Wood Lane Fish Bar in Birmingham

Generous portions, almost instantanious service. There are a few parking spaces outside the shop. However, everything was pre-cooked and sitting on the counter, waiting to be ordered. Fish and chips was too oily and overcooked. Chips did have a large portion, yet was quite dry and chewy.

I ate a doner kebab here and it was very good. Just one recommendation, please lower the salt.

This was my first time at This chip shop and wasn't disappointed. Clean and friendly service. I had small fish and chips with curry sauce for £6. Good portion size and very filling. Very enjoyable.

Open until 22:00! Twice in 8 days i popped to my local chippy and it was closed !! I wont be popping over again, no excuse for lazy trading im afraid.

Fish and Chips for £6.00 with curry sauce. Quite filling and tasty. Good portion of cod. Might try the roe next time

This used to be one of the best chippies around but since new owners took over it has gone right down hill. Prices have shot up ( chicken wings were £1.25 for 4 , now £1 each🙈) Quality has gone down. Quantity has gone down. Not going to bother going again .

Had kebab meat and chips. Chips were lovely but some of the meat was a little dry. Sorry.

Do not take credit card do not do small portions of chips

I order Nan bread with Donner kebab my wife had fish & chips, Nan bread was hard as stone not eatable my wife fish looks and taste old looks like was from day before. Don’t recommend never ever.

Do not go to this place made me and my partner ill food was cold my partner had food poisoning from there mixed wrap please go elsewhere

Chips were fresh and cooked well, although portion size was a bit stingy and prices a little high. Medium chips and battered sausage £6

You can get some nice chips here, they aren't covered in grease, nice and dry and crispy mmmm. Would be nicer if a little more salt was added. Parking outside is terrible but that not the chippy's fault, we started coming here I'm october 23 on a Friday, as Friday is huge family chippy night.

Terrible service. Ordered a piece of haddock and chips and came out with just a haddock. Why would someone order a fish with no chips at a fish & chippies? Lady almost forgot to charge my curry sauce so of course she'd forget my chips. Had the cheek to berate me for paying for my chips via card after already spending £10! The nerve

cone of chips and a steak and kidney pie ,,,£6-40 . pie was luke warm , chips greasy some only half cooked others over cooked .i'd advise every one to go elsewhere , prices for what you get are ridiculous

We ordered from this fish bar before and the value for money is brilliant considering the cost of living crisis. The chips were beautifully cooked and and the fish was crispy and delicious. As for the chicken nuggets, they were crispy and plenty of chicken inside. The staff are very friendly too and the food is freshly prepared. This fish bar is a good go to if you want great quality service and good food! Would definitely recommend it!

Yummy food great burgers sorry I have to rewrite this review. The quality of the food here has gone down. Had a burger from her yesterday. The bap and the burger and the cheese have all been changed for cheaper items and you can tell the quality is nothing like it was. I will not be using this place again. I'd rather pay extra and have quality real shame everybody's feeling the pinch but some things you just can't mess with

Gave this place another try the other day. Tried it about 2 years ago and found the sfc a bit tasteless (more like oil).and chips greasy This time was much better fish and chips were very nice . Mixed meat also nice although donner meat could use a bit more flavour. They have good prices and decent portions. Staff were friendly and helpfull. Cash only.

Ordered food asked for a little bit of bbq sauce, server decided to cover it in mayo instead. Chips and scallop’s dripping in grease. 👍

Absolutely amazing chips. We are never in this area and stopped randomly. Blown away with how lovely the chips were that we bought a second bag before leaving. Excellent quality, like chips should be done.

I've used this fish show twice now, it's always fresh food and the staff are very helpful and friendly, I've just moved to the area and now I know it's there, I'll be a regular customer, 👍

I went to your chip half an ago approx and ordered 2 mini fish and chips with mushy peas. The meal was 100% fabulous and very, very tasty. Thank you very much and we will be back in a week or two to buy the same again (14/8/20) Friendly staff too. 🙂😊👍👍

Best fresh chips. Yummy sausage. Foods not greasy. Good range of food. Always busy always a good sign, But quick at serving so never waiting long. Good hygiene. Fab staff. Never disappointed. Consistent. Love it.

Very nice staff and food as well, but to experience and they charge 20p for any sos so if I order ketchup and mayo I need pay 40p. With chips same they sell superate no all together with burger or wings

Unfortunatley the quality has gone down in the last few months. Portion size reduced and quality of the chips very poor. They are very hard at times. Used to be very good. Now certain items unavailable at times and no offer to cook if not available. Will not be using again even though very local. Do not know when it was in the Birmingham mail top 10 as the banner outside suggests but would struggle now to be in the top 100.

Best chippy around. Clean and tidy as always and friendly staff. If you want fresh fish and chips this is the place to go.

Asked for 2 chicken breast was told i was not allowed only 1 breast 1 thigh ? Well i didnt want 1 breast 1 thigh i wanted 2 chicken breast apparently customers are only allowed 1 breast. Im sure as a paying customer this is not right ?? Will not go here again i think he should give the customer what they want its messed up 😠

Great fish & chip shop always clean & fresh nice people who run it . And best of all the fish & chips are the best in the area.
