Prince Regent in Cambridge

Went on Saturday the food was absolutely amazing and the service was brilliant.

I went to the prince after work for a few pints to chill out, sat at the bar and Tegan was lovely! Chatted away for a bit and would definitely come back!!

I come here almost every Friday and always have a good time. The atmosphere is great — lively without being too loud — and the garden is one of the best parts, especially when the weather’s nice. It’s a good spot to relax with friends and always feels welcoming. A solid place to spend an evening.

The staff are absolutely amazing, food wise the Japanese styled karaage chicken was absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend.

Sunday roast. It is ordered rather than laid out under a heat lamp for everyone to breathe on. My roast beef was first lunch order and it was tender, pink, very very juicy. Big beautiful Yorkshire pudding, nice tasty carrots and cabbage and cauli and small chunks of fried chipped potato just the right proportion each. And there are outdoors and covered seatings as well. It is a very solid place for English food and English way of dining for visitors to experience. Staff and chef are all very friendly.

I love this place. Samantha is a very kind and attentive person.

Been here for lunch two or three times and have had really nice meals at reasonable prices. The onion rings are particularly nice. Staff are always friendly. Great place to stop on the hike from the train station to the city centre 😀

Popped in for a bite to eat before heading home was absurlutely amazing customer service from the lad behind the bar didn't catch his name but was a slay queen with taking our orders an even went above an beyond to an from the kitchen to make sure the order was done as asked which was amazing customer service! Will definitely be coming back tidy toilets amazing food couldn't fault it in anyway ! My friend has an allergy an they were brilliant with maintaining that well done to the kitchen an rest of front of house ❣️

Popped in for a quick bite before our train and OH MY GOD was it good, food was absolutely delicious I could have eaten 10 times over and they were so good with handling allergies I will definitely be returning, the staff were lovely and the food looked beautiful 1000%recommend

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying the Sunday roast beef at The Prince Regent and it was absolutely exceptional! The beef was cooked to perfection — tender, juicy, and packed with flavour and the Yorkshire pudding was light and airy, just as it should be. The roast potatoes were golden and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The seasonal vegetables were fresh and complemented the whole meal wonderfully. The gravy was rich and delicious, adding the perfect finishing touch to this incredible dish. The atmosphere in the pub was warm and inviting, with friendly staff who made the experience even more enjoyable. If you're a fan of a classic Sunday roast, this is definitely the place to go! Highly recommend – I’ll be back for sure!

If I could give 0 stars I would. The ginger girl behind the bar needs some additional training or maybe hospitality just isn’t for her, super rude and sighed and said something under breath to her colleague because I just wanted a vegetarian roast without the nut roast that was unavailable. The food was vile. Literally couldn’t get through the beef. And even after stressing how my daughter was a vegetarian still she still got given beef dripping gravy on her vegetable roast that I paid £12.75 for without the nut roast. Beautiful location it’s a shame it’s run badly.

I love coming to the Prince regent, it’s always such a great atmosphere. Raf behind the bar was very nice and all of the rest of the staff were positive and smiley. I will always recommend this pub as the best in Cambridge!

Located in a charming part of the city, this pub offers a perfect balance of old-school charm and modern comforts. Upon entering, I was greeted by the warm, rustic interior, complete with wooden beams and a laid-back vibe. The staff were friendly from the start, immediately making me feel at home. The layout was spacious enough to accommodate both small groups and those just popping in for a quick drink, but it still retained an intimate, cozy feel. I opted for a spot in the beer garden, which is a lovely addition to the pub. It’s tucked away in a quiet area, ideal for enjoying a pint in the fresh air. The garden was well-maintained, and there’s plenty of seating, both in the sun and shade. On a nice day, it’s the perfect place to relax. As for the food, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of options available. I went for the classic Sunday roast, and it was superb — tender meat, perfectly roasted vegetables, and rich gravy that tied everything together. The portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted fresh and satisfying. The drinks selection is solid, with a good range of beers, ciders, and wines. I tried a local ale, which was crisp and refreshing, complementing the meal perfectly. Overall, The Prince Regent is a gem of a pub.

Not that busy, but bar staff avoided serving anyone directly in front of them. I was at the side bit of the bar and ignored. After complaining, I was told the seats at that part of the bar were supposed to be a barrier. Any other bar seats are a welcome. Avoid unless you are a teenager on a Friday.

Disgusting behaviour from male member of staff behind counter with mousey brown hair and orange ‘thatcher’ lanyard. I am a young disabled woman who was standing right next to the payment area but he ignored me for over 20 minutes in favour of serving young scantily clad (not to shame this) women. I felt awful and was left in tears afterwards. I was even wearing a sunflower lanyard but clearly that means nothing in this establishment. When I finally questioned him on this (he was about to ignore me again and serve another customer) he became defensive and said ‘do you want a drink or not’ (I had to say yes as I was ordering for someone else). NOT DISABLED FRIENDLY. GO ELSEWHERE.

The food was just as impressive—fresh, delicious, and served promptly. It’s rare to find a place where you feel this comfortable, but the Prince Regent nailed it. The friendly staff and inviting atmosphere make it an absolute must-visit.

It's a British-style restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Every time you order, you have to go to the cashier and tell them your table number and have your food brought to you. Beer will be picked up on the spot.

Spent an evening with the team here this week. Bar staff people were super efficient and professional, cranking out the drinks and food really fast despite it being super busy. Seating comfortable, toilets fine, good atmosphere. Chips and onion rings really good (ok maybe not representative of all their food but it's what I've got to judge by).

Called you to try and book a table for Christmas Day several times….no response. Left a voicemail…..no response. Went on your website and tried to enquire but you have not fixed a problem with it where you have to select a time but can not. I’m afraid that’s enough for 1 star.

Busy pub serving good food, despite how busy it was when we visited, we found all staff were courteous and polite, taking the time to serve us without feeling like we was being rushed Food arrived hot, tasty and quick! Totally recommend

Place was quite dirty (floor, tables), many of the food in the menu was ‘out of stock’ and some drinks were also not available. There are calories listed in the menu but some prices are missing. The bartender didn’t make a slight attempt to understand what i wanted, so after 50minutes waiting it turned out that he didn’t order my burger… so i cannot rate the food, just the service. Wouldn’t go back there.

We visited on Halloween weekend. The staff were all dressed up and in good spirits. Shout out to the bar server dressed as Jason from Halloween, he managed to serve us in character and complete silence. Definitely made us laugh!

Four of us visited at midday today and were greeted warmly by the young lady behind the bar. This good greeting plus a nice atmosphere when we were actually seated and settled made the visit very enjoyable. Many thanks Barbara.

The bar staff are the best! Really like to come to this pub.

At peak times in the colder months there are not enough seats outside with outdoor heaters. Also I’m not so sure hygiene wise about the servers, as I saw somebody drop an ice shovel on the floor and then put it back in the ice bucket. Drinks wise the selection is fairly commercial/Greene King oriented. I tried a Lilley’s elderflower cider but it was way too sweet and not that flavourful.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and vibe of this pub, staff knowledgeable and friendly, pub cat...adorable.

Had the bacon cheese burger with seasoned fries and it came with a couple onion rings. Food was actually good and the ambiance was nice. For those not of UK remember that seasoned in this case means adding salt or maybe even pepper to fries. Was bummed they didn't have a lot of condiments to choose from. Service staff are pleasant. Would be great to know that we need to know as we walk in that we order at bad or scan a QR code that is on a menu at the very bottom and easy to miss. Especially for newcomers. Would suggest pasting it to the table. Workers can get side tracked with larger crowds so be sure to remind them politely if they forgot the dessert as you pay for it beforehand. Will definitely go again now that I know what to do. Do take note that the brownies are small but do taste good and rich for those with a sweet tooth.

We got our first meals five minutes after ordering, and the rest one full hour later. The place in very nice so I guess it might be fun to just chill and wait, but not when you're really hungry.

Cosy corners to sit in. Nothing bad. Enjoyed their fish n chips. Blood orange and lime lemonade were to my liking. Curry sauce with fish and chips was best. They fry fish n chips in separate oil so no cross-contamination for diners seeking halal.

Only drawback was tough chicken breast in the BBQ chicken which wouldn't submit even to a steak knife that my host had to ask for, and the lack of garden peas in the kitchen. Sainsbury's is two minutes away! Wine (Sauvignon Blanc) was excellent. Staff very friendly.

2£ a beer, but it is made from sparkling water with a pill, undrinkable. The food...is not 3d printed like in any pub's, it's just a tooth paste with different colours. Only for Brits without a passport.

Pretty standard chain pub. Nothing horrendous. Staff were really nice. Decor is good and there are quiet little corners for intimate catch ups or larger tables for families. A nice balance

A nice pub which is a good place to go for a beer - the lunch is pretty average with small salads and a lot of bread. But it has a nice atmosphere.

My husband and I visited here on a sunny Sunday afternoon and sat in the beer garden initially just for some drinks. The staff were friendly and as soon as we saw the standard of food coming out we decided to stay and have food. Such a great price and really yummy! Not something which I can say about all Greene King pubs. We will definitely be back again soon for a visit with friends and family.
