Don't answer the phone when called and when it says it's open

I've been here about 5 times by myself and with family and every time it is AMAZING! They're very fast and you always get a large portion of food that you just can't find anywhere else for such a cheap price. It's really sad to see some bad reviews on here but it seems like their delivery service is mostly to blame. I've always gone in person since I don't live far, and they've never disappointed. Remember to bring cash!

I went with a friend to a local Chinese takeaway i had a chicken fried rice which was awesome and one of the best Chinese takeaways I've been to.

4 years on throught I'd try them again and they failed again chips undercooked same problem 4 years ago. Waste of money and disgusting food, pay 20 pound to throw it away ! Never again

Took over 15 mins to place a order due to the woman on the phone not listening probably. When the food arrived it was completely the wrong order and would not sort it

Rejected my order. Maybe part fault Just-Eat but there is no information on why the order was rejected. Just came back to my computer and said they turned down my order. Shop still seems taking orders from just eat so am at a loss, there should be more information given.

Really bad ordered for myself and 2 kids kids wouldn't even eat it food was all luke warm very bland and the meat was chewy tried a few peices was chewy as hell had to spit them out then the site of them made me gag all the food ended up going in the bin luckily wasn't to expensive but still money down the drain if you have any sense you will not order from this dive it needs closing down imo

My local Chinese, nice staff and good food, chicken balls are made from something actually recognisable as a chicken fillet which is always a good sign.

So I struggle with getting a decent Chinese takeaway since my local one shut down 3 years ago which was excellent .my mate told me about this place a while bk .so gave it a go tonite .food was bang average .and to top it all the delivery driver was very rude .think he needs a course in customer services .won't bother again

Just takeaway, Tasty Food, specially Noodles and Fried Rice...close to De Montfort University and Royal Infirmary hospital, friendly staff

Wish I read more of the reviews this was the worst Chinese I’ve ever eaten. The satay sauce was way to sweet. The vegetable spring rolls were burnt, they barely had any filling and were cold. The chow mein was barely seasoned and didn’t taste good. If I could give zero stars I would. A waste of money. Do not buy from here.

My order never arrived!!! This restaurant lied to me on numerous occasions More than 30 mins after the expected delivery time I contacted the restaurant who told me my order was on its way. I rang than another 30 mins later to be told they don’t know when it will be delivered. My young children were extremely hungry so I had to cook for them instead. When I tried to complain via Just Eat I was told my order had been delivered. I’d avoid this place at all costs

Delivery absolutely appalling, 1hr 45 mins late. On the phone to see what was happening for 10 mins whilst two people were having a separate conversation! When asked several times we eventually got told that for some unknown reason the driver didn't deliver the food and when question why the lady replied "I've got a headache!" to which my fiance replied "well we have empty stomachs". However when we finally got it the food was nice but by that time anything would have... So overall if you want nice food but ain't hungry when you order then go for it, because by the time it arrives you will be hungry...

Ordered from Wok Express using Just Eat. Was given a delivery estimate of 1 hour and 30 minutes. 2 hours later I call Wok Express to ask for a delivery update to then be told “he’s on his way”. I call again sometime after this to then be told they had lost the order with the driver. Sounds to me like they just forgot. Terrible service.

Food arrived but took that long to arrive thought it may be coming from China The food itself was pretty good so maybe the wait was not in vain If they could improve on delivery time then they would be worthy of a 4 star rating

Although the food can sometimes lack flavour the place itself is really well priced and their monday deal is brilliant. Really good curry sauce and the bbq ribs are always a highlight

Cash only Chinese place-there's an ATM a 3 minute walk away. Very nice food and the Monday deal is fantastic value for money. Friendly staff who are alert about allergy free food and fast cooking times

The food was a complete disaster!!! Who serves egg fried rice wet?! Called the place with no resolve. Poor service, poor food. The worst experience ever. Never again!

The delivery service is poor. Please do not order if need be go to shop to order. We spoke to the shop guy and he was very rude and even started shouting. Please consider this when ordering from them.

My food was meant to be delivered to me by 19:45 - over an hour later than the estimated time (which I was entirely OK with). However, once it got to 20:15 and my food had still not arrived and no information as to the ETA of my food had been sent, I decided to ring Wok Express. Unfortunately, it took 24 phone calls spanning over an hour (the first 23 showed the line as busy) before I finally got through to find out about my food. The lady who answered informed me that it was arriving, and sure enough, it arrived, only 3 hours after I ordered it! And one and a half hours after the confirmed time. Naturally, I asked for some form of compensation, either monetary or at least a coupon to encourage future patronage. Instead, I was rudely told that they would not give me any form of compensation for my wait and that the phone calls had been turned off because they were so busy they didn't want any more business. A business plan that decides to refuse commerce and make it next to impossible to be contacted when knowingly delivering a faulty service is not one that should be considered reliable. 1 Star is listed as abysmal, and I struggle to think of a term that better describes the service and 'punctuality' of Wok Express.

Decent food at decent prices, (crispy duck pancakes especially nice) staff were friendly too. Cash only though on collection.

Ordered food, it stated that I'll take an hour for it to arrive. After patiently waiting for over an hour and still not getting our food, my partner decided to ring the place, just to find out that apparently the driver had already delivered it. After about 5 min, the driver hung up on him refusing to acknowledge that he could have delivered to the wrong place. So then I picked up my phone to ring the place and to request for a refund. The phone once again was handed to the driver who extremely rude, stating that I'm lying, and that I picked up the food and just want a free meal. After asking him to describe how I look like if according to him I picked up the food, he was obviously unable to do so. As talking to him was going nowhere, took the matters with JustEat who will sort out the refund. Will not order from here again, and would advise others not to do so aswell if you want to save yourself the hassle.

First time trying wok express, as we are stopping at the royal hospital, fantastic food and a very nice owner chatting with us. Will definitely use again. Highly recommended.

I have ordered twice from Wok Express. The first time I had a Happy Family and my partner Mixed Veg in Black Bean Sauce. The second time he had a mushroom curry while I chose crispy beef in honey sauce. The most that can be said about the food is that it's bland. The black bean sauce, though advertised as hot, didn't have the least bit of a kick to it. The crispy beef I had tonight could have been dog, or churros - not in any way shape or form recognisable as beef. So my dinner was like eating honey loops with rice - just sweet, crunchy things with rice. Bone dry to boot. The mushroom curry was just a béchamel sauce with curry powder, with an overbearing taste of flour. Not impressed!

Regulars ordering from this takeaway so you would believe there would be at least a tiny bit of respect when it comes to calling back about poor service received. Firstly after eating half of a pancake roll, there was a smaller hair within the roll itself, so we called the restaurant to advise and they said they’d send a driver to pick it up for some reason. 5 minutes later my sister found a very long grey hair entwined with a long black hair. So at this point we called justeat - (the driver then turned up) very rude & tried to state this was our hair... I’m 24 &not grey... at this point justeat told us we should receive a refund & to tell the driver to call the restraunt to arrange... he didn’t. Instead he laughed and in some way said a poor sorry & asked to take the food along with the hair... we called the restaurant ourselves and they were very rude stating we only told them about one hair... of course we didn’t find a second until a few moments later. The restaurant stated they would not consider a full refund until they have completed an investigation into where the hair has come from. Very disgusting service, money wasted & vile hygiene.

Gave me and my friends diarrhoea on numerous occasions. If you eat it and get diarrhoea you have been warned. Not a welcoming environment.

Been using wok express since it opened about 10 years ago food was always great but recently the food as been delivered cold when I have picked food up in the past when food for delivery is ready it's standing around for at least 5 minutes before the driver gets it into the car I called them tonight as food was delivered cold yet again and I was rudely told to put it in the microwave for somebody in the food trade they didn't know that 're warming rice and pork can pertencerly be dangerous Sorry wok express but I will be looking for a different Chinese takeaway

Don't order from here they are a complete rip off absolutely disgusting service take your money off you and don't deliver your order and try to make out it weren't on the system also lied to me over the phone about where my order was and then turned round and said they didn't get the order even though it went through

Had the chicken chop suey, chicken balls and chips. Very good service and lovely food. There wasn’t any chicken in the chop suey, so I won’t be having this again. But I will be returning to try different dishes. Thank you!

Its an amazing place to get Chinese food. cheap and healthy. Its a kind of home food, me and my wife love their vegetable noodle. They have a good variety of starters such as veg and non veg spring rolls, salt and pepper tofu etc. As its located out of the main road there is not much rush and there is very less waiting time. They also do home delivery which as well is quicker than other restaurant. Hope you will have a good experience.

Poor service made us walk to find the delivery driver to pick up food. Have never received the free items when placing a larger order even though this was left in the comment. (False advertisement )

Order once a week, good service fast delivery and decent food. Have a really good special offer on Mondays which allows you to pick 5 dishes for a set price. Good dishes to choose from and all come in large containers. Always received good customer service. Only issue is am not sure if their crispy sea weed is actually sea weed or more like crispy up Cabbage. Maybe you can confirm this for me please woo express

I used to go here more often in my first year of university, given such the short distance from my previous accommodation; however, I do order the odd takeaway from Wok Express here and then, and the food is still great! The workers are very nice, you don't have to wait too long for your food, and I've never had a bad experience with them. I would highly recommend trying Wok Express if you like your Chinese food.

The delivery drive couldn't speak English I text him telling him I didn't understand what he was saying so I contacted the shop to find out where the drive was they told me he was outside I went down stairs to collect my order then the driver was speak in his language to me he was very angry cause I didn't understand in future please don't send out driver that don't speak English I thought the drive was completely rude talking to me in his language getting angry with me I found the whole experience rude and unhelpful

Now when the food arrives, it's not very good and this time I ordered 2 diet cokes but got regular cokes. Delivery man told me to ring the shop. This food is so tasty every little bit of it and the portion sizes are worth the money. The delivery came quicker than expected but in good enough time. The driver was very friendly and kept me updated when he was on his way. Thank you for the great food and delivery service.
