Popped in on the off chance on Saturday night and got a table. The man serving was very hospitable and knowledgeable about the food. And when it arrived.. it was a feast! Left with a box of leftovers and very content tums. Still full and planning to return.

Booked this restaurant for dinner on Fruday night as the reviews were really good. The place was empty and we were the only customers in there. Had to pay £12 to book so deciddd to go in anyway. The food was mediocre at best. The pulled pork was ok but the beef brisket was awful. Strips of chewy flavourless meat - not the chunks of melt in the mouth beef we were expecting. Also had to tell the staff that they had one Christmas song continuously on repeat. Very disappointing experience considering how many lovely restaurants there are in Whitstable

We’d often smelt wondrous things from this place but this was our first time we couldn’t say no so and decided on a post-pub takeaway. Wasn’t busy but this place thrives on deliveries and we were about to see why. A lovely greeting, order taken and very kindly a couple of freebies thrown on top! I could do this whole review on the seasoned fries and the extra wedges that were kindly thrown in!! The fries were seasoned perfectly with the house rub were super crispy…. But the wedges were even crispier and flavourful - delicious!! Still on sides (!) the Mac and Cheese too lovely, creamy, delicious and the sprinkles on top a great addition!! We’d order the Gig Rib and it delivered- a huge thing enough for both of us - super moist and tasty and the perfect sweet/savory/smoky balance - delightful!! We’d also been kindly provided a few of the sticky ribs which is arguably the reason I’m writing this review freezing, in a tent, camped outside their front door waiting for them to open and shovel the sticky ribs into my mouth! Fell off the bone - somehow offering but moistness and the satisfying primal teeth grab I want from a rib! Coming back for these alone? Just try and stop me!!! Hidden in plain sight - this is a must for BBQ lovers and trialists alike! A delicious and super-friendly experience all round!!

This a place where your eyes are going to be bigger than your stomach, all the meat was done to perfection. Though it has made me realise I can not eat like I used to. Portion sizes are massive,customer service was lovely. 10/10 would come back.

Booked to come on a Saturday evening for our first night away in 6 years without children. On arrival there was no greeting when we came into the restaurant. We hung around the incredibly awkward front door with minimal space to move. When the waitress approached us, we let her know our name and reservation and was offered two tables of two. Both with absolutely no room to move inbetween other tables. Took ten minutes to have the menus brought over, and a further 10 minutes to order which was absolutely fine. When we did order, at the point, the waitress decided to let us know our choices of food wasn’t available. So we ended up ordering one starter for my partner and 2 mains. At this point, we was ready to leave and retract our order, but both was absolutely starving and didn’t want this ruining our evening. Starter never arrived, mains arrived and was edible, but flavour was very minimal and disappointing considering the hype of the place and the price. Once we finished eating, we asked for the bill. Bill arrived with the starter still on the bill And we explained we never received starter and for it to be taken off. No apologies, just whipped fhe bill off the table and changed it. Waitress was rude the entire way through. No acknowledgement or manners. Really just felt like that her tip was already included in the bill and so the need for basic friendliness and manners wasn’t necessary. We payed in cash and even asked if we wanted the change! Will never go back here. Would avoid at all costs

Incredible food!!! In the last year I've been to California, Texas and New Mexico and this is the best BBQ I've had by far!!!! Will definitely be back!!!!

£30 worth of food left off the order, told to claim a refund through just eat- the customer service is as good as the food, 1 star abysmal. If you want decent BBQ come to my house and I’ll cook for you. You could buy this rubbish in a packet at M&S.

*edit to respond I mentioned price because it should match the quality of food. Yours does not. I mentioned that some of the food was bad so don't tell me it's a price issue when I gave feedback on every item. For example, Your pork chop thing is not bad because it is expensive, it is bad because it was tasteless, the exterior is like leather, and the inside was like biting a stick of lard initial review: We went in for the "bottomless BBQ" and had an unpleasant experience. For £28 pounds per person you get a platter of BBQ. Sides are all extra (about £6 each) which surprised be because £28 a head is already a LOT of money, especially as you are only allowed the bottomless offer for "1 hour" starting from your booking time. Bear in mind the food took 10-15 minutes to come out so this is in fact 45 minutes of bottomless BBQ. Here's what we thought of each item Ribs - I think there were two types - smaller and larger. The small was actually very good. We could really taste the smoke on them even if there wasn't a huge amount of meat on them. The larger type were quite grisly and not particularly flavorful. Chicken - Chicken thigh was one of the best things on the platter. A little smokey and very juicy and moist. Chicken wings were a bit naff in terms of flavour and not much meat on them but that's the chicken's fault not the restaurant. Pulled pork - was absolutely fine. It was standard middle of the road restaurant quality which was only a disappointment as we expected better from a BBQ restaurant. pork chop thing - I have no idea what this was but it was nasty. It was like somewhere between pork belly fat and crackling but the fat was flavourless and quite cold so didn't exactly melt in your mouth and the exterior was incredible tough - like needed a steak knife tough. Coleslaw - was darn good. Fresh and tasty. The bad thing about it is that it was one of the best items on a meat platter. Beans - dreadful. bordering on flavourless and I suspect undercooked. Also, they were barely above room temperature. Cornbread - nope. Dry, crumbly like a 3 day old Victoria sponge. Pretty flavorless too. I also prefer cornbread warm but that's entirely subjective. Also, nothing was hotter than lukearm and the front door was propped open on a cold day so anything that had a touch of warmth didn't for long. After we finished the platter we were asked if we wanted another one but that for every 100g of waste left on the platter we would be charged £5. I get the need to deter people wasting food, but like, what?? With how much gristle and bone we ended up with after the first platter how is this enforceable? So it's a bottomless BBQ for 45 minutes with (mostly) under seasoned and tepid food but god help you if you don't finish it. What a lovely experience for £28 per person - not including sides, dips or drinks of course. Just bizarre. Honestly with the temperature, flavour, and quality of the meat it felt like eating someone elses leftovers. Suggestions: *more butter or buttermilk in the cornbread to help it stay moist. upgrade it to jalapeno cornbread which is pretty easy to make. *get food to the table warm if not hot. *Sort the horrendous pricing out. Either drop it or include a choice of 1 large side per platter and 1 dip. *Take whatever that pork slab was off the platter or make some major changes to the recipe. *Sort the beans out. Cook them for longer in more seasoning and maybe do an upgraded alternative with burnt ends. *Keep the door shut on a cold day. Keep the heat in and the flies out. *Have think about your bottomless rules. If you are hell bent on the 1 hour limit then it needs to be from food arriving. The waste rule thing needs some serious thought too because its odd. *Consider a more flexible platter because there was a lot on there I didn't enjoy. What about If you (or the server) had a little print out with checkboxes for each item that you say if you want or not. That'll help keep the waste down and ensure everyone enjoys their platter more. I will not be either returning or recommending this establishment.

My boyfriend took me to street kings for my birthday yesterday. We looked at the menu beforehand and we're so excited to eat there. When we arrived I'll admit it was smaller than I thought it would be. But this actually made for one of the best dining out experiences I've ever had. The food was BANGING. Meat was tender and everything was flavourful. It was just sublime!! But that wasn't even the best thing about the place. You can really tell the chef, Adam, cares about what he does and it shows on the plate. The food's cooked with love for sure. He came out at the end of my meal to wish me a happy birthday and gave me his signature smoked brownie for dessert. Omg guys. Best brownie ever. He told us how he'd perfected it and I loved his passion. The waitress, Sophie, is a pure delight. I chatted to her after my meal and I honestly felt like we were at a friend's house for dinner. The place is so intimate and relaxed. With soul music playing made it was a super chilled and enjoyable evening. I cannot wait to go back. What a little gem. Amazing food and atmosphere and happy staff. ❤️

We had a Sunday bottomless brunch for 3 people. The waitress was very friendly but did seem stressed. The chef was very friendly and happy to supply more and more food and was great with one of the kids on a neighboring table. The food was delicious and we certainly left satisfied. Slightly disappointed that when they opened at 12pm and our booking was 12.30 there wasn't any brisket available, something we were very excited for. The restaurant is very small and they have as many tables as physically possible in there however this does mean it isn't wheelchair friendly. Overall a satisfying visit.

Amazing food with even better service! There is something to be said for smaller restaurants, you just can’t beat the personal service you get. Adam de-boned chicken for our son without being asked, Cassie interacted with our son and made sure that he had water without being asked. The spicy bbq sauce is UNBELIEVABLE! So good, we wished that you sold it by the bottle! We will absolutely be back and will be recommending to others!

What an amazing, excellently executed experience in the heart of Whitstable. Great portions of well spiced sucellent meats that will leave your taste buds tingeling. Grab a table whilst you can!

Only just edible. All undercooked with no flavour and very dry, especially the pulled pork. Coleslaw disgusting, corn bread dry, beans OK.

Sorry but hands down worst “professional” bbq I’ve ever had. I normally don’t leave bad reviews, I just don’t go back but we travelled quite a distance for this and I wouldn’t want others to do the same thinking they will get proper pit smoked bbq. I can only assume that the people giving good reviews for the food have never had proper bbq before. Pork belly: no smoke or much flavour in general and fat wasn’t rendered so very fatty and chewy. Wings: same as you can get from any pub restaurant. Pulled pork: couldn’t taste smoke and very dry, hard to eat. Corn bread: tasted perfect but was also too dry to eat. Very thin selection of drinks even! Wasn’t expecting competition pitmaster bbq but unfortunately they haven’t even got the basics right.

Had really high hopes but was disappointed. Small portions, sad excuse for brisket. Chicken was nicely cooked and seasoned but very expensive for 2 thighs and a side for £17. Very overpriced and poor quality and boiling inside!

Everything was absolutely delicious. We come here every year and the service is always top tier. The meat is juicy and tender and the seasoned chips are to die for. The mac and cheese is amazing as always. Sophia is so kind and cheerful. Would definitely recommend 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

Sophia was lovely, polite and well versed in the menu. Great music and the food was tasty. I had the Mac n cheese with brisket. The brisket was soft and juicy. I also had the BBQ chicken wings. Also tasty and meat came off the bone nicely.

Not one to write reviews but quite disappointed over the service we received from the FOH staff on Saturday. Firstly, I’d like to say the food was excellent and I cannot fault it, really enjoyed it. When we arrived, just turned up and sort of sat down, wasn’t really greeted I even asked the staff member if she knew I’d had a reservation to which she replied with “yeah your Daniel Russell” which was booked under Danny as that is my name but it doesn’t really bother me but attention to detail was very much lacking within the first 3 minutes. Then we received the menu, all was good, my partner asked to remove the crazy but optional 12.5% service charge & said “we would like to give our own tip in cash” the staff member who was stunned at this remark but agreed. When we received our drinks they were slammed down with no comment, then our starter came, which sat there for 2-3 minutes because we wasn’t issued cutlery or napkins to which the staff member said “sorry, I got distracted” which is surprising as there was only 4 people in including myself and partner. I finished my drink after my starter but was never offered another throughout the my time there. Then came my main course which was missing my coleslaw which I had to grab who I assume the chef was on his way back to the kitchen who grabbed it for me straight away and also came out and asked how everything was which was unexpected but appreciated as the FOH member had not really spoke to us once since we took the service charge off. We also tidied our plates and glasses so it was easy for them to take away, but wasn’t thanked, I know I didn’t have to do it but most people appreciate it but each to their own🤷🏻‍♂️. It came to payment the bill was £56 (£12 booking fee included) my partner paid a £6.50 tip which was generous considering the service but was more for the appreciation of the food. Not a Karen, but I don’t not believe in a service charge for doing your job, it’s more for going above the minimum standard. Which for the FOH side of things they did not do especially as it was quiet. Chefs on the other hand deserved every penny.

Food was okay, not particularly moist or groundbreaking, chicken wings very salty. I wouldn't particularly say it's better than other reasonably priced smokehouses. Service was clunky and not very slick at all. The actual eating area is tiny and very cramped. I wouldn't recommend but the rest of the reviews indicate it might have been an off day.

Came for the bottomless Sunday BBQ and it was fab. Will have to come back for more. Really lovely friendly staff, clean and beautiful food. What a gem!

My first order to this restaurant to see what it was like. Delicious meat! Unfortunately the two open cups of sauce ordered were on their sides and by the time I got from the front door to the kitchen, the bottom of the bag gave way. My trousers and cat also experienced the meal! Thought you might like to know. Anita T

Had the King's Taster with 2 sides, was easily enough to feed 3 of us. Great tasting slow cooked selection of smoked meats, falling apart on the plate. Would have gone down even better with some craft beer, only lager on the menu on our visit. Highly recommended.

Recommend this place 100%. 10/10!! We had prepaid a deposit for the Sunday BBQ- All you can eat. We were unfortunately late for our booking time but they accommodated us- giving us a later time. Which we appreciate so much. Jordan who served us was very efficient and friendly- despite us being late. We were seated and seen straight away. Drinks and menu given. The BBQ option was £28 each, that includes everything in the photo- and you can order even more afterwards. And we also ordered chips for an extra £5. Drinks are also an extra price. There are other side orders such as brisket and mac and cheese that we could have ordered too. Food was DELICIOUS!! I especially loved the pulled pork and the chicken. Food was hot and very flavourful. Maybe we could have asked but we had hoped they’d have a mix of different BBQ sauce style option's to go with our meal. ( For example: Sweet, Chipotle, Smoky or spicy) Restaurant is comfortable and has a nice atmosphere. Again, 100% recommend!!

We went for an all you can eat lunch. Cost £28 a heads without add-ons which seems reasonable, I don't think most people would eat what felt like £28 worth of food though. Also a 12% optional service charge which is steep for the cost of the food already but like I said, optional. Even so, good food, cool little place.

Food was delicious focusing on the meat. Just the right amount of sauce not soaking in it and well smoked not overpowering. Service was spot on very friendly waiter and attentive without being constantly bothering you. The restaurant is small but felt comfy and not on top of each other. We will definitely return. The bottomless brunch is great value!

Came here today as this is on my food bucket list. WOW this did not disappoint , every part had its own fabulous flavours , unlike some places where it’s just the smoked meats this was a while different level INCREDIBLE!!! You can taste every bit , every flavour …Everything was super juicy , not one bit of dry meat ! I will definitely be coming back with our biker friends ! ADD the BRISKET always add the brisket ! Delishhhhh

Had a great meal here. Really fantastic BBQ menu, the pork ribs and chicken were both superb.

Very intimate dining experience. There is seating for 16 and the restaurant is full. Make sure you book or you won't get in. Fantastic service and amazing food. We as a family did the Sunday brunch all you can eat. Do not underestimate the size of the portions. If you order the fries 1 portion between 2 is plenty as a side. There is a charity car park open weekends and school holidays a 30 second walk. You will need to check this.

Have seen their all you can eat Sunday offer and fancied giving it a go, as it was my birthday we booked up well in advance as they give the impression it's hard to get in. Got there for our midday booking to find the place totally empty and for no others to show up for our entire visit. That did not stop the very loud and overbearing music that really should be adjusted if it is that quiet in there. Also it is very small in there and the tables are tiny. Food was really good and enjoyed everything served. Thought the can of Cream Soda close to £4 was a bit steep and having to pay extra for a side of fries or Mac and Cheese a little off but overall OK value. Bill came with my biggest pet hate that will stop me coming back.....a discretionary service charge already added.....makes it awkward to remove so didn't tip any extra. I am the customer and I choose if and how much I want to tip and really don't like this trend. Also we were presented with a QR code to scan and leave a review before we left which would be awkward to stand and do so said I would do it later. Nice enough but not planning on returning.

Unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures of the food but it was incredible, random but a special mention to the chicken! We had the king’s platter and chicken can normally be dry and boring, but it was moist and delicious. The two waitresses were lovely and attentive, and the background music made the atmosphere warm and cosy!

It’s a little place which I quite like but felt under pressure to move on to make space for someone else. Disappointingly our order was taken to a different table, only to be brought to us after the couple had started eating it and realised it wasn’t their order. It was taken away by the chef before I had a chance to say anything. Food was ok, but overall quite an underwhelming experience. Personally I’d have felt a bit embarrassed taking a service charge. I ate at the Korean cowgirl earlier in the week, far superior and no more expensive.

Felt a bit rushed in service as hadn’t even finished my drink and asked if we wanted the bill. Although the beef brisket is delicious bit pricey and basic surroundings.

Food was absolutely amazing and would defiantly recommend the food, the service was quick and efficient . The food was expensive more on the expensive side. Overall very good experience.

Lovely food, portion size is spot on only downsides are price of a can of coke £2.90 and music was a bit loud couldn't have a conversation due to not hearing each other. Other than that definitely worth a visit

I dont usually do reviews but i couldnt pass this one up... Jordan is so lovely, and the food is sensational. Visited with my friend and her toddler... he couldn't eat the seasoned fries and Jordon offered the plain fries without us even asking. I'm telling you, the service is top-notch 👌🏽 and the food cannot be faulted. The flavour, texture and presentation were all on par. I will definitely be visiting again.

Second attempt at trying to get a table for the Sunday bottomless brunch. Food was cracking. Paid the extra for the brisket, which was so worth it. Was dubious about the 1 hour time slot initially but it's ample time as the food comes out promptly. So good to have a decent BBQ joint on our doorstep.

Fantastic smoked bbq meats, everything is so tender and juicy. Highly recommend the kings sharer platter. You can tell how much care, time and effort goes into the amazing dishes they have on offer. Staff are friendly and welcoming, also dog friendly. A small establishment but an absolute powerhouse!

We made a bee line for The Smokeshack after a search online, and it was totally worth it. We had pork belly ribs and juicy smoked brisket, accompanied by mac n cheese, coleslaw, fries and pickles. The meat was generously portioned which made up for the serving size of the fries. The slaw was perfect (not too much mayo) and the pickles an ideal accompaniment. Everything was well seasoned and deliciously flavoured. The flavour of the meat still sings through the smoke and sauce. We had the restaurant to ourselves, which suited us. We went there at 5pm. The meat is smoked at the restaurant, so this is the real deal.

Amazing tasting BBQ - get the sharing platter if it's available. Best tasting BBQ food in Kent!

A selection of good quality, slow cooked smokehouse fare in a small restaurant. Best time to go is 5-6 when the meat has been taken out of the smoker. Late evening customers run the risk of most of the food being sold out.

Spent the day visiting my son in whitstable. We made an excellent choice stopping at Street Kings Smoke Shack. The food was amazing and the service excellent.

A nice, relaxed atmosphere, with friendly service and great food accompanied by a good soundtrack of blues, soul and northern soul.

An unplanned visit for a quick bite to eat was a great decision. We both opted for the 2 course for £24 deal; starter & main. As you’d expect food was largely meat; we had pork belly, chicken wings, pulled pork and beef brisket. All really delicious with the beef outstanding, so tasty & tender. Service was excellent. Jordan is a lovely host. We definitely recommend 👍

The food was amazing. Not in expensive but incredible value for money as the taste was as good as I’ve had even after living in Atlanta. Diffidently worth going to. A word of advice, order and book as once the food has gone that’s it. The brisket is outstanding, which the next table that came in couldn’t order!!

I’ve been wanting to go here for a while, I wasn’t disappointed! Food was great, service excellent and atmosphere at really great. It has only 16 or so seats so I would advise to book. I will be going back to try all the other things. For the excellent quality of the food, it was very well priced. I had the ribs to start and brisket for main both of which were really good portions 😁
