WildWood Cheam in Sutton

Our family (4 adults) went to celebrate our son's birthday. First impressions were good - lovely decor, spotlessly clean, friendly welcome. Good choice of menu - we enjoyed seafood linguine. Portions are large. Polite, attentive but not intrusive service. We appreciated we were able to relax and chat as no loud music and no huge groups of noisy shouting people, just others enjoying a relaxing fun evening. We were impressed and look forward to returning soon.

Great food, lovely staff, reasonable prices. Visiting Cheam and had set lunch. Spaghetti Bolognese, lasagne followed by tiramisu - Delicious.

Our family of 25 people went to WildWood Cheam to celebrate our mother's 90th birthday. All the staff, particularly our waiter, Zac, were absolutely fantastic! We had the set party menu at under £20 for 3 course. There were so many choices and all the food was delicious. Thank you all so much for making our mum's birthday meal so special. Big shout out once again to Zac for being so attentive.

Went to Wildwood Cheam to mark my father’s 89th birthday. We’ve been several times before, prior to pandemic and had a good family meal. While the chicken piri piri pasta was OK, the aubergine in the penne alla Norma was marginally undercooked ( often a problem in UK restaurants). Two ribeye steaks were very disappointing, with lots of gristle, which, considering they cost £22.50 each, is not really on. The calamari starter was rubbery and the bruschetta less than overwhelming. Drinks were fine, but desserts again (specifically the cookies and cream cheesecake and tiramisu) were decidedly underwhelming. Given that the bill for six came to £236.66, including service, the price:value ratio was definitely poor. Service was fine and the restaurant itself inside is lovely, but sadly we will not be returning.

I had eaten at Wildwood pre pandemic, and we had a reasonable meal at that time. Sadly, not this time. Firstly I felt they were short staffed, not an uncommon problem these days, but no excuse for poor value food served in the kind of way they did things in the 1970s. Prawn cocktail (a mistake to choose that, although hindsight is a wonderful thing). I should have baulked at the £8.95 price tag and then the small round metal dish arrived, stuffed with lettuce leaves and in the midst a paltrey amount of small prawns smeared in thousand island dressing. I have no memory of avocado which, if present, was miniscule. Certainly not good value. The chicken dish tasted nice, but again the value wasn't there at £14.95, it came with a choice of dauphinoise potatoes, chips or salad. I chose the potatoes and then wished I had chosen the chips as the potatoes were rather soft and flat. The dessert, of which there were a limited number as they appeared to have run out, was called a Coup Noire (vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce). It came served in that ubiquitous metal dish (two small scoops) with the sauce on the side. It tasted good, but the value at £4.25 was not there. Three of our party sent back their vegetable sides which were small and a "bit brown in parts". All in all a meal to be forgotten and I hope this restaurant can raise it's game to pre pandemic levels. It may have an off night for the chef, but I certainly won't be recommending or choosing to return any time soon.

Our group attended for a festive meal and we all enjoyed our choices. I have to say I really also enjoyed the festive/Christmas cocktail. The restaurant was decorated nicely and made it all feel very festive. I have to say for a chain restaurant, I was genuinely impressed.

Haven't been here for several years, & wont be rushing back. We decided to share a starter of mozzarella & caramalised garlic bread. When it arrived whilst the centre had toppings, the outside 1 1/2 inches was just plain bread. We didn't say anything until our plates were cleared and the waiter said he would tell the kitchen, implying to us that it shouldn't have been like that. Well within 15 minutes or so the tables either side of us had the same starter and appeared exactly the same. Clearly what we got was standard :-(. Mains were Ok, nothing spectacular for the money. On ordering another large Moretti the waitress thought that hey may have run out - she checked and they had a few left. Got me thinking - running out of alcohol early on a Friday evening - bad stock planning. Won't be rushing back as I don't want half a dish missing, and face potential of no beer....

Finally able to return to the UK after a two and a half year gap and my friends and I celebrated with a return visit to Wildwoods. Food was terrific. Had Penna Arrabbiata with chorizo (which there was plenty of), and it was delicious. We returned for my last night in London and I ordered the Piccante Carne pizza (thin crust), which was huge and covered in Milano salami, pepperoni, smoked ham, etc. Considering the ridiculous inflation rates on both sides of the pond, the prices at Wildwoods are not bad at all. The restaurant was very clean and on both visits, our wait staff could not have been friendlier and more efficient!!! Looking forward to my next visit.

Visited today to have a birthday meal with my family for my son. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was excellent and the service was great. All round, a great experience. We will look forward to visiting again soon 😀

Spur of the moment booking. We arrived and the restaurant was extremely quiet. Only a couple of tables were been used. My first impression was, there was no atmosphere at all. We ordered drinks and our food. Service was a little slow considering the restaurant was quiet. Food was hot and tasted ok, nothing special. Would I go back, not really unless it was a last resort

Had two meals with the garlic and cheese bread starter . That was a good choice. The peri peri chicken pasta was lovely, spicy and creamy. The problem was with the parmiter (!) potato served with the chicken thigh dish they were tiny cubes of what was possibly potato but it was grey. Horrible. So unacceptable.

I have to say that, sadly, in my opinion, the food at this restaurant is mediocre. I'm not saying it's terrible, but it's not that great. The staff are very friendly and do their best to make you feel welcome. They serve a range of Italian dishes, pizzas, pasta, salads, risottos...the usual fare. The minestrone soup was very good, but I found the pizza very uninteresting and lacked topping. It is very popular with locals as it's easy to eat here, you know what you are getting. But there are better italian restaurants in the area. I have eaten here three times since it opened and it hasn't made great strides in improvement. As I mentioned, the staff are the best thing which is very important in restaurants, but the food must take a priority place in my world of eating out.

Worst lunch ever . No pizza or bread products due to an ordering blunder . No mustard , No chocolate brownie . Burger was fit for soling your shoes . Couldn’t chew it so took home for my dog .

First time at this restaurant, plenty of choice on the menu. I have dietary requirements but still found plenty of food to choose from. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Good value for money. Will be going back at some point to sample more of their menu.

In the branded restaurants/pizza pasta thing in Cheam, it is definitely a improvement. The menu is a bit more inventive, the quality of food and service much better than the awful Prezzo or terrible Pizza Express. Great sticky toffee pud.
