Wok & Eat in Peterborough

We had a takeaway delivered to us from Wok&Eat and we really enjoyed it and will be using them again. They delivery time was pretty good considering it was a busy Saturday night and the food was still piping hot when it arrived. The delivery driver was very pleasant which was refreshing, as some delivery drivers are not. We had the chilli beef, special fried rice, special chow mein, chips, mixed veggies, spare ribs and sweet and sour chicken balls. All of the food was very nice and well presented, which again, some takeaway deliveries are not like this. I'd definitely recommend Wok&Eat.

Surprised by the bad reviews. Never had a bad take away from here yet. Delivery seems to be fast for us too. Although if you order online, it automatically changes the delivery time to 1 hour and half, you need to select ASAP to have it sooner. Love their chow mein and Smoked chicken. The only problem I have is ringing them. You never get an answer so can’t change your order or add to it once it’s done online.

The only reason i leave my 5-star review is ,in my opinion, the current google 2.7 rating is far below the quality of the food. Fully understand frustration, long delivery waiting time for other people, nevertheless 10 in 10 times the food is ready for collection in less than 10 minutes. It is always very tasty and never was disappointed with . People may get misled by delivery service only. Also, compared to ALL asians shitty Peterborough kebabs, the Wok and Eat is outstanding.

Ordered my food at 18:15 with a estimated delivery of 40-50 minutes it has just arrived at 20:00 absolutely shocking service food was okay but on Nearlly cold by the time it got here. They also said it was delivered 10 minutes before it was so they didn’t miss there delivery time that had changed multiple times during the Nearlly 2 hour wait. Not impressed at all

Ordered on Just Eat, waited two hours for food, was delivered completely wrong order none of which I could eat. Tried calling, as it was then 15 minutes before close to resolve the issue, but it appears no one could be bothered to pick up the phone. Will never order from here again. Strongly suggest prospective patrons look for an alternative vendor!

Normally this is our chosen place for Chinese food but tonight it wasnt even edible, my family are incredibly dissapionted by the food we received and we threw it away. the spring rolls were soggy, everything was cold, the black bean was basically water and the chips must have been from a month ago wish id have cooked them a meal instead. I've never been this disappointed by a take out before. Definitely need to find a new Chinese for my family!

We rang up and was told it was going to be 35 mins 55 mins later I rang over 40 mins and couldn’t get through. App showed it had been delivered when it hadn’t and then 20 mins later it showed up

Surprised by the bad reviews. So I’ll review as my food was good. Service quick - walked in, ordered and food was ready in 8 minutes. If I had realised there were bad reviews I’d have taken a better picture before half of it was eaten. Singapore style noodles and beef with mushrooms. Make your own rice at home

DO NOT waste your time with the app, theres glitches and you end up remaking your order 4 times. I ended up ringing for delivery, made my order at 6:09pm i was told 30-45 minutes for delivery. I waited till 7:20pm then called them, i politely reminded i was waiting for my order and the girl on the phone was typically apologetic, and asked me for 5-10 minutes as the food was being packaged to be delivered. I live two roads away (dont judge, long day!) but i waited until 7:50pm then i got in my car and drove to the restaurant. The second i pulled up at the restaurant my Ring doorbell notified me and all the driver had to say was that its chinese new year and they're busy. There was absolutely no accountability or justifiable excuse. I went home and got my food, and its their saving grace that the food was piping hot and we enjoyed it. Unfortunately i was too irritated to be satisfied. Simple communication like calling a customer back to applogise for the wait, or a simple gesture like a free item of food etc would have changed things, but as todays society sees it, I'm just another person. 0 accountability, 0 customer care, and 0 for rectifying where they went wrong. Its a sad shame i wont be ordering from here again. And this isnt the first time they've been this bad, also their reviews shows its not just me too. A big shame

Rang the restaurant because half our order was missing, I spoke to the lady on the phone and she confirmed that they didn’t put my chicken curry, so when I asked if I could have it delivered she turned around and said no because it’s busy and they haven’t got any spare drivers. She then turned around and said that so is going to refuse to help us because they are so stressed out well I’m sorry if you can’t handle the heat GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN!!!! I've been eating from here for 4 years, and their food is fantastic. For almost a year now, when I order online and leave a message with ur order, no attention is taken. I hate eating tastless food, and every time I request it to be spicy, I get ignored. When u call to complain, all u get is we're sorry, yet it keeps repeating

Oder confirm 4.40. Time on app advised up to65mins. So approx del should have been 5.45 ish time advised after order confirm 5.50. - 6.10 I phone at 6.22 to be told 5-10 mins(6.32) away but arrived 6.45 and from the shop to me is 17mins.

My favourite takeaway in Peterborough and consistently the best too! I unfortunately forgot to update my order (had headed round the corner to dine with others) and so the poor delivery driver kindly redelivered :) this was hugely appreciated!! Food is always hot, very obviously freshly cooked and amazingly flavoured. Would recommend to everyone, although it’ll become your new trusted fave so be prepared for that!!

They did forget the pancakes for the duck but everything else was great.

Not the best Chinese I've had. The food was hot but the duck in plum sauce was incredibly watery and not much taste. It also took 1.5hrs from ordering to receiving it which 3o mins longer than originally expected. The restaurant did inform me that it would be late. Sorry, but I probably won't be ordering from here again.

We’ve ordered from here multiple times, food is great, but the time it takes to deliver every time is a joke, doesn’t matter what day of the week you order it takes hours to deliver your food, not sure what there doing, by the time it arrives you no longer want it. You call & always get the same answers. Delayed again this evening, ordered waited, delayed, hours before it arrives. Boring. Not ordering again.

Always lovely freshly cooked food, the meat is brilliant quality and there is a lovely amount of flavour / spices. My favourite Chinese in Boro!

Food is always amazing, the quality is fab with decent meats and nothing we’ve ever wasted. We’ve tried lots off the menu and it is outstanding every time! Downside is that on the popular weekend night’s delivery is often late, and it was on this Friday. However I would recommend regardless as my favourite takeaway location.

First time I have ordered food from this takeaway ordered through food hub,not impressed with it at all,delivery was what it said it would be,food was lukewarm, chips where overcooked and the curry sauce was tasteless and very runny,don't think I will be ordering from there again. By the way the crispy seaweed was by far the tastiest of the whole order

Avoid!!!!!! First of all sent the totally wrong order. Then had to wait another 30 minutes for our food. Sat down to eat it and it was all cold and they sent the wrong ribs. None of the food was tasty, appalling actually. Never even offered a discount when they realised the wrong food had been delivered and we had to wait snugger half an hour.

If this is your local Chinese I feel bad for you. Firstly got our order wrong. The salt and chilli chicken wings were the best thing about it and the rest was tasteless, the spring rolls for undercooked, chow mein was flavourless and over cooked. The chicken was just boilded and just not good. I would advise not to order from here. Spent £40 on food that was not worth it

Great times. One big issue I have found though is the chicken balls were pink inside. Second time this has happened now. Won’t be returning.

Requested that carrot was left out the sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style, but it wasn't, other than that everything was as good as usual.

Food was about 45 minutes late when I rang the restaurant the woman said the delivery driver had left 2 minutes ago I waited and extra 20 mins when it is a 5 minute drive then the food was cold nothing good to say about this place

Drove 15 minutes to the restaurant to order and pick up food, as ringing or home delivery waiting times are not usually great. Ordered food which was a small order of 4 dishes & chips (£28). Got home with food. Sweet and Sour sauce missing. This also happened in February of this year. Too far to go back there to get sauce. A chicken ball also missing. Rang the restaurant. Young girl that answered not very bothered - told her this was the second time this had happened & that it ruined the meal as the rest of the dishes are dry. She said she doesn’t have time to listen to me moaning so what do I want to do! I said I couldn’t believe she had just spoken to me like that. She said ‘you know we are busy, and a member of staff has vomited and gone off sick so now I’m on my own’. She then said she would refund the sweet & sour dish. I said fine, but it’s annoying it’s the second time it’s happened as it affects the whole meal as we use it as a sauce on whole meal & perhaps they should have a checking mechanism and it was only a small order. Her reply was that the sauce is for the chicken balls only so she doesn’t understand what my problem is & overall was very rude. Perhaps they should consider more staff or their current methods of service if reoccurring issues with getting orders wrong. I’ve used this takeaway since it first opened many years ago. Service has greatly gone down. On another previous occasion we ordered food to be delivered, and it took over 4 hours arriving after 10pm with children to be fed. They wouldn’t answer the phone & we already went out and purchased alternative food as didn’t know if it would arrive. We couldn’t get any refund or partial refund on this occasion either. Takeaways for us are a treat and should be an enjoyable experience & so unfortunately I won’t be using this takeaway again.

Pre ordered at 5.40pm for delivery 7.05pm. Called at 7pm to ensure it was on its way... Called 3 times with no answer. Got a call back and the woman didn't know about our order so told us she would call back. On the call back, we were told there was an 'issue with the system', so would be another 20/30 minutes. No apologies or anything. This is the 2nd time we have had an extremely late order even though we pre ordered. We asked to cancel the order and have gone to Beijing Supreme instead.

It takes a while due to the distance but we'll worth the wait, best chinese I've had for a long time.

Unfortunately it just wasn’t edible, the sauces tasted of soap and the chips tasted stale, as were the crackers. Not a lot of flavour, very disappointing.

I put the wrong address in and the driver rang and delivered to my correct address so quickly and without a single complaint - the food was still warm!!!

I’m pretty disappointed with tonight’s food. The food turned up stone cold, and the drinks that we had purchased with our meal came out of date. We didn’t realise until we had opened the cans and took a sip and to our disgust, we found it out of date and bits floating in the drink. We have taken photos of the cans and drink. I think the restaurant needs to go through its Dr Pepper cans and make sure they get rid of the expired ones. So disappointed
