This bakery has changed hands and it is nice for the village that it didn't close. The shop looks very smart and the range of products are different. We were buying cakes & pasties for lunch for 7 people, so tooka little time choosing Hiwever the lady with the grey hair who served us wasn't very friendly, when we asked about a particular cake she said " I don't know I don't eat them'" A younger lady woth dark hair was bringing our some more cakes, she smiled & said Good morning and spoke about the cakes she had bought out - a credit to the shop.

This is very much a good old fashioned bakery, not a restaurant. Serves a variety of freshly baked breads, cakes, buns, pastries and sandwiches. You can reserve items in advance via a simple phone call. I always visit when staying in the area and would use regularly if I lived in Wool or nearby.

So I created this premises on TripAdvisor having visited here multiple times during a family holiday in Dorset because it wasn't previously on here and thought it deserved to be The premises is situated in the village of Wool which is an ideal base for sightseeing around the locality The bakers itself is a proper old school bakery. No jazzy signs. No fancy decor. You could drive past it and barely not notice the place as it still has a sign which looks like it has been up for decades. Inside is much the same- old style wood decor, but it just adds to the character of the place The big draw (and why we kept going back as a family) was the quality of the food. Absolutely delicious. Throughout the course of the week we sampled: Fresh bread- delicious. Multiple varieties available Cakes- Amazing iced donuts, cinnamon buns, Belgian buns, fruit buns. There were so many more cakes on offer, all of which were home made and huge Fresh rolls/sandwiches- they also offer a filled rolls service. Chicken, bacon, tuna, salad etc etc. All served on a choice of their homemade bread/rolls etc Hot and cold pastries- sausage rolls etc Pricing was more than fair for what you get. Today we had the following for around 20 pounds 2 baguettes filled with chicken and bacon mayo Ham and cheese cob Chicken salad cob 5 various cakes 2 sausage rolls Staff have always been super friendly and we've thoroughly enjoyed supporting a local business whilst on our holiday. If this was local to us we'd use it all the time. Really fantastic little no frills place

Went to one of Christian’s tasting Tuesdays with my sister and didn’t know what to expect. He was testing a new menu and it did not disappoint! Fantastic quality of food paired with great conversation. A really special experience and would highly recommend to anybody with a love for food.

Finally.. somewhere in Swanage with real taste! The Sandwich Shed is a hidden gem. Run by a lovely couple who have crafted a small and delicious menu, made up of gourmet sandwiches. All on homemade focaccia, my favourite was the BBQ beef brisket served with sauerkraut, smoked cheese, crispy onions and homemade black garlic sauce. Accompanied by some freshly cooked skinny fries and smoky “shed” slaw and a drink from the pub in which the SS is situated, there is nothing to fault. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys home cooked, quirky food.

We had looked at the reviews & saw they were extremely good so we was really looking forward to a lovely breakfast, we live in Dorchester so it was a little bit of a drive, but we thought we would see what everyone was saying great things about this hidden gem. (But as soon as we arrived before 11am we was looking at the breakfast menu & about to sit down when the woman who was serving at the till overheard what we was saying about our breakfast order & she immediately said breakfast is finished, no sorry or anything, extremely rude & sharp. So we left never to return again.

arrived here looking to order a pizza, 3 guys behind the counter just chatting amongst themselves, completely ignoring me for 10 mins and then finally took my order, said it would be a certain time, it took even longer and when it did arrive it was very average, do yourself a favour and go the Square and Compass for Pizza, they are much better and the staff are nice.
