Lovely Hotel Nice places to have a drink and eat round the Docks

This hotel is average. The location is a little far from the city, but in a nice position in the historic docks. Rooms are the usual standard, air con works ok but it’s an older system and takes a while to warm the room. The beds are a little firmer than other Holiday Inn Express hotels I’ve stayed in, and the windows aren’t very thick at keeping the cold outside from coming in. Breakfast is on par with expectations, staff are well trained and friendly.

Used for an overnight whilst attending the NDA PhD student seminar at the Royal Armouries museum diagonally across the square. A modern well maintained hotel offering free breakfast and wifi. The room was small but clean and well designed with enough sockets for all your devices. There was a small kettle, mugs and hot drinks tray. I particularly liked the small table and chair combo. The chair was comfortable and the table, although small, solid enough (weighted base) to support a laptop and paperwork securely. The table had a handle grip at the back edge that allowed you to move it around more easily, or for those liking a neat work area, you can put any cables through this hole for a neater appearance. See photo. The bathroom was again small with a shower but well finished and maintained. Didn't try the restaurant but the morning breakfast buffet was well stocked with a good selection of well prepared hot and cold items. Located in a quiet tourist district of the city, the hotel is 20 minutes walk from the station or you can take the water taxi along the river with stops only a minute or so from the station and the hotel. A simple budget hotel but with lots of extras and, like the best in this class, well designed with the traveller in mind.

Lovely hotel. Easy walking distance or catch a water taxi to the city centre. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Thanks Addie for sorting our booking and suggestions to download the corporate app for future stays.

It’s so crap and worthless hotel I booked for a night room was so cold at night no slippers at room no proper light in room next to mirror so I advice bring by yourself slippers to these hotel cause imagine you want use bath but nothing to wear so if you sleep in tent is better than paying for this hotel breakfast is horrible. It’s scam parking also charge each time you park and leave and back so mean it’s not only 8 pounds per night i left it for 2 hours and went to dinner I paid 5.50 and again back over night I pay again so mean parking can cost you over even 20 pounds if you move your vehicle a lot because there is no space to park front of hotel hundred pound fine Any way I don’t recommend this hotel at all I’d prefer to sleep in car rather than staying this hotel I bought toast cheese last night they even didn’t make it properly and charge is high I complained in morning they just excuse So before wasting your money here check out place

One of the better Holiday Inn Express. Beds are comfy, showers are great, staff strive to provide great customer service. Windows open for fresh air! Breakfast is nice, good coffee. Would definitely stay again

Far better than most City centre places. Short walk to town and pays dividends for a nice quiet hotel to rest up

I didn’t request an accessible room for my work trip and a standard room was accessible for me on my mobility scooter. Accessible bathroom, including walk in shower and I was able to open the room door without help. Staff were friendly and facilities suited the trip.

The hotel is very well placed, right next to the dock. The breakfast was very tasty. Be aware that in the weekdays, between 8-9 can be a bit crowded (they mention the breakfast busy hours in the elevator and on the restaurant as well).

The rooms were clean and the bed was excellent. The Aircon was awful, you could not adjust the temperature or the volume of the fan. The location of the hotel was brilliant, but only a very limited selection of restaurants. The breakfast was excellent. Also you get a discount for parking. We would use the hotel again.

Clean fresh hotel room. Hotel doesn’t do room service but we’re very accommodating when I was ill by bringing food up to the room thank you. Nice free breakfast continental or self serve cooked breakfast. Loved the berry, yoghurt granola pots.

We attended an event at the Leeds Armouries, and this was the closest hotel. There’s a multi-story car park behind the hotel, and the armouries is a short walk across the square. It’s a no-nonsense hotel, so no frills, but clean. Breakfast is good, but gets busy at weekends, so be early! There’s a discount from the hotel for the car park, and you CAN PAY CASH, in the hotel. The pay-machine in the car park is ‘state of the art’, and is linked to the hotel, but is flawed; it took us 30 minutes to get the machine to recognise that we’d paid, to allow us to leave without fear of a ticket!

Plus points were some food available 24 hours a day, breakfast included with great options to take-away & bar open until 2am. Location good, far away enough from hustle & bustle of city centre but close enough to be easily accessible by water taxi, taxi or walking. A few options for food nearby (3 restaurants) & a convenient Tesco Express too. Staff were very pleasant, helpful & tried very hard during a busy Sunday morning breakfast to keep everything replenished. Enjoyed our stay & would return.

I cannot speak to the state of the rooms, but if the coffee shop is any indication, one can only dread what the rest of the establishment is like. Upon entering, I was greeted by a sign proclaiming "There's always time for tea"—an ominous forewarning of the hours you’ll need to spare if you dare order anything. Two staff members were allegedly running the place, though "wandering aimlessly" would be a more accurate description. When I arrived, only two customers stood ahead of me, yet it took an excruciating ten minutes just to be acknowledged, let alone served. Once I finally placed my order, I waited a further 20 minutes before inquiring about my drink, only to be brusquely informed that they were “busy.” Busy? There were a grand total of six customers in the entire restaurant, myself included—I counted. If you value your time (and a cup of coffee), avoid this place at all costs. The experience was a masterclass in inefficiency and indifference. Following on from the response, I suggest you practice transparency. If I had been told there were issues and a long wait, I would have said thank you I'll try somewhere else. I would however return, now I will not.

My friend and I stayed here on June 21 st for two nights. The twin room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable! The service on reception was outstanding as the staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast at the hotel was all freshly cooked and an good variety to choose from including healthy options to a full cooked breakfast. The restaurant was very clean and tidy too. The hotel has a good view across the canal and is in a very good location: Pizza Express, the Canary Bar , a Tesco , local artistian bakery, coffee shop and the Royal Armouries museum. It's a ten minute walk to the city centre. Many thanks to all the staff at Holiday Inn ,10/10 for excellent customer service.

We have just spent a weekend here for a Leeds United match at Elland Road. The hotel is very good. It is close to the city centre (a 10 minute walk at most). The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great staff, food and location. Let down by only twin rooms being available when I booked a double. I even got an emergency sewing kit from reception when I unexpectedly needed one.

Absolute garbage for the simple reason the stay ended up costing us £100 more because the hotel uses UKCPS to enforce a no stopping zone at the front of the hotel RIGHT WHERE YOU WOULD PICK SOMEONE UP if they were unable to trek to the multistorey car park. Disgusting. Can only assume it's a corporate grift as its insanely stupid to drive customers away. We'll never stay in another IHG hotel again in case they've got any other hidden fines stashed away to get their income up.

Very clean rooms, breakfast which was included was tasty. However if staying more than 2 days it probably can get quite monotone. But alas very tasty - good old English breakfast. Only negative is that the rooms are quite dark and there should be a sign warning about the extraordinarily hot water in the bathroom tap.

Walked into the cafe to get a quick drink for myself and my partner. Waited in the queue but was not acknowledged. One of the members of staff then started serving at the bar to people who had only just arrived ahead of me. When I moved over to the bar to see if this was the proper place to queue, I was ignored again and other people were served. After waiting for 10 minutes I ultimatepy gave up and walked out. The cafe was not busy and the two members of staff seemed to lack any sense of customer service. Appaling.
