Just walked into this little gem of a find after walking out of somewhere else felt welcome great staff and customers food was lovely our dog was more than welcome highly recommended Very affordable well worth the visit Most enjoyable

Very little choice on menu went for my 60 th birthday so left and went elsewhere

Really nice and quiet pub for a family meal. The food was really nice and priced good too 😁.

Just popped in the local with the wife and dogs 🐕 for bit of fodder and juice after our gruelling trek down the greenway! Plonked ourselves on a lovely table outside with the sun beating down on us. I went with the mac and cheese jacket potato 🥔 and my god it was a beaut. Came out all cheesey with macaroni cheese, bbq sauce and spring onions, also had a couple of beer battered onion rings on top. Lovely bit of fodder, polished it off, dogs had a slurp of water 💧 then carried on our long gruelling journey trying to find home! ET phone home 🏡

We had a wrap, chips and side salad, the food was very hot, staff as usual very friendly.

A quaint local pub serving reasonable lagers and ales there's usually some guest ales to sample there's a large outdoor area which gets very busy when the sun is shining there is various entertainment throughout the week and some live entertainment monthly The staff are always friendly and helpful the food menu is very limited but what's on offer is usually pretty good I would recommend this pub to anyone "no frills value for money "

We come most Thursdays for the pub quiz and it’s always amazing all round. Dom, Sarah and Jamie were superb tonight!

Recently had my mothers wake there, the food and service was excellent 👌

We had a fabulous time here, whilst meeting for a family meal. The manager Ben and his team are fantastic and go above and beyond. They are all attentive, friendly and provide a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Great food, amazing prices and a family pub that gives a sense of belonging. We even chose games, that are available to play, whilst you wait. Highly recommended *****+ Thanks Ben and all your teams....until next time 🙂

The pub is lovely with some fabulous quirks. The pizza was the worst I've ever tasted, with way too much cheese, meaning the base was soggy and cold. I did ask for it to be cooked more, but it was back in less than 5 mins looking and tasting the same. The brownie was overcooked, making the chocolate bitter. The chips were nice. My son said the garlic bread and burger were very good. A complete hit and miss visit, which means we probably won't go again, which is a shame as we live local.

Ordered lasagne and got half a dish empty... portion might qualify for a kid but not for an adult. Staff said that it is how it comes. Not going back. Burgers were ok

What a lovely little pub! The manager and his team made us feel very welcome, it’s got a traditional feel without feeling stuffy and the food was brill! We can’t believe we have never been here before but that will now change! Thank you to the Windmill team!

Food was nice but not every choice on the menu was available. Service staff was a bit rude and not welcoming or helpful. If they don't like their job, there are plenty more people who would be more suited to the position.

Great Dog friendly pub, very helpful staff and excellent service. The food was great value. We sat outside in the beer garden, dogs are also welcome inside the bar.

Food is basic and portions are a little small for the price. Staff are incompetent. They can pour a pint, but that's about it. Table management is bad and they don't seem to understand you need to clean a table when people book it. They had no idea about the reservations and we had to wait for the staff to find out from the manager. Can't operate a tab or till. Tried to charge for extra drinks on the tab which we didn't order. had to complain to get a refund. was almost doubling the bill.

Londoner who popped into this Derby pub. Was exactly how I wanted a pub in Derby to feel (if that makes any sense!). Cute, cosy, brilliant food and lovely staff. If you’re fancying a pub lunch or just a drink, this is a great place to do it.

Absolutely brilliant time had by all of us, another Mackworth lad in there and then my cousin and uncle from Oakwood turn up as well. 1st time I've been in for about 30yrs. X

Told food was served until 9pm,ordered food 820 only to be told sorry we are on rest break until 930.really don't bother.

Decided to stop off for a drink whilst walking our dog and found it to be a great place, to relax and unwind for a while. Great selection of drinks, lots of seating outside (great for when the warm weather is here!) And dogs are allowed in the left side of the pub, which is really nice. Although we've not tried any of the other food, the cheesy chips we've had on both occasions have been fab! Nice and hot, plenty of cheese and something to hit the spot. So I'm sure the rest of the food here is certainly worth a try (sounds like it from the menu). Looking forward to stopping off here again on a future dog walk. 😊👍🏻

Came here and ordered through the app. After 30mins, had to go in, wait in line for 20mins to get the drinks. The food however, never showed up and after 2hrs of waiting, we were told to cancel and get a refund (which would take 3 days they said) Lack of management, service, communication and compensation was astounding. I asked the only person serving if the drinks should also get refunded and was told he had no idea what to do. Clearly! Edit after the owner’s reply: How about starting with acknowledging and apologising as it should be pretty straightforward for you to ascertain what went on on the day as we weren’t the only people affected. Not sure what resolution you want to assist me with? Sounds more like a generic response.

A nice little village pub situated on the outskirts of Derby, it seemed very popular with the locals There is a large car park and disabled entrance, and a medium-sized beer garden at the front of the pub. The drinks were reasonably priced. i noticed they served food, but i didn't see the menu as i wasn't there for that It's definitely worth trying.

A pleasant pub! Very friendly staff, quick service. Didn’t have to book a table just walked in for 2 of us. The food was typical pub grub. Was tasty. Nice starters, meatballs and onion bhajis. The mains was ok, we ordered the chicken and chips and the Carolina reaper pizza which was sooo spicy! Very cheap and cheerful

Went in for a bite to eat after work, menu was nice and the atmosphere relaxed,ans the food came out piping hot as it just cooked (perfection!) My daughter had a conversation with near enough every customer and staff who were very polite and engaging with her. And the TV kept her somewhat entertained during our time there.

Good food, feel they need more bar staff at their very busy times e.g. the weekends. The bar can be very rowdy at times though the lounge is fine plenty of seating both inside and out.

Terrible service at windmill Pub today, decided to go there for lunch today and ordered 3 drinks and 3 roast dinners, we were informed that the food will be 40 minutes, and then waited another 45 minutes and we still hadn’t received any drinks and realised that other people were receiving theirs that had arrived after us, we were then told that our order had been lost so no food or drinks had been ordered, how can they lose our order ??? we were extremely unhappy and decided to cancel the food as were going to have to wait another hour and a half for this, and yes we had the drinks for free. This is the last time we will be drinking or eating in this pub, I felt the bar staff didn’t give a damn so they certainly don’t get my money. PS I have given you 1 star but only so my review gets posted and other people see this.

My Daughter booked a table, paid £10 deposit, also to eat there specifically. For a birthday celebration. We arrived 15 minutes prior our booking, checked in , then we where told there was no food left, so the deposit would be taken off our drinks order. We agreed to stay time 7.50 pm ordered drinks, they arrived at 8.50pm . A bottle of Prosecco came with 2 very odd glasses clearly they didn't know the difference in wine glasses. No apology was given . My daughter was very upset as she wanted My husband and myself to have a special evening with her and her partner. I know the excuse will be Covid , but that doesn't make up for poor service a d bad management.

We went yesterday. First time at the pub for months so a bit apprehensive but needn't have worried. You check in at the car park entrance, track and trace, hand sanitise then you're shown to your pre-booked table. All very well organised and safe. We had a 4 hour slot booked. There are brand new tables and benches with umbrellas all across the car park so no on site parking unfortunately. Drinks and food can be ordered and paid for on the 'My Pub' app or you can order from the staff who serve you at your table. The original seating area behind the little fence is a 'walk in' area. If there's a free table you can have it without a booking. Food was served until 5pm only but it all looked and smelt delicious. There's a one way system to use the toilet....in the front door then down the back steps to come out, then around the building to get back to your seat. Masks have to be worn to go indoors. I felt perfectly safe as every possible precaution had been taken. One complaint though was the hand dryer in the ladies loo didn't work but there was plenty of loo roll 😊👍 Well done to all the staff who worked really hard to make sure everything ran like clockwork 👏🏾👏🏻👍🏻👏🏼👏

Was OK. Difficult in these times I get, but to be ushered in like children and insisting on seeing whether track and trace had been scanned is a bit much.
