the small portion, and it was more than satisfying. A thoughtful touch was the hot plate, which kept the meal perfectly warm from the first bite to the last. If we're ever in the Lincoln area again, we’ll definitely be staying at Woodcock's.

Walked through the door to be greeted by a women carrying food and she said, ‘oh you’ve got a dog?! You’re over there on the hard floor or in the pool area’. Gesturing with her head. We walked round to the area we were directed to which had only bar stools and high tables or chairs next to the large snooker table, large tv (which was on) and the fruit machine… Lovely! We didn’t expect this poor seating when paying for food at the price we were willing to pay. ‘Dog friendly’!!!! Don’t advertise your place as dog friendly when the owners are treated rudely and are thrown to rear of the worst part of the pub! You need to learn what dog friendly means! Consequently we walked straight out and had a lovely meal, with our dog, at the Pye Wipe just minutes down the road and felt welcomed with wonderful food too.

Waited over a hour for our food. The batter on my fish was burnt and over cooked. The chips were cold. We have been coming here for years. The only decent meal was my child’s. Over £45 paid and it was very disappointing

Nice place for a drink, good priced meals

Overall it was a great meal my kids enjoyed their food and so did us adults, our waiter was lovely, the food took a little longer then I thought it would but it was a Saturday night. The kids enjoyed running around the outside tables in the rain, there was plenty of space

I love Woodcocks, the menu has lots of choice for everyone and the food is always presented well. I bring my family and friends here because I know we won’t be disappointed. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Excellent value for money. Good food but service a little disjointed.

Called for lunch we waited over 45 minutes for our meal, when it arrived the chicken was very dry and the Mac n cheese had no taste.. When we went to pay we we re given the bill for the table next to ours, when we queried it the staff made us feel it was our fault as we gave the correct table number, however un be known to us the tables had been set wrongly

A very busy pub and at times in the evenings you can wait upto an hour for food so avoid the normal busy evenings if poss , the rooms are nice and air conditioned .

It was ok . Underwhelming to be truthful. No Pironi on tap 👎the bar where we were trying to play pool was closed so we needed to queue up with the restaurant customers to get served which took far to long . The darts they had for customers to yours were ridiculous and so we couldn't play . They had no way to do the score either . This would not be in my top 10 places to go for a beer and play some pub games . But the roast dinner was ok

Second visit to the woodcocks pub first time we had the cheese burgers and they were absolutely lovely juicy fresh and filling. This time, I had the fish and chips with mushy peas it was absolutely lovely, lovely crispy batter with melt in your mouth fish I'd highly recommend. My wife had the steak (medium) chips n peas lovely well cooked and all great value for money.

Had a great day of Petanque & enjoyed lunch with new friends. 16 of us visited from the Bourne area to play with the Lincoln Branleys team.

Could not fault Woodcocks. Despite being very busy, the service was quick and the food hot, plentiful and very good. Very pleasant staff too.

Not impressed. My husband and I ordered a pizza to share. after some time, it finally arrived it came on a plate with a table knife, not a pizza cutter. it was clearly too much trouble to give us a side plate each. Didn't remove the dirty dishes or wipe the table to busy on her phone.
