New to the area and was recommended here.. loved it! We had large mix meat and chips with curry sauce (and a fritter on the side!). Everything was delicious, even though we went 30 mins before closing time, everything was still fresh. Very friendly staff 🙂 will definitely be returning!

Have tried a few chippies in the area and found this one to be far and above the best. Great portions, crispy batter and no grease. Highly recommended.

This afternoon I was on the way home from the playground with my little girl when she fell off her scooter & ended up scraping her arm. The very kind lady in the Windmill Chip Shop noticed my daughter’s distress and handed my daughter some chips & a fritter. She didn’t ask for payment & told us she hoped my little girl would feel better soon. This instantly put a big smile on my little girl’s face. Although her arm was of course still bleeding &hurting, the food provided a much welcomed distraction. According to my daughter those were the best chips she has ever tasted. Thank you very much kind lady from the Windmill Fish Bar :)

Best fish and chips in Stafford! The food is amazing compared to other chippies, even the kebab is very good! Customer service is wonderful, the lady who runs the place is also very nice.

Great, good quality food, hence 5 stars. The only issue was the length of time we were waiting. 30 minutes to queue then wait for a large fish & chips and 2 x kebabs which is a quite ridiculous AND that’s with being the 2nd person in the queue. Two people after us left. It’s a shame as this is a good little chippie.

It's many years since I have been to any fish and chip shop. I live very close to the Windmill Fish Bar and tonight I was totally delighted. I was treated to a very friendly reception by the lady and shown great respect. I felt special from the start. My fish was cooked whilst I waited and everything was so clean and fresh. I had my meal at home and what a joy that was. Wonderful I can't speak highly enough of the way I was treated and the food handed over was delicious.

Great traditional Fish and Chips. A well managed and run take away at all times. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend highly to family and friends.

the quality of the food is great.the owner really prides herself on her food.very clean place and covid friendly .i try to use this establishment at least once a week.

The lady owner is the nicest lady ever, and all the food is freshly cooked. She uses groundnut oil, and the chips are superb. We struggle to decide what we want, as everything is beautiful. I would not go anywhere else now. Customer service is brilliant too.

The best chippy in Stafford. After avoiding mixing with other people for almost a year because of COVID and family health problems the lure of the chippy got the better of me. The fish and chips are excellent and I can highly recommended the food. However, the three members of staff were not wearing face coverings and there was no social distancing. All of the customers were wearing masks but it’s very worrying to see the staff preparing and serving the food not following suit.

The lovely couple who run this shop went out of their way to deliver a fish and chip supper to my 91 year old Mum stuck in hospital fighting the coronavirus. She thoroughly enjoyed her treat and thought they were the best fish and chips she has tasted. I can't thank them enough they were amazing and when we are up that way after things get back to normal (we live in Kent) we shall definitely be dropping by for some of their wonderful Fish and Chips!

Hands down the best chippy in Stafford.I’m fairly regular in here when I’m in the area, if you’re after a traditional chippy dinner then look no further!Very high quality battered fish (the best I’ve had apart from being at the seaside) these are usually cooked to order but defo worth the 5 mins or so wait.Chips are always high quality, you can tell they’re also fresh to order.Traditional mushy peas/curry sauce here are always bang on!Highly recommend.The woman that runs the place is a delight!Repeat customer.

Most definitely the best chippy in Stafford , best kebab meat and best chips , the fish is superb just enough batter around the chunky flaky fish , everything is cooked fresh so you do wait a while but it’s certainly worth it . The staff are really pleasant to ..

Went here for the first time during Lockdown and wasn't disappointed order 2 large Haddock's and chips and was the best I can say I've ever had. This is our new place to go. Lady owner is loverly too.

Went here as I was visiting stafford and the shop was around the corner from the train station. I went and had a lunch box A small fish and chips ,peas and can of drink and I tell you what it was cooked to order and the Cod was the best I've ever had the batter light and crispy the chunks of white cod was cooked go perfection.

Had given up on decent fish and chips but then someone said our closet one had changed hands so we gave it another go. Yay at last great fish and chips in Stafford. Excellent service and alway good.

After a long time without a good chip shop it's great to have a good one again. Always busy. Always freshly cooked fish. Excellent!

If you live in stafford or just visiting, this little fish'n'chip shop is the best in the country. I had 2 of the most tastiest haddock, curry sauce,mushy peas and chips, all wer cooked to perfection with golden crispy light dry batter....amazing, worth more than 5 stars.

Since Kully took this chip shop over, we are regulars. She remembers everyone’s name which is a lovely touch. She is so friendly and hardworking. Her food is the tastiest chip shop food we’ve had. Many thanks Kully, I’m glad we popped in that first time :)

In my 57 years I have never ever tasted fish and chips like it this chip shop deserves a Michelin star.

Since the new owner (Mat 2018) came in quality is much better, good choice of fish types, and chips fried in ground nut oil which makes for much lighter chips not soaked in fat.

Very rarely have but when I do I very much enjoy. Have eaten from numerous in Stafford, but this is closest to where I have lived for the past 20 years & have always found food great & staff also friendly.

Good place, only issue is they don't take card payment. But is very good. Parking outside. Chips are as good as you will get anywhere.

Again great food and good value for money. We loved the freshly cooked food and again recommend this Fish & Chips take away to be not missed.

i was ordering some food and i was waiting, then i looked back and one of the employees coughed really hard and a lot with out covering his mouth, all over the chips and open fryers!

Since Cooley's return this is back to being the best chip shop. Light, tasty fish, not too much batter. Light batter. Lovely. Would highly recommend.

I have used this chippy for many years and can honestly say it is the best it has ever been. From the welcoming, the service and the food! I think I can safely say I have tried everything that I would order from a chippy, and more recently, things I would never of! And have never once had any food that I have not thoroughly enjoyed!

I don’t often have fish and chips but felt I had to do another review for Windmill Fish Bar. The cod was beautifully cooked, thick and flaky fillets and crisp batter. The owner obviously takes great pride in sourcing really good produce. Highly recommend.

As always a high standard of service and freshly cooked food. Loved every mouthful and did not want tea to end ! Highly recommended by the whole family.

Had small cod and chips which was cooked to order. Lovely piece of flaky, chunky cod perfectly cooked and great chips. Friendly staff. Will definitely visit again.

Windmill fish bar is under new management since June. Must be tried to experience the best fish and chips. Highly recommended. Must be tried. Mmm
