Wok @ Star in Coventry

Back to my go to Chinese takeout as I don’t think they can be beaten on value for money and quality of food and you do get plenty of food. Local parking is a nightmare.

I rang up 20 min. Before they close, I wonderd if they would still deliver they said yes no problem. I’ve never used these before but tbh they were the only place open… well it won’t be my last! Food was delivered in 20 mins, all hot and very very tasteful! I had beef curry chips and a chicken fried rice… chicken fried rice was properly fried and no boiled chicken lol and beef curry few bits beef a little chewy but mostly absolutely delicious!!! Will definitely use these again!

Our go to Chinese takeaway in Coventry. Girls on the phone are friendly and we've never had a bad meal from here. Free prawn crackers thrown in aswell. I always collect my order so can't comment on delivery service. Parking is a bit limited but that's the fault of the council for putting in unused cycle lanes...

I regularly eat from Wok @ Star but unfortunately the last 2 times they have messed up my order. The first time I just ate it because I didn't want to make a fuss but this this time I rang them and asked them what they could do and they said nothing because they were about to close!!!! They didn't offer a part refund or maybe a replacement the next day. Just a gesture would have been appreciated. I spent nearly £35.00 so expect a bit more customer service. So this meal has had to go in the bin!! I do enjoy their food but unfortunately will not be using them again as I am not going to pay for food that I cannot eat!! 😡

Best chicken fried rice in Coventry

Used these for a number of years, delivery used to be 45 mins max, then started to take longer and longer, food cold on delivery. Ordered food this week which never arrived, several phone calls and unable to advise on delivery. Money taken out of my bank for food not delivered. Phoned to complain and they do not care will never use again.

Couldn't really fault it. First time ive used then, I saw a positive recommendation on Facebook and wasn't disappointed.

Tried this takeout for the first time a couple of weeks ago as our usual stopped delivering to our area. The food is hands down the best Chinese takeaway food I have eaten. 10/10. Tonight I placed an order, however I made a mistake with my order and ordered the wrong item, they were showing closed on the app, so I called them and they went above and beyond. 10/10 customer service!!

The chicken chow mein didn't have any taste the sweet and sour chicken the batter was stodgy and not crisp . so all in all very disappointing

My sister lives next door to this place and from her back door you can see the people who prepare the meals and trust me when I say that there kitchen doesn't look hygienic they also use the same knife to cut all their different meats.

Used Wok Star for years but steadily getting worse. Portions getting smaller and quality not what it was Redl shame

Absolutely awful, used the complete wrong meat in the dish then when I phoned up and asked if they could re do the dish with the right meat I was laughed at and told no. I never asked for a refund all I wanted was to change the meat they had gone wrong. To be laughed at is disgusting and unprofessional. Would never recommend, chicken balls were tiny and dry. Do not waste your time

1st time I ordered from here and probs the last out back the chefs worked hard front of house ran by a bunch of kids fighting and arguing running around the kitchen absolute kaos the food ain't all that either how embarrassing

Really disappointed that had to wait almost 2 hours for delivery after app had suggested 45 minutes. This is after having to wait a considerable amount of time last delivery too. On calling for an update we were told there was a “system error!”. Food came eventually and was good but too long to wait

The food used to be great here but my past two visits have been very disappointing. I ordered different dishes on both occasions and both were bland.. not how they used to be. I thought my previous visit was due to ordering as dish i had not tried before so gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered my usual this time but turned out to be just as bland, lacking any flavour. Shame as they really used to be good. Not sure if they have changed hands but i dont think i will risk again.

Favourite Chinese takeaway, most lovely staff and delivery drivers. Always pleased with the food :)

Ordered a chow mein dish which fine,also ordered sweet and sour chicken which consisted of 4 balls,2 mini rolls and some chips in a box and small sauce, not impressed at all shan't be using it again

Just had a Chinese from this place and it was disgusting,they need to take more pride in there food,well at least my dog enjoyed it

Gone massively down hill.. I have used this Chinese for a good few years… all of the sudden, you get told it will be half an hour for delivery, it takes around an hour and half.. you ring to chase and all you get told is the driver is on his way, with no apology.. they even told me tonight, he was outside, and I still waited 20 mins.. very disappointing as this used to be a great Chinese!!

Just had a "Dragon Boat" from here. Absolute muck. Chicken had a funny smell and taste. Phoned to complain and they didn't want to know. Saved the meal so if I'm ill I have evidence of what poisoned me. Beware!!

Order took approx. 1hr 25m to arrive, then they delivered the wrong meal. Called them and they rectified the meal that was wrong, but didn't replace the chips (which went cold by the time ) and had to wait a further 15m to receive the replacement. Such a shame, but I appreciate this can happen from time to time.

I used to order from there as I was quite happy with the service and the food. However, the last time the order arrived after an hour and twenty minutes, the food was cold, half of the ingredients described in the menu were missing and they also made a mistake with the items refusing to admit it and help the customers. I will not order again.

Great food, decent portions and always delivered piping hot. Both the house special chow mein and the special curry are superb.

Really shocked applied for a job as a cashier but he stated he required a female that is gender discrimination got this all recorded.

Always hot, fresh and tasty and with a menu offering different dishes than your average takeaway....

Food was tasty and chicken was perfect however chowmein was quite greasy and I ordered chicken and beef chow Mein but was hardly any beef apart from that very nice meal would recommend

Best Chinese takeout for miles around

This place is great. Always use here for my chinese takeaway.

First time ordering from here fancied a change and it was"just ok". The food tasted nice but the portions too small. Delivery took too long and as a result food was just luke warm. The size of the pot of sweet and sour sauce was laughable...you get bigger dips from mcdonalds. I probably wont be ordering from here again but will continue with my regular....the one and only Mayfair!

Great food, friendly staff, usually pretty busy so delivery times can be lengthy if that's a concern (we generally collect if we're in a hurry).

Best Chinese in Cov and very friendly staff.

Food lovely......delivery service awful. 3 occasions we have waited an hour. This was not the time specified and we had people round and it was embarrassing having to phone up and see where our order was. Such a shame the delivery is so bad otherwise would of given it 5 stars. Always pick our order up now.

Friendly staff and good food coming in big quantity, so really worth the money compared to other similar places! Kindly obliged when I asked for more chili, or mixing 2 dishes as one. They don't take the card, but atm is right across the street

After 15 years I have stopped going to my go to Chinese and now I go here. Great choice of food and it's lovely. The curries taste in the 80's before every shop bought the same curry sauce.

Mostly good sometimes let down with constancy. Used many times.
