Wing Sing in Redbridge

Ordered a takeaway tonight.Malaysian chicken satay tasted like peanut butter mixed into gravy- not satay. Chips were raw. Reheated rice and chicken wings tasted funny!! No-one ate a thing. A real waste of money and a real let down from what used to be a great restaurant.

The Siu Yuk belly pork starter is a let down. I have ordered this 4 times from this place. The first time was great, every other time has been burnt like charcoal. Before my last order I told the lady on the phone and asked if there was a better day to order it as the last two times was clearly cooked on an earlier day a re cooked making it burnt. She didn't want to give me a discount or a free dish to make up for the repeated let downs in spite of me being a repeat customer. Instead she said she would tell the chef not to burn it this time. And said I could bring the dish back to return it. Which as I was ordering takeaway delivery, I thought was ridiculous. I also live very close and was charged £5 delivery despite what is advertised on leaflet menu. Unfortunately the dish was again overcooked and burnt. Such a shame :' ( I'm going to switch where I order Chinese from now.

Very nice proportions of food and an amazing taste of it!!!

Amazing takeaway and fantastic place to come and eat, can bring your own beer/drinks. All the classics are done well, plus the soft shell crab is a winner.

Restaurant charges for delivery even if your property is under 3 miles. Asked for chicken balls gave me prawn balls ( I’m allergic) then said i can have chicken balls on next order and because i questioned the delivery now refusing to take my order. Will be contacting trading services. Disgusting service.

Fab food, good size portions too Just don't expect the full 'restaurant' experience. More like a small café. A little gem x

Update: 17.8.2023 recent order from Wing Sing - the beef Ho fun noodle. (Beef shocking over cooked and so dry and cripsy) it was like they fried it before they stir fried it. The chef here is a hit and miss, that or the food is not prepped fresh. As I've ordered from here many times now and sometimes when it's good it really nice but on the occasion times it has been quiet bad due to food not prepped freshly. (Quiet disappointing really). The batter I had in the salt & pepper squid was so rock hard.. not able to eat that.(oddly because the prawn batter was fine) March 2023: I tried a new Chinese takeaway again. And end up ordering twice from here in one week! -Vietnamese spring rolls -( don't recomend) they are not the authentic type-more like egg rolls. Fish sauce not made right. - Singapore noodles was too salty (improved since I last ordered) - pepper ribbs is way too dry and tough to eat. (don't recommend) -Hot and sour soup was nice -Special curry a bit too watery and flavour is abit different to what we used to. (don't recommend) -Sweet and sour pork- good taste -Sweet and chicken balls - chicken too dry inside but didn't mind as it had the sauce. Ho Fun beef - taste nice and beef was good too Lemon chicken - great that the sauce is separated -plain chow mein - abit too oily. Overall it has good portion size for reasonable price.

Have been ordered for this Chinese for a long time and cannot believe how I was dealt with with a complaint. My food turned up cold. The driver had told me that he was stuck in traffic. The lady took the order but didn’t take the order down right and kept telling me she did Really disappointed and really will not order from here again. I would not recommend anybody to order from there always seem to be making mistakes but this is the first time, but I found them up and made a complaint. I thought you would give me an apology her answer was to resolve the problem of, it’s not my fault there’s traffic I do understand that, but when the food is turned up cold and some of the order is missing, I don’t like this traffic is that for the thought of that

Best old fashioned style chinese in the area..........food is served within a few minutes and always outstanding. Only a small place so check before going on seat availability

One of the best Chinese around.. food is tasty and service is super quick.. they allow you to bring your own alcohol but please respect your fellow diners.. my wife and children also like coming here.. keep up the good work Wayne 👍 our favourite Chinese!

Poor customer service's, Bad food Bad language

Lightly fried which is good. Big portions of chicken chow mein and king prawns. Pancake roll slightly smaller than from my usual place. Was more expensive than my usual place but still tasty food.

The best Chinese in the area by far. If you like authentic like I do having traveled to Malaysia and Hong Kong

Ordered from here this evening. Food was nice and staff were really helpful. They said 90mins for delivery so I said no but they called back and said they had found a driver. Really appreciated that they went the extra mile.

Told the delivery would be 1 hour, Waited 1 hour 50 minutes and still not left the restaurant. Kept being told it will be with us in 5 minutes when clearly it was not going to arrive at all. Have used this take away a number of times with no issue. Clearly they are struggling to fulfil orders tonight. You are only as good as your last order Wing Sing and misleading customers is the worst possible service you could provide.

Dessert out of this world, unique recipe and absolutely delicious. Food amazing and service outstanding.

Good Chinese food and portions on all dishes ...you can take your own booze...but I dont think its the type of place you want to get off your face with alcohol. Its more like a Chinese cafe Nice staff ...but they not good at telling jokes. 30 seconds from South Woodford central line station. Parking can be a bit tricky, beware cameras everywhere.

Food is sooo delicious! We've only moved to the area recently and found this little gem and it's also a family run business! The team are so friendly and welcoming and also speak cantonese which is amazing, to top it off they do the best Filipino desserts (we got halo halo, ube milkshake and the homemade ube brownie with ice cream), I would definitely be returning and recommend to all my friends and family! 😍♥️

Great service, cute shop. The fried rice could do with some sauce or soy sauce but it had a good flavour.

Lacks ambience but the excellent food more than makes up for it.

This has been one of the best Chinese takeaways I’ve ever had. Fresh, tasty and clean looking, not oily and smelt good. Also I noticed the shop is very clean. I will definitely be ordering from here again and recommending them.

Was recommended by a neighbour and first try has been very good. Malaysia Satay was good. Hong Kong style sweet and sour couldn't really have been improved. Great battered chicken and CHUNKY pineapple, onion, peppers. Special fried rice was full of stuff.

Wing sing really is top notch. Top, top notch. I would reccomend the fried rice it's one of the best in the world.

Always had consistently good food from here and ordered weekly, best Chinese I've found in South Woodford in a year and a half. The staff were always very friendly and polite. Favourite dish was the salt and pepper chicken but the roast pork belly was good as well.

Very disappointed with the food No taste to my beef in black bean sauce or the soup or the chicken chow mein £13 for salt and pepper soft shell crab but all tiny pieces instead of one piece as it should be and only about 8 pieces.. staff friendly enough but for bill of £50 i would expect so. So disappointed

Just ordered 30 pounds worth of food from here because our normal Chinese is closed and it was awful. The food isn’t fresh and tastes old! We all feel sick after eating the food and will not be returning. I wish Woodford high road Chinese would open - it’s cheaper and the food is nice.

Definitely the worst I have EVER had.The food was awful-the duck overcooked and stringy,the ribs overcooked and dry & the sauce quite disgusting,the squid tiny specks of tasteless rubbish.took it all back.A shame as they used to be good

I've bought Chinese food here for many years. Never had a problem. All our friends love it when we get a takeaway from here.

Ordered for the first time today as I'd called about 15 chinese takeaways closer to home and they were all closed! We are very pedantic about chinese food as we are used to our local. They guy on the phone couldnt help enough and the order was just right on delivery. Taste tested everything first as very picky but it didnt disappoint. Would order here again for sure.

Place an order yesterday for a takeaway for the first time. Staff very pleasant over the telephone, however food lets down Wing sing. The fried rice dishes lack favour and contents. For example the Vegetable fried rice lacked vegetables, the ribs were too dry. Overall quality of food poor compared to other local Chinese takeaways, will not use again

We tried Wing Sing as we need a replacement takeaway restaurant after Devine closed. The woman behind the counter was friendly and offered some advice. Ordering was simple. Payment is cash only. Unfortunately we were not impressed with the food at all. Far more sauce than needed. In fact it was almost overflowing the containers. The food was lost, presumed drowned, somewhere in the sauce. We ended up throwing out a load of sauce. It wasn’t worth saving for another time as it didn’t even taste that good. We won’t be going back

We have been customers of Wing Sing since the very first day they opened their doors (this was a long, long time ago) and most likely will remain so until the day we die. We are quite particular about where we go and what we eat, the quality of food served here has never faltered. We are treated like family friends, because we are.

I live quite near the restaurant and I drop in at times. Never disappoints! Always delicious and smells very good. My mum is a hard- to- impress kind of person and she loves their food!

We really fancied a Chinese Takeaway tonight and decided to give Wing Sing another chance after having a poor one about 6 months ago . The reason being , there doesn’t seem to be any decent ones in the area that deliver. Big mistake , took an hour and quarter to turn up , I don’t mind it being late but of course it was cold . 6 dishes were ordered, only the Singapore noodles and fried rice were eaten . Even after gently reheating the food it was not very nice . We will not be ordering from here again .

Friendly service and duck is delicious, but the noodle dishes are kinda dry and need more sauce. Went there twice in a week for take away, and would be happy to go back for more and try other dishes. 3 stars because I live in Singapore and travel to hong Kong and Taiwan and China for work, so know what real Chinese food tastes like.

I miss wing sing, quick and tasty food, especially there duck soup is a must try!

This is the first time I've eaten here. Have wasked past it many times. The restaurant is quite unassuming but dont let that put you off. The decor is very basic but the food is great. Our order arrived quickly and hot each element was very tasty and all reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning

Waste of money, the food looked grey and old. All the grey beef from the chow main at the bottom of the foil container with old noodles on top. Just looked so horrible and smelt old, we had to throw it away. Very disappointed and never again.

We have been getting take-aways from this place for years but the standard of food has become very poor in the last few years! Today the lamb in the black bean sauce was so slimy and horrible that it tasted disgusting☹️ our orders have on many occasions been given to us wrong!! Time to find a new Chinese take-away!!

We always went elsewhere for our chinese takeaway meals, but once those restaurants closed we decided to try Wing Sing - in hindsight we wish we'd have gone here earlier! Great food at good prices and this is now the place we'll go if we're in the area and in the mood for a chinese takeaway.

I've only ordered via delivery firstly, and I've only ordered 3 dishes from this place (not including the prawn crackers) so my review is slightly biased (seeing the other reviews). Quick to order, quick to deliver. The staff were helpful when asked a few questions and the driver (seen one guy deliver multiple times) is very patient and polite. Now for the food. Special Hor Fun is good. Would recommend. Always tasty. Been ordering it for ages. Next, the Pancake Roll. A simple dish and this restaurant have managed to make it taste good. I've ordered this a few times and I can recommend too. Lastly, the prawn balls. Chicken balls are cooked in the same way just as an fyi. From the portion, I had to leave 4 as I felt queasy. This means that the balls were terribly greasy. Other details include the balls not being crispy as a result of the grease, and the batter was quite large, making it more sickening. The prawns also were slightly chewy. I've only tried them once, so order away. The sweet and sour sauce was good though. Just the right amount of thickness and taste. That's all I can say for now.

Went there after a recommendation from a friend. . On arrival, no toilet- disgraceful. We swiftly departed and our “friend” was given stern words of advice about his conduct and ideas.

My partner and I had purchased food here and the food is terrible. No spice and no flavour. Ribs was dry.....everything Taste horrendous. Plus small portions. I took two bites and threw everything away. Waste of money!!!

Not good. Chicken is poached. Curry sauce bland. Sweet n sour balls over cooked and very greasy. Rice tasteless. Chow mein was just ok.

My family and I , colleagues, friends have been eating from this restaurant for a few years now. The food has always been very good. I decided to leave a review only now as I have read some comments which were surprising! Highly recommended, never a bad experience, consistently good! Mostly we have take away, and only on a few occasions eating in! Is the only chinese food that I miss whenever I go away! They indeed deserve good reviews !

Great food, great staff, been eating there for 12 years

This place used to be 4 stars. It has sadly been serving poor quality food. It used to be much fresher. The duck is not crispy. The pork Hong-Kong style is very tough and dry. Salt and pepper chicken very dry. Everything tastes like it has just been reheated. Bring back the old food.

Food is great, been here lots of time since I was young. very family friendly place too. Most times I get delivery but do order early on Saturdays as there can be a queue.

I've been coming to Wing Sing for as long as I can remember. Really nice old school cafe type restaurant. Staff are friendly, unlike most other Chinese restaurants close by. Food has been consistent over the years, really decent Chicken Chow Mien, think noodles and big portion.
