Wine Gallery in Croydon

Each time we go to the Portuguese Tavern in Purley, it feels just like being on holiday. The atmosphere is very friendly and the food is good. We have enjoyed many a pleasant times there and the prices are good value.

We thought this wine bar was closing but I think the owners may have gone into partnership with other people. The service is excellent, but wine not as nice as before. What was a big concern though was the young man behind the bar was scruffy, looked dirty and drunk, he sat on the step outside smoking this really is not a good image!

Have been a number of times. Owners friendly and really want you to have a nice evening. Tapas great and wine really well priced, with loads of choice. Hope this independent business does really well.

It was a nice experience nice wine nice cheese board and the owners very attentive and very friendly. Will come again.

Had a lovely Saturday evening with my sistee at the Wine Gallery. Great wine choice and a good selection of tapas. Service was super friendly and the atmosphere was laid back and the perfect choice if you want a chilled catch up - looking forward to the next opportunity to return!

Popped in to this lovely little wine bar and was pleasantly surprised by the value for money and high quality wine and coffee. Lovely place for a coffee or drink with very competitive prices. The house red was absolutely delicious and much cheaper than a pub or bar. We popped in for a coffee but stayed for several drinks and had a bite to eat. The menu is not extensive but for a light bite and drink this is a gorgeous place with stylish decor and a welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be going again for coffee, cocktails and wine.

We have been to the wine gallery a few times now and it gets better every time.We had an amazing red today with a selection of cheese and prosciutto which was amazing. This is a very new venue and the owners are very receptive on how to make it even better. Well worth popping in for a wine and relax and look at the art.

Popped in on a spur of the moment decision. What a place. Quite different to anything else Purley has to offer. Lovely wines, great artwork to look over and nice ambiance to talk to people in. Owners are very pleasant and happy to give background in wines etc. Will be back to try the food soon. Nice to support a small new local business trying to dare be different.

Popped into this new find completely out of interest. I'd just come back from 2 weeks in Bordeaux and was already missing the wine culture. This is an Italian take on a number of the places I'd enjoyed on holiday. A friendly sommelier took me through the wine options. The wine of the day was full bodied, fruity and superb value. I am already planning to bring some friends here. Did not get around to trying the tapas on this occasion but hoping to shortly!

We discovered this place whilst walking to the train station. The artwork in the window drew us in with the beautiful bright colours the walls are full of beautiful bright artwork and the owners were very helpful and guided us to try the wine if the week which was lovely and full bodied. We had only just eaten but next time will come here to Graze on the substantial Tapas Menu.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon with husband. Wanted to support this local business. The wine of the week was delicious red and white so we brought some! Tapas was very basic but fresh and tasty. Nice friendly service. We had some great conversations with the other guests! I wish the wine gallery well. You can purchase food and wine etc from them and they have some great artwork.

Popped in with my bestie as its just opened and thought it looked worth a go. We didn't eat, but the food looked lovely and homely. A Portuguese tapas if you like. The service was great and the value for money superb. All the wine is Portuguese (we had the house red: nice) Sweet place, lovely people and we'll be going back
