Willow Farm - Dining & Carvery in Northumberland

The menu states "As each and every carvery plate is different, calorie information can be found at the carvery counter" But there is no such information available. It just tells you what each item is. I hope that this can be improved upon, customers should be able to make informed decisions about the food they are eating. Other than that fairly decent restaurant food is well priced for what you get.

What's the point of having lemon cheesecake on display if they are only for display and you cant actually buy any?

Food is average, standard pub/carvery. Food cold when arrived

Food was warm, and gammon was burnt .pineapple was black on one side..

I have been here a few times and I have always enjoyed my time within the establishment, the staff are always friendly and helpful, recently the play area has been refurbished which looks great and to top it off a new menu came out not to long ago, so get down to it, I know I will.

Went on two occasions 4 days apart, both times there was no hot drinks as the drinks machine was broken,they offer cake and a cuppa but what do you get ??? Noticed another machine but its only used for breakfasts so I was told. Not everyone wants to drink alcohol if your driving.

Disappointed they do not do ales anymore. Food amd service was excellent

Booked a table near play area 4 adults and our 1year old granddaughter. Play area very busy and older children in toddler section throwing things around. Not safe for our granddaughter. We had ordered a drink which took 20 minutes. We asked to move table for our food but there wasn't one. Too many adults not supervising their children. We left without eating.

Been twice in 2 weeks on a Sunday the food is very nice but when it gets quieter the staff are hopeless you are standing at the bar and loads of staff just wandering around and you can see they are doing nothing only 1 person serving behind the bar not good service for the size of the place they should have more staff permanently manning the bar

( To add! This complaint has been resolved by the staff at willow farm to which i am very greatful. Ordered a carvery to collect, arrived at my collection time, 15mins, until a member of staff came to the collection desk after I had to grab their attention. Took the order home and realised that only 1 of the 3 meats had been put on my meal. So I took my meal back and spoke to a young lady, I was treated with response what do you want us to do.. 🤔 give me what I ordered? She took my meal away and said ill get you a new one. Got my replacement meal, which came with a half arsed Sorry, I had a quick look to see it was right. Once home, I realised that besides the other two meals I ordered, I had stuff missing ( stuffing and 1, not 3 roasties). Wasn't going back again, and when trying to call to complain, the phone was answered but hung up straight away. After that, it was constantly line busy. The food was so bland.. coliflower cheese was so watery and the one roastie I got was soggy. Would not recommend. To add.. i was asked to contact them to talk about my review, I did this and they are as good at answering emails as they are at answering calls.

Staff were really accommodating and helped with booking. Price was great - three kids eat free with one paying adult.

Absolutely chaos. I know it is free play area but when there is 15 year olds knocking little kids over then something needs to be done! My daughter was knocked over and has fractured her finger…. Do you know not one of the staff came over to see us? Even asking if there was ice packs or first aider available. Absolutely shocking.

Awful. I appreciate it was half term and expected it to be busy however the lack of supervision by both parents and staff around the restaurant and play area was ridiculous. Whilst I understand parents are ultimately responsible for their children, it becomes an issue when my almost 2 year old is hit a few times right infront of us as we are in the soft play bit with him. Parents of the kids doing nothing about it even after we say something. Kids running up and down the restaurant banging into chairs, again just chaos. At this point we just get up and leave before even ordering and staff did absolutely nothing about it when we mentioned it to them. I do believe staff at certain points absolutely have to take responsibility for their guests getting hit in their establishment! They should be telling parents of these kids to either correct the behaviour or leave but they couldn't care less. Disgusting. Will never return.

Amazing good, my only problem was with how hot it was inside

No food was received I rang restaurant spoke to a lady regarding order to check the address my details were taken address and phone number the order has been dumped by Uber 7 miles away I have raised dispute with my bank 2 hours later no food and £18.00 out my account uber has now returned 1 an 1/2 hours later retrieved the food on the phone call she did remember to wrap my marvellous Yorkshire separate 🤣omg disgusting

Another faultless and enjoyable meal out at Willow Farm. Despite it being peak time on a Saturday. All the staff were at the top of their game and genuinely happy smile on their face. Food never fails to impress with ample portions for a reasonable price. Arriving promptly 25mins after ordering.. Using the app to order from the table is a game changer as well. 10/10

Visited on a Sunday around 5.45pm. Very busy but managed to get a table as a walk in. Used the app to order food and drinks. Drinks came very quickly. Food was great.

Might just have been my visit but food was not great posties looked like they were thrice roasted. However meat was nice. Some of our party had cold chips

Unexpectedly stopped here for lunch today. Friendly from entrance, very busy, we hadnt booked but were still acommodated with no sighs or issues. All staff from bar, to food service, to waitressing never appeared flustered even when having to manouver between the queuing, it went down quick due to good organisation/management. Food was constantly replenished hot and fresh tables and cutlery were clean and gravy and sauces plentiful. Even the kitchen staff didnt look stressed and shouty when replenishing. Most impressed.

Food was how I asked, only veg I wanted was potatoes and carrots, which is great. I also asked for stuffing and boy did I get stuffing, in fact I got more stuffing than mash. Please tell your staff for future reference that, that much stuffing was far far too much it absolutely covered my whole dinner. Once I plated up and scraped off a ton of stuffing it was lovely, but I would have rather had more carrots or potatoes than a plate full of stuffing. The rest of the food was delicious as ever

Had a takeaway carvery delivered today. Food was nice, meat was good. No fluffy Yorkshire pudding was delivered and it could have done with being a little warmer. It was but not for the price

Lovely carvery staff are very obliging had the special offer a carvery and cake for £10. Which was really good value

Had a delivery today ,should have been 2 meals and only received one.Could not contact restaurant so contacted just Eat.The veg in the one received were hard and not worth the money.

This is more of an observation than a criticism, as the server on the carvery was on his own (again) and repeatedly had to stop serving to refresh the veg dishes, causing a queue to build up, A second member of staff during these busy periods would be a big help.

Firstly waited over 20 minutes at the podium to be seen. The girl on the podium was not only here but clearing tables, cleaning the same, putting out cutlery basically doing numerous jobs. Got to our table then timed how long to be served with only 1 on the bar. Sad but 25mins 37sec. Observed kitchen staff serving but walking past dirty tables even though heading back to the kitchen. Asked for our food to be served same time as our child's meal that didn't happen either then had to hunt for mayo. Omg sack the manager give the poor girl on the podium a medal and get someone in to sort the headless chickens. Neil

Takes too long to get to the carvery

Been here a few times, on a Sunday it gets absolutely rammed, the carvery is so popular. Decent range of choice, but not enough staff working on the carvery or the bar. The Q's are crazy which makes it seem unorganised. Avoid going between 12.30-3 or be prepared to wait a long time. Staff seem over stretched & it proves it by the amount of people waiting!! Food really nice, just a shame about the sheer volume of people.

Good and plentiful food with "order from your table" app and rapid service. Later drinks service not so good, possibly linked to the restaurant being virtually empty well before closing time. Would happily eat there again but perhaps aim for earlier in the evening.

Can live with something being a bit late but to add to the “over an hour” we tried calling the restaurant 11 times and SOMEONE PICKED UP RECEIVER AND IMMEDIATELY HUNG UP ON EVERY OCCASION.

We came for a family dinner after we went for a baby scan reviele and the staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was spot on very friendly place will be coming again deffo carvery next for us 😀

Very busy, but staff pushed a couple tables together to accommodate our large party. All staff were thoroughly professional at all times, the carvery was outstanding (as always) and the overall atmosphere was lovely.

Good was absolutely freezing and had to be reheated in microwave watched courier on map and they most certainly took the longest possible way to arrive

Orderd 2 2 meat carvery’s one portion arrived no second choice of meat all piled into one plate assuming as no refund granted it was 2 very poor portions. Also very cold and only 1 Yorkshire. Will not be ordering again

Food absolutely rubbish, a little salad on the plate would have made it more attractive, but scampi n chips n peas all rotten, value 0 sorry, scampi scraps, cheapest frozen chips I've ever had, value for money, not worth nothing 😬,will never return yak.

We haven't been to Willow Farm for over 3 years, but after hearing they had updated their play area, we decided to come back for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was very busy and the family area was pretty much full when we arrived, but we had booked our table in advance so got seated straight away. It was the end of the lunch time rush so it slowly got quieter during our meal. The service was decent given how busy it was and the food was just as good as we remembered it being in the past. The new play area has been massively upgraded and is so much better than it used to be. There is 3 different areas, one for babies under 2, an area for 3 to 8 year olds, and a little arcade (so bring some change!) Our 5 year old and 2.5 year old children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and can't wait to come back again in the future.

not a good dinner at all very dry won't be getting it again

There was only 1 person serving on the bar. I waited 25 mixtures to get some drinks as my table was not ready. I then stood again for 20 minutes to order my food and again just 1 on the bar. I then had to wait again to get some ice cream. The childrens food was disgusting and the waitress spilt the majority on the floor. I didn't get a table in the children's area and they had a Christmas lunch table of 20 right next our table that my 2 daughters could not get in and out of their seats

We come in I hadn’t seen my family for 12 years since my mam and dad past and chose this place as it was close to we’re all my family live and plenty parking the food was average the service was dreadful waited 20 minute to be sat and my brother is disabled and the desert we order we kept getitnb the wronb one and of of them was sour the cream had split

I was with my Mam, we had not booked but even though it was very busy we were found a table. After ordering our food we realised that we had to leave, I asked one of the female members of staff if we could either cancel the order or take our food away, she appeared disinterested and walked away to serve another customer! however another member of staff asked if he could help and saved the day by sorting our food himself for us to take away, unfortunately I did not get his name but we were very grateful that he sorted it for us. Thank you again

No tartar sauce with the fish, wish you could have option for no peas cos I’m throwing those nasty things away.

Nice place for a meal good food and friendly staff

I booked online as it was for my grandsons 5th birthday, I got a reply to say that someone would get back within 24 hours, a few hours before the time we were due to go I tried phoning about 6 or 7 times but no one was answering the call, we just turned up, and no the booking was not there, we did eventually manage to get a table but not all together, very disappointed, but the food was very nice

Good cheerful venue with soft play for the smaller kids

Fantastic - as a group of 8 everyone from young to old said they really enjoyed their meal and daughter enjoyed the playarea as well. Staff were friendly and welcoming and we all agreed would definitely be back!! Thanks so much for providing us with a lovely Boxing Day meal as last few years have been let down by other venues and all so happy with Willow Farm said will return again for our special family meal next year altogether. But also as smaller family group before then!!

Very disappointing visit unfortunately went for food yesterday and it really wasn't nice at all we got 2 carverys (small basically a kids plate) 2 kids meals and 1 steak the food tasted cheap the Yorkshire puddings were either nothing or something so crispy, the gravy was so thick and overall it didn't taste nice at all then after that we then had to send the steak back as it was under cooked (we asked for medium to well done it came out practically alive) which we had to wait a further 25 minutes for it to be cooked properly. Not a very good experience at all.

Apple crumble had no apples in it, I kept having another bite expecting there to be a slice or chunk of apple in there but none, it was all just crumble

Today we visited for our Christmas lunch for the second year running. As usual, everything was top notch. Couldn't fault our experience and are already planning on going back in the new year to book for next year's Christmas lunch. Fantastic new play area for the kids as well after being recently refurbished. So much better than it was previously and I would argue that it's a much safer and stimulating environment for kids of all ages. A special shout out to the management team who were fantastic, even when another customer took ill and required medical attention from paramedics and a trip to hospital they were on hand to assist and support those involved. Our sincere well wishes and sympathy to the poor lady who took ill and wish her a speedy recovery from the Henderson household.

Booked for Christmas Day , was told no queue.. disgusting having to stand for nearly hour for Christmas lunch

although when it arrived it was cold once heated up was delicious as always.

Nathan and Michael helped me to resolve a mistake I have with my order. It was totally my fault and they didn't need to go out of their way to correct it for me. Couldn't fault their service skills - total gents! The portion was massive and the carvery was a delicious as it always is.

Absolutely loved it. Went for my granny in laws birthday and it was absolutely amazing. Food was cooked very well

Annual Christmas meal with the family, 6 adults & a child, slow service 30 mins to ask if we were ready for our starter.Told the mains were almost ready so the 3 having carverys got there's, we'd almost finished so my husband went to ask where there's were. No one asked if our meals were ok which luckily they were apart from the childs very disappointing. We visit Willow farm on a regular basis and felt rather let down with this experience especially when we were treating the family to a Christmas getogether.

Excellent as always, very accommodating, booked for 1900, got there early and was able to still be served.

It was my first time there and it definitely won't be my last. Food was absolutely lovely. Portions massive. Very affordable. The staff are lovely and the place itself is very nice.

Food was ok, but unfortunately the children’s area was so unnecessarily hot we could barely finish our meal for almost passing out with the heat. Considering this has a large play area for the children, you would think it was be a cooler area so that the little ones playing didn’t overheat or worse while running around. There were kids literally beetroot red, sweat pouring, half naked just to try and cool off. The room was so humid due to the amount of people and lack of air. There was no available windows to crack open as non had to option of doing so. So I wouldn’t really recommend the children’s area for a meal as it just made eating our food quite un-enjoyable sadly.

Driver couldn't find my address, he rang me and I told him exactly were I was ,when he delivered my meal it was stone cold ,I had to put my dinner in my oven to heat it up . So Im not happy

Bit disappointed, booked breakfast with santa for Sunday 15th Dec. Recieved email (thank you for your booking) we look forward to seeing you) I have just rang to confirm this as there was no deposit taken to be advised that my booking was rejected, without advising me this info via email. I'm just glad I rang up and didn't turn up as I already have a disappointed little boy as it is. This was booked on 13th November so I am very upset about this.

Great play area for young children, quick food service, friendly staff. Will definitely come back again.

Sunday carvery was lovely as always

Nice and clean, food is decent but staff presume you know how ordering works, showed us to our table and left without stating we needed to order at the bar, ordered and then went to get our food and were told if we wanted a vegetarian option for the roast we had to state that when we ordered (as if we had a crystal ball?) New play area would be nice but isn't staffed and parents for the most part aren't supervising children. I wouldn't expect a staff member to be there however I do think a parent should have to supervise considering older children were in the under two section and one child knocked a tower of blocks over my baby. Won't be returning

Fantastic service, great food and atmosphere. Our server was a young lady called Casey, who was very kind and inviting to us. The food was delicious and outstanding, would definitely recommend to friends and family!

I took my 3 grandchildren for an after school meal, mainly for the 5 year old to try out the updated play area which she loved. The place was quite full and many tables were free but they hadn't been cleared and cleaned. I eventually found a "clean" table near the soft play but found that the table surface was sticky and some of the laminated menus as well as listing the food also had samples stuck to them!!! We all ordered the carvery via the app (2 standard and 2 Junior carverys) together with drinks. Drinks came in 20 minutes which was reasonable but the server only had the tickets for the Standard carvery. When I asked where the Junior tickets were and showed him a copy of the order he said I should go to the bar to sort it out. Looking at the queue at the bar I declined his kind offer and he said just go to the buffet area explain that the Junior tickets were missing and the carver would probably just give you the food (which he did). The food on the carvery was good rather than excellent, the meat portion was quite small, the cauliflour cheese wasn't very cheesy and once they were filled it was difficult to get the plates back to the table once the gravy was on without spilling some (the restaurant's other branch beside the airport provides small jugs to take the gravy back to the table). When the server came to clear the plates I asked her if she could bring the children's ice creams I had ordered, she said you have to go to the bar to get it!! Again looking at the bar queue I decided it wasn't worth the effort and left. Summary: Food just ok nothing special but reasonable value for money, cleanliness wasn't the best and service was very poor.

We pre booked for Sunday carvery for 4 people but ended up amending our booking to 5 when we arrived they were very accommodating especially with it being full.we were served by a lovely lady called Erin nothing was a trouble,

Thank you to Casey, Sharon and Alice who were lovely and friendly. Nothing seemed a problem and are an asset to the company. I came up from the south to visit with my 2 friends and the food was also lovely.

Cracking carvery. Been a few times and the only disappointment is the bullet hard sprouts (every time)

First time I've ordered and it won't be the last. I'm not a big veggie person so I put instructions on what veg to put in my box and they followed it through to perfection. lots of food in fact too much. Totally recommend

Absolutely gorgeous food! First time ordering from here. Ordered the veggie carvery which comes packed full with a really nice gravy too! The pie was lovely, no issues. Ordered from Toby etc before and didn’t get half the veg options and not even close standards wise. Thanks! Will be back!

Ordered Mac cheese and chips. No chips, told you didn't order them. Mac cheese not hot. Staff member came from back to serve and I presume was smoking outside as the cigarette smell was overwhelming Used to be 5*

Absolutely gorgeous vegetarian carvery delivered with a delicious cake for pudding, only thing was not very hot but that was easily sorted! Portion sizes were excellent!!
