Honestly love coming back, been countless times, food is always really good, staff always extremely helpful and nice. Recommend make this your local!

This time we had Steak, Wow cooked to perfection. Staff are amazing, helpful, the 0% alcohol drinks are amazing too, my favourite the Rum one. We will be back again

This pub is a total gem. Proper cozy vibes, super friendly staff, and the food? Unreal. It’s not just basic pub grub -> everything’s done right, from the stacked burgers to the solid veggie options. The drinks are spot on great beers, wines or even a great selection of soft drinks if that’s your vibe. The staff are legends, super chill but on it. If you want banging food and a proper good atmosphere, this is the place.

Was here for a funeral. Nice food. Good service. Quick staff. Only thing that was a little weird was lots of flies in the bathroom

After my last trip I just had to come back! Had the Katsu Chicken as a main and it was wonderful! Had a side of ciabatta to go with and that made the meal! Well done to all the staff and a special mention to Honey who was my excellent server. Keep up the good work guys!!!

My daughters wedding was here Saturday and the food was an absolute disgrace for a company called green King thousand pounds worth of food and it looked like £100 worth absolutely shameful shameful

Weeding went to friends wedding there thay got ripped off terribly with the food they paid £1000 for buffet was like kids party food few chips some dried up sandwiches and a small plate of chicken shameful about £100 wothr of food

My son had he's wedding reception there I would not recommend it to anyone who is having a wedding my son payed over 1000.00 on food and what he got was absolutely disgusting there was frozen chips which was stone cold sausage rolls which there was a small bit of sausage in there was more oinoin in it egg mayo sandwiches which was something that you would give to kids in a kinda garden jacket potatoes with no butter dry slices of bread burn oinoin rings and about 2 trays of chicken I'm sorry but for that sort of money you would expect more there was not even enough for all the guests that was there please don't waste your money having it there I will be posting it on every site I can find

I went into the public house with my guide dog puppy Harry, my intent was to enquire about holding a wake for my father who recently passed away. I was greeted at the bar by a young lad who said no dogs allowed in the pub, I asked to speak to a manager and tried to explain that Harry was a guide dog puppy, his reply was I am the manager, So with an attitude like that we left. Not the best welcome or experience in this establishment. I will look elsewhere for a venue.

Went there on New year's Eve party disco. Not enough bar staff for the amount of customers. We just made the most of the night.

Lovely meal with my partner. I had Creamy Mushroom Steak and Sundae. Partner had Soup Turkey and Sundae. Food hot tasty and our server Justin was very friendly and attentive. We were not rushed even though it was quite busy. 5☆.

We had an excellent continental breakfast with plenty of choice. We sat in a quiet eating area and we were well looked after by friendly Sharon.

Absolutely amazing visit, not once but twice on Saturday 28 December. Was very busy because of the rugby but food was exceptional and the staff were incredible. The steaks at lunchtime were cooked to perfection, the Malbec was sublime and the staff were friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We even went back again for our evening meal and you have to try the solo burger, didn’t miss the burger bun at all. If they can produce this quality of food and standard of customer care on a rugby weekend they are putting a lot of restaurants to shame. Could not fault them in anyway and would highly recommend.

As always 4 of us met for breakfast today and both service and food were excellent. Such good value all hot and tasty well done again!

Service from Honey was first class - prompt, efficient and made us feel that she cared. Food was excellent and we would definitely go to The Winning Post pre-rugby again.

I’ve been here twice. Once in September with a lot of friends/fanily, and again in December with my mum. The food is great and value for money. The staff are super helpful and polite. I met (staff) Beth in September and Sharon in December. Both of them added to the experience and made it enjoyable. Mum had steak (main menu) and I had salmon with squid as a starter (lunch menu), both of the mains were served on fairly large plates and I felt stuffed afterwards. They have all types of drinks, and it feels like a family friendly pub. So you can come in for a pint or sit down and have some dinner. Con: They don’t do takeaways.

We found the server really rude and sarcastic, and really didn't appreciate it, particularly as we were taking my elderly father, who has just been diagnosed with alzheimers, out for a meal. She really ruined the experience for us, and we will not be going back there.

Was staying at the adjacent hotel, arrived quite late but the team at the Winning post couldn’t have been Ben more helpful. Evening meal was great and well priced. Had breakfast the following morning and without doubt it was the finest premier inn breakfast I’d ever had. Freshly cooked and quality produce. Thanks to all

Went for dinner with the girls food was lush! Full rack of ribs and onion nest really enjoyed my self Beth was amazing with topping up our wines!!

The Winning Post hosted our wedding reception in October 2024, and we could not recommend it highly enough. Beth and her wonderful team were fantastic from planning stages up til the moment that we packed up the following day. The food was delicious, the service was faultless, and everyone commented on how seamless our event was. It's a fantastic space that is clean and welcoming, and is a blank canvass that you can add your own personality to. We want to give a particular shout out to Beth, who from the very start was completely transparent and organised - she made the whole day as stress-free as possible. We would definitely use the space again for any future events.

We came last night to celebrate our Works Christmas Party as you advertise your venue as the place to do so. However the hall was cold. Not one Christmas decoration, Tree or piece of Tinsel was to be seen. Not enough chairs for amount of people. The only thing associated with Christmas was the blouse that I was wearing. £25.00 per person 32 people so £800.00 you made by tickets plus the drinks we would have drank and for what..... We did enjoy our night the DJ was ok but as for everything else..........🎄🦌⛄️🎅🎉🥳

Dec 2024 My previous review (below) was from last year. Various circumstances have found me back twice in the last two months as I was in the area and catching up with my Uncle. It is even better than last year. The staff are fantastic at making you feel welcome and well at home, as well as providing great service and nice food and drink. Keep up the good work. ___________________ Very pleasant experience. Standard place to meet my uncle when I’m over from Australia. Always feel welcome in the pub with good service from the staff and very nice meals.

Had an absolutely perfect meal this evening ( Saturday ). Starter, main course and dessert. Really polite staff, great comfortable atmosphere. Chicken sharing platter, chicken wings were cooked to perfection. Steak also exactly as required. Good assortment of choice too. Definately going again.

My husband and I ate at the Winning Post last night and our server was Jack. In fact I've been to the WP twice this week and each time we have been served by Jack who is so attentive, happy and chatty. Nothing is too much trouble for him. Every Greeneking needs a Jack

What you’d expect from a chain pub (green King). Close to Whitton station and Twickenham stadium so pack on match days with great rugby atmosphere great for meeting up before and after games

Great rugby meeting pub with car park, just 10 minute walk to Twickenham stadium and avoids all the rugby crowds found in the cabbage patch etc !

Where to start, Xmas dinner the prawns in the prawn cocktail were very small and some still frozen, the veg in the main meal was frozen and tasteless. Turkey was fine, pigs in blankets were salty, Yorkshire pudding ok. All in all very disappointed will not be going back and definitely would not recommend.

Okay carvery for pre rugby. Starter was high spiced and veg in main meal was over cooked. Service was great and beer good

Always a great experience. First time visiting alone, had an amazing burger and then loitered for a few hours and did some work, the team were lovely, checked in regularly but gave me space when I was on calls. Really calm, relaxed atmosphere during weekdays.

Lovely place to stay, great food choice for breakfast and evening meal. Sharon (breakfast server) very friendly and great with our 2 children. Nothing was to much trouble.

As expected, menu, service and quality of food was truly excellent. We were a party of six including Canadian guests staying 2 nights at the adjacent Premier Inn. Our server was SHARON who was exceptional in efficiency, menu recommendations, humour and personality. Thank you Sharon.

The restaurant area was amazingly set up. The food was delicious and ambience was pleasing. The staff was very kind , welcoming and was happy to answer all my queries. Would definitely pay a visit again.

Stayed next door at the Premier Inn hotel, had evening meal and breakfast at the pub. Lamb kofta starter and chicken skewers main, this was one of the nicest meals I've had for a while. Presented well and tasted really nice. Breakfast was just as good and the staff were so friendly. I would recommend this pub highly, and I eat out most weeks in different areas due to work so definitely made a change.

Supposedly dog friendly and went for a drink with my dog. Told dogs only allowed outside and definitely not in the building. Good luck with dog friendly in the coming colder months. Try the Admiral Nelson instead which welcomes dogs

What an incredible pub! The servers are dedicated and conversational. The food is delicious, and the drinks don’t stop! Can’t recommend the Winning Post enough. Special shoutout to Jem and Honey, they took great care of us. Planning another visit soon!

We love dining at the winning post it is always our go to spot for any family meal, it is always a lot of us who go and all our servers are very nice and patient. The last couple of times we have went we have had Honey as our server and we love her as she’s very kind to both adults and the children who love to run wild, she’s also very patient and makes sure to get our order correct and for us to have a good time.

Tomahawk steak definitely lived up to expectations!

We loved being at the Winning Post this weekend. The food was good but we love Sharon who served us. She was really lovely and friendly

Staff are so unfriendly and unwelcoming it's unreal. Makes for a crap atmosphere.

The pub itself is ok and reasonably priced with regards to food and beer but our last visit was mared by our experience with a member of staff. For context the venue was hired for a wake for a dear and close member of our family. The organiser of the funeral and wake had prepaid for food and the venue for the wake and had relevant booking and ref number of proof of payment. The staff provided the organsier with a bill for the event, the menber of staff was then informed by the family who had hired the venue for the wake had alread prepaid then proceeded to provide the staff member with the relevant details. Instead of an apology and "i will check with my booking team" reply that would be expected in this highly sensitive situation the member of staff proceded to blame the organiser from the family who were mourning for not telling her they had already paid then further complained to the family in mourning about how hard their day was and how many people they have to deal with. This appeared to be an obvious failure in communication between managment and the members of staff also showing failure in customer care and relations training. The managment and booking team need to improve their lines of communication with staff members on upcoming bookings and staff members need training on customer relations with regards to dealing with sensitive situations.

Lovely meal and friendly service. Good prices too, we will definitely be back 🙂

Absolutely wonderful Pub an Grill. Extremely warm welcome from the bar and restaurant staff. Prompt efficient service. 5 of us eat and drank for under £90. Great value for money. It was very clean and well kept. The loos seemed to be clean and fresh. Ample spacious free parking outside. We have had a nice present visit to the Winning Post, well done Greene King.

My mum and I went to the Winning Post today, we hadn’t booked, but fortunately were able to get a table. There was a slight mix up with my order, as I ordered the vegetable pie, but got the mushroom wellington instead, I had been torn between the two so it wasn’t a problem for me, although I did mention it to our server at the time who was very apologetic, but it was an honest mistake and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. My mum had the Turkey roast. Both meals were delicious and really good sized portions, so much so neither of us could eat it all! If you have a smaller appetite then I would suggest ordering the children’s size meal, which they are happy to accommodate. The staff were really welcoming and friendly and the service was great. Neither of us have been here for many years, but would not hesitate to come here again.

Have visited the Winning Post many times, recently, on my own , and with friends and family. I have been really impressed with the food, the friendly, professional staff (they have to be everywhere, all at once, it seems 😅) and value for money. Would recommend the burgers and the chicken and bacon ciabatta. Atmosphere depends on how busy it is 🤷‍♂️ Will be back soon…

What a lovely reception we received. Pleasant seating area and after morning coffee we enjoyed a very nice meal well cooked and good value.

Attended today for lunch menu. Staff normal standard brilliant even though there was no Sharon. Only complaint on the mini mixed grill the gammon was very salty after 2 small bites couldn't take any more. Not a fault of the staff I presume. Everything else A1.

Yet again another outstanding lunch with staff who go more than the extra mile. nothing is too much trouble. Food is well presented and served piping hot. Great variety to choose from We will be back!

Absolutely horrendous service and terrible food! Mixed Grill was very dry, service was slow (pre-advised at time of order about food wait times - not an issue.) However when food arrived it was almost dumped on the table by an evidently harassed server. No offer of any sauces or condiments and never reappeared. Asked for the bill, gave up waiting for it and on exit restaurant area was asked to pay at bar and given table number. Upon paying at the bar the staff asked how the meal was - when given a very frank appraisal of the service and food the staff member simply smiled and nodded, no apology or surprise. Evidently a regular occurrence, would avoid and find a local McDonald's drive through as guarantee it to be a much better experience!

Sharon looked after us really well. Attentive but not intrusive and she was happy to chat with us. The food was fine and plentiful. It’s a shame we are not local but will visit again when next in the area.

We had a brunch of pancakes and ice cream. It was sooo delicious! Worker, Sharon was really nice and friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming back here. ☺️

We had a great impromptu dinner here last night. The staff were especially lovely. Food was delicious and plentiful - We had the ultimate and classic burgers. Restaurant was easy to get to and no stress parking too.

I was staying at the Premier Inn next door. Food in the pub is first class. Liam behind the bar is great with customers and always friendly. The same can't be said for some of the other staff. I've been staying here for 3 weeks and have enjoyed it most of the time..

Food was brilliant large portion nicely cooked went down a treat great value for money especially the lunch time section of the menu which is on up to 5pm 100% recommend

Very good food, tasty, hot and good portions. The team were really short staffed but dealt with everything really well. Waitress kept apologising for delays which made the experience much better. Unfortunately, when trying to enjoy a couple of drinks in the bar before our meal, there were very loud screaming children running all over the place. They were also jumping and climbing over most empty tables and chairs/sofas (not hygienic at all). It was actually very stressful and inconsiderate of the parents/carers. We did tell the staff how much it was bothering us and nothing was done. There were LOTS of flies in the ladies bathroom. Not pleasant at all. Wouldn't come back in a hurry but is convenient when staying next door.

My family first started coming to The Winning Post a good 40 yrs ago. It went under different management & sadly went downhill. Now I have my own family we decided to come & see how it was. Under new management again its like the old place has returned. The staff are EXCELLENT. Really polite, happy & approachable. The food was DELICIOUS. My Uncle & I had Roast pork dinner & Roast beef dinner. My fiance, Daughter & her boyfriend all had Signature chicken burgers. The prices are decent. It was busy, but the staff were very professional & the atmosphere was really lovely. WE WILL BE BACK.

Starter Lamb kofas plus dessert strawberry cheese cake is very nice they have nouthing for kids if you go for a family meal they need to have a play area for kids why they are waiting or colour pens to colour but food overall was nice

Went for a drink recently....my night was made by a lovely lady on the bar , Kelly - i was on my own and she made me feel so welcome and at ease. I will definitely be returning hoping that she is working....what a credit to your team.

Stayed at the neighbouring Premier Inn for a night as going to watch the rugby. The pub is very nice staff welcoming and friendly. Was advised an hours wait on food (it was a Friday evening about 7pm and there were a couple of large groups in) however that didn’t bother us. Good choice of food. Also had breakfast in here the following morning again couldn’t fault the staff or service. Plenty of choices available. Will definitely try and stay here again for future rugby trips

Booked for a lunch for 10 for a birthday. I was asked to do a pre-order which worked out really well. Everything went smoothly. Staff are always friendly and helpful and Sharon and Honey were great. Food was fresh, hot and tasty. Everyone enjoyed it. We will definitely be back soon.

Food not great! Garlic bread burnt! Corn on the cob frozen! Chicken cold, nice desserts, not once was we asked if it was ok! Had to get up 3 times to find waitress! Wont be going back! 🤬

Su and I called in for lunch today and received such a lovely welcome from Sharon and her colleague whose name unfortunately we don't know. It was busy and those two ladies kept everything running smoothly with a smile and still found time to chat. Our food was great too. We always look forward to our visits to the Winning Post, until next time ladies!

Hosted a 90th birthday meal for 12 guests. pre ordering food was a great idea as all dishes arrived at the same time. The food was very good which everyone in my party enjoyed. The staff were very attentive even though they were very busy.
