Truly dreadful. Tasteless fish and soggy chips. Avoid!

Really good place for fish and chips. Reasonably priced too

Food portions are small, food is so greasy, service was so slow and almost like staff didn't want to be there

Called today for 2 chip butties. Took my money then decided later that they didn't have any breadcakes so just had 1 Small portion of chips and a chips and cheese. What we actually got were chips totally covered in black bits and barely warm. Wonder when the oil was last changed or at least filtered 🤔 The assistant even used her bare hand to get the cheese out of the box. Use a spoon for gods sake!! Needless to say they went in the bin!! Won't be returning I'm afraid

Nice people, welcoming. Such a relief after the previous owners who were SO unfriendly. Enjoyed being there. Sat at the tables which were clean and comfortable.

Stick to the other chip shops in rasen! Absolutely awful, chips hard and greasy like they have been reheated and drenched in fat. The fish is like a pool of grease aswell as being pink inside. Not sure why this is but it’s gone to waste! Do not recommend stay away!

Avoid, go to Union Jack, or literally anywhere else. Worst pie and chips I've had. Chips were hard (couldn't even stab them with my fork), pie was microwaved and the pastry was flaccid and undercooked. The people wrapping meals clearly haven't worked in a chippy before, half of the parcels came unwrapped and spilt food or salt everywhere in the car. They don't provide carrier bags (we were willing to pay). Far too much salt on the chips and that's excluding the amount that's been left in the car.

Great food and friendly staff. They dont seem to hold anything in the warmer, so even though the food takes a few more minutes everyborder is cooked fresh. Thanks! 👍

Chips reheated in old dirty fat, very dry and hard. Fish batter too soft, under cooked and stuck to the paper on unwrapping. No amount of salt and vinegar could save this.

Chips tasted stale and it was tough to eat . It was like they had been warmed up a few times and the fish tasted off .

The lady is rude and abrupt, the chips are white and hard, the fish soggy like it's been coated it the old bags fanny batter. Disgusting

After a long day out , we wanted a really easy tea ..coming through market rasen on our way home we decided to try this chippy ..I have several allergies that make me very nervous about eating out, the ladies could not have been more helpful checking ingredients even though they are clearly very knowledgeable, but was happy to double check for me ..if only other establishments were like this, living with allergies is very difficult at the best of times I have been many places where they make you feel like a major inconvenience to ask questions..but definitely not here , we shall return and for anyone wondering, the 100% gluten free fish and chips are amazing. My partner had the regular fish and chips which he also really enjoyed, he also tried some of mine , and said that he would be happy to have this himself.... Well done guys super impressed 👍😁

Orderd a chicken kebab and chips when got back and opened it and literally laughed, There was a tiny peice of chicken inside and about 7 chips. Literally took 4/5 bites and it was gone. They was near closing time so totally took the piss. The other halves order wasn't much better either.

Absolutely minging! Avoid!!! Go to union jack or Oxford fisheries so much better food. The chips are soggy and pale, the curry sauce had a blonde hair in and I have red hair. The older lady is rude and needs to learn how to smile !

Always absolutely amazing, been coming here now every Friday for about the last 2-3 months, blown away at how good the fish is - never ever greasy and the chips always taste fresh and never soggy, best chippy in Market Rasen by a long way!!

Travelled through market rasen over many a year . Finally stopped and parked up and found king Street fish bar and what a find staff were welcoming and the fish and chips were so fresh a tasty plus our Buster loved his plain sausage 😋. I would highly recommend king Street fish bar

We popped in on Friday evening, picked up some fish and chips. The service was great. The place was clean and tidy. Couldn’t fault the food 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Absolutely lovely food here , the new ladies are very polite and make amazing fish cakes aswell as the fish and chips . Also at Christmas they made some amazing little decorations which was also a nice little treat to see. Would definitely recommend this chip shop .

Ordered sausage and chips with cheese and was given a small pot of cheese instead. Owners are unprofessional and copy other businesses in the town.

We made a home delivery last week and the guy who delivered didn’t have enough change so he took our money and said he would be back with the £5 change we was owed however he never showed. Everytime I have ordered the chips have been under cooked and the orders have been given to me wrong our recent order has made me and my family very poorly. Honestly I also feel it’s over priced for the quality of food. I’m sorry but I do not recommend this chip shop and will not be going there again.

Fabulous place lovely food very polite staff nothing is to much trouble prices are good been a few times now since it opened best in market Rasen. I go every week now food is amazing not greasy and always fresh won't be going anywere else.

Polite staff and lovely chips, sadly the fish was not fresh and whilst the batter was crispy it was doughy beneath. Disappointed.

I used to use this chippy when working local. Tonight I went in waited 15 minutes and there was still people in front. Went for a walk came back and some of the same people still in the shop. Slowest service ever! Won’t be returning.

We've just been in for fish and chips. Lovely and clean, two very friendly ladies behind the counter. Haddock absolutely cooked to perfection, huge portions and all finished off with delicious home made cheesecake. Just a shame we live 80 miles away otherwise we'd be coming here every week.. Top fish and chips!

First time in there. Service was great both ladies very friendly and family orientated . Had three meals and decided to sit in, chips were lovely, little one loved his fish eat the whole thing. Homemade fishcake was delicious. And Irish curry sauce !!! Winner!!!

Great quality food, and the only chip shop in town which offers options for those who are vegetarian or cannot eat gluten. Good selection of homemade food, and the fish tasted very fresh.

Microwaved tastless suposedly homemade pie, burnt tasteing dry peas, very small portions of undercooked chips, fish tiny frozen portion, honestly they cant cook and food quality is horendous and over priced, Once was best around when old owners were their a few years back.

Oh lord ! When we drove by the fish bar and saw it had reopened, with new paint and new owners, we were hopeful that at last we could have a decent fish and chip shop in market rasen. Sadly this is not true. The fish was grey, and the batter wet. The chips were undercooked. I had a medium portion of fish l would hate to see what the small portion looks like. Why is it they all get it so very wrong ? There is nowhere in Rasen or Caistor that serves decent fish and chips. Go back to cookery school and learn how to cook our most loved English dish properly

Fish really tasty. Chips well cooked. Was a bit of a wait, but staff explained that this is coz food such as fish is cooked to order to ensure freshness.

Lovely people and beautiful fresh fish and I should know being brought up by my fisherman father in Grimsby.

Couldn't have asked for more Such fantastic customer service.My family and I dropped by this super chip shop passing through Market Rasen .We were treated like the Royal family invited to sit in to eat .Food cooked as requested beautiful so hot and so fresh Nothing was any trouble ..many thanks for the excellent food and hospitality JILL PATIENCE

Fantastic chip shop, available to pre order before you arrive allowing for a quick service. Food tastes great and the prices are incredibly cheap.

A small family run chippy only open Wednesday - Saturday evening from 5:00 pm until around 8:00 pm or until they have sold all the fish whichever is first because when all the fish has been sold they close.
