The problem is the hygiene. Chefs don't wear any gloves touched everything and prepared the food. I actually asked the chef personally that we he isn't wearing any gloves and he said they wash their hands every 5 minutes. Well gloves would be also helpful.

Really bad service , says it’s open until 9pm but the grills off at 8:35pm . Just drove back from Cornwall, kids hungry. Check your google opening times

Once I peeled back the sheen of nostalgia I wondered what I was doing here…. The place was clean and the service was good so no bad comments on the staff at all. It was like stepping back in time but surely you have to develop your menu and ingredients a bit. There are so many good burger places around these days… so this should prompt Wimpy to up their game. For the price paid it was very basic burger and chips. You get better at any kebab shop, only difference is it’s on a plate with cutlery. My wife did like her milkshake however so can see why people go for them. Amazed Wimpy are still in business.

They forgot my sauce which I paid £2 for … my hash browns were sooooo small and burnt … the chips were overcooked and so dry , don’t remember last time I had chips as bad as these… I used to order often from wimpy but this order has ruined my appetite and my lunch as well as such a waste of money …

The food quality is amazing which makes it the best burger place go to eat because it is fresh and tasty. The staff are friendly, quick, reliable and respectful people who knows what to do. The food is little pricey but worth going there to eat your burger that is so tasty that you will go there again and again. They will leave you with the first best impression that you will remember it for life. I have been there for my burger , pancakes and milkshakes which was so good that I enjoyed every moment of it and the best part is they serve it with a smile. The place is retro, colourful, clean, tidy, bright but small because it is like that I stepped back in the 90s.

Order not delivered. Although the driver said it had. Would have been very hard as there wasn’t a number to deliver it to. Phoned the wimpy but they couldn’t care less. As long as they have the money. Will not be ordering from them again.

Burger tasted like a beef flavoured sponge in a dry and disintegrating bun. Interesting and costly experience that I do not recommend and will not repeat.

It's Wimpy, so it's not fine dining, but I'm basing the rating on like-for-like with other burger restaurants. It's great for nostalgia value, not to mention the novelty of real cutlery, crockery, and table service. The food was tasty, hot, and plentiful, and a proper pot of tea to finish up. The prices are fair and the menu has some unique items. Every bit as good as I remember - we need more Wimpy restaurants!

My other half was so excited to find a wimpy as he hasn't seen one since he was a child. He had a burger and thought it was just ok . I think he expected it to be like he remembers, in the olden days 🤣 but was disappointed with how sloppy it was and half way through it started to fall apart. My son enjoyed the chicken burger. I could have had a beyond meat vegan burger but I didn't fancy it, especially as I couldn't have chips because they were not vegan. I couldn't eat a burger without chips 🤣

So lovely to visit the Wimpy. As any 80s child will know we all loved The Wimpy and Mr Wimpy. This character has long since gone but it’s still love to know that there are still some Wimpys about. The service was friendly. They do the best milkshakes and the seating is comfy.

Terrible. Had a take away. They did not follow instructions and they did not add the special sauce to the burger. It was bone dry. Called them and was basically told I was a liar and they had followed the instructions. So dry tasted like eating a flip flop. Love Wimpy but the Loughton branch is awful. Overpriced for what you get.

Lovely retro decor, classic menu, what could be better.

Excellent food, well prepared and served. Attentative staff. Mc Donald's? No thanks. Excellent tea/coffee in a proper cup. Real plates. Not rushed or hurried along. No waste product to dispose of. Better, greener, tastier, civilised.

Popped in with my 2 kids to get ice cream JESS was very helpfull and showed me that it worked out better to order 2 adults as they are BOGOF, Ice creams and doughnut where absolutely delicious, Will definitely be returning Thank you

Haven’t had a wimpy in ages, it didn’t disappoint. I had the quarter pounder with cheese chips and a Pepsi. The service was fantastic, the restaurant is really clean and well looked after. Will visit again soon

Clean comfortable very attentive

Was taking a trip down memory lane but did not live up to our memories. Food was served up hot and lovely but just not as we remembered.

Love the Loughton Wimpy. They have the best quorn burger and delicious sweet potato fries. Always comes out piping hot and fresh and always good value.

Oh my gosh, I've not had a Wimpy for years. It tasted as good as I remember, took me back to being a kid. I had the Original quarter pounder with cheese chips and chocolate milkshake... to die for! Pricey but tasty and even bought a bottle of their 'special' sauce 😋

I had always walked past this place for 20 years+ then a few months ago I ordered. Then again last weekend. I can safely say that on both occasions, the burgers were pretty terrible. They had a horrible, rubbery overcooked feel and they tasted of almost nothing except old grease. There's a reason you don't see these places much, especially when you consider the competition *ahem* Five Guys... I gave you 2 chances, Never again. Oh, and they are wildly overpriced, especially if to take away, since they can't use "the standard of service" as an excuse to sell sub-par school canteen food.

Just love Wimpy is still around and that everything is always so fresh here. Bit difficult to park, so don't come as often as I'd like, but my waistline is probably thankful for that!

Hadn't been in a wimpy for decades the loughton branch I attended it was clean the quarterpounder picture showed it with fries but once again your charged extra cola drink nearly £3 staff looked unhappy expensive

To wimpy at Forest Road Loughton on my behalf and my friends I want to say thank you for your great service special your staff how they looked after us yesterday day and the food was fantastic brilliant service I personally recommend people to go go to wimpy your burgers and chips are fantastic and your puddings I haven't chocolate brownie and ice cream my friend really had pancakes and ice cream and there were fantastic brilliant and I can't wait to go back to wimpy and I hope you've another century for you people as work so good also your star has such a happy face like I said you looked after so good

I had fond memories of eating at Wimpy as a child. Bone China with real cutlery so I could eat my burger like a dignified British person…. Roll on thirty years later and all that has gone out the window. Today’s fast paced lifestyle has completely eradicated anything that I remember, I was hoping that the taste of the food would evoke some sort of inner childhood memories ratatouille style. Alas, my order took a parsec short of an eon, the burger was bland and my server may have cracked her face if she ever smiled. In short….. leave your memories in that dank sweet spot in your mind.

If you're planning a dinner at home and rely on Wimpy, you better have a backup plan! Order placed at 17:30 via UberEats with delivery scheduled for 20:30-21:00 I received a notification from UberEats that my order was cancelled at 20:53. Very unprofessional! As this was my first experience with this fast food restaurant I think it will be my last Extremely disappointed :(

Loyal wimpy customer here lovely branch of wimpy in loughton, clean and tidy. I always go there because they always provide great food and excellent service. Watch out for hot and cold manageress because sometimes she will say hi and sometimes she wont reply :( Anyways I will always be visiting to support my local wimpy branch.

Had a retro date night with my partner there. And the menu hasn't changed one bit! Some may say this is bad, but it brought back old memories of when I went as a teen! Staff are amazing and really helpful. In fact so helpful there was an elderly lady who lost her bus pass and they went to the shops she went to to retrieve them. I cannot fault the food or the staff there.

Wimpy wimpy wimpy. It used to be a gastronomical expedition into the flavours of ground up cow between bread. Nowadays... it's more of a study into how things used to be. I mean its OK, acceptable at best...it's tasty enough. But you're not gonna be coming here if you want an amazing burger. Prices are little bit much eh? For an average burger it should cost a little less, I've had better and cheaper from burger vans (big up burger vans). Staff were friendly so that's good, one even smiled, give her a pay rise.

Is it me or do Wimpy burgers taste more greasy these days than the past? Had a burger recently and it tasted not so nice. Might of been the processed cheese of course but I'm pretty certain that it was the meat itself that tasted like it had a higher fat content.

We visited in the early evening and just wanted dessert which was very nice. Staff friendly. Ambience not so good, but still worth a visit if you're in the Loughton area.

Amazing food and great service. I moved from Chingford 2 years ago, but whenever I visit, I always love to pop into the Wimpy in Loughton on route home.

Not as good as it used to be, burger is tasteless
