Wing Wah in Coventry

This was my first time coming here after 4 years nothing has changed. The food has gotten worse. The chocolate fountain is milk mixed with coca powder looks horrible and tastes horrible.the atmosphere is absolutely horrible and there are not enough selection for the price they are charging. This food made me sick my stomach and head is hurting from it. This place needs to be changed immediately. Will not come back!!!!

Saturday evening so it was very busy. My first time at a buffet and honestly it was fun and there were loads of choices. I enjoyed all the food I grabbed and the staff were constantly circulating, topping up food and taking empty plates. Really fun and worth a try

I’ve been coming to this place for years, albeit over the last few years very reluctantly, I decided to try after a long time today again. I am shocked how sub par all the food is, cold, bland and unappealing. Nothing is replenished, there must have been 5 starter containers empty and 6 mains. Absolutely appalling. The only saving grace was the fresh tapinaki which the chef made with love. My jaw dropped even before the meal started when the cashier charged my mate £48 for two of us on a Wednesday night. Absolutely disgusting, and daylight robbery. I’ve been saying for years this has been going downhill, and I’m genuinely suprised it’s even still in business. I will not be going at all again!

The price is terrible, too expensive as the height measurement at 140cm for kids is daylight robbery!! I paid full price for my 9 and 10 year old kids and how is it my fault I've got taller kids??? Meanwhile kids did not have more than fries and ice cream! What a joke!

Took my son for his 21st birthday And was disappointed as we booked for 1pm so hadn't been open long and the food was cold and needed topping up Deserts were very bland taste of nothing Chocolate fountain was cheap watery chocolate A real let down as wing wah used to be good for the money.

Went for the first time the other night thought it was great value for your money, food was delicous, great vibes will be returning soon!

Sunday lunchtime visit, some nice touches like free soft drinks, but the food was lukewarm and some dishes swimming in grease. Won't be returning

We went for lunch. Music was good, and parking was convenient. The dishes that were prepared were decent in quality. But not a whole lot was available. Was expecting it be scaled back for lunch vs dinner but it seemed like it was half - the Indian section was closed, as well as sushi, soups, desserts and I'm not sure what else - there were lots of empty trays / sections (not offered for lunch). Free drink options were limited to juices. The reduction in food options far outweighed the lower price (£6) for lunch vs dinner. It was also a special occasion for the family but there was nothing special on offer. Whereas the other buffet places we've been to either provide a cake with staff singing Happy Birthday, or even a free meal on a birthday with x number of paying guests. They need to provide better value. Worth a visit, once only.

Ok place overall but wouldn't go again the greeting wasnt very good, the lady that took us to the table wasn't very helpful in that we had to find out ourselves where to get our drinks, the food was not that good and there were quite alot of empty trays bearing in mind it was a buffet night on a saturday so we had to wait for them to be filled.

Food was ok. Venue was nice. Atmosphere was terrible as people were loud, messy and pushy. A lot of food items were missing and there was a long que to live food station. Not a great experience. Plus cutlery and plates were not so clean.

So disappointed with everything! Went for Valentine’s Day with family. Staff were constantly on calls and running around without properly assisting. Told them I needed a table for 5 with a high chair and they ended up giving us a table of 4. Food is not a good as it was before, very limited and bland all for £17.99?! The most shocking part was the juice dispenser, tasted very off and outdated. Looked like no one cleaned it for years and had clumps inside the dispenser, so off putting! Never going again!

Bueno Wing Wah gracias por arruinar una noche de cumpleaños/aniversario/san Valentín. Ha sido horrible desde el aparcamiento. Hecho para hacer cola bajo la lluvia porque te están haciendo pagar por adelantado incluso por bebidas. Llevado a la mesa donde todos están sentados unos sobre otros. 30 minutos después de la llegada todavía esperando las bebidas que me hicieron pedir en cuanto me puse un pie en la puerta. Subí a buscar un plato y realmente no había (sin exageración) comida. Yo diría que el 80 % de las tarrinas estaban vacías. Estuvo esperando 10 minutos y nadie vino a llenarse. Hablé con el gerente para solicitar algo de comida o un reembolso, para que me dijeran que están ocupados... ¡bueno, es San Valentín! Llenaron unas cuantas tinas, pero como estaba tan ocupado, desapareció en cuestión de segundos. La comida que logramos comer era insípida y una textura extraña. La estación de postres era jalea, jalea, jalea que tampoco tenía sabor. Esta fue la peor comida que he comido en mucho tiempo. ¡Ahorra tu dinero y mantente alejado!

Fuimos aquí esta noche como un regalo para mi hijo. ¿Qué puedo decir, pero es la peor experiencia de la historia, así que evite este lugar. Reservé una mesa para las 6 pm. Hicimos cola afuera bajo el frío y la lluvia porque el personal estaba haciendo pagar a todos antes de que pudieran entrar y estaban discutiendo con las familias a la altura de sus hijos. Pagamos y entramos, estábamos sentados en una mesa justo al lado de donde todo el mundo todavía estaba discutiendo sobre el pago o no puedes entrar por un miembro del personal muy grosero. La comida que probamos era horrible, estaba fría, o sabía horrible, mucha pimienta, muy poca carne en salsas, incluso el pato no parecía tener la textura correcta, no estaba seguro de qué era. Nos fuimos poco después, los niños todavía tenían hambre. No habíamos estado durante unos años, pero ciertamente no volveremos a ir, se sentía como el peor comedor escolar de la historia.

Horrible experiencia. Tuve que dar una señal en el frío durante 20 minutos para incluso entrar para una sesión reservada de 6 pm. Comida muy pobre el pato era solo papilla, otra comida ya sea fría o muy salada, desiertos insípidos. Platos y vasos de plástico. Se negaron a recibir un reembolso y consideraron que esa espera fuera era aceptable. El problema de esperar fuera es que tienes que pagar antes de sentarte y en momentos de mucho tráfico no pueden satisfacer esta demanda. No volveré a ir de nuevo y aconsejaría a otros no ir 0 estrellas de nuestra parte

Been to Wing Wah in Coventry (and in the past Nuneaton) many times. I have never had to post a negative review like this but was forced to, this place has gone downhill. Poor food, not replenished. We arrived with a baby around 2:30pm nobody warned us we were going to be turfed out before 4pm We sat down at about 2:40pm). We paid £19.99 each so with a baby, just over an hour is not enough time to eat (They charged a 10 month old baby £3.99!!!!). Dinner service - at a higher price - is served at 5:30pm but even though we asked for a box to take our existing food out, this was refused. The lights were even shut off to get us to get out - shocking and I told the owner my thoughts and she proceeded to remind me that normally the staff would highlight 4pm is closing time (i.e kick out time). Zero customer service, Chinese style customer service (i.e. money matters more then customers). We will not be returning and will eat Chinese in the centre of Coventry. No wonder the car park was less than half full - arrogance above good food and customer service. The mango juice was HEAVLY diluted as they assume the customer base will not care. We do care when you are charging £19.99 for food that is not replenished. My wife is Thai and I have got back from Bangkok and the UK needs to learn as our Chinese food is a poor cousin. Perhaps this review will teach a valuable lesson and Coventry City as Council will be informed about about kicking customers out of a registered restaurant.

We visit wing wah often however we do go at quieter times as it can get real busy and run out of food quicker than it's replenished. My son has autism and find crowded places very disturbing however they always sit us away from busy areas and I find the staff really pleasant and helpful. We enjoy it here but as stated pick your timings because it will get super busy.

Love this place ....but you need to be hungry to get value for money as the prices have gone up £25per head with a drink... The food is good, though... lots of choices and is a good idea on a Friday evening when you dont want to cook...arrive early evening though as it's all a little fresher than going later... Salt and Pepper King prawns...Mmmmm, give me a bowl full lol-It's all about opinions ... you like it, or you dont-Give it a try... never had a bad experience and have been eating here for years

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price I visited Wing Wah Chinese Restaurant in Coventry with my family, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Long Waiting Time – We had to wait in a long queue to get in, which was frustrating. Overcrowded and Dirty – The restaurant was packed beyond comfort, and cleanliness was clearly not a priority. It reminded me of a busy fast-food chain at peak hours. Food Availability Issues – While the food selection looked good on paper, the reality was far from it. Many food trays were empty (at one point, I counted seven), and while they were refilled occasionally, the food was gone instantly. If you wanted a chance at getting something, you had to stand by the stalls and wait. It felt like a scene from the 1920s, where people fought over a single slice of bread. Paying £25 per person and struggling to get food is unacceptable. Taste & Value – The food itself was average at best. Honestly, a takeaway would have been cheaper and better in quality. Hygiene Concerns – My tea cup was dirty, so I asked for a replacement. Instead of giving me a new one, the staff wiped it with their bare fingers and seemed annoyed that I wasn’t satisfied with this “solution.” Health Issues – Out of four people in my group, two had stomach problems after the meal. We visited this restaurant previously around 2 PM and were disappointed then. We thought an evening visit (6 PM) might be better, but this time was even worse. Final Verdict: Never again! If you’ve read this far, I’d strongly advise avoiding this place. However, if you still decide to go, make sure you have the next day off and plenty of toilet paper ready.

Staff are friendly and food is of an excellent standard and quality

Really not worth the dodgy stomach the next day, went with two friends and their son £87 and we all had diarrhoea for the whole next day, just awful wouldn’t recommend at all. Quality of food abysmal. Good luck but we will never go again should get a refund really for the nasty experience

A very cold day , with the restaurant equally as cold ! A 2.30 sitting with not too many people in , but a certain lack of food being refreshed . Then to cap a very ordinary meal , an Asian male member of staff has 40 winks on a bench seat next to us , with possibly the only heater on the premises , by his head ……. We won’t be back

Went for a last time dinner with my dad and family, due to holidays. Food is nice. All you can eat and pudding. They done a Micky mouse pancake for my boy.

Good food ,good price and good options

This is a reasonable offer for a Chinese buffet. Good for a meal with a few or many friends as there are smaller booths and larger joined tables are possible. Good offer for kids too with lots of options and an additional teppenyaki option.

AVOID !!! Worst service I’ve ever come across . Food was cold and not very nice . When challenging the manager regarding the state of the food . She was argumentative and refused to believe the food was cold even though a member of staff confirmed that the heat under the food was off !!! Waste of time

Well they sang happy birthday to my grandad and gave him a cake and one of the waiters didn't have to bring us a cake so we are very grateful.and also my younger brother left his bag in the restaurant and the same waiter came and gave it us

Reserved a table at 20:00 last night for myself and my daughter as a treat… Upon arrival I was immediately annoyed to find out that you way of defining a ‘child’ from an ‘adult’ is now by a height scale! What’s all that about? My daughter is 9 years old and can in no way consume the same as an adult! This is a restaurant not a ‘Theme Park’!!! To add insult to injury I would say that at least 10 dishes that had clearly been on the menu you last night remained empty and not refilled for our stay, seriously limiting the choices. It was evident that the staff had, had enough and were wanting to get off home by the way they were turning the heat off to the hot plates in certain areas. This really was very poor last night and not up to the usual relatively high standards that you offer. A serious look at some of your policies should be had! It’s not even like we were eating particularly late and their were people coming in after us, god only knows what they were left with!!!

Saturday evening was busy but your not rushed. You have to pay before you sit down and they measure the childrena hight so any kids over 140cm will pay adult prices. The first thing we noticed was hot stupidly slippy the floor was. It was so oilly all over it was actually dangerous. Staff even say be careful! In need of a deep clean! There is a lot of food, lots of options from freshly cooked, lots of Chinese options, Indian food area and chips n pizza! There is also a fresh pancake area for dessert. The food is, okay! Not good, all either sweet or salty. There are no great flavours just all average. I think it's over priced for the quality of food you get. Been about 15 20 years since I've been there, might be that long again!

I am Pleased about the food but i ordered a chocolate /vanilla birthday cake tell me why they gave me a banana coffee cake and im allergic to bananas and they keep saying you should of said u had a banana allergy but i didnt ask for banana i asked for vanilla /choclate

I first came here about 8yrs ago. Bit of a novelty to be honest. It's not even that anymore, it's scummy low class surroundings, filled with like minded people who think it's the best thing since sliced bread. It's low life appalling. Food is average to poor at best. Atmosphere? Nope, just noisy and brash and not even cheap anymore. I will avoid this hell hole like the plague.

Booked for a birthday 11 people with kids was squashed into a corner couls hardly get out with tables being so close together. Food was empty had to keep waiting. Ice cream machine broke told somone 20mins later nothing there was a big que waiting too. Refill soft drinks, well they run out quick once refilled tasted like dirty water as a diabetic there was limited drinks. Staff on serving stations rude. They crammed to many people in there and couldn't keep up with the demand of food and service.

Place needs updating, very low quantity of food often burn. All the place needs a good clean. A new addition it's the beverage bar.

I always recommend going early in the evenings. Never had to wait to be seated. Food always tastes good and the quality is beyond expectations for the price. Kids love it and enjoy the all you can eat ice-cream 😉

When we arrived the woman on the till was very abrupt, there was not the usual quality of food we could choose from like other branches, the food didn't seem to come out quick enough once the trays were empty. We will not be returning to Wing Wah Coventry

It was horrible I paid 52 quid for me and my girlfriend and when I got in the cutlery was dirty all the food was cold and stale and the deserts just tasted off and out of date everything was stale and the tables were dirty I was getting dirty looks from staff and some of the food didn't even look cooked it was all disgusting never eating there again

food was stale and cold not much was out and just gross in general. feel ill after leaving the restaurant and when we asked to get take away boxes for food we had to pay £20 per box… it was £52 for only two of us to even come in and eat. would much rather get chinese from down the road than this. some staff were also rude.

Staff not too friendly but food was decent

We booked in as a family of 10. One of our party has recently had surgery meaning he cannot eat but we were told he would still have to pay full price. Safe to say we won’t be going again.

Great variety of differing foods soups puddings etc

Why do they let people in with full tracksuits and hats? It makes the place feel so scruffy. I stopped coming after Wing Wah were caught out using slaves as staff (Google it), I returned a few years later and there was clearly no dress code whatsoever. You also couldn't order a drink from your seat, strange.

Went for my brother’s birthday. Was so much choice of food from starters to dessert's. Service after you pay was amazing but I do recommend knowing how many people are in your party before you get to the till and pay unless you’ve pre booked a table like we did. Cocktails are amazing too, i recommend big blue lagoon and sex on the beach. Toilets were clean and very close to the tables and they had accessible toilets as well

I cant give an honest review of the food as we didn't end up eating there. We waited in the queue outside as you have to pay before you sit. We were shocked to see they wanted £98 as a family of 4! 2 adults and 2 children aged 3 and 11. Anyone over 1.4 m pays the same as an adult. Safe to say we turned around and went elsewhere for much less!

It's a all you can eat Chinese £26 or so pounds each I don't feel it's worth the price point but the food ok some dishes taste good some are ok weren't keen on the cider I had there or the raspberry lemonade I think it was kinda taste like soap, I personally wouldn't go there again as I feel price point I'd rather just get one two dishes I like from a local Chinese but if your a big eater it might be ok

Food was hot until you got to your table, then it quickly went cold, the staff need to brush up on their customer skills, greeting none, i said goodbye and thank you, not one reply. And I smiled at most of the staff only one smiled back not friendly at all. My grandson asked for a crepe and Ana served someone else, he was standing right by me waiting for his crepe. He was upset.

Had a really good family meal. Good price, great service.

Very busy so Id recommend booking. Food is really good. There’s a whole range of dishes, from chinese, to indian food. It’s all tasty and delicious. Only thing I’d say is how busy it can be- no disrespect to the staff because they work tirelessly to ensure you’re catered for. Our drinks were a little late, but again, it was busy so definitely didn’t ruin our evening or anything. Will definitely come back!

Honestly, it's a great place if you need to be somewhere quickly and just want to have lunch first. The food is great and has a massive range of food available. It's one of my favourite buffets. I do recommend. Update: The price of this restaurant now is pretty ridiculous. I'm pretty sure it is £16 per person for LUNCH, not including drinks, so that is the only thing preventing me from coming here again.

Wing Wah Restaurant provided an exceptional dining experience with its delicious and authentic cuisine, leaving us thoroughly impressed. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome throughout our meal. We highly recommend Wing Wah for its great food and excellent service!

If I could give zero stars I would! Me and my partner came here last Saturday, we’ve been ill ever since with food poisoning. Had to seek medical attention on a few occasions and are only just a week later starting to feel better. Local council informed and awaiting a call from a case handler from Wing Wah but still nothing and I’m not confident we will hear from anyone. Avoid at all costs!!

A couple of bits of the food was over cooked before it went out. But can't fault the rest of the food, service on drinks was quick. Any questions to staff were answered quickly.

Food is cold. Plastic plates don't help either. Any Indian food is actually nowhere near to Indian taste. All other food mostly tasteless. Reception is a disaster, most of them struggle to understand what you are saying. One star for plenty of parking and one star for service/waiters, they try to do what they can.

Internal decor can do with an update. Damages everywhere. Not appealing. The table next to us refused to sit there due to the state of the walls.

Fantastic choice of cuisine and very friendly staff. Definitely recommend for a meal but prebooking is required due to demand. Ample parking space.

Food stale, cold, like cardboard chicken still pink in the middle, have the food court was empty, Deserts tasted like they had gone off nobody on hot food either. no body servicing clearing plates, for lunch nearly £40 for two with meal and Pepsi.

Wing wah food is totally shocking, no Indian food main courses are shocking, not a lot of choices and food is very bland and taste like it's been there for ages, food is very cold . What you pay is shocking and we had a child that was 11 and they charged us full price for her for what you get and the only reason I gave 1 star is so I can leave a review. Definitely wouldn't come here again, and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. We have been here for an hour, and no fresh food has come out. No, wouldn't there isn't much people here and now I know why. No one came over to ask you if your food was fine .

It was time that was best buffet in Cov. Now is the opposite. Overpriced , not good quality, many dishes not available during dinner time, many dishes only as meat option. Ice creams half a portion of in the past.

Terrible. Every dish except the chicken nuggets was left over and bland. All food had been re heated. Nothing was fresh. Lunch time 15.99 plus vat wasted. Only a few dishes on a Wednesday, not sure about the evening. Most chaffing dishes were empty, dumplings I was told only at night. The place had no music playing. Floor sticky as well. Worst Chinese buffet I have ever been to. Taste wise bland. Was too disappointed to try the deserts. So I won't comment there.

Tasty and huge variety. We go at least once per month as a family and has never let us down.

We have been coming here for the last few years for birthdays etc but slowly it has gotten worse. When we arrived, I tried to explain to the lady behind the counter that we had booked a table for 3, there was a slight language barrier it seemed, as she wasn't listening. She was then joined by another member of staff and between them they were more bothered with measuring our daughter (who is 11 years old) against the height chart so they could charge more as she was over the 1.4m height for children. We then had to pay for the food and drinks before we were shown to a table (we used to be able to sit down before ordering drinks) The reason I booked was to highlight that due to mobility issues, we needed a table nearer the front, again this was ignored and they tried to seat us at the back of the restaurant. When I tried to explain we were told that we should have said something to the lady at the desk, when I explained that I did we were just told " She doesn't understand English " just an idea but maybe employ someone who speaks English to work on the front desk? The food is ok, large selection but they have taken away some items (no seaweed anymore) while putting the prices up.

We have been coming here a few times, food is good, few new items ie spicy wings, fish pakora & donuts etc. The deserts are VERY POOR, need to have some propa cakes inc cheese cake, fritters diff flavours of ice cream etc. Also my 12yo thy charges full price of an adult yet she hardly eats a plate full. Changes like price per age not hight should be considered.

It's always lovely visiting wing wah, the variation in food dishes, all you can eat privileges 😋, you really have to get there on an empty stomach so that you can have a test of all the food varieties🤣😂🤣😂. I always enjoy my visit there with family and friends.

Overall alright experience. In contrast to other reviews condemning the toliets cleanliness, i found the washroom to be fairly clean - though all i did was wash my hands. I really liked the food options set out and the desserts aswell. The waiters were nice and it was fun to interact with them with the chinese translation on the table though they could speak english.

Had a great time here, food was fresh and hot, I really enjoyed the tepanyaki. Will definitely be going back next time I'm up this way.
