Driver was excellent, the restaurant was late, but all turned up hot!!!

Service was mediocre and not deserving of the default (unnecessary and always unpleasant surprise) service 10% added to the bill. Food was ok but not up to the prices.

It was my first time in Canterbury. We were just walking around, looking for a place to eat, and Wildwood immediately caught our attention. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We ordered Classic Spaghetti Pomodoro with chicken, Margherita Pizza, and risotto — everything looked amazing and tasted even better! Portions were generous, presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were fresh and delicious. The service was friendly and fast. Definitely a wonderful experience — we will come back again!

We popped in for lunch and overall, it was a good experience. The food was fantastic, great taste and presentation. The atmosphere was lovely. Service was friendly, but it did take a while for our food to arrive and for the orders to be taken (only 1 wait staff for the lower floor section).

Have been at this place recently with my mom and liked this place. Food was tasty and was looking beautiful. Will visit again, when next time will go to the restaurant.

Fantastic place. Staff very welcoming. The food here was fantastic, there was a wide choice suitable for all tastes. Including gluten free, and vegan. We had fish cake starters, beautifully cooked poached egg, followed by a perfectly cooked pasta dish and a chicken burger. The dishes were beautifully presented, and tasted just as good. The atmosphere is cozy with plenty of room.

I recently popped in for a meal, and it was absolutely brilliant! The food was top-notch, especially the cheese arancini and the succulent raspberry Eton mess. The service was super friendly; they welcomed us warmly, checked in on our meal, and sent us off with a smile. The atmosphere was just perfect, making for a lovely evening out. I can't wait to come back!

Excellent service with a smile. We ate off the lunch menu for over 60's, fantastic value. The fishcake starter had a perfectly poached egg very tasty, chicken burger was soft and flavoursome not the usual dry offering. Lighter option salad side dish better than some main meal salads I've been served and the pasta perfectly aldente. Would recommend this restaurant a hidden gem. Cozy ambience.

We had a great dining experience yesterday at Wildwood Canterbury. The food was great, the atmosphere was pleasant and the staff was friendly. I would highly recommend their thin crust large pizzas and garlic bread. Large portion sizes and nicely done.

The food was incredible and our waitress was very helpful and we had a lovely chat! Unfortunately I can’t remember her name but she was very nice. Our only complaint was how loud it was, we could hear our neighbours convo and they could hear ours!

We have been to Wildwood in Canterbury a few times and always have a great time. The food is always wonderful, myself and my partner are Vegan and there are plenty of options. The Vegan lasagne is our go to. I tried the Vegan Funghi pizza this time and it was great! I would recommend it. The olives and caramelised onion garlic bread are also delicious. Faith has been our server a few times and is fab - very attentive and knowledgeable. Would recommend for a quick bite at lunch/dinner or a celebration. Looking forward to our next visit!

Nice enough place, well situated on a pedestrian street. Pizzas were seriously underwhelming though - not poor enough to complain about but one to avoid if you're looking for decent pizza!

The Canterbury branch truly exceeded our expectations. The service was outstanding: friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food was beyond good; every dish we ordered was spot on. Highly recommend the truffle fries, chicken, seafood risotto, and lasagne, each one packed with flavor and beautifully presented. Everyone in our group was happy with their meal. Top-notch hospitality and a great dining experience overall. We'll definitely be back!

I had an amazing meal recently and can't recommend this place enough! The Prawn & Courgette Linguine was absolutely delicious—plenty of prawns and perfectly presented. The service was top-notch, with the staff greeting us warmly and making sure we were enjoying everything. Plus, the atmosphere was just right for a relaxing evening. Came in today with my boyfriend, and everything was brilliant from the get-go. Holly served us at the door and she just made us feel so welcome and was so professional. Brilliant manager! Props to her!

Would score 0 if I could. Won't be going back. We booked. You gave us the worst table in the sun. We were regulars under issy. The new manager needs retraining firing or both. Not going back. Disgusting treatment of an old lady. For her to walk out must have been bad. We booked for 2 hrs. Not a great way to treat former regulars. No customer service skills for a manager.

Dropped in on a Friday lunchtime as a solo diner, it was quiet but that doesn't mean service lacked. The team serving were fantastic, with someone new being trained too, who was picking all up quickly. The food was amazing, and completely took by suprise. It's an unassuming look from outside, but once in, seated, and food arrives, it really is great. Really do recommend this for genuine Italian style cooking, with food that is amazingly cooked! I had a starter and main, with limoncello (not on menu?) and all dishes were perfect. I wish I lived closer, but if I'm ever back in the area I will be back. Thankyou all for a great lunch.

Nice friendly and value for money

We arrived without a booking for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and they were able to seat us upstairs as we had a big group. Felt like we had our own private dining. We all opted for the 2 and 3 course lunch menus. Soup of the day was cauliflower soup. Majority of us had the fishcake for the starter. The rosemary garlic bread had a nice texture, but there was too much herbs on it. For drinks, I had a tropical fruit cooler mocktail, it was a bit too sweet for my liking. The kiwi and mint mocktail was nicer. For the mains, I chose the lighter option of having a smaller portion of pasta which comes with a salad. It was enough to eat. I chose the spaghetti bolognese. For some reason, the children’s portion came with cheese but not the adults. We ordered desserts too as we saw reviews about the sticky toffee pudding. This cake was very soft and moist. Food wise, it was ok - nice, simple, and healthy lunch. Service was good as staff were friendly. Downstairs toilet is small, the one upstairs is better. We found out the lunch menu was actually not available on the weekend, but we were allowed to order from it. Luckily they allowed us to have the same rate in the end.

We had a warm welcome.The drinks and food came with a smile and we didn't have to wait long.

Don't stick a couple on a table tucked away and then ignore them the rest of the night and then automatically charge a service charge. Refused to pay a service charge for sub standard service and based purely on this presumptuous charge I wouldnt return and certainly wouldn't recommend it as a restaurant no matter how good the food. There are far better Italian restaurants in Canterbury who don't automatically add a service charge and yet their service is amazing and deserve the tip they get.

Just had a fab dinner, and everything was spot on! The tiger prawns and spaghetti carbonara were delicious, both in taste and presentation. The staff were super friendly, making me feel right at home, and the service was impressively quick. If you're looking for a great meal in a lovely atmosphere, this place is a must-visit! I'll definitely be back for more.

Highly recommend great food and service

Didn’t start well when the young girl at the bar looked up then carried on what she was doing without saying a word to us. We moved towards the restaurant with my elderly father in law who had already walked too far only to be told “you can’t stand there you’ll be in the way- we left, plenty of other places to eat in Canterbury, shall not be returning.

The service was top-notch; and Holly greeted us warmly and made sure we were enjoying every moment. I just had an incredible dining experience! The food was top-notch, especially the Bucatini alla norma and those tiger prawns—just wow on the taste and presentation. Service was spot-on too; I felt welcomed from start to finish, and the staff went above and beyond. Everything from the cleanliness to the atmosphere was perfect, making it an all-round great night out. Can't wait to return!

We just walked in this afternoon 6 of us no booking and Isabel and the staff were rushed off their feet but she was amazing and accommodated us. Two chefs working who were brilliant. Well done.

Isabel the manager made us welcome when we turned up on a Saturday evening with no booking. 4 ladies who was looking for a couple of drinks and a light bite to eat. We had tried several other restaurants and had been turned away quite rudely. The manager gave us a warm welcome moved tablets around and served us drinks and food. The garlic bread was delicious with the red onions.. would definitely recommend. I must say staff were all lovely. We will book next time. We left to catch our train home and then I realised I had left my shopping bag under the table .I phoned when I got home and the lovely manger told me they found it as soon as we left and had put safely in the office for collection when we return. Thank you for your hospitality and honesty

Great restaurant with very friendly service. The food was also very good. The starter of baked camembert with garlic bread is highly recommended. Very tasty, we made it at home. Pizzas were also very good.

We had a great time here for my birthday! We were staying in Canterbury for the weekend and happened to walk past, after searching the reviews we had to try it. The gluten free pizza and pasta was some of the best I’ve had. They even brought over a baked gluten free cookie with a candle in it for dessert, which was so so delicious. We had a wonderful, attentive waiter and the food arrived promptly! So good we came back the next day for lunch!

My wife and I came here for a meal for our 25th wedding anniversary while visiting Canterbury. The staff were so lovely and made it so special for us. Our server (Alexa) went above and beyond, but, all staff made our meal so special and thanking them is not enough to say what it meant to make our evening. Thankyou all so much, it was very special. Lovely experience at Wildwood Canterbury. Beautiful listed building but not very accessible. Food was fantastic, great vegan options! Lovely drinks and great service. Our host Yemi was really nice and very helpful, thank you to them! All the staff we communicated with provided great service. We thoroughly enjoyed our time dining in for a three course meal. Awful tuna steak . It was pale , not seared at all , tasted of nothing, and had the most awful texture .The dish didn't come with any sauce. Staff were lovely and changed my dish to another.

We dined here on two consecutive evenings. The staff were very pleasant and attentive.The restaurant was clean with a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Over our two visits we had soup, spaghetti Bolognaise, Pizza and various desserts. The food was pleasant and portion size reasonable, though lacked a little finesse such as rocket on the pizza and other finishing touches. Authentic Italian cuisine - no - but an acceptable meal at just about a reasonable price in comparison to other eateries in the vicinity.

Nice enough place but without any personality. It has a small terrace at the bottom. If you are tired of eating in a typical pub, lunch or dinner here is a good option. The portions are correct, the pizzas, although not the best, are not bad and they have We have been there well. dishes for children. They don't have much variety of beers. The service is quite attentive and diligent.

I ordered the pasta BUFFALO MOZZARELLA BUCATINI. It was really delicious, so I can only recommend it. The service was also great. Everything happened extremely quickly. A clear further recommendation.

Such a poorly restaurant that my young kids desperate needed to use the toilet and I havr asked kindky if my children can go to use and told me no they are not allowed because you are nit a customer and the toilet paper is not free I have never head such a thing in uk and not allowing childrens to use the toilet what harm is this and telling me that toilet tissue is not free

Reasonable restaurant in the center of Canterbury. The menu is varied. The food is fine, but unfortunately not always hot. The service is friendly. We sat near the toilet and I don't recommend that.

Seafood linguine too spicy over powered the food. Friends risotto the same. Overpriced disappointed. Will not return again

While the food at wild wood is excellent, I cannot recommend this restaurant due to the dreadful service. It’s disappointing to see such great culinary talent being undermined by a front-of-house team that clearly doesn’t care about customer experience. If you’re planning to visit, be prepared for delicious dishes but brace yourself for the worst service you might encounter.

Took my son for lunch as we had a voucher for kids eats a for a £1 for summer holidays. Great deal and I'm not knocking it . Service was ok, however the pizza was hard, dough did not seem fresh and barely any cheese. We both had Margaritas. Great saving but I guess you get what you pay for. Wouldn't bother going again.

There are set meals on weekdays The set meal is really a good deal Three sets for only 16.95 It’s worth it and the food is delicious Pay special attention to the bill when checking out, because the set menu is set by the clerk himself, so be sure to check whether desserts are included in the set meal!

We had a great lunch there. A welcome change from some of the chains and dark interiors or the charm of a fastfood restaurant. Attentive staff, nice food, reasonable prices at lunchtime. The mint icecream was lovely. The espresso could be a lot hotter, but we enjoyed ourselves. Lovely menu design and great interior as well. We will be back!!

Overall the location a the food was lovely. However the staff were so unfriendly and rude. Could’ve been because it was busy but genuinely the service was very slow and they was very rude. The food was great tho.

Don't be fooled by the outside of this great restaurant. Go inside and you won't be disappointed. The service on our visit was very good, as were the meals . Just for info, they do take the blue light card. There is a garden area too. We are going back soon.

We ordered take out online from Wildwood. There was no system on their website to let you know when your food was ready (no estimated time and the progress bar did not work). By the time we got to the restaurant our pizzas had been sitting and were cold. This would not have been a serious issue had the food been good. We ordered two pizza's. Both were underwhelming. Chewy dough, weak flavours. I would compare the pizza with a cheaper takeaway pizza chain. We were generally disappointed. I will probably try their dine in service to see if that might be more enjoyable. Edit: The restaurant reached out to apologize and rectify the issues. Great service in this regard.

A very nice restaurant and very polite waiters….my food came later and the manager took it off the bill on his own initiative….I never expected it…..we can only recommend it…..Great food and just a great evening

This is my " myst go to " restaurant whenever I am in Canterbury(which is mist weeks!) Atmosphere, service, and food are excellent.

We had a disappointing experience from Wildwood last time I ordered, however I thought I would give them a second chance. Never again, the pizza is like cardboard, dry with a tasteless tomato puree on top and minimal goats cheese, avoid, there are much better pizza deliveries in Canterbury.

The pizzas were greasy and arrived tepid. I was not impressed as I was hoping for an authentic Italian experience.

Do you really call this pizza? Well, it’s not. The service is good and the place looks nice.

Extremely small portion for the Caesar Salad. 8 lettuce leafs, one anchovy, 5 croutons. £15. Calamari was cold, chewy and falling apart. It is a shame when a restaurant leaves you so disappointed but this one is a big no from me sorry.

Wildwood has been a favourite of mine since attending university in Canterbury from 2016 until 2019, so naturally I bring everyone who is visiting Canterbury with me here. I am not one who normally leaves reviews but felt compelled to re-activate my Google account to leave a review of my experience yesterday when I brought my visiting American family for a meal. The staff were exceptional, kind, humorous, and able to put up with my Mother! Whoever was working the afternoon were such a delight - dark & short-haired gentleman, dark-haired, shoulder length-haired woman who was mainly behind the bar, and another gent with short hair wearing white top and (I believe) grey plaid trousers. They really made the experience a good one and left us walking away laughing with good memories. The food was very delicious too (as always) - the lunch offering was a real bargain. Thanks for a great time!

Really lovely atmosphere for a date night. Drinks were good, food was amazing and the barman is 10/10 smashable. Manager also so hot and professional. Would definitely come back.

We ate at Wildwood this evening and are very happy we chose to book our meal there. It’s a lovely restaurant in a beautiful old building which has been renovated to a great standard. The atmosphere is great, background music was on but at just the right level to not bother whilst chatting and eating. We cannot fault anything. The food was amazing, the service was fantastic, Maisie, our waitress was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and that everything was ok. Price was actually what I would consider too cheap for how good everything was. Would like to come back again before we leave. If you’re in Canterbury treat yourself and have a meal here.

Booked lunch for the afternoon, service was great but sadly the food was very disappointing. My buttermilk chicken burger was chewy, and smelt of old oil, the salad in bun was wilted and hardly there, the calamari was burnt, frozen. It's a shame that most of what we ate was possibly frozen. The service was great and therefore we didn't complain. It's a shame eaten there a few times before and always happy.

Had a lovely meal pizza was really nice, the fries were pretty good also, I had rosemary garlic bread, it comes with 3 pieces but the bottom one was submerged in oil, the staff were very friendly it was abit busy but I felt like we was waiting a long time for anyone to see us or when we was waiting for food But overall I would still go back!
