Caffe Nero in Sutton

I love coming to this café Nero in Sutton, the staff are great and the atmosphere is tranquil even with the busy noise of the coffee machines and conversations taking place.

Victoria was very attentive and helpful. The coffee was amazing, will be returning to this branch.

Luckily for this store the minimum I can give is 1 star, because even that is generous. I have been going to many different Caffè Nero’s across the country as I generally love the brand's selection of coffees. Safe to say I will actively swerve this horrible store in particular. Staff here are rude, unhelpful and treat in a manner which is frankly, appalling. One such bad experience happened earlier today. Due to religious requirements I cannot eat pork. I had a 2 for 1 on panini offer and there was only one vegetarian panini. I picked up a cheaper tostati, as it was cheaper than a panini, and hoped the staff here would be willing to accomodate. Unfortunately, the barista refused to co-operate and told me to look elsewhere. A dreadful shame, as I have enjoyed Nero's paninis before. Kind and compassionate at other branches have in my experience, regularly go out of their way to accommodate for customers to help them feel welcomed and valued, and should be highlighted and commended for their exceptional customer service. At Wallington Cafe Nero however, staff are plainly unhelpful and irritatingly jobsworth-like. Clearly the senior management at this chain have no ability to imbue a sense of joy into staff, who make it very clear they despite each waking second of their job at Wallington Cafe Nero. Lest be known, my negative experiences in this chain are almost endless. On another occasion, I was told I could not get NHS discount on a coffee despite presenting my valid NHS smart card, which has helped me get a 10% discount before. These examples, but to name a few, sums up the unacceptable customer service at this branch. I am no longer willing to put up with this any further. I shall never pay this horrid branch with its horrid staff ever again. Going forward I will become a regular customer at the Costa Next door. Goodbye, toodle-doo, and farewell to Cafe Nero Wallington - you will NOT be missed!

I m a loyal cafe nero custumer , I came to have a coffee and relax as usal i was needing to use the toilet the manager refuse to hand the key untill i buy a cofee first he wanted me to queue behind 5 people and pay for my cofee first than use the toilet even tho i told him im dispread and need the toilet immediately he didnt care and refuse and distrspect me infront of people , what kind off service is this ! Whoever has been making my coffee of late its been horrible taste like water every time I have ordered over the last 3 months which is quite regular i get sad excuse for caffeine product

Met a friend to have a chat. He had an expresso. I didn't fancy a drink.

Visited to redeem my Octopus coupon for a milkshake, but it didn't work for some reason, and staff did not have a manager on site. They told me it had expired but clearly it had not and I showed them the expiry date. I left without my milkshake. I then visited another store in Coulsdon and the staff were in contrast super helpful and redeemed the coupon. The milkshake was superb I might add. I suggest if Cafe Nero take part in these promotions that they train their staff up to deal with the redemption of the bar code. Disappointed with Wallington branch.

Some staff could be friendlier and maybe smile a bit. Friendly service goes a long way. I had to clear the table myself of two trays of cups.

OK for a coffee. But needs a really good deep clean and smarten up. Not enough staff to ensure tables are cleared and even occasionally given a wipe!

Went there and had millionaires hot chocolate absolutely wonderful 😊 with a mince pie.

Lovely coffee shop with great selection of coffees, sandwiches and sweet treats. Nero coffee is my favourite, but of course that is down to personal preference. There are some nice sofas for groups, as well as smaller, tall tables that work perfectly if you are just two, or on your own. Best coffee in Wallington, look no further.

Cosy cafe in a busy area in Wallington. Good place to have a break as it's close to shops and supermarkets.

Social distance marked spacing, maskson whilst in queue. Good atmosphere. Friendly service sanitation, clean and a cosy comfortable place to chill out fir breakfast lunch or a pop in snack.

Went to cafe Nero wallington Tues 29/9/23 @ 5.45pm. They close @ 6.30pm Normally, going to a place near to closing they just want you out This guy tonight was outstanding, he gave service with much care. Perfect toasted focaccia, perfect cappuccino, no rushing me out Sorry I didn’t catch his name, he was brilliant. I hope he sees this or this is passed onto him Thank you, very nice experience.

When I arrived at the restaurant at 09.15 for coffee and pain au chocolat, there was a slow moving queue. Fortunately, a server who was preparing a delivery order, just became available for me when it was my turn. Comfortable time with good atmosphere.⁹

Coffee never fails to meet their usual high standards. Staff are always efficient and friendly and it's usually busy, so bonus points if you manage to snag one of the voluminous comfy chairs in the front window. It's a great spot to sit and people watch while sipping your coffee (and perhaps nibbling on one of their excellent moist chocolate muffins)

I loved the staff who are very friendly with the customers, I hope they continue like this, they motivate the staff who are valuable.

Always like Cafe Nero. This outlet seems well run and service was good. Hot chocolates are always better at Nero than Costa. On the food, the portions are good, again far bigger than Costa.

This is my local Nero but it has a tremendously haphazard service attitude. No welcome greetings. No apologies for waiting. No smiles. Backs turned. Just no acknowledgement at all. The waitress seemed more interested in one of the customer's instagram pics, which is fine for him and his customer experience but galling for mine. The counter is very high here so they have a superior look down at you as you wait and order. Uncollected trays on tables and unwiped spillages on empty tables. The barista was in the middle of making an online order, but he didn't explain this, so I spent five minutes wondering what on earth was happening. I thought it was a training run or something. The coffee is good. The shortbread pleasant. But they don't make the beans or the cake. All they need to do is make me feel welcome. I expect I'll be back as its on my local high street, but I hope for some basic mannerly improvements in here.

It was very quiet when I went in so the service was quick. All to the right quality, the flat white was as I would expect from Nero so I can say this is a nice little one and is well looked after.

Had lunch in Cafe Nero Wallington today. The young guy serving was on his own. No sign of any other staff member in the hour I was there so assume he was on his own for the day. He was amazing serving everyone very quickly and politely and attempting to clear tables etc in between. A credit to Cafe Nero. I do not normally do reviews but had to in this case.

Even though I have been a loyal customer but I an many other customers you company is forcing us to play credit and debit card where we and vast number wish to pay cash. forcing us to have to what much longer I and do not appreciate your policy at this moment I will resist not using card and encourage others

Just popped in while waiting for the bus in Wallington. Listened to request & with lighting efficiency made my drink. Piping hot & made my bus in 2 minutes.

Do find staff quick but not overly friendly. Server could not understand how to do a free coffee using two loyalty cards.

A friend and I popped in for coffee and cake one afternoon last week. A nice clean place, excellent coffee, delicious cake and friendly service. What more can one ask for?! Gets a recommendation from me!

Coffee was very bitter had to pay for a shot of syrup as staff refused to change my drink when it was not only bitter to the point of tasting like reused grinds but was not hot either it was lovely and cool inside very clean toilet facilities but the above let it down

This is our regular coffee shop, nice and cosy. Always friendly staff, they recognise regulars and can have a good chat with them.

Rather like the Caffe Nero and this is no exception had a great cup and the service was very good. The food is always fresh even if not made on the premises. Thank you for the welcome.

I visited Caffe Nero of Wallington mid afternoon on an October rainy day. The place, as in many other of the Nero chain of coffee shops is tastefully decorated and has comfortable sitting. The service is self service, I ordered my cappuccino and pastry, paid, set down in a comfortable arm chair and enjoyed a perfectly made cappuccino and freshly made almond croissant. I found the place clean and inviting. Ron Ben-Zvi.
