Excellent food and service! My server Kasia was was so welcoming & friendly, she really made my experience pleasant!! :)

Good food. Pizza was great. Tha calamari was okay but have had better. Nice location and interior but we sat outside to enjoy the sun.

Great place to visit, cafe is good, same old foods and drinks that you get from most other cafes. But good all the same.

We ate at Wildwood this evening and are very happy we chose to book our meal there. It’s a lovely restaurant in a beautiful old building which has been renovated to a great standard. The atmosphere is great, background music was on but at just the right level to not bother whilst chatting and eating. We cannot fault anything. The food was amazing, the service was fantastic, Maisie, our waitress was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and that everything was ok. Price was actually what I would consider too cheap for how good everything was. Would like to come back again before we leave. If you’re in Canterbury treat yourself and have a meal here.

Booked lunch for the afternoon, service was great but sadly the food was very disappointing. My buttermilk chicken burger was chewy, and smelt of old oil, the salad in bun was wilted and hardly there, the calamari was burnt, frozen. It's a shame that most of what we ate was possibly frozen. The service was great and therefore we didn't complain. It's a shame eaten there a few times before and always happy.

Had a lovely meal pizza was really nice, the fries were pretty good also, I had rosemary garlic bread, it comes with 3 pieces but the bottom one was submerged in oil, the staff were very friendly it was abit busy but I felt like we was waiting a long time for anyone to see us or when we was waiting for food But overall I would still go back!

We ordered take out online from Wildwood. There was no system on their website to let you know when your food was ready (no estimated time and the progress bar did not work). By the time we got to the restaurant our pizzas had been sitting and were cold. This would not have been a serious issue had the food been good. We ordered two pizza's. Both were underwhelming. Chewy dough, weak flavours. I would compare the pizza with a cheaper takeaway pizza chain. We were generally disappointed. I will probably try their dine in service to see if that might be more enjoyable.

My wife and I were visiting Canterbury and decided to go to Wildwood for lunch. We had the lunch special which had a good choice, and at a reasonable price. Pomedoro and squid for starter. The pomedoro was amazing. Vegan lasagne and spaghetti bolognese for main course. Accompanied by two large glasses of wine and a coffee. The service was very good, attentive but not too much. A reasonably priced lunch at £45.00

Don't be put off by it being a chain. I have consistently had the best waiting experience anywhere at this restaurant. Food delicious and they are happy to correct and reimburse for any alterations. My sister had 2 unopened muscles and we were given an entire bowl as an apology. Food is fantastic and seasonal with a fantastic menu. Consistently, superb have returned several times. Will always recommend this place.

Much to my shock, she replied to say that it just depended which manager was working!! We then decided to leave and take our custom elsewhere as this is not acceptable!

Lovely quiet little place, excellent food, good service and lovely strawberry lemonade

First time eating in a Wildwood restaurant, and I have to say I was not overly impressed. It started off well, with the first round of drinks arriving promptly, and the Arancini starter was more than decent. But after that it started to go downhill. Trying to get anyone’s attention for a second round of drinks was hard going as all the staff seemed to be congregated round in the entrance area, so out of sight of the diners. The main course then took an eternity to arrive, and when it did was somewhat disappointed. Whilst the calzone was very generous in portion size, and well filled, the closer you got to the middle of the calzone the colder it was getting – it was barely lukewarm. The accompanied side salad was drenched in oil making it somewhat unpleasant. Overall, it is not somewhere we would return to

5 of us celebrating 2 birthday's. Seated upstairs which was really nice. Our table was out of the way and we were able to chat at a normal level. Waiter was a scream, great sense of humour. Food delivery fast and quality of food excellent.

We by chance entered into this Italian restaurant, and surprisingly it was cute, cozy and with friendly atmosphere. The staff was very pleasant, friendly and accommodating. We ordered a few light dishes, tomato-spiced shrimps with focaccia, Cobe Salad, Aubergine risotto and Margarita/salad combo. Fast service, and restaurant was packed at 15:30 in the afternoon. The spicy chilly olive oil bottle on each table was a nice “Italian” feature. Great experience, strongly recommended. Lovely service !!!

Lovely staff. Good quick service. Shame my uncut pizza didn't come with a pizza cutter. Asked staff and they said they don't have them for customers. Was awkward to cut my pizza with knife & fork. So wouldn't have a pizza here again. However wouldn't return for pasta as food here is nice.

I visited Wildwood with my family and found the experience to be mixed. The location and Tudor building were beautiful, but the service had its ups and downs. Some staff were attentive, while others lacked finesse. Fast service and accommodation despite being almost fully booked were positives. Did not liked situation that when we asked for napkins, waitress brought bunch and tossed these in the middle of the table. The food was slightly above average, but the steak wasn't cooked to our liking, and the ribs were a bit tough. Drinks, especially cocktails, were disappointing, being overly watery with unbalanced ingredient quantities. Very watery Aperol Spritz, and yes, I know after is one of the ingredients, but way too much of it. The atmosphere had an 'eat quick and go' vibe, with a peculiar music mix (Motley Crue) that didn't match the overall ambiance. Clean toilets were a plus, though expected early in the night. While we might consider revisiting, it wouldn't be solely for a great experience.

We visited this restaurant for a meal on Christmas Eve. We had excellent service by staff and were quickly seated to our pre booked table. The drinks and starters came very quickly and were then followed up with some extremely tasty main courses. The prices are reasonable and worked out about £30 a person for two courses and alcohol.

Great restaurant, food tasty and clearly high quality fresh ingredients. We did the Christmas Dinner which was well priced and had enough choice for everyone to pick something that they could look forward to. Wildwood is well placed in the centre of Canterbury so easy to find and get to and the layout means there are multiple dining areas so it feels intimate without feeling enclosed. Staff were mostly great, friendly and helpful, except the guy who greeted ud who was a bit snooty and his service felt a bit like he was doing ud a favour, but dif not spoil the experience and everyone else was brilliant. Highly recommended.

Really rude staff - popped head in to ask if dogs are permitted and instantly a girl said " leave , you need to get out, dogs aren't allowed . " We hadn't even asked properly , uneducated insensitive girl, I don't mind if dogs aren't permitted but that's not the attitude and it leads you to assume same with table service.

Had lunch here after an early theatre show. Staff were very friendly generally and our waitress was very helpful with dietary requirements for a member of our group. Food was very nice and service reasonably quick. We would be happy to eat here again when in Canterbury.

Quite disappointed with this experience. The service was efficient, however the food was disappointing. The Calzone was around £16 so my expectations were rather high. These expectations were not met… The presentation looked fabulous, however the taste was unsatisfactory. The tomato sauce had no flavour and there was an abundance of cheese (this may be of preference to some but unfortunately not for me). My partner ordered the peri peri chicken pasta, around £15. They said it was a 6/10 nothing special, once again lacking flavour. One positive from this experience was the cocktails, reasonably priced and tasted fantastic! Overall, we would not seek to visit this restaurant chain again for the food.

was recommended by a friend so booked a table, had a pizza and a bottle of vegan wine which were both lovely, olives to start and steak for hubby. Highly recommend will definitely be back next time we are over that way. Staff friendly too!!

The personnel are very nice and polite. Food was good and served very quickly. The waitress even advised us that there was a service charge but that we could ask to have it removed if we didn't want to pay for it. That never happened to me in the UK!

This was our first time to Wildwood tonight..The food was absolutely AMAZING and The Portuguese manager and the young Lady were very polite and attentive.....We will definitely be back and would highly recommend eating here...and may we say it was the best meal we have eaten out for a while ...keep it up guys 😋😋😋 ...Francesco and Lissa

Visited with a group of about 10 and space had been set ready for our arrival. We ordered a variety of food and drink and everyone appeared happy with their choices. Only downside was the delay for food. It was quite busy on a Saturday so could be expected for a larger group, but still led to 4 stars.

Visit this place today before heading to the Marlowe theatre, really lovely food with amazing staff!! We originally went to Zizzi and they were so rude and unhelpful that we left and came here. Should of come here first, big shout out to the staff Carlos and Maisie who were so warm and friendly, well done guys xx

Wonderful location in a Tudor-style building, not far from the cathedral and right on the canal where the boat tours depart. Sidewalk tables, indoor dining rooms, and a garden at the back. Nice choices on the menu from starters, mains, pasta, pizza, and desserts. Tiger prawns, caramelized onion pita, and four seasons pizza were all excellent.

Wildwood Canterbury is a fantastic Italian restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere. We recently had the pleasure of dining there, and we were blown away by the quality of the food, the service, and the overall ambiance. For our main courses, we ordered the "four season" pizza and the "Philly cheesesteak" pizza. The "four season" pizza was topped with pepperoni, mozzarella, roasted artichoke, mushrooms, red pepper, anchovies, black olives, and basil. The "Philly cheesesteak" pizza was topped with thinly cut strips of marinated steak, roasted red onion, chimichurri dressing, mozzarella, cheese, and baby plum tomatoes. We also enjoyed a few ice cold glasses of beer with our meal. We received our food quickly, within about 10 minutes of ordering it. We were seated at a nice table next to the window, which gave us a great view of the sky and the outside seating area. The "four season" pizza was a delicious and flavorful combination of toppings. The artichokes were perfectly roasted, and the anchovies added a nice umami flavor to the pizza. The "Philly cheesesteak" pizza was also excellent. The steak was tender and juicy, and the chimichurri dressing added a nice tanginess to the pizza. We were very impressed with the service at Wildwood Canterbury. Our server was attentive and friendly, and he made sure that we had everything we needed. We were also impressed with the speed of the service. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Wildwood Canterbury. The food was excellent, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We would definitely recommend Wildwood to anyone looking for a great Italian dining experience

Visited this comfortable and friendly restaurant twice during the period 11th-13th September. Both meals were beautifully cooked ( Calzone/Lasagne) and good sized portions. They were served with entusiasm and a friendly smile even when very busy on second visit . Value for money for such good food. Was surprised to discover after that this was part of a restaurant chain as it felt like a family run establishment.

מסעדה נחמדה ויפה במיקום מרכזי. היינו זוג וחלקנו תפריט צהריים. לחם עם עגבניות ופסטו שהיה בעצם מעין פיצה קטנה שחולקה לחתיכות. לאזניה שהיתה מצוינת והוגשה בטמפרטורה מדויקת ולקינוח טירמיסו טעים מאד. השירות היה טוב אך רצוי שהצוות יהיה קשוב יותר. היה נעים וטעים בדיל מאד משתלם. מומלץ מאד!

Staff needs training, I was given the receipt to pay and I was in a slight rush. Politely asked two staff to bring the card machine but this took 10 minutes.. food was okay but the lack of awareness really frustrated me.

Such an enjoyable evening. We started with the antipasto platter and then had a delicious vegetable pizza. As good as anything we've had in Italy. Thank you.

Went on a sunday for lunch and absolutely loved it. Big terrace out the back which was a nice surprise. Friendly waitress service and fast turnaround of our order. I had mushroom burger for main and affogato for dessert. Delicious!!

Excellent hospitality, felt very welcomed. We usually dine at any Italian restaurant on my wedding anniversary and for this year chose wildwood on visiting Canterbury. We did not book table in advance as we were there by 5 30pm. Alfie and Christiana were very polite. Pizza and Pasta were amazing. They have quite a few vegetarian & vegan options. Nice atmosphere. Would recommend.

I visited this restaurant today with my family and was extremely disappointed when the manager told my child to “sit down” after giving us our menus. Both my young children are neurodivergent and suffer from difficulties with food. Eating out with them is a very stressful experience but we are trying to increase their exposure to different environments. We had to move between and indoor and outdoor tables a couple of times until the children felt comfortable with where to sit. They are both sensory seekers - unfamiliar sights, smells, sounds all contribute to disrupting their nervous system. They were disregulated for these reasons. Like a cat will go in circles over and over again before settling down to sit, my children will stim. A vestibular stim involves movement to regulate the nervous system. My four-year-old was doing this by standing on the padded bench - but his shoes were off so this was causing no damage. On the way out I asked a waitress who the duty manager was and she pointed to the man who had seated us and made this comment. I addressed him and explained my children’s needs as well as my disappointment that I shouldn’t have to announce them and it was not appropriate for a member of staff to tell a customer’s child to sit down. He said he was concerned he would fall and there were steak knives on the table. If this was the case, why did he not remove the knives? Why did he not say it was a safety issue at the time? Additionally he should have addressed us, the parents, and warned us of his concerns or at least spoken kindly to with at least a “please could you sit down/be careful" to the child and explained to them why he was making this demand. Children are not like dogs who can be told to sit and they will do so. Such a shame that a restaurant which promotes itself as being family-friendly, with a good menu choice for children, doesn’t train staff in how to make families feel welcome.

Situated in a beautiful period building on Canterburys high street, adjacent to the beautiful river. The staff we lovely made sure we and our baby were comfortable, that our food was good, and that we had everything we needed. The food was delicious we had the margherita and the sea and mountain which were very big! We also shared the carbonara and it was yummy! Thank you to the very kind and attentive staff members!!!

Il locale è certo turistico, ma molto, se non caratteristico, almeno originale e carino. Il personale è cortese e il cibo buono, con un menù centrato su panini e carne, come d'uso per questo tipo di locali in Inghilterra. Prezzi ragionevoli ma servizio un po' lento. Nel complesso, non sfigura affatto nel mare di ristoranti e locali del centro di Canterbury

Sat in the garden in the early pm and its a wonderful setting, great service from Liam who made my mum's birthday one to remember and food amazing and rapid, the portions are well worth the money, we will be back again and again

On a day trip to Canterbury, we stopped in at the Wildwood Grill for lunch. It was a lovely experience! We were seated in a cozy upstairs space and Maria, our server, was kind and attentive. The food was amazing! Would highly recommend for a delightful meal while visiting Canterbury!

Sunny outdoor dining, with a chilled social area by the River Stour. Would definitely recommend their Mojitos on a warm day, I had the chicken and asparagus risotto whilst my friends had the linguine which we really enjoyed!

Great food. Good menu. Staff friendly. Unfortunately, our side dishes seemed to have been forgotten when our mains were served. Had to ask for them, so we had nearly finished our mains before the side dishes arrived.

Popped in with family before going to theatre while walking past. Can only say really glad we sit. Staff were really friendly and the food was outstanding. Had the Philly Steak pizza as not tried before. When it came couldn't believe the size as just seemed so big however the taste was just amazing, the base so light and flavours just perfect that soon found I'd eaten the whole thing. If you get a chance I'd definitely recommend for a truly authentic pizza.

There is a good selection of pasta and pizza dishes to choose from. Loved my pasta, very well balanced flavours. They seemed to be a busy restaurant, so it is recommended to book a table. The restaurant is situated in an old building in Canterbury. The charm of low ceilings, mind your head everywhere and tilted floors. The food was okay, nothing out of the ordinary but well prepared. They have a wide variety of dishes, from pizza and pasta to salads and burgers. I've had the chicken burger. For the price, you would expect to get fries or some salad included, but unfortunately nothing. Just the burger. Service was friendly. There are better restaurants in Canterbury, but also worse.

I have visited Canterbury for a day with my partner and his parents. We have struggled to find a place to eat, which allowed dogs. However, even though this restaurant does not allow dogs, as it was a quiet night due to a bad weather, they have allowed us to dine in inside with our dog! I am glad I was able to experience the food at this restaurant! Everything I have ordered, I have really enjoyed. I strongly recommend a tomato and pepper soup and any pizza . Portions were big and prices not too high. Service was also excellent. Overall, I have enjoyed my visit and when I’m in Canterbury again I am hoping to pay a visit to this restaurant.

Waited an hour and a half for starters. Went for the Christmas meal in a big group with pre selected courses. The whole meal took about 5 hours. Ridiculous, they also messed up the pricing at the end and couldn't explain what the change was from.

Out with my parents deciding where to eat. Chose Wildwood. We were sat next to the only other table in there. The waitress didn’t even acknowledge us. Just kept speaking Italian to the other couple. We decided what we wanted but no order came. She was within ear shot of us. We decided to leave because of the appalling service. Wanted to give 0 stars to be honest.

My wife and I had an amazing experience dining at Wildwood Canterbury on Valentine's Day. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the cozy atmosphere set the perfect mood for a romantic evening. We started our meal with the delicious calamari, which was cooked to perfection. For our main course, I ordered the steak and my wife had the Caesar salad. The steak was incredibly flavorful and the portion was generous, while the salad was fresh and delicious. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. We also enjoyed two glasses of wine that were expertly paired with our meal. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic dining experience. The staff and chef did an amazing job, and we can't wait to visit again!

Went with a friend after The King & I at the Marlowe. A very good experience in the Canterbury branch. Food was lovely. We will book again. Heather served us most of the time. She was very friendly & deserves a mention. However, the barcode on our bill to scan did not pick up on my phone to send me to the link? This is why I have done this review instead.
