Absolutely horrible. I got carbonara and it was truly disgusting. I ve never in my life had a bad carbonata, i was shocked at how bad it is. The souce was horrible. The one in the picture is without meat because that s what i requested, but 3 other people at my table ordered it with meat and also said it was absolutely disgusting and impossible to eat. Someone else got pizza and it was ok. The staff was nice.

My finance and I dined at this restaurant recently and the overall experience was okay. The food was good, but the service was slow and the atmosphere was subdued. No excuse given the restaurant was fairly quiet.

We went on a quiet afternoon so the restaurant atmosphere was great. Toilets were also quite clean when I was there. Spaghetti carbonara was delicious. The chicken and chorizo calzone was not very good as it was very burnt on the underside (see attached pictures). Quite expensive lunch for a burnt calzone. Restaurant staff were friendly but they took one of our food orders wrongly. They mixed up the chicken & chorizo calzone with the risotto. By the time the calzone to arrived, I had already finished my carbonara. I would go there again for the carbonara but not the calzone. Also make sure the staff take your orders correctly.

We stumbled across this Italian restaurant after we had been punting and were on the lookout for some good food to warm up. We read the reviews whilst we were waiting for our food and we were a little apprehensive after seeing all the negativity, but we had no issues here at all and really enjoyed our lunch. The guy that seated us was on his own and was jack of all trades seating people, sorting drinks, taking orders, serving food, sorting payment. He did a great job keeping everything running smoothly as it gradually got busier. The menu includes grills, pasta, pizza and risotto and it is fairly priced, with the mains around £14-£23. There is also a separate lunch menu and there is a good choice of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. We both ordered the butternut squash and ginger soup and the chicken and mushroom penne pasta. The soup was nice, but definitely more ginger than butternut. We would also have liked some butter for the bread. The pasta was lovely, can't fault that. Decent portion size, hot, good amount of chicken and mushroom and suitably cheesy, which for me a pasta dish has to be. If I had one gripe I do not like it when restaurants add a service charge to the bill. I asked for it to be taken off, which he did without question. We would definitely return here. It was just what the doctor ordered to refuel and warm up. Good food in a nice location. We are glad we didn't read the reviews first, as we probably would have gone elsewhere.

Ordered food through Uber eats. Two pasta dishes and 3 pizzas. Pizzas were stone cold. Pastas looked like they had been microwaved. Tasted ok but hour later was violently ill. others said they were also feeling sick and we all ended up being sick all night. And I’ll the next day also. Absolutely disgusted reheated old food. Avoid like the plague.

Food and drink completely overpriced,one meal was sent back because it was cold,unaware if staff had any training. Meals eventually came but not at the same time. Pity I was unaware that you didn’t have to pay for the service charge until I got home and researched it. Will not be going back…..

Excellent place! The food was top noch. We had deliciuos pizzas (seemed like home made sourdough ), steak and some salads. Compliments to chefs. Restaurant staff was very attentive to details, very welcoming and friendly. Kids were looked after very well too (kids meals, colouring activities, water with squash etc). Specially want to compliment young waiting staff they were showing exceptional profesionalism.

My wife had ordered a vegetarian pizza and I then saw something move on the pizza which was a bright green caterpillar amongst the salad leaves. We were not charged for that pizza. I would not go to Wildwood again. The name says it all.

My friend and I thouroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Wildwoods today. I had a risotto dish with prawns and courgette and my friend had the seabass. The food was really good and the service of an extremely hight standard. I would definitely highly recommend this restaurant

If you have two years spare in your life visit this place! This is how long it takes them to bring the food. The gap between starters and main courses are like dog’s years , guess what it wasn’t even busy! Two tables couldn’t handle them! Waitress had to print receipts 3 times still gets them wrong, I was waving at her more than 3 occasions and never noticed us. Food wasn’t that special either.

I took a party of nine ,for a Family Celebration.we were frozen throughout,due to faulty door. Wrong food served to a few people. Some cold which had to be returned .so dissapointed

visited with family on Christmas Eve, I had ordered the full spare ribs and it was very dry, and the staff were not friendly at all, not even saying a Merry Christmas nor saying thank you and goodbye, disappointed Christmas dinner and I would not visit again and would not recommend

Did not appreciate service charge being automatically added to the bill. You don't get much food for the price. No sauce or ketchup supplied. Other than that a pleasant dining experience.

Food was fine, small portions and overpriced, but that was to be expected. Unfortunately when paying the young waiter struggled with some basic maths and wasn't capable of splitting the bill or simple addition even when the situation and numbers were clearly explained to him.

After waiting an unacceptable time to even order drinks eventually we ordered ... waited an unacceptable amount of time for our starters soup which arrived cold. waitress offerd to warm .... no we had had enough. refused this went to the counter to be greeted by a guy wearing his outdoor coat.... I offered to pay for our drinks as we were not prepared to wait any longer. he did have the decency to waiver the cost. The excuse for the lack of service was because they serving a large party..if we had been informed of this we probably would have gone elsewhere. it was evident there was a staff shortage but honestly this should not happen. Disappointed as we eat in the Nottingham regularly.

The food was cold (pasta) and tasted like it was reheated leftovers, some of the chips were cold others hot . I would never come back as i can make better food at home and not pay a fortune

Food generally was nothing special.... my seabas dish came and I could smell it before it came close to me. Tasting a bit (fortunately) confirmed my suspicions. It was nice, however, that the waiter replaced it right away without arguing.... The replacement dish (cod) was, again, nothing I would return for. I also ordered an espresso that didn't come after 10min and I had to leave... friends later said it arrived 5min after I left...

Wish I’d read the read the recent reviews before going! Appalling service, no staff, no-one to give a fig what’s going on. Female server had no clue what the menu items were, got everyday food & drink names wrong, didn’t give a spoon for the soup, food ‘from the grill’ was literally cold, we had to ask for water 3 times as she seemed to forget, she clearly didn’t give a monkey’s about decent service, couldn’t split the bill, printed the same bill twice… I know it’s ‘hard to get the staff’, but surely someone should care at least a little bit!

We chose to go this restaurant for their 3-course meal, but were informed mid-way through the initial course that specific dishes were unavailable. The quality of the main course was below par both due to the small portion sizes and the taste of the dishes.

A wildly disappointing experience. We arrived at 7pm. We left at about 9.30pm after having to cancel our main meal for taking too long. The service was also extremely slow for drinks.

We went for lunch with our teens & whilst the atmosphere in the restaurant is nice & the food tasty, the service was dreadful. So slow and ignored for the first 20 minutes we were sitting at our table.

Really bad experience and service. Couldn't access the allergy menu. Really Really slow service. Myself and my dad had the prawn risotto it was overpowered by chilli 🌶 and nearly inedible. Complained got no apology. Never again.

Good food for most tastes at a reasonable price

Went for lunch today , firstly I asked for a smaller measure of wine than the measures advertised on the menu and was told no! Then we were told there was no bruschetta as they were awaiting a delivery! For something that masquerades as an Italian restaurant how can you not have bread and tomatoes?! After an hours wait for food my penne arrabiata , minus the chicken I asked for ,which the waitress ignored, was cold. How can you take an hour to cook food and it be cold? My Dad’s second drink was forgotten. There was one waitress working and a manager I believe and the waitress was not pro active and didn’t remember anything you asked her . They eventually bought a free drink for my dad as they forgot to bring him the one he ordered . I would not recommend this place nor go back. McDonald’s would be better than this place.

Meh! We stopped here for a spot of lunch while visiting Cambridge. Slow service and the food wasn't worth the wait. The Peri-Peri Chicken Penne only had 3 pieces of chicken, each the size of a 10p piece. Very disappointing. There are better places to eat in Cambridge. Wouldn't recommend.

The staff are either full on service oriented or really don't want to be there. The only smile we got from one was when we asked for the bill. The food was nice but the atmosphere was cold.

Had a meal for 13 for my cousins birthday. Lots to say… The restaurant was quiet and didn’t seem understaffed: - drinks took ages to arrived and missed a few drinks. A bottle of Prosecco took 1hr to get to the table after asking - took ages to order food. Arrived at 7:30 and starters didn’t arrive until 8:30pm.. which was garlic bread - don’t order sea bass, it came as per images below at £16.95.. salad was soggy and old and sea bass was very “cooked”. Manager took a long time to come over and no urgency given. Offered to give me a pasta which I accepted but even that was below par! - Philly sandwich was cold on arrival and 10mins after everyone else’s food - free bottle of Prosecco for the birthday girl, £55 off the bill. Hate leaving bad reviews, but this food/service is below average.

Went here for a friends 50th and my partners daughters 21st as a group of 10. Very warm welcome when we went in. Offered water whilst we waited for the rest of the family to turn up. We was allowed to decorate the table for the occasions and staff were very supportive with us bringing cakes. Food was lovely and there was abit of a hiccup with one of the meals so they gave this free of charge. When they brought the cakes out Ethan was very professional and sung with us. Highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely go back. Ethan was a lovely waiter and very approachable and the manager was lovely too!

This was a very poor choice . … 2 couples went here for supper sadly they only told us once they had sat us down that there were no pizzas that night ! Then after we had ordered our pasta dishes with aubergines and had eaten our starters we were then informed they didn’t have any aubergines .. so we re ordered …. To make things worse the new order of spaghetti bolognese arrived cold ! The salad accompanying it on the plate looked exceptionally tired & without any dressing . The did replace it and re heat the pasta but this just isn’t good enough . No discount or apologies were offered !! We won’t be going back

Horrendous service, had to go & ask to take a drinks orders, & after drinks still didn't materialise left & went elsewhere, not a word of apology from the staff. Moaning about being short staffed yet the ones there were wandering around without any sense of urgency. Don't bother!

We decided to go here for a family dinner, the interior and menu sounded lovely, it was quiet for a Sunday evening so we were seated and served quite quickly. Our starters arrived and were all fine, along with our drinks. We asked for water for the table however this didn’t turn up which wasn’t a massive deal. However the main course food and service was incredibly poor. My parents pasta dishes came out cold, when asked to reheat them, they were returned to the kitchen and brought back still cold. Upon asking again for the food to be heated up for a second time it was taken away to be re-done by the kitchen. Luckily 3rd time it came out it was hot instead of cold. For my meal I ordered the vegetarian choice of a goats cheese and mushroom baked penne. When the dish came out I double checked with the waitress that it was the correct dish as originally she said it was a chicken bake. She confirmed with me what I ordered and assured me that the meal she gave to me was the one I ordered. Upon taking a few bites I soon realised that there was chicken in my food, as a vegetarian I mentioned this to the waitress who then had to walk away to talk to their manager. It turned out that they had got it wrong and had given me a meat dish instead of the vegetarian one I ordered, when I brought this up with them they didn’t really seemed fussed, just apologised and got the correct meal from the kitchen. By the end of the meal our experience here had definitely tainted our evening slightly and we left not feeling happy. Thankfully they did offer us a discount on the food which was appreciated. Would not come back here again.

We had a hen party at this restaurant, and although the food was lovely there was definitely some disappointment in the service provided. We were told to preorder a few weeks before the day but they never emailed the menus over until a few days before, and when we arrived (slightly late) they told us they'd wait until we had settled before starting to cook the meals but instead they brought them out as soon as we sat down which felt very rushed. Most of us had finished our mains before the drinks came out about 20mins afterwards, and the waiters didn't seem to know anything about the dishes (I was told that my risotto didn't have asparagus when it was quite clearly sticking out the rice, and we asked for no ham on a salad to which the response was there wasn't ham, it's speck (a type of ham). Overall they were nice staff and the food was good but the service definitely could be improved.

Wildwood was always a family favourite and we have celebrated countless birthdays, anniversaries there and had many meals out after days in Cambridge. Unfortunately today we had a family meal that was extremely disappointing. The food was mediocre, examples being the salad which was wilted and brown, and the portions of spaghetti bolognaise and lasagne were tiny and definitely not worth the £15 (approx) price tag. The pizzas we fine but again nothing special compared to what they used to be. The toilets were disgusting with the sanitary bins over flowing and floors covered in toilet roll and other debris. The whole restaurant was tired and grubby and needs some love and attention. After many many meals here me and my whole family are disappointed and won’t be going back to Wildwood at any location.

Mushroom and chicken pasta has no chicken. Bolognese was cold. Nice servers did go and sort it out though. But would not go again

While my day trip in Cambridge we stumbled upon this place for lunch as it looked cosy and nice. We ordered a pizza and a chicken pasta. Our order got delayed for some reason and we had to wait for quite sometime. The manager apologies, and gave us a decent discount on the overall order which definitely made us feel better because as tourists for 1 day we had limited time to spare. They have really nice pizzas, and our was a vegetarian one. Overall it was a good experience and you should visit this cozy little place and try it out!

Disappointing experience. Two of us had the mushroom melt burger. Very soggy bun in one - don't they even toast the buns? The other asked for the vegan option due to food intolerances. What I wasn't told that the vegan option was to leave out the mozarella! Otherwise beware the compulsory extra 10% service charge for indifferent service. Overpriced mediocre food.

Shocking service, waiters didn’t have a clue on how to serve aswell as allowing us to order food that was out of stock and failing to tell us until we had to ask where our food was. Absolutely shocking service. One waiter Ash was amazing...

It was nice sitting outside - the little courtyard area at the back is very secluded. Margarita pizza was very tasty with a good crust (slightly black in parts on the underside, but nothing too bad) and was very reasonably priced. Pasta dish was enjoyable too. Mojito Cocktail (always my go-to cocktail) was refreshing and tangy, but not the best (nor the worst!) mojito that I've had. I would have scored 3 for drinks if there was an option to do this. Very friendly, welcoming staff, and a great location. I would definitely go here again.

Where to begin????? 1. They forgot to give us a menu when we sat down. 2. Ordered 2 starters and 2 mains. 2 mains and 1 starter arrived together, 2nd starter arrived half way through eating our main course!? 3. Bill arrived and was £70+...

Popped in for lunch today, had been there before but a long while ago so thought we would give it a try. Was seated at the back of the restaurant, decor was nice. The young waitress was very pleasant and took our drinks order and gave us time to choose our food. The drinks took ages to come out along with the food! I don’t think I ve had such a long wait for food before, especially a pizza! When the food arrived it was average, was expecting more flavour for a pizza paying over £15.00. The other off putting thing was right beside the kitchen they had used one of the tables to set up a work desk for the manager I guess? Stuff everywhere and boxes etc. if she was the manager (blonde curly hair, dressed in black/white shirt) she needs to talk to her members of staff not in ear shot of the customers- not very professional. At one point she was telling one of the waiting staff off, then she was walking backwards and forwards to a store room about 20 times. No smiles at all, not friendly! The other members of staff were lovely, shame the food and wait time let them down, especially when it wasn’t even busy! Definitely don’t go if you want a quick meal.

Came here on Sunday evening for a quick meal with a friend. The restaurant was very quiet but had to wait ages to get a seat and to have our order taken. The interior is really lovely and is decorated very nicely, but the toilets were blocked and dirty. They didn't have any pizza or garlic bread, and didn't have either of the wines we asked for. We had pasta dishes which were unfortunately very bland, and I'm not ever one to send things back, but had to send the chips back as they were absolutely covered in salt. The staff were really abrupt and really didn't make an effort, was sadly a really disappointing meal :(

We went here for a hen party yesterday. The food was amazing, and so was the service from all staff members. However, Ethan, one of the staff members went absolutely above and beyond to make it a lovely experience. He was flexible when we were running late, allowed us to decorate the table however we wished (including sparkly confetti!) and gave us a complimentary bottle of Prosecco afterwards. Amazing service, thanks so much! 😊

Food and frink was amazing little bit of a wait but worth it

Everything was as good as usual BUT I felt really sorry for the staff. There really is a terrible shortage at the moment. Luckily there were not many customers today beyond the 16 of us. However, there were only three front of house workers. I had to wait to be shown to our table and while I sat waiting I saw two groups of four enter the restaurant and then leave because there was no one to greet them. Although we had booked several days ahead and everyone in our group had pre-ordered our choices from the menu, some items were not available. The staff let us choose other more expensive dishes at no extra cost - which was very nice of them.

Unfriendly staff and high prices.

Horrible. Waited for 40 minutes with dirty plates. You need to ask every time to bring your food otherwise no one remember about you. Don’t have some ingredients for basic dishes and mentioned this while you try to order.

I strongly recommend this restaurant. The food was really good and they were so nice with the children. The secret garden is a plus, thanks for that!

Visited here recently, was very disappointed at both the quality of food and the portion sizes. Both me and my partner's food was bland and watery and didn't fill us up at all. The starter, which cost 5 pounds was just two tiny pieces of bread and oil. They also added an extra £1.50 to make my girlfriends meal vegan, which was essentially just removing the cheese from the dish. The food was overpriced for what it was and while the service was good I really wouldn't recommend.

Lovely restaurant. Good food but took far too long to get drinks and Oder food and far too long to wait for for food. I appreciate there may have been new staff but the wait was not acceptable.

Arrived early for our table and fair enough asked to wait for our table. While waiting we were made aware indirectly by team member informing other customer who arrived after us, that there was no chips and little pizza dough left. We then ordered our food with a very unenthusiastic server, with food arriving concerning-ly quickly. Which would have been ok if the food was to any standard. I ordered the pasta arrabiata which was EXTREMELY spicy (inedible). My partner ordered the peri-peri chicken pasta, which was served in a sauce… the sauce was grease. The pasta was overcooked and fell apart when attempting to put a fork through it, and to be honest it seemed like the meal were just microwaved. Furthermore, the service felt very unprofessional with the servers being very inattentive and unfriendly. When I mentioned to the waitress that the pasta was exceptionally spicy, she replied that she agreed and she complains to the chef about that. Overall, the restaurant had lovely decor, however we did not have a good experience! The servers were happy enough to take some money off (£5) for the spicy pasta, but unfortunately we will not be returning.

I think they must have been having an off day. The food was barely seasoned except for the the kids tomato pasta which came out with chilli in. Not ideal for a 4 year old. They were also wayyyy under staffed so service suffered. The staff who were there were very nice and friendly.

Great place, great food, I was sad that I couldn't have pouring cream on my desert but that's not the end of the world. And someone ought to tell their waitors that it's not polite to chew gum like they are Sir Alex Ferguson while serving and speaking to guests 🤭

Lovely restaurant with good friendly staff. Only gave 4 stars as the Carbonara was supposed to have crispy pancetta but it was more like chunks of ham, nothing crispy. Rest of the food was gorgeous though.

Two of us ate, it was pretty quiet, last service ona Wednesday evening, latest reservation we could get was 8.15. Still sat four tables all next to each other though which felt oddly cramped in an empty room. Food was good though, nice pesto garlic bread to start and I had a nice goats cheese and mushroom pasta dish. Friendly, attentive but not overbearing service.

We stopped in here for lunch on a very rainy day and were grateful of the warm welcome from staff and quick service. My son had the kids menu, which was excellent value for just over £7, as it included main course, dessert and drink. Good portion sizes which filled my very hungry 9 year old up! I chose two course special from the lunch menu at just over £11. I went for the "lighter option" of a pasta with side salad, and tiramisu for dessert. Really amazed at the portion sizes for the money. Everything was fresh, well presented and tasty. Staff were attentive and even ran after us after my son accidentally left something on our table. We were in and in around an hour and perfect for a quick meal when you sightseeing.

Probably would rate a 3.5/5. The restaurant was super cute but the atmosphere was a bit marred by the music. The food was good but not phenomenal. Enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding!

Т.к. в целом настроение уже было подпорчено, то встали и ушли.

First trip to Wildwood - had an amazing pizza - really lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. Expensive but it is central Cambridge!

The service and food were good. The menu is varied. We did not feel rushed to leave the restaurant.

Very good experience. I will recommend. + We get a table without a booking (walk in) , which is very rare now, especially on mother's day. Fast and friendly service. Starters and drinks arrived super fast. Good price/quality antipasti (but I would add a bit more selection of cheese ;) ) and garlic prawns for starter. Good quality ribeye steak and cooked as I've asked. Medium rare. Thank you chef. Daughter likes her pasta (big portion with lots of porcini mushrooms & chicken). Warm, fresh and tasty chocolate brownie. Thank you 5 star experience today.

Great meal at fair prices. I consider this one of the best value / good food restaurants in Cambridge. Central Cambridge restaurant meals often feel overpriced to me, but not Wildwood. Will use again.

Went here on valentine's day the gentleman at the front desk was very polite and warm welcoming and food was great would recommend for date nights out .
