Wildwood Restaurant in Crawley

We came with friends in March, a large booking of 15 for a meal. We arrived promptly at 7.30 but our food didn’t come out until just after 9pm. Whilst I appreciate we were a large group, 9pm isn’t satisfactory. The waiter was lovely and clearly the issue wasn’t with him but I question why they take large bookings if you can’t accommodate a reasonable time frame for serving large parties. If I’m honest I won’t recommend or return. I wanted to feedback as clearly this is something the restaurant needs to review and improve on

Staying in the area pre flight from Gatwick, so hopefully that makes this review even more compelling. Fantastic meal, service and ambience. Kids meals fantastic value for money, with good sized portions (and interesting choices - never seen a Calzone on a kids menu before!) Our eldest child was adamant he wanted the ribs (main menu) and he was definitely not disappointed. Prawn and courgette risotto was delicious. (If I had one complaint it would be only 5 decent sized prawns), and my wife enjoyed the Piri chicken pasta. Service was great throughout, and the house white wine was a great accompaniment. Kids enjoyed the ice cream that was part of their meal deal too (even if a little disappointed that they had run out of chocolate brownie!) Would recommend to anyone local who can enjoy this place more regularly than we can!

Good food and great service. However, the managers treatment to his staff was shockingly poor. Our table overheard him speaking to some of the employees in a very demeaning way with no manners whatsoever. Those employees were nothing but attentive and kind to our party. Managers like this should be investigated and it left our table wondering if it’s worth returning. The food was good but quite pricey for the quality and quantity. Overall, the experience was average but bought down to two stars due to the rude and unapproachable manager.

We were 5 days in Crawley and after the first dinner at Wildwood we opted to try it out again much to our delight. The service is amazing and very personal. The food is outstanding and there are so many great options like the steak, the pork ribs, the pizza and so on. Everything is cooked to perfection and a total joy to everyone´s mouth. Try this restaurant and you will become a believer.

We visited Wildwood for our daughters 18th birthday celebration with all the family. We were a group of 24 and we used the private dining room. Amazing service from booking until departure. Andy and Sylvie worked hard to ensure that all our needs were catered for. Special mention to Sam who was our waiter. Attentive and brilliant service skills for such a young man. One small piece of feedback would be that there is very limited options as a vegan. However I enjoyed the vegan lasagne which was super tasty. I can't wait to come back. Thank you so much for making my daughters birthday a special one.

I am deeply unsatisfied with my recent visit to Wildwood restaurant in Crawley. We were waiting for nearly 30 minutes for our drinks and the pizzas we had ordered came burnt and with just few pieces of toppings despite its price of £14-£15. When we expressed our concerns to a member of staff we were told he had done us a favour by having found us a table to sit, however the restaurant was half empty! We had been visiting the restaurant quite often before this visit but now will be avoiding it.

Staying at Gatwick before our holiday and got a bus into town and found this place and what a choice we made. Amazing pizzas, lasagna, chicken burgers, spaghetti bolognaise and fries. Really was one of the best pizzas (Philly steak pizza) I’ve ever had. 2 young grandkids had a 2 course deal which was amazing especially they’re chocolate brownie. Our server was Sylvia was really good and deserves a big shout out.

BRILLIANT.... slight hiccup at the end but all sorted (there were 16 of us) A double retirement ...... in the side room. Our waitress was lovely.....very patient. The food was lovely. Cannot wait to.return. Bringing hubby for Father's Day.

Food was fine but painfully slow and disorganised service. Staff were very busy but no one seemed to bi in charge to make sure customers were bein served. We arrived at booked time but table was not ready, it took 20 minutes to ask for our order, a further hour for food to arrive. We had to ask for table to be cleared and for desert menu followed by more delays. Overall it took 3 hours and at no point did anyone acknowledge or apologise for the delay.

The restaurant was really well presented and the food was excellent. As an Italian I'm very sceptic when it comes about restaurants as I well know what a good Italian dish tastes like. I was really impressed with my penne alla Norma cooked al dente and very tasty. The atmosphere was great and the service was really good. The facilities were also really clean .

We visited Wildwood for a family meal for a group of 20 over the Christmas week. It was quite a complicated booking and Andy and the team were always helpful and accommodating for any special requests for dietary needs. As part of the visit all of the food came out at the same time and all the orders were spot on. Andy and the team kept popping by to check if any more drinks were needed and to check things were ok. We did have a while to wait for the desserts as the restaurant got busier and because we were such a big group, but all in all I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food and drinks were all delicious and it was a lovely setting.

We made a very last minute booking for 6 people as the restaurant we were meant to meet at cancelled due to a water pipe damage. Wildwood managed to fit us in, on what appeared to be a busy evening for them. The food was amazing, between us we tried the duck, herb chicken, calzone and cheese burgers. All of us were very impressed with the food. We weren’t waiting long for it to come, it all arrived together piping hot and fresh. My chicken was cooked perfectly. We then ordered deserts which too were very tasty. Custard portions were very small but we asked for more and they gave us more so it wasn’t an issue. We were checked on and offered drink top ups an appropriate amount of times but left to it the rest so service was spot on too. We all collectively get together multiple times a year and have already said we’d come back to wildwood again. Thank you for allowing our Christmas meet to go ahead and providing some very tasty food and great service.

If you want an amazing food, great service, great wine and very good price then Wildwood is the restaurant for you. We tried pasta, and steaks and even the Philly cheese steak and everything was outstanding. This was out last night in Crawley and totally worth it to close the trip on this high note. It is so amazing to fine a gem like this and I could go to this restaurant again and again and still feel like the first time. I would order the table in advance We will be back for sure next year as there are so many more dishes to try out.

Arrived for a 7:30PM booking on time. The restaurant was half full. Ordered within 10 mins of arrival. Had a glass of wine, 1 hour later one of the managers returned to our table to apologise for the delay in the arrival of our two pizzas. We could not wait any longer and had to leave. Very disappointing.

We dined here yesterday evening and even though it was the middle of the week, the place was packed! We sat outside for cocktails and waited for the rest of our party to arrive. The cocktails are excellent and 2for1 all day everyday, bonus. They are the cheapest and best on the high street. The atmosphere was lovely and the waitress was friendly and attentive. When our friends arrived we asked to be moved indoors as it was a bit chilly outside. No problem at all. We all had starters, prawns, calamari, olives and focaccia. Delicious! My friends who had never been here were amazed and declared they would be back. Andy the manager was our server, chatty and funny nothing was too much trouble. For mains we had classic Bolognese, and two pizzas. My husband had the Philly steak pizza and my friend had the courgette and goats cheese. They both said it was crispy and perfectly cooked. Myself and friend’s hubby had the pasta, gorgeous and well balanced. I drizzled some chilli oil and Parmesan on top. Superb. My husband and I are never disappointed when we come here. Food is ALWAYS good and service makes it even better. We recommend the Long Island 🏝 ice tea and the mojito. Oh and you don’t need to order the same cocktail for the 2for1 option… cheers 🥂

Went here a few weeks back and had a great experience. We booked ahead and was busy at that time so good job we did. Was served quickly and when you had finished your drink there was always someone about to grab another. Cocktails were amazing, great selection. Loved the bubblegum and candyfloss one. Took the 3 children out for a treat and they absolutely loved it! Great service , excellent quality food off both the main and children's menu. I cannot praise the restaurant enough, the staff were great and without doubt this is the best place to eat in the whole town! Ate here on an eat out discount day,five of us dined, lovely big booth table,calzone was the best ever,my son also had kids calzone and enjoyed every mouthful! From the friendly, welcoming Manager to the lovely staff , couldn’t fault them ! The food was well cooked and reasonably priced . We were close to the kitchen and we watched every single staff member sanitise their hands before they picked up every plate ! Didn’t bother our party , including my 80 year old parents , so over Covid !! But if it is important to you and makes you feel safe then I thoroughly recommend Wildwood .

My first meal out since lockdown and of course it had to be wildwood.I felt very safe , all staff wearing face masks , although limited staff the service was still great. Was seated spaced apart from others which is usually the case anyway as the restaurant is quite big so it didn't feel too restricted.Great as always , Andy and the team making sure we're enjoying ourselves.

This was the first chance for my wife and I to have a lunchtime meal in a restaurant since March. So we decided to go to Wildwood in Crawley where we were met with a smile safely from behind a mask by Andy the manager. We knew that this restaurant was light and airy, but also the tables were spread further apart and alternate ones blocked off so customers were kept safely apart. Andy told us numbers were limited so we felt comfortable at all times.The meals are still at their usual quality and generous portions and served by masked staff. My wife and I had a great meal and will return in a few weeks.

We stayed in Crawley unexpectedly due to Coronavirus and last minute changes to our travel plans. We found Wildwood on Tripadvisor and booked online. I was very impressed with the vegan menu and ordered from that while my husband seemed very happy with the choice on the regular menu. It was a lovely meal and the proprietor was very friendly.

We were staying overnight before Flying Out and adjourning the hotel was the Wildwood. It had a reasonable menu choice with pleasant service. The food was typical Italian Choice but had a Good Pizza and Pasta dish served by good service and pleasant staff. The only downer was a child's birthday party who were noisy and echoed a bit, but the manager did apologize.

Always happy to visit, great food and drink, served by fabulous and hardworking team. Staff are very attentive even when busy. Mains were very tasty and a great selection, and the desert sticky toffee pudding was delicious. Will be visiting again soon, best place in Crawley.

We were staying in Crawley for one night and visited Wildwood for our evening meal. The restaurant was not busy but there were a few larger parties celebrating birthdays so not empty either. The serving staff were very good, quickly seating us and bringing menu's drinks, etc. The food was okay, nothing special but perfectly edible. The prices seemed high, we both had the piripiri chicken with fries, one small glass of one and one beer and it was over £40 with tip. Perhaps these are the prices in Crawley. The very good service offset the high prices.

I came to celebrate my '13th' birthday (leap year baby 1968) with Family and friends and could say that my whole experience from booking to paying our bill was really excellent! The staff were very friendly and attentive. My baby Grandson Alfie was flirting with the ladies and thoroughly enjoyed himself. I chose the Turkey dish for main which was delicious and had the arancini for starters which I would definitely have again, it was so tasty! All of our party had a great time and were very impressed. We had a brilliant meal out, the food was quick and yummy then we did the 50% offer on a Tuesday and got 2 courses and drinks for £15 each! So so impressed. We are now wanting to come here for our work Christmas Dinner!

The food was good with a selection to food to accommodate each member of the various age ranges. The pizza is huge, but still tasty whilst some of the deserts were perfect. There was some confusion for us around parking as one of our members read we could park at the hotel, but they threatened to fine anyone parking there when we tried to go through the hotel to the restaurant. I suspect the staff in the hotel were fed up with people doing what we were trying, but based on their attitude I would not stay at the attached hotel which I think is a Ramada but I would go back to eat at the restuarant.

Have visited other branches and enjoyed our experience. On this occasion, though, the food was quite underwhelming. Also, after both eating the arancini starter last night, my husband and youngest son are both having tunmy troubles today.

Fantastic family meal evening for my wife’s 40th Birthday. The food as always was outstanding. Several of us had steak and everyones was cooked exactly as requested and tasted out of this world. Staff were fantastic despite it being so busy. Excellent value for money. We’ll be back soon!

We hired the private function room for a family event, everything from calling to arrange the event to sending emails and calling the restaurant was great service, on the day the room was set up beautifully, we had full range of the function room, we were able to decorate how we wanted to, all food choices were available with no issues, we will definitely consider this restaurant again in the future..

Wildwood has always been the place we go for special occasions or for a catch up among friends. The food is amazing. I always have something from the grill and starters have always been between the tiger prawns or baked cheese. I cannot fault the service or the food. The atmosphere is great and it is good value for money. I highly recommend it.

My girlfriend and I often visit Wildwood in Crawley when eating out and never leave disappointed. The staff are always very friendly and attentive which makes for a nice atmosphere. There are plenty of options on the menu meaning you can return over and over without getting bored of the options. It is also conveniently located on the high street. We will be returning again soon and highly recommend the place.

My Daughter had her baby shower here in October, The manager Andy couldn’t have been more helpful in arranging the menu and private room for it the food he put on was excellent and the help we received from Sylvia to set up the room was first class I thoroughly recommend this venue for food and service from all staff *****

I would now think twice about revisiting this restaurant again. I ordered a turkey burger and was appalled when half way through eating it, the turkey was under cooked in parts. The waiting staff did her best to try and resolve it but got no apology from the kitchen and initially they didn't admit that the turkey was undercooked and it was the cranberry sauce!!!! I was lucky that I checked the meat otherwise I would be a risk of food poisoning.

Really good food! Good selection of vegan dishes. Very friendly and helpful staff. The ladies bathroom was really clean. Great with children.
