Willow Farm - Dining & Carvery in Northumberland

Fantastic service, great food and atmosphere. Our server was a young lady called Casey, who was very kind and inviting to us. The food was delicious and outstanding, would definitely recommend to friends and family!

I took my 3 grandchildren for an after school meal, mainly for the 5 year old to try out the updated play area which she loved. The place was quite full and many tables were free but they hadn't been cleared and cleaned. I eventually found a "clean" table near the soft play but found that the table surface was sticky and some of the laminated menus as well as listing the food also had samples stuck to them!!! We all ordered the carvery via the app (2 standard and 2 Junior carverys) together with drinks. Drinks came in 20 minutes which was reasonable but the server only had the tickets for the Standard carvery. When I asked where the Junior tickets were and showed him a copy of the order he said I should go to the bar to sort it out. Looking at the queue at the bar I declined his kind offer and he said just go to the buffet area explain that the Junior tickets were missing and the carver would probably just give you the food (which he did). The food on the carvery was good rather than excellent, the meat portion was quite small, the cauliflour cheese wasn't very cheesy and once they were filled it was difficult to get the plates back to the table once the gravy was on without spilling some (the restaurant's other branch beside the airport provides small jugs to take the gravy back to the table). When the server came to clear the plates I asked her if she could bring the children's ice creams I had ordered, she said you have to go to the bar to get it!! Again looking at the bar queue I decided it wasn't worth the effort and left. Summary: Food just ok nothing special but reasonable value for money, cleanliness wasn't the best and service was very poor.

We pre booked for Sunday carvery for 4 people but ended up amending our booking to 5 when we arrived they were very accommodating especially with it being full.we were served by a lovely lady called Erin nothing was a trouble,

Thank you to Casey, Sharon and Alice who were lovely and friendly. Nothing seemed a problem and are an asset to the company. I came up from the south to visit with my 2 friends and the food was also lovely.

Can’t fault the driver or delivery time, didn’t receive extra Yorkshire or pigs in blankets that I paid for. All other food was lovely

food was freezing l was hoping they sorted it out its not first time this has happened i won't be going back shame as food used be unreal . 1st time I let ot go with it being cold but second time now it's happened now so am 100% not be getting delivery again from here

Cracking carvery. Been a few times and the only disappointment is the bullet hard sprouts (every time)

Nice stop off and I really enjoyed the carvery... it was a quite little spot and I got my car charged In the car park

First time I've ordered and it won't be the last. I'm not a big veggie person so I put instructions on what veg to put in my box and they followed it through to perfection. lots of food in fact too much. Totally recommend

Absolutely gorgeous food! First time ordering from here. Ordered the veggie carvery which comes packed full with a really nice gravy too! The pie was lovely, no issues. Ordered from Toby etc before and didn’t get half the veg options and not even close standards wise. Thanks! Will be back!

Ordered Mac cheese and chips. No chips, told you didn't order them. Mac cheese not hot. Staff member came from back to serve and I presume was smoking outside as the cigarette smell was overwhelming Used to be 5*

Absolutely gorgeous vegetarian carvery delivered with a delicious cake for pudding, only thing was not very hot but that was easily sorted! Portion sizes were excellent!!

Lovely pub great atmosphere welcoming staff who made us feel so happy enjoyed a lovely meal with great surroundings helpful staff made it all worthwhile definitely worth a visit 😁

Food freezing cold and Potatoes were solid. Threw most of it away. Paid £30 through Just Eat so total rip off. Whoever the Chef was today needs sacked

Have not been for over a year due to bad experience last time, but new General Manager (Nathan) and change of staff has made all the difference to the place, its a nice friendly atmosphere and staff are more than willing to help you, its nice to see Karen back, nice smilling face and couldnt be more helpfull, due to the changes we will be back. It's been a while since I've been here but steak pie was delicious, a full pie with pastry top and bottom

We come here quite often for lunch and have always been happy with the food especially the burgers , unfortunately today that changed, we thought that we would try the new Yorkshire pudding carvery wrap with roasties, the Yorkshire pudding was so tough that I could hardly cut it and the roast potatoes were the same very dry and hard on the outside and very salty . Definitely not worth £7.99. Needless to say I won't be having that again. Sorry.

The last few times I’ve ordered from here have been a bad experience with items missing from my order and left out of pocket. Unless they change the delivery drivers won’t be ordering from here again.

A great choice to take Mam out weekly as she likes a carvery as does my husband. Can always find something else for me. Lovely menu from beginning to end, also very reasonably priced. Staff all very obliging, can't do enough for you. We come from Washington, call in at Benton to come straight here. Definitely worth a visit as Mam paid for our Xmas prezzie - Turkey and Tinsel for 3.

A handy place to go for a carvery. However the chef that cuts the meat has some serious skills, I've never been able to cut it so thin. I'm personally not so keen on most of the veg, but my husband and daughter like it. The queues can be very long and at times I've been there, certainly looked like a couple of extra staff would have been helpful. It's a place I would go too if I couldn't get booked anywhere and wanted a Sunday Carvery.

food wasnt the warmest got sent beef and turkey when i asked for gammon and beef and dessert was wrong asked for vanilla slice sent giant eclair . as for veg i got like a million sprouts and hardly anything else . ive had much better from this place

Cheap and cheerful but still good quality food!

Small portion, parsnip not cooked and roast potatoes from a different day/ stale. Not good and not worth the money.

Piss poor dining experience. The place is absolutely minging, dirty filthy carpets, chairs at dining tables worn out and in need of replacement. Tables are disgusting, not well cleaned. Cutlery is dirty and needs a damn good clean, appeared wiped rather than washed. The food is terrible. Even though you get large portions and can help yourself to veg etc, the quality is sub standard. I wouldn’t advise dining here to anyone. I couldn’t give a zero star rating or I would have.

Food was stone cold, items were missing and when asked the driver about it I was told to call the restaurant which I did 17 times.. No answer place is diabolical food was also tasteless as well as stone cold AVOID!!!!

Food came was cold and hard didn't want to say anything at the time but now we have getting bad stomachs and vomiting only thing we had so only thing can be gutted never had a problem before

Quite possibly the worst steak I’ve ever had the misfortune of encountering. I ordered an 8oz Sirloin, medium rare—what arrived looked like a charred relic from the depths of a BBQ disaster. It tasted just as one would imagine... like a piece of coal. The only thing that wasn’t incinerated on my plate were the chips, and I clung to those as the only source of salvation in an otherwise tragic meal. I get that it’s busy with the carvery, but since that’s basically a DIY affair, I’m struggling to understand what went so terribly wrong. This place is usually great, but calling this experience 'disappointing' feels like an understatement of the century.

Had a nice meal here when visiting family, lots of choice and beautiful cakes.

We were visiting Bamburgh castle and decided to stay over before a 5hr drive back home. Once we had booked in to our accommodation we booked a meal for 3 at the Willow Farm pub. It turned out to be a good choice as the location was good, the food was great and the staff were polite and efficient. Great experience.

Service was perfect and fast. Jemma was very attentive and very helpful and made sure our party was looked after. Best portions carvery and comfortable environment. It even has a salad bar with cheese and everything. Perfect. Big thanks to Jemma for her help. We had nine people in our party and she made the visit easier and made sure we were looked after.

Nice Farmhouse Inn. Busy but organised. Team behind the bar efficient and friendly. Only downside (not just this Farmhouse inn) is when someone orders carvery and someone orders from menu, you always have to chase the menu main course as its sat under a hot plate out the back (which is not great when it has coleslaw on it!) Apart from that all good.

Have attended many greene kings but this was my first for willow farm. I had a warm welcome by a bald male waiter. I ordered the all day english breakfast and I was quite dissapointed. The toast was rock solid, bacon burnt and hash browns seemed mushy inside. My mams fish and chips were nice. Might of just been the breakfast that wasn't nice. Edit 7/9/24 Have returned against since and again food was not nice, will not be coming again unfortunately.

The food was lovely and the service was good. The tables are a bit too close together for my liking but overall it was enjoyable. I will definately go to the Sunday carvery again.

time changed 3 times for delivery... cauliflower was not cooked and more sprouts than anything else... has been better on previous occasions but not sure we will return again..

My family and I had a catch up on Sunday afternoon we all really enjoyed our meal 😋. I had the carvery and it was delicious 😋. Would highly recommend.

Highly recommend, I love a carvey and by far Willow Farms is the best from variety of vegetables and quality too. Meat is great portion as well. Visited other restaurants of this company and by far always great food and pleasant staff.

Poor food and not enough staff on bar.

Arrived at willow farm this evening and awaited 10 minutes for a table, ended up finding our own, ordered online food arrived promptly despite it being rather busy, after finishing our meals no one had came to clear the plates we have been sat for 40 minutes, tables around us also have dirty plates and cups, food on tables ect. Rather let down by todays visit

food was lovely. but using the app is a bad idea. waited over 20 mins for drinks and ordered a sweet that took over 30 mins, when we asked about it we where told the order hadn't gone through. Much better this time service much faster service and seemed better organised generally.

It was the worst I mean the worst! food I have ever had in my life the mash potato were like they had been cooked in the dish washer, they tasted like dish water the roast spuds were burnt straight through was like a layer of tar on the top, The meat was none existent on the plate.. For the price of this dish it definitely.. Was not a bang for your buck $$$ avoid at all cost guys 🙄🙄

Delivery time was prompt delivery driver was lovely, although food was so cold on arrival it looks as thought it was just chucked together with no thought in it at all just chucked in a cardboard container and delivered. There was a tiny bit of gravy in the tubs also so wasn’t even enough to put over. First time ordering from here and I think it may be the last.

meal was terrible. 3 slices of carrot, 4 green beans and 2 withered bits of parsnip. Hardly any meat and the rest of the meal was made up with potato trying to make it look as if there was a decent amount of food. Everything was also freezing cold.

Food was dreadful, I got mixed grill, seemed like food was being kept warm them served as needed £16.49, arrived warm, i coudnt even eat the steak, the chicken breast was dry, the gammon was ok, the sausage was terrible, the chips were dreadful! my husband got 9oz rib eye asked for medium rare it arrived well done! Never go back . We sat next to a couple who had chosen the carvery option....they left most of their food as said it was terrible .

Good food, quick service. Clean restaurant even though it’s so busy. The carvery was busy but moved quickly and no issues.
