Wildwood in Birmingham

Visited for a meal March 2024. The staff were friendly enough and warned us in advance that there could be a reasonable wait on food, approx 40 mins which was ok for us. Garlic bread was dried out but the pizza was very tasty. £6.25 for a bottle of Shipyard! It wouldn’t have been quite so bad if it was from the tap but ouch.. for a bottle this is over the top. 10% service charge on top too. The food was fine but it was a bit pricey for what it is.

Fantastic Lunch. Food and staff were excellent. We were having a friends reunion as we hadn’t all been together for 38 years. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful time together. They even bought out a glass of Prosecco for the three of us for our celebration, what a lovely touch! Thank you so much for looking after us on our special day 😊

The penne chicken mushroom pasta was so disappointing - it tasted of nothing. However, my friend really enjoyed her lasagne. Service charge automatically added to the bill. We then missed our train because the card machine kept failing. Would not go again.

First of all waited for 20 minutes for order to be taken. Food was absolutely unacceptable Garlic bread gone beyond burnt lasagne was dry and burnt and chips were scraggy

On the whole, it was OK. The starter which was 8.50, just wasn't enough. There was enough pate and chutney, but just half a slightly burned slice of sourdough, not good enough. The lasagne was fine but for 15.00, maybe a side salad. Also the mocktail as nice as it was, can't see the justification of charging 5.75. The service was fine but not happy about being charged a service charge then having to ask for it to be removed. The food was quite pricey for what it is. Don't think I'd return unless I had a discount voucher.

Not very impressed. Ordered a minute steak and fries. Meat was almost cold when it arrived so I asked for it be reheated. This took some time so we didn't eat our meal together. No mustard on the premises - odd when they serve steak. 10% service charge added which you have to ask the waitress to deduct if you don't feel the service warrants it. This practice is designed to be embarrassing if you are entertaining a guest to meal and I don't like it. Will not return.

Popped in here for a post-Xmas nosh after seeing pals in Brum. Ordered calamari and meat pizza. Food OK, just what you'd expect from high st chain, but staff great.

My friend booked here for 6 of us to have lunch here, expecting to have their lunch menu advertised on their website, 2 courses for £11.95 or 3 courses for £14.95. I was really looking forward to having this meal, but was told when we'd sat down that they weren't doing this menu as they were doing the Christmas menu in place of it. When you are on a limited budget and were expecting a menu at a certain price then get something at a higher price it has certainly put me off going to any Wildwood restaurants again. Wildwood get your website updated regularly!! We went someone else for a meal, so Wildwood lost our business.

City was very busy due to the Christmas Market but staff were very accomdating, the food was amazing every one of us cleared the plates. Not the cheapest place to eat but you get what you pay for, definitely go again and although part of a franchise the quality was excellent

Really good value Restaurant with good choices and very helpful and friendly staff.We shared the mushroom and mozzarella bruschetta to start, then my wife had a grilled courgette and goats cheese pizza and I had the veggie calzone.Enjoyable food in a nice setting.

We had not booked a table and it was a busy Friday night. Unfortunately, we had been let down by another restaurant and we were looking for somewhere else for my birthday. Despite them being busy, they may room for us and it was done with a smile. Thank you Luca for being so helpful. Firstly, we cannot fault the service! Specifically Lucy looked after us so well and nothing was too much bother. She was friendly, polite, but not too intrusive. Honestly, a credit to any establishment. Next, the food.... oh my days, it was so yummy. Both my fiancé and I had lasagne and shared a garlic bread. The lasagne was piping hot and the meat melted in your mouth. It was so scrummy. We cannot rate this place high enough and just wished we lived closer to be able to visit more. Thank you for making my birthday extra special 💗

Our daughter chose here for a family meal following a good experience she had at their Bicester outlet. There were 6 of us plus a toddler on a Friday night. First impressions are very good, smart decor and a warm dining room. I thought it was very quiet for a Friday night. Our expectations were high but unfortunately it didn't live up to them. Our table was at the end of the restaurant, three of us having to look at a wall, and strangely the table was picking up an annoying vibration from somewhere. In hindsight I should have asked to be moved. The service was pleasant but couldn't say it was 'professional' or attentive but you can't blame the staff if they haven't been trained correctly We weren't asked if anyone had allergies, nor was there any guidance in the menu. It was important to us as one has an egg allergy which can be severe at times. Unfortunately our waitress had to keep checking with the kitchen for guidance and then it became apparent that some of their food is bought in and they had to read the labels. It was eventually sorted but it did take time. Similarly, as a driver I would have liked to see the strength of the beers stated. We went straight into mains which took over an hour to arrive from ordering. Even then there was a 10 minutes difference between the first and last dish on the table. They had obviously forgotten one dish and a side although the waitress did try to cover for the kitchen mistake. I enjoyed my exceptionally large calzone, the two pizzas were ok, a bit bland perhaps, the three pasta dishes looked good but my daughter left half of hers. Some of the food including the sides was hot, some cool which suggests they hadn't got it together. The chips were also overly salted for our tastes. At no time were we asked if everything was ok and the table was very slow to be cleared. We finished with two desserts which were very good. I think our waitress realised that we weren't entirely happy, and a 'new' face brought us the bill. Under the circumstances I thought it not unreasonable to ask for the £21 service charge to be deducted. Disappointing overall, it should have been better but it wasn't a 'bad' evening.

We have eaten here before so chose this as a lunchtime treat. The person taking our order could see we were ordering off the lunchtime menu, but on no occasion pointed out to us that it wasn't valid today. So our cheap lunch for two was almost £55! Very disappointed. Feel ripped off. This would have been so avoidable if she had just mentioned that bit of the menu wasn't valid today. The cheesecake is not worth the money... and had I known it was over £7 each I wouldn't have bothered. We had to chase up our desserts and salad didn't come with dressing. When I asked, I was given balsamic rather than the vinaigrette dressing promised. Although I was offered a replacement, I had eaten most of it by that time. Whole situation was a disappointment. Been before with no issues, but no unsure if I would return.

Chose this restaurant because they offer more than the standard 2 or 3 vegetarian options. Did not disappoint. The vegetarian pizza with goat's cheese was huge and very good, garlic bread was crispy and tasty and service very helpful. Would visit again.

Have been to this retaurant before , and have been pleased with the food and the service , but a recent visit was disappointing .I ordered a pizza ,and a side dish of a panzanella salad. The food came , and was very good . When the bill came I was surprised that the side salad cost more than the pizza !
