I stopped here for lunch on Friday. It's a peaceful location with great views over the estuary and the ferry, and the food and the coffee were fantastic - best fish and chips I've ever had in Felixstowe! There's some nice little walks around as well, much more relaxing than the main beach and pier area.

Winkles at the Ferry is a great little cafe overlooking the river Deben in Felixstowe. It has plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the river, and also some indoor tables too. I ordered fish and chips when I visited and these were nice and fresh, and well priced for the quality. There is parking, public toilets and lots of different walks nearby, so it makes a good start or end point if you're exploring the area. Overall it's a great stop for something quick to eat if exploring the area.

Always a warm welcome. A lovely place to watch the boys and ferry go around on the water. Dogs are allowed outside which makes it a nice place for food and drink after a nice walk on the front. Food is always good and a fair price for the location.

Lovely little place offering a proper cooked breakfast at any time of the day. A top belly buster of a meal. Great value for money too as I almost couldn't finish it! But I did 😎🤣. Dog friendly outside and has great views overlooking the river to bawdsey.

Lovely little cafe in a lovely spot. Very busy this lunchtime so considering how far out of the town it is speaks volumes.

Small cafe alongside the ferry and boat slipway. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. We had cod and haddock plus chips and mushy peas. As good as we have had in truth. Light batter, beautiful fresh fish and perfectly cooked chips, Decent prices and excellent staff too. Many thanks!

Found this place by total accident. Very pretty setting with a balcony overlooking the estuary. So you can eat your food with a picture perfect view. Good choice of food. I had the crab sandwich which was very fresh and tasty. Staff were also very friendly. Only minus is parking. This is available using the car park up the road. But at a rather expensive £1.90 for just 1 hour.

Fairly ordinary, it's a shame they can't be bothered to toast the bread with the breakfasts. Bread and marg wasn't very inviting. Lovely view though.

This place is in a great location but inside is absolutely disgusting. If the Ferry Boat Cafe wasn't shut I would never have stopped here. We only had teas and a mars bar because there were crumbs on every surface, all round the till, the card reader is right on the food prep surface and surrounded by crumbs. Didn't see the girl clean her hands after touching the till or card reader either. There was a fly in with the tea bags. Wouldn't recommend.

Glorified Shipping Container Have you ever been to one of those dodgy Roadside Burger vans? Usually made out of an old lorry body or freight container? I guess this is a bit like that, very slightly more up market on the face of it tho. Interior decor is Post Modern Shipping Container, with greasy spoon come rotten fish ambience .... Very eclectic if you were being kind. If the place wasn't perched on the beach you really wouldn't give it a second look. From memory & council planning records, this was historically only supposed to be a waiting room for the foot ferry. Seems like a bit of opportune money making by the owner to me, we've lost the quaint old waiting room (public service) for a smelly greasy spoon shipping container just to line their pockets. Says something about people that. Food not bad, although VERY pricey for a roadside burger van. Staff pleasant enough, but wish they'd wash their hands sometimes though. In short, it's an overpriced burger van making out it's something it's not, but charging as if it was......it's like paying Gordan Ramsay prices for a McDonalds. If being overcharged for something you just aren't getting sits well with you, - fill your boots. Looking at the '"Independent reviews" , it would appear that some people actually lap it up. I'd go there only for a take away cuppa, then put the money i'd not spent in 'Winkles' into a charity box, just for the opportunity to sit & look out over our beautiful river, But for nothing else.

Loved our delicious tuna sandwich for lunch. It was in gorgeous granary bread and came with crisps and salad. All overlooking the boats and ferry at Felixstowe. Seagulls and oystercatchers flew past. Quite lovely.

Visited for lunch today; took a chance and didn’t book. A fairly quiet, tidy and elegant restaurant awaited, neutral tones with a splash of colour made for a pleasant and peaceful visit. Whilst the menu may be limited for some it should mean that what is offered is seasonal and fresh. I certainly couldn’t fault my meal, although perhaps lose the Yorkshire pudding. Really great flavours, a substantial portion size served with polite humour. Will definitely return.

Best burger I ever had and I brought my dog in for the first time, despite her overexcitement of other dogs there that caused chaos in the pub. But I'm glad the staff were understanding 😌 😊 and would love to see her again - I just need to take her on a longer walk

Special afternoon tea for an 85th birthday. Great service and an abundance of delicious sandwiches, cakes and scones. The cheese scone with plum chutney is very yummy. Different seasonal flavours contributed to an excellent afternoon tea and celebration.
