Can I just give a massive shout out and thanks to Wilfreds - my famly and I went to Wilfreds Canteen last night to celebrate my birthday - not only is the venue fabulous and beautiful - the staff were just brilliant and the food - my goodness every morsel was the best food we have ever tasted! Right from a starter of bacon and cheese in filo pastry to a main of chicken and ham pie with the best potato dauphinoise and then a peach crumble and a sherry trifle just for my Dad - it was truly incredible with very generous portions - just brilliant and very special ! So if you are looking for a fab venue for a special occasion with your family and friends - it really has to be there ! Congratualtions Chris and all you team xx

A beautiful building where you can see into the kitchen and watch the cooked to order food being prepared for you by the Chef and Host Jack. He is absolutely excellent. We were not expecting the food to be this good as well as being excellent value for money. Try the beef shin ragu.

What an excellent meal we had and how well looked after we were! We had booked for 7.30 pm but we found we had to leave Richmond early to head home so arrived at 5.30. Jack, mine host and chef made us very welcome and served us chilled Sancerre in the little courtyard in the sunshine so we could chat or read our books while he prepared pasta and a beef ragu sauce which was superb. My husband had one glass of a delicious Rioja because was driving but we took the bottle home and indulged ourselves the next night. We finished with a very tasty light dessert. The bistro itself is a charming building, very artistically designed and felt very comfortable. Jack was so friendly and made us so welcome. It's a small menu, but Jack said he prefers to keep it simple and perfect, which it was. We told some friends about it who visited last week and they were very grateful for the recommendation and were delighted with it as well. I did mention to Jack, that I thought the name, "Wilfred's Canteen" did the venue and food a disservice as it suggested a downmarket cafe, which it certainly is not. It was our good luck that we read some reviews and decided to try it, but it deserves a better title. We are visiting Richmond again in August and have, of course, booked dinner here again.

Great match day pub just off the main drag! This pub is a bit tucked away from the main Twickenham High Street, which makes it a real find—especially on rugby match days. It gets busy, but the vibe is great and it’s a top spot for meeting up with a group. The large parking area is a real bonus, making it easy to gather pre- or post-match without battling the usual High Street crowds. There’s an outdoor bar area that really helps keep the drinks flowing when it’s packed, so service stays pretty quick even when it’s busy. Just a heads-up: the toilets are down a fairly steep set of stairs at the back, so that’s worth bearing in mind if accessibility is a concern. Ideal for a more laid-back pre-match pint!
