Second visit here for lunch,very pleasant and welcoming upon arrival,choice of seating which was nice as we enjoy comfortable booth seating,service was spot on and timely,and food was hot and fresh,had garlic bread with caramelised onion and cheese and calamari for starter followed by Bolognese with beef Ragu and ribeye steak and fries with garlic butter,for me beef Ragu was tasty but tasted too strong of celery and veg and not enough wine and beef stock flavour, desserts although not homemade were very good,lemon custard tart was yummy and sticky toffee pudding was satisfying with good custard,overall lovely lunch ,service was great, well worth another visit

Issy was sensational, she warmly greeted me alongside Jamey. Peri Peri Chicken tasted great, I’d highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in Braintree.

All good thanks apart from one gripe. Whilst it is quite likely that this is becoming more widespread, I object to having 10pc service automatically added to the bill. Yes, the staff did say feel free to remove but nonetheless, I don't feel this is appropriate. As it happens I usually tip more than 10pc but chose not to this time as it seems like taking liberties. Please reconsider.

I already sent feedback on the wildwood site, but I just wanted to praise the manager at the Braintree wildwood for her help at the weekend. I had a birthday voucher, but my phone was playing up, you could hardly see the offer etc, but she was so helpful, telling me not to worry she would accept it and allowed me to swop to non alcohol drinks, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.

This is actually a really nice restaurant, despite always being busy when we arrive. We have had some very nice pizzas here that are served fresh, with minimal wait. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the price is reasonable. The atmosphere is also very welcoming. Recommended.

First visit to Wildwood Freeport, thought the Christmas Decor was very nice & colourful. Nice staff, lovely young lady who waited on us, (sorry didn,t get her name) Food was really very nice as was desert. There was five of us so we did pay the optional service charge as service /attentiveness was good. Was an enjoyable lunch visit & would go back.

The restaurant looked inviting but the food was awful - we both had the bigger pizza for an extra £2.00 but it was so painfully thin and so streched that it was inedible and not enjoyable and you could not cut it with a knife and fork but had to pull it apart. There ends were hard and the service very slow as it was 4.30 and not a busy time. We are pensioners and do not go out a great deal so was very disappointed after a nice day shopping at Freeport.

We booked a table for 7 of us to celebrate a family birthday. Booking was easy online . From the moment we arrived we were greeted by staff , who were friendly from the onset. Our table was large and very comfortable. We ordered a variety of starters and mains. I have an allergy and they were very precise and careful with my food. Even marked up as allergy. Our food was delicious 😋. Service was excellent and we happily paid the optional service charge as the staff all deserved it. We hope to go back very soon.

Went in the other day just to get something to eat we walked in to a smile they sant us down, the wanter that’s we had was called grace she was a lovely young girl she all ways had a smile, give u time to pick are food, the food was magnificent. If your looking for a restaurant, something to it I would differentiate recommend this place.

Average food. Initial staff member was a rad surly, might have been a language issue. Food average quality but great quantity. Later supervisor was full of fun and very engaged. Toilets clean.

Our meal was certainly very nice and fairly priced. In fact, compared to other Italian restaurants and chains, it was cheap and quite tasty. But there were a few issues. 25 min in, having ordered drinks first thing, our starters came (but no drinks). Apparently the computer didn’t print the drinks order. Having read feedback from others I’d say either their computer never prints stuff, or there’s human error involved. The food took a bit longer than expected to arrive, but it was fine as we were in no hurry. Dessert and coffee came quickly. So I have 3 stars as it would be good for them to check their service more carefully but overall I will go back

Apart from the starter, which was tasty, the 2 portions of Spaghetti carbonara were tasteless, greasy, and the piece of chicken thrown in, which was asked for extra, was simply just boiled. The very salty pepperoni pizza we ordered really stung our throats. My husband asked for cold beer, it was brought almost to room temperature, seeing this he asked for another one with the mention that it should be cold and all he received cold was just the glass. Plus, the waiting time for the dishes was long and the restaurant was not full at all. I do not recommend!!

Seated straight away at a table for 3. My husband hadn’t made his mind up about a drink so asked for more time. The waitress brought 2 drinks, one of which was incorrect and had to be taken back. The food order was also incorrect. My husband asked for no tomato in his burger; it came with tomato. My daughter asked for a light pasta with a side salad. Regular sized pasta with no side salad came out. The advertised ragu sauce was just mince which looked like it had been boiled with a few bits of tomato. I ordered pasta with chorizo; no chorizo so a side order was brought which was floating in oil. My daughter has visited this particular restaurant three times and was each time the order was incorrect. In addition this time her meal was not enjoyable. Will not be visiting again.

Good food, good service however service charge was automatically applied and expensive, we would recommend to other families late Saturday afternoons

Great experience , pre booked a table online , on arrive was seated quickly in a booth, was very quiet so maybe did not need to book . Had drinks and a main both came quick and hot. We had the ribs and the chicken and asparagus risotto. 2 empty plates from us really goods Nicely decorated and enjoyed our visit would come again 👍

Frequent visitors to Freeport and thought we’d try Wildwood.. never again. Waited an hour for mains that didn’t arrive, asked after 50 minutes how much longer they’d be and the waitress went to ask, she then returned to tell us the mains we’d ordered wasn’t available.. so yes we’d been sat there waiting for an hour for food that was never going to arrive. Garlic bread starter we had was bland and burnt. Safe to say we left and got a sandwich elsewhere for the journey home. 0/10.

My friend and I decided to go to wildwood for lunch. The menu looked nice and restaurant looked inviting. We were greeted once staff and finished serving customers and place round the corner from the waiter station. Two following tables were sat down after us. The waiters didn’t acknowledge us but served the other two tables. My friend tried to get a young female staff member attention and she seemed to totally ignore us so we were about to get up and leave but two minutes later she appeared and asked us what we wanted. We ordered two cokes, water, two mains and garlic bread. I had spaghetti carbonara which tasted like it was made from a jar sauce. My friend had lasagne that looked appetising but she said it tasted very basic and bland. Our cokes arrived straight away but water never did and no one appeared to come near us for us to be able to ask for the water. When we asked for the bill the staff automatically put a service charge on, despite there only being two of us. Unfortunately we felt that due to how we were treated we didn’t wish to pay this and will not be returning.

The service was really poor from our waitress, the food was lukewarm and rather bland. The only good parts was the sticky toffee pudding, cheesecake and leaving the place.

Terrible service forgot about are mains had to wait over 45 minutes. Food was nice but the service was rubbish at best.

The food was very nice and I have no complaints in relation to that. However I do have an issue regarding staff who took their break in a booth next to our booth whilst on their mobile phone watching TikTok on full volume . Perhaps I’m old fashioned but I do not think that is acceptable. I was quite aghast by this behaviour and it would appear it was completely acceptable by the manager. At no time did the manager tell the staff member to either move or turn their phone off. I made a point of looking at he waitress to display my disproval in front of the manager whilst paying my bill. A #awks moment but the waitress continued watching TikTok full blast and the manager said nothing. Add injury to insult my daughter tells me the staff member on their phone gave me snide a look/pulled a face when I was not in eyeshot. I expect that behaviour from school children on a train or a bus but not in a restaurant. An obvious training need …
