Food was cold not worth the money at all didn't enjoy any of it

Love the food I just wish I could order more often but unfortunately I can only order a few times a month. I love the beef in black been sauce and the chicken soup. Would definitely recommend.

Food always amazing, staff is friendly. I always find myself craving their menu. Diverse for meat eater and Veggie/Vegans.

Had a takeaway delivered last night, I can honestly say the food is phenomenal! Best satay sauce I've had in years, the chow mein reminded me of living in Hong Kong again. Absolutely brilliant food!

I have been a customer since they opened after tonights order and the massive price hikes from £7 for meal to £9.50 theyve now lost a loyal customer

I love Chinese takeaways and have eaten a few in my time. The first time I’ve ordered from Wokify. Ordered Spare Ribs in BBQ sauce, Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls, Cantonese King Prawns and Chow Mein Noodles. The ribs were a little dry but there was plenty of sauce to compensate. The chicken balls were fine and the chicken moist and the sauce ok. The Cantonese king prawns were a let down for me. I was expecting a nice clean oyster sauce style dish with veg but got battered prawns in a thick red gooey sauce, the batter had soaked up the sauce and were not nice. The dish isn’t advertised as sweet and sour which is what it felt like. The noodles were fine. I’m not local but live 200 miles away and the likelihood I’ll never order from here again. If I did the Cantonese King Prawns are no no and would try something else. Given it 4 because most of the order was ok but there is room to improve and the ordering online is efficient.

Prices going up and up … food quality going down unfortunately

I was so excited to give Wokify a try after reading all the amazing reviews. It was more expensive than where I'd usually order from, however I believe that quality is worth paying for. Unfortunately the entire thing was just one big overpriced disappointment. I opened the prawn toast first and the bread must have been old because the edges were tough and chewy while the middle was soggy. The flavour was good but that's no consolation for using bread that was clearly past its best. The salt and pepper chips arrived cold, dry and chewy. I ate 2 before deciding they were completely inedible, so sadly that was £3.80 straight in the bin. I paid £3 extra to "go large" on the duck curry, but in reality it was no larger than I usually get elsewhere for cheaper. The flavour of the curry was pretty bland and had an unusual soapy/chemical flavour to it. The peas were hard while the duck was rubbery and chewy. I know that duck is a fatty meat, but when well rendered it should be tender and melty, not tough and leathery. It was also lacking in sauce, such that most of the rice was left dry. On JustEat, spring rolls were sold for around £5 for a portion of 8, while ordering direct was going to set me back £3.80 for just three. I don't like ordering through third parties who make money for nothing, and would rather more money go to the restaurant, so I ordered through their website. I wish I had ordered the 8 spring rolls because they were the only thing I enjoyed in the entire order. It was nice of them to send free prawn crackers but I didn't really fancy eating them because I was put off by the rest of the food. Same for the fortune cookies. I'm sorry to say but my Wokify order ranged from the barely edible to the totally inedible. An expensive mistake and a let down dinner. Safe to say I won't be ordering again.

Picked up a collection order from here. The website was easy to use and you get 10% off your first order: collection slots where regular and the food was ready to collect when stated. The chicks fried rice was really good and tasty. It wasn’t oily or greasy. Good portion size aswell. The Asian greens in oyster source. Wow. My new go to side. The salt and pepper chicken was good. Nice amount of onion and pepper but want that spicy. Would have wanted a little more i of a kick. Overall would 100% recommend and has now become our new go to Chinese with the value for money, portion sizes and high food quality.

This was my first takeaway from wokify. The food and service was excellent. Much better quality than the usual takeaway. Very fast service and the food was fresh and piping hot.

We always order Chinese from here now as the food is beautiful ! There is so many vegan options too & it’s really tasty & tastes really healthy! Thank you for making great food! Also we think just eat rips off the businesses so we go direct ! X

Had curry chicken and fried rice - chicken was tuff and meal was very dry due to the lack of curry sauce.

Our new favourite Chinese takeaway! The food here was so good, the honey chilli chicken and peking ribs especially - the salt and pepper chips were the best I’ve ever had! Delivery was quick and everything was served hot. They even gave us free prawn crackers and fortune cookies which is a rarity these days! Will definitely be going back, try here if you want truly delicious Chinese food.

Superb Chinese takeaway! We’ve been looking for a good Chinese takeaway for years now and finally found one. Portion sizes are generous and the food quality is great. Delivery was quick too. Highly recommend.

I’ve just had a chicken curry with boiled rice and a chicken chow mein takeaway delivered and both meals were superb! The taste of them was beautiful and the portions are very generous. The meat in both was really outstanding and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wokify to anyone looking for an excellent Chinese takeaway in the area. Delivery was quick and my food was hot when it arrived … I only wish I’d tried them before now, because I’ve been so disappointed with other local Chinese takeaways in the past. The food here is absolutly delicious. The singapore fried rice and honey chilli chicken was a delight to eat. Also the service is very professional with everything being served quickly. Would certainly recommend.

Satay chicken was spicy and creamy as it should be. Ingredients fresh and tasty even though we asked them to delay for a little while. Spring rolls crispy and s&s sauce lovely. This is the second time we've eaten here and not disappointed. Fab addition to Gosforth High Street!

Delivery was early but able to keep warm till flatmate got home. Food was fantastic! Very tasty. Not used here before but reviews seemed to be good and they proved right. Will definitely be back again!

Terrible, ordered food with dietary requirements, and all dishes had squid in even though it’s not part of the dish? Lucky I noticed before I ate. Also ironic they called to charge me more money for extra spice, even though it’s not a option on their own website, they call after order is confirmed and ask for more money when it’s already not cheap, a hassle. Clearly kitchen is in a mess for the order to be mostly correct and squid just thrown in for whatever reason, awful.

Delicious takeaway. So lucky to have found wokify. The portions, service and food are outstanding .

So just tried new Gosforth takeaway. As just opened with a restricted menu. We can not fault the food roll on full menu. Very enjoyable.

chicken satay over cooked and lacking flavour. Spring rolls quite good. Egg fried rice, not very fried at all, basically boiled rice with some egg. Salt and pepper chicken ok but very small portion. Curry sauce good and prawn crackers good. 40 mins late. Wouldn’t recommend.

Fantastic tasting food for a great price . Delivery slightly late . Sauce In Thai green chicken sauce could be more and slightly thicker consistency. Chicken skewers slightly chewy good taste .

I’ve lived in the area for years and could not find a good Chinese takeaway, so I asked a friend for a recommendation and they suggested Wokify. I am so glad they did because their food is delicious, always delivered quickly and still hot. Their prices are super reasonable too and staff are friendly. Best Chinese in the area and have ordered a few times now when family come round to visit and will continue to do so!

To add, the fried rice was soggy. The peanut chicken skewers, dry, tough and tasteless chicken, the sauce had no taste of peanuts. Such a shame since the last three meals we've ordered have been very good.

I feel so lucky to have Wokify close to my home. A great range of tasty food and the staff are always willing to go the extra mile. I tend to come and get take out, my food is made quickly while I wait in the seating area. I have Coeliac disease and I’m able to choose from a variety of dishes that can be made gluten free. I feel safe eating here with my dietary requirements.

First Tim trying wokify. Delivery order came an 1hr & 45 minutes after ordered on the phone, had to ring up to find out where my order was after an hour & 30 minutes wait. The main food was lovely but I ordered an appetizer, which was supposed to be sesame prawn toast, turned out to be a bun with sesame seeds on. Overall, the main food was lovely and I would recommend it, but the service and what they tried to pass as sesame prawn toast which I paid £4.50, very poor and disappointed.

Fantastic so far. Three orders in and the food is great. Beautiful noodles and awesome ribs. Had such good luck with the first 2 orders that I then went and tried the honey chicken which I've had elsewhere and not hated but not loved. It was amazing. Perfect. Found my new regular Chinese! Going to work my way through the rest of the menu starting with the other red-starred dishes. - Food quality dropped and can't compete with Canton Garden on the honey chilli chicken, chicken curry, etc. Though wokify are still winning in ribs... :/

I originally reviewed this 4 stars when I did so 3 years ago. It was close to 5 at the time. In that time I have returned many more times and it has only gotten better and better. The food is excellent, this is not your average Asian takeaway, the quality is absolutely above and beyond the "norm". My preferred order is Salt and Chilli Chicken with a portion of Satay sauce. I don't normally like Satay, but the sauce here is incredible, super flavourful with a punch of heat. The service is always quick, the food always fresh, crispy (in the right way!) and hot. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The only thing I'd change is the prawn toast, which is not so much on toast as it is in a thick roll where the taste gets lost and texturally feels off. Shame as everything else is brilliant!

The food was nice today but the honey Chilli chicken sauce was very wet and runny. This would have been a game changer.

No idea why this place has good reviews. We've just had to put most of ours in the bin. Truly awful Been speaking with the owner and they are happy that the food that left the kitchen was fine. It was disgusting re heated food from the night before and went in the bin, they didnt even offer an apology never mind a refund, stay away !!

If I was 100% honest I'd say that these guy's food is the best chinese food I've tasted! Their staff are polite and friendly and the manager is a very pleasant guy who really cares about his food and his customers. I have been critical in the past about some minor things however on reflection I can safely say that they do everything they can to make your food and your experience as good as they possibly can. Wow best Chinese takeaway in Newcastle and I have tried a few. Excellent food cooked to perfection by people who know there craft. Great service by very pleasant people. Cannot rate high enough. There seaweed is just something else how you pack so much flavour in to something so basic as seeweed but they manage it. Will be back very soon.

We went in and asked what gluten free options they had. I managed to have chicken and mushrooms with some fried rice. My partner has king prawn sweet and sour with egg fried rice. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. This is the first chinese based food weve had since going gluten free. It will definitely be a regular for us now! Thanks wokify!

Ordered a takeaway for a family ‘’birthday’ gathering. Different dietary requirements, children requirements. We even rang before hand to discuss some gluten free options & they were so helpful, knowledgeable & accommodating to spend time explaining what what was what which was appreciated especially in the middle of a busy Saturday night! We ordered a large selection, various salt & chilli, Singapore chow meins & vermicellis, sweet & sour, spare ribs Asian greens etc etc. The food arrived quickly it was hot, fresh delicious & everything was correct not an easy task on a big order with variations off the menu & dietary requirements. I haven't tried all the Chinese Takeaways in Newcastle, but Wokify has become my 'go to' establishment. Always impressed by the fresh ingredients and the interesting take on some old favourites, some less than ubiquitous menu options,as well as the feeling that these guys really want you to enjoy your meal. Staff are friendly and helpful, and for a spice fiend like me, always happy to customise any dish to your requirements. No hesitation in recommending with a 5 star review. It's a treat!

I feel sad saying this,but me and my partner had a set meal for two from Wokify,now normally this would not be a problem,due to the fact the food is always fresh and cooked from scratch and always very tasty.I do not know what happened on Friday the 10/12/2021,the food had not been up to it's normal standard,the curry had been really thick and not a nice taste,and the beef in the curry did not taste very nice,and crumbled in your mouth with not a very nice taste,the sweet honey chicken had also been not at the same quality.I am leaving this review,not to get a free meal but as constructive criticism.I feel it would be a shame if the Standards dropped,and we lost a very nice Chinese which it normally is. The takeaway from Wokify is prob the best Chinese food we’ve had. It tasted fresh, Salt & chilli spare ribs were delicious & spicy. The special mix curry was full of meat & prawns & the chow mein was tasty & non greasy. Like the menu too, it has a good variation to choose from just a few different choices than the norm. Also delivery arrived in good time & still hot. Would def recommend Wokify

The consistency of the quality of food you get from here is nothing short of amazing. Every takeaway every now and then you can get an off one. Not here. Every single time I have been the food has been to the highest standard, massive portion and absolutely delicious. Without a doubt the best Spare Ribs in the north of England but EVERYTHING I have had from here in the last year or so has been delicious. The staff are some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet and they will do everything they can to accommodate your request. I would not go to anywhere else for Chinese food. Wokify is the standard.

Walked across the road from here several times and notes the fresh smell that fills the street. The Google reviews looked decent so I gave it a try. It's refreshing to see a website for a takeaway with a copy of their menu with prices on. Food was ready to collect promptly and tasted very nice.

Wow food. I am a vegetarian and usually we can smell non vegetarian when ordering at other places mainly due to oil but here it was excellent as no smell and very nice taste.

I've had food from Wokify three times now, and the experience has been excellent each time. This is absolutely not your average take-away! The food is superb, really interesting mix of available items very nicely cooked and in great portions. And the staff are always friendly (apparently they were short staffed tonight, but still friendly and cheerful). Oh, and the food containers are sturdy and re-usable. All in all, highly recommended.

Ordered takeaway and told 15 minutes. Had to wait 35 minutes so other takeaway food ordered to coincide was stone cold. No apologies. Very disappointing.

My favourite Chinese takeaway in Newcastle! The place is nice and clean, the owner is lovely, and the food is delicious every time without fail. The owner's recommendations are always great and he is willing to make changes on request - they've nailed our veggie/vegan dishes. The Cantonese tofu and salt and chilli chips are two my faves! He even knows my order without having to ask now!! :D
