Winon Chinese Takeaway in Thanet

Still waiting for food which was supposed to be ready for collection almost an hour ago. All Just Eat orders prioritised. If the food is going to take a long time, just say so rather than waste my time

If you fancy a night sitting waiting for your food order to be done then Winon is for you. I waited in the shop nearly an hour after they said it would be ready. Terrible service. They need to know if you lie about waiting times people will get angry. I’m writing this in their shop to pass the time. Leave this place well alone. Utterly terrible.

The food was delicious. Hot and tasty. Equal to some restaurants close by. Can get busy but the staff are always helpful. Our favourite go to in Thanet 😋😊

We love the food at Winon but when we ordered last we were told to collect in half an hour. When we arrived we were told it would be another 20 minutes. I asked why we were told half an hour and the young man responded with "we're busy, if you want I'll show you all the orders"! I thought that was very rude. The young lady and child who are usually there are lovely but the young man that is there now has zero customer service skills. Shame.

The front of house telephone boy needs sacking. Evening of 23.9.23: we ended up having to cancel our order after a 2 hour delay for our food. Phoned twice in the at time to check on progress which was met with an unbelievable attitude from the boy on the phone. When asking him" how much longer do you think it will be?" his answer was "I dunno I'm not a chef am I!" couldn't believe he'd said that so asked him to repeat and got the same answer. The second time we called close to the 2 hour delay I asked "do you know how long it will take to get to us once dispatched?" he replied "I dunno! how am I mean to know?". Again couldn't believe what I'd heard so asked him to repeat - to the same answer! Unbelievable that you have someone as immature as him working for you. The girl that answered the phone the second time was quite polite, but once passed to this little child we couldn't believe the attitude! I'd advise sacking him before you loose too many more customers! (we won't return until we know he's gone).

We've always used Winon and the foods always been good. I've even left a previous 4 star review on here. We ordered again last night ( 1.12.21.) It was delivered as usual. The driver informed us that they have now changed ownership and the food is even better. So thought we'll be the judge of that. He was absolutely correct. They've gone from good to excellent. Highly recommend them.

Thoroughly great Chinese food. I order the same thing. Crispy aromatic duck, crispy aromatic lamb and crispy seaweed. I’ve now got my friend in Ramsgate ordering too (first order last Wednesday eve, she was equally impressed) Meat tastes freshly cured to maturity and the main thing is, it has taste, texture and quality one expects from the dishes you’ve probably eaten in soho. Delivery driver always courteous and friendly.

Ordered a takeaway for delivery and told it would be 45 minutes. After 1 1/2/hours still no delivery and what’s more they are now not answering the phone. The delivery eventually turned up after 2 hours. The delivery driver was told we no longer wanted the food and explained why. Was told that it had been happening a lot in the last hour for some reason they we inundated with orders and turned the phone off. Such a shame but won’t be using them again

Very friendly staff, lovely food and very good prices. A good gem in a great location. They also deliver which is fab.

We're always use Winon when we fancy a Chinese takeaway. Always been reliable and orders correct. Can't say we've had a bad meal here. We always recommend these to others.

Ordered at 5.55pm told it would be with me in Margate in 30/40 minutes. l was a little concerned when it arrived in 17 minutes. Luke warm, bland and the pork chinese style was so tough it could have killed someone. l wont be returning

With so many places to choose from locally I'm glad we found this place, we really enjoyed the food!

Took an hour & a half to get food when they promised 40mins. No apology Won't be going there again Poor value for money too

Ordered take away to collect. Arrived to pick up.. the person behind the counter was on his personal phone... Acknowledged me..he carried on conversation.. ten to twelve times he is saying into phone "get off my f*****g Facebook"... I didn't say anything.. the food arrives from the kitchen.. he is carrying on the nice conversation.. the person that brought the food didn't even know if I'd paid (front of house obviously engaged in phone conversation)..took food home... The vegetarian dish with Szechuan sauce is with satay sauce.(nice if you have peanut allergy). the veg chow mein with requested extra peppers has no peppers at all... The rest was average... But on calling to complain I was told they would send more food..which was not wanted... But actually the main complaint is the guy on the phone... Whose excuse when asked was that it was a personal call and nothing to do with me!!! Just very rude!

So very glad to have Winon virtually on our doorstep. Always friendly. Always fast service. Very reasonable prices. On the surface the menu is pretty standard for a high street Chinese take-out but ask about special dietary needs and you’ll be surprised what Winon can accommodate. We ask before ordering for no MSG - our request has always been granted. As a vegetarian I especially enjoy the Sweet & Sour Bean Curd but I ask for extra chilli and extra cashew - just £5 - great value and not a problem. We’re regulars now that we know we can reliably trust Winon.
