We have just had a family meal, 8 of us . The food was really tasty and came out all together. The variety of food is excellent, and a very relaxed vibe. Highly recommended and we will be going again, and thanks to all the staff, really made us feel welcome. 5 start all the way .

It was a quiet night service was very good food wad lovely and hot .

We came 27th September for an anniversary meal. The staff we amazing and went out of their way to look after us, the food was delicious too. Again today we brought more friends out for lunch. Yet again the staff were wonderful and food delicious. This has now become my go to place for food.

Excellent service the food was excellent can highly recommend this place This is the 1st time here driven passed loads of time while working and often wondered what it was like now I know a real credit to the woodcock

An amazing steak cooked to perfection, credit to the chef and a really enjoyable meal and atmosphere. We will be returning another visit in the future.

Lovely place, lovely food, lovely surroundings. Just let down slightly by the unfortunately long waits for the food, but heard something about them being short staffed, so can be forgiven for that. Still an enjoyable visit, though

Id like to share my experience of this establishment. The Woodcock is a sizzling brand pub, this is a chain pub brand but dont be fooled into thinking this a ping ping food standard . My favourite dish there is a sizzle plate chicken tandori ( with extra chicken skewer) the plate arrives sizzling away with veg ie: onions peppers etc topped with lovely tender chicken . The kids say the burgers are the best around , lovely meat and cooked on a genuine flame grill . Steaks are a must here , cooked to order and dont be frightened to return it if its slightly under/over done . I'll conclude this review with the staff , the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful unlike some places in the area that seemed to be forced smiles . Highly recomend The Woodcock in Farnley .

Had a lovely meal (SALMON)a very welcome change from crummy burgers and poor excuses for menus liked this pub very much possibly one small negative parking a little difficult

Nice place good food. Didn’t bring out mushy peas with fish and chips and couldn’t get the free drink for some reason. Otherwise a good place to eat.

It’s cheap and cheerful food but done well, no complaints about any of the 6 meals in our party. Staff friendly and helpful.

Very family friendly and delicious food.

Had lunch with friends here yesterday. Welcomed on arrival by a friendly member of staff who showed us to our table which we had previously booked. The attentive service which followed could not be faulted, the food was excellent - and was amazing value. We will be back!

Once a month the bubble car gang have a get together, a bit of food, a drink, and a drive in our beloved bubble cars. Since the demise of our last venue we have been looking for a new home to meet, and this might just be the one. Great food, good portion size, and quick arrival from ordering to serving. And it was hot! (Our last venue chucked us out because we complained the food was cold). Plenty of car parking, and, well, what's not to like with that lot. Already booked for next month. We'll be back.

Great friendly atmosphere. Loving the new refurb and great food and drink selection. Friendly lady behind the bar put raspberries in drink as you had run out of cherries. All staff were lovely and welcoming. We wanted dessert at 8:05 and the chefs went above and beyond to make them even tho they couldn't be ordered on the app. The chefs even brought our dessert out

Lovely food and great service . We were there on a really busy evening and the chef ( Leon ) was alone in the kitchen but at no point was our meal delayed. Our server Cara or could have been Carla was very attentive and polite nothing was to much trouble. 2 other servers Katie and Laura where also kept busy but had a smile on their faces through out . This is my 3rd time eating here in the last 3 week and every meal has been delicious. There is a lovely atmosphere here even on really busy days.

Never been walked in and the place smelled lovely and clean, I am very fussy with food it was just how I liked it!! Which is very unusual as I have to ask for things taken off or things added. The staff were lovely expecially Claire thank you, you will see me again.

The food is very good and value for the money. I have been back to the woodcock a few times and have never been disappointed. I have recommended to friends and family and they too been impressed with the quality of the food. The staff are very friendly polite and respectful. Overall a very good experience well done Woodcock.

Great place for a reasonably priced meal and drinks. You can order from your table so you never have to leave your table. Good service and good price.

The staff were great from start to finish. There was a bit of a delay when it came to paying and it wasn’t that busy. However I think there was a new member of staff so it was understandable. The food was the big surprise. We weren’t expecting it to be bad at all but we were very pleasantly surprised as to how nice the food was. Given we had asked several changes from the standard offering, the food was great. The one thing to improve is signage from the main road. If you didn’t know it was there coming from Leeds you’d miss it. We nearly did.

First visit for food. It was very disappointing my partner had super steak. Which was so tough he couldn’t cut it even if there had have been a steak knife which there wasn’t. It was like rubber. I had the boss burger and apart from the bacon I couldn’t eat that either. Definatley won’t be going back.

Wouldn’t come back here, food came out 20 minutes apart, all eating at different times, took ages to get served, despite 4 bar staff on, food was average looked like it had been made in back of someone’s boot, not worth the money at all. Waiter didn’t know what she was bringing out wouldn’t rate it here, although there is nice seating outside. That’s about it

We had a lovely family meal at the newly refurbished Woodcock yesterday. We were met by Carla, who was so welcoming and friendly despite it being extremely busy and she was looking after a lot of tables. She made sure my young children had some colouring to do and really took the time to make sure everything was great with our meal. I tried the gyros from the new menu which was absolutely delicious and the kids ate all their meals and loved the ‘make your own sundae’ for dessert.

I had fish and chips, it was spot on,my partner had the mushroom pie, I had to stab it a few times to break the lid,even got more gravy,but it still didn't get any softer,eventually I said just leave it or you will break your teeth. The staff were excellent and very attentive,the drinks were spot on and the pub and toilets were 100% clean,apart from the pie being over cooked on the lid,it was very enjoyable.

After waiting 30mins for food mixed grill was over cooked meat tough burnt chips came cold salmon edging well done too hard to bite

I am vegetarian and I can not recommend this place enough! They accommodated to the fact I don’t eat meat so well and had plenty of options. The food came fast and was cooked to perfection. The staff were lovely, I would recommend to everyone.

Took nearly an hour for hunters chicken and a steak yet there was only us ad 2 others sat down for food in the whole place... Absolute disappointment

Steak and chicken...not sizzler... ( Excuse was no onions). Chicken was in edible and chewy. Tomato was black ( burnt). Large salad bowl had no cucumber... And very little dressing... Chicken curry was only aired warm .. not the best experience...and we will not be returning soon .. 👎 we was not offend any free desert at all .. we asked for a small refund but we was not given a refund/ or offered...so after 10 mins we just left .

Party of 7. They lost our main course order so waited for almost an hour for food. Food was lovely when it came then another 45 minutes for dessert. It wasn't busy and other people were being served quickly. We use the woodcock at least once a month to meet up as a family for a quick catch up. Nothing quick about it yesterday. We did complain and were refunded for desserts however very disappointed

We are regulars here and always get a friendly welcome and good service. All the staff are lovely especially Lindsey, Kate and Kelly . Cheap and cheerful meal out anytime.

Shocking service. Shocking food. Sent an email and got told I was a lair! My Autistic son didn’t want ice cream with his fudge cake so we asked for custard (got charged an extra£1 because apparently we asked to keep the ice cream … which didn’t come with the cake!) spoke with the manager n got basically fobbed off. Sent email and basically got told they would ‘speak ‘ with staff. What happened to customer is always right?! Joke the whole place.

Don’t bother ! Food and customer service absolutely shocking! Sent an email Wednesday and it’s now almost Sunday… no reply. Large group we all ate separate coz service was abysmal! Manager didn’t care and I’ve emailed customer service and they also couldn’t care less! We’ve been going years but won’t be returning and the staff are just rude!! Don’t expect much for a sizzler pub but to be able to eat together and Enjoy our meal would be nice!!! Also after a full 2 hours of complaints they still had the cheek to charge us for the custard to go with the fudge cake! Now being blocked from their Facebook page because of my truthful reviews 🤣

Monday night tea, welcoming staff , the food we had was great, would recommend the mixed grill. and burgers are also very good.

Was in last Monday as I was picking up my new car from down the road at Eagle car centre Ian recommended this pub I'm glad he did I had A great lunch i had the fish and a lovely big side salad not that bog on chips so they accomadated me with a big salad. Fish was lovely hot and crispy salad was lovely and fresh. All the staff were lovely and friendly they were kept busy. If I'm ever down this way again I'll definitely be popping in again HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE FISH .AND IT WAS A FISH IVE NEVER HAD BEFORE

First visit and left hungry and disappointed. All the meals we had planned to order were unavailable. Kids unhappy due to there being no tomato sauce and staff advising there was no more. Steak was very fatty and gristly, very poor quality.

What was great - NOTHING What can improve - EVERYTHING

Food was OK but the orders were taken wrongly and rectified. When they heard us say we wanted to look at the dessert menu a member of staff just shouted the kitchen was closed. We was never made aware when ordering that this was the case so this was quite disappointing and was only 10 minutes are it had closed and no allowances were made to accommodate us either. Travelled to visit here and not somewhere will travel back to in a hurry.

Visited this pub just by chance as the weather wasn't good and it was worth the visit as the food was great and so were the staff. Looking for to visiting again soon.

First time I have visited this inn for a year or so but it has not got any better. Asked for zero alcohol Guinness they didn’t have any even thought I had a voucher for it ordered chicken fajitas they said they didn’t have any salsa. Then to finish it off ordered apple and blackberry crumble to be told sorry it is still frozen so settled for sticky toffee pudding which came but was cold .will not be visiting again .

The seating was cramped. Once we were seated half the group couldn’t get out because we’d been put in a corner. There was 90 minutes between the starter and main meal and when it came it was cold. Adults were served before 2 babies aged 2 and 3 who were absolutely famished. It was absolutely terrible. The orders were mixed up despite being pre ordered. Food was missing. When we informed staff food was cold the same plate was returned after being microwaved. It had obviously been left standing on a hot surface as the plate was hot. Toilets were full of sweet wrappers and toilet roll all over the floor. It was just awful. By the time we left everyone was fed up, hungry and grumpy

Food very slow and some items cold, booked our yearly get together months in advance but starters were cancelled as prawns didn’t arrive, only 2 staff doing both bars and the food service.

Welcoming staff, quick service with tasty food and a great selection of beers and wines,can be difficult to park as its not the biggest carpark.

The chilli con carne was not good at all, tasted like it came out of a tin. The fish should be cod or haddock it tasted like a cheap version.

Booked the table in advance. Was ready for us when we arrived. Ordered the food on the app and arrived in about 20 minutes

Had to wait 25 minutes before our meal came out which was ok for us as we weren’t in any rush. I had the chicken tikka masala which had just the right amount of spice for my liking
