Wokswagon in South Cambridgeshire

Got a take away from here as it’s right next to the belfry hotel. Very busy , friendly staff , good choice of dishes. Good portion size.

Do not be tempted by this being the only Chinese in cambourne, absolutely awful. Avoid at all costs. Chips were barely cooked and chicken was raw and could not be eaten. Ribs were dry and next to no meat on them. No email address to write a written complaint to either.

Fantastic food (especially salt and pepper chips/chicken). service can be a little slow sometimes but food is worth it.

We have now got take aways from this place few times. The food is very reasonable and delicious. It is not super amazing quality but it is very decent and I will continue to use them when I fancy Chinese. They have also accommodated my special requests when I have asked them. Generally would gladly recommend.

Food here is tasty and well cooked. Portion size is just right and never left hungry. Would recommend phoning order through in advance and generally only have to wait 10-15 mins. No card payments now which is a bit annoying,

As the headline states a wait time that was totally unacceptable, no mention was made of the extended wait times when the money was collected for what was essentially a small order. Also communication nothing more than a 'fob off' when trying to chase the order and seek a status update. To make matters worse one of the containers was supplied cracked and damaged containing some of the food (picture uploaded) that clearly highlights a lack of care and professional service. The food quality was no more than average. After this wait time there will be no return visit.

We live in Cambourne and have used Wokswagon once or twice a month. We have always been very satisfied with the food and service. Staff friendly. Will keep using. Free delivery in Cambourne would be good.

The service is brilliant,it's really good value for money.I would recommend this take away. I phoned my order through when I arrived at the time they said my food was ready. The food was really tasty will be going again.

Ordered the food, and when we arrived home we noticed quite a bit was missing. The problem was we were too far away to return. The food was ok, not to their normal standard. We will find another take away to visit when in the area.

We use Wokswagon every now and then and usually it is just about passable but the last couple of times have been poor. The food is greasy now. We'll stick with the Papworth alternative which is much more consistently 'average' than Wokswagon.

Most of the time the food is spot on but last visit has put me off for a bit so I’m now using somewhere else in Papworth

We have had very good food from this Chinese takeaway in the past. There is a wide menu. The food is freshly cooked. Last visit was disappointing. We had 2 dishes with Satay sauce which was not what we expected. The chicken was also dodgy. Portions also seem to be getting smaller. They used to give you loads

The Wokswagen is a decent chinese takeaway and I often use it on a Tuesday when all the other local chinese takeaways are closed. Food is pretty good but sometimes slightly oily.

It’s ok for a takeaway. We ordered a meal. It is prepared to order. It comes in plastic containers. That is all I can say.

We recently had a takeaway from Wokswagon and was really happy with both the service and the quality of the food. The food was ready when we went to collect and was still very hot when we got it home! We had duck pancakes, chicken chow mein , egg fried rice and chicken balls. It was all simply delicious and we will be returning.

Always lovely here would definitely recommend. Generally not long to wait for food and never had a bad experience

Mostly good, some of the dishes were a bit bland but kids were happy with it. The wait was long and the staff didn't really manage expectations.

No-frills menu, standard 'oriental' fusion noodle / rice combinations, but the quality is generally good and we've not yet been disappointed with the cooking. Wokswagon is busy from first orders at 5.00 pm, collections are usually 30-45 minutes so they must be doing something right.

Excellent food good selection at a great price. I would recommend the place to everone highly recommended.

Really friendly staff. A relatively standard selection of dishes on the menu. However all cooked very well using high quality ingredients. And for a reasonable price. What more can you ask for.

The food was great, service quick and friendly. We ordered a range of food for five people and would recommend all the dishes including the sweet and sour chicken, the roast duck, crispy chilli beef and sweet and sour chicken balls. All food was cooked fresh, nicely packaged, hot and tasty.

Excellent value. Good quality, please take over the Indian next door and open a restaurant! Always hot and tasty,just wish they would bring back delivery service.

Sesame Prawn on Toast the best of the world ! Rest of food is delicious. I recommend Sweet and sour dishes, king Prawn fried rice.

Its been a while since I used this take away and it will be a long time before I use it again. The lady serving was really nice - no complaints at all.Display cabinets have used cans of drink to show their offering - nice!The actual shop looks as if it needs a good deep clean.Our sweet and sour prawns were lovely, but the sauce was incredibly watery.Hot & spicy chicken - not hot and not spicy. The chicken tasted very cheap and greasy.Overall, sorry, not impressed.

We ordered special set menu D for 2 people and got enough food for plenty more people. The menu included crispy duck and seaweed and was well cooked and very tasty.

Been a few times, both phone and drop in. Lovely staff, all made fresh to order u can watch when waiting! Quick and fast, tasty food too. Highly recommend trying this take away!

Nice food, lovely owners, love the duck, nice chow mein price isn't to bad ether order from here or cook 4 u and they are both equally as good, highly recommend

We've been using Wokswaggon for 18 months now and the food is always well-cooked and good quality for a takeaway. The kitchen is "open" so you can see the food being prepared which inspires confidence. The service is friendly and welcoming with a smile. It would be nice if the "spicy" dishes were more spicy and not so sweet.

Food was o.k very pleasant staff and service was very good. very quick service. Worth a try only a takeaway would be could if they had room for a restaurant.

A great Chinese! Always fantastic food! One of the best Chinese takeaways I've had in the Cambridge area! A* service always too! Would choose woks wagon over any local Chinese in the area! Salt and pepper chips are to die for :)

Just right for a Friday night takeaway with the family. The children particularly enjoy the duck pancakes and lemon chicken.

Excellent variety, always tasty, friendly service and inexpensive. We've been going since we moved in and it's our first thought when we don't feel like cooking.

Living locally, we tend to call on Wokswagon whenever we fancy a quick Chinese takeaway. The soups are really good and the main dishes are always cooked with fresh ingredients. The chicken and cashew main last time we had it was a little bland however so perhaps not one of their best dishes but the chilli beef and carrot is always tasty. The staff are very friendly and accommodating if you need to make any changes to your order.

Decided to try this place on Friday evening, fancied a change from the usual fish and chips. I went for my usual safe option : chicken chow mien. Portion size was good, but two real problems. Not much chicken (lots of noodles) and the chicken didn't seem to be chicken, more like a spongy type substitute. Not sure if it's down to the poor quality of the product or how it is stored. My girlfriend had the duck, the meat seemed fine, but very small pieces. In our opinion it wasn't worth the money. I can't comment on the other food, but won't be returning.Unfortunately with Cambourne there isn't much choice for good quality take-aways within a small radius, so it's a captive market.
