Thursday 16th January 2025 I was visiting Harlech and needed to draw some cash so I went into the Post Office located inside Y gwyllt Snowdonia Cafe to get some. What a gem it turned out to be. My wife bought some wool and then we decided to stay for a most delicious lunch. It also stocks loads of other crafting materials, sweets and cakes amongst many other things. It’s spacious, warm, comfortable and cosy. The staff are amazing, friendly and obliging. Sadly, it is very easily missed being set back from the main road facing the Harlech Castle car park. It's one of the very few places which remains open during the Winter months in Harlech. So, don’t drive or walk past, it’s well worth a visit.

This is great little cafe in a beautiful spot with extremely friendly staff! I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area!

Loved it here! Everyone was lovely and so welcoming. The kitchen was shut when we came so we focussed on the Hot Chocolate and Carrot and Ginger cake… OH MY GOD!!! So amazing!!!!

Stopped in here to grab lunch on the go and got a sandwich and cake, both really delicious. A bit on the expensive side though, but I can tell the ingredients used were quality

Lovely little spot for a nice coffee and some decent cake! Food was wonderful, I had an Italian Grilled Cheese. Staff are friendly and dogs are welcome too. Tucked away in a little corner opposite the castle, would recommend.

Lovely spot next to the castle. The pumpkin spiced latte was lovely and there's plenty of seating outside to view the castle. The dog loved it there!

£50 to feed family what was basically cheap white bread and cheese and some crisps.

Delightful Place! Hidden down the alley opposite the castle, it looks like not much from outside. Inside is a fairytale den of deliciousness. So much to look at and pretty things to buy plus a fabulous menu. Daughter loved her grilled cheese toastie - huge! My greens risotto was so tasty. Really enjoyed ourselves. Such a chilled friendly vibe, we stayed longer than usual with a second drink listening to great relaxed tunes.

Wonderful cosy cafe in a super spot in Harlech. The chicken and pesto toasties are delicious , they come with fresh salad and nachos and the homemade tomato soup was a delight. Fully recommended

Absolute diamond of a place with the most random of seating in the world a cafe with a wool shop and post office. We ordered two barista specials Jaffa cake orange mocha, and a crème brûlée latte which were amazing and two cakes. It was a price you would expect from a seasonal cafe that does a lot of trade in peak holidays. We were there at the end of September and saw one of the pizzas come out it looked amazing.

The only cafe we found in Harlech with a gluten free menu. Pizza, sandwiches, toasted sandwichs. The other places we went in were a flat NO when we asked for gluten free. Fantastic coffee and hot chocolate 👍 Gluten free pizza was amazing 🤩 A lovely setting, free WiFi, good music and a wide variety of things to buy from bath bombs to socks and everything in between. Staff were amazing too 🥰

Wilderniss is a nice location for coffee or lunch , It is a gift shop, post office, wool shop and It s for food and drinks. Very friendly people. It s nearby the Castle. Go to It !!

What a fantastic spot. We had teas/coffees and some lovely cake which filled us up for the afternoon. We did see others having the sandwiches and boy did they look fantastic. A lovely warm welcome from the staff who couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommended.

We were recommended to come here by another cafe while we were looking for vegan options. There were a couple to choose from and we both got the pizza. I can honestly say it was one of the best vegan pizzas I've had, it was so delicious and the base was lovely. I liked that we could add extras on too. If we're ever in this area again, we will definitely call in, gorgeous food, lovely staff and we loved the items for sale in the shop area too.

Had tea with lemon and poppy seed muffin. The muffin was warmed which was lovely. Always will want muffins warmed in future. So nice to seat for ages as well. WiFi was brilliant too. Wished I lived closer.

Charming, cosy spot for a delicious cake, always some (excellent!) gluten free options. Love browsing the wool in the wool shop sharing the space whilst awaiting a coffee. Always accommodating and friendly. Great spot if raining to while away an hour with good coffee and great cake. Dog friendly! We keep coming back.

Wonderful food, vegan risotto was lovely and husbands pizza was fab. Staff lovely and friendly and the decor was perfect for a relaxing experience, nice things to buy in the cafe, crafts and the soap was lovely. I highly recommend you visit.

Over priced average food. Ordered two cups of coffee and one was luke warm. Also had 2 slices of dry tasteless cake. Rip off for over £18 for 2 drinks and 2 slices of cake. Taking advantage of tourists.

Needed to write this review regarding the service we received in the post office shop. The shop assistant was so moody and grumpy and quite frankly she needs to be reminded that holiday makers and visitors to Harlech (regardless where they are from) pay their wages!!! She made a big deal on not being able to pay through the phone (apple pay) and that it would be easier with a bank card, once she realised my partner had a bank card she point blank refused the Apple Pay and said “No we don’t take that payment” which is an absolute lie as a couple of hours earlier I had used that, she gave no eye contact real moody face and certainly won’t be visiting again! The fudge also tasted rubbish and wasn’t cheap! AVOID!!!!!

Great choice to have food if you are visiting the castle. Good food. Warm service. Cozy decor. You can even buy gifts and goodies from this shop while you wait for food. They even have a doggy ice cream (which is just lovely for pet owners).

Took shelter in the cafe on a very windy day and there were multiple hot drink options to warm us up! (Including vegan alternatives)

We felt £6.60 for an americano and and teabag peppermint tea was quite expensive.

Really expensive for what it is. We ordered a breakfast which was served on a narrow wooden plank. The beans and egg were dripping off the edge onto the table, there was no room for anything. It was ridiculous. Food was average.

My husband and myself popped in last week, and I must say we were left extremely disappointed with our breakfast sandwich £6.99 each for a bacon sandwich that was made with cheap cuts of streaky bacon not even proper bacon, the bread wasn't buttered or even cut! Just dumped on a plate. So unfortunately won't be returning again to spend pence off £20 for 2 "bacon sandwiches" and a tea each.

The cafe is OK. The cheese toasty that cost £12 promises a lot but lacks cheese and was OK, certainly not worth the money. The cafe is messy and not very clean, but it did the job on a wet day in Wales.

Shop and cafe selling homemade artifacts as well as icecream. Food was delicious but overpriced for what you get. Service was friendly though.

What a lovely find in Harlech. It's a bit hidden away so you have to keep your eyes peeled. It is just our kind of place, nice relaxed vibe. It had some great vegan lunch options and the kids options were great too! We went back for ice-cream later too.

Stopped off for lunch after visiting Harlech Castle. Cafe seems like a lovely community hub, but a shame about the food. Ordered 3 pizzas. Described as artisan stone baked, but tasted like cheap frozen pizza. Think supermarket budget range, but for £14 a pizza.

I visited Harlech for the castle, but their café was full to overflowing. I decided instead to give the Wilderness Café a try and I'm glad I did. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the atmosphere was inviting and there were tables available to sit. I ordered The Mexicano pizza and a pint of lager (unspecified), and sat down to wait for my food. The pizza was perfect and, although it was a hot day, I didn't mind the hot and spicy nature of the food. All in all a very nice visit and I would highly recommend this place.

Tucked away down an alleyway close to the magnificent Harlech Castle is this gem of a place. More than just a Cafe/ Licenced bar,Ice cream bar/Gift shop/Wool shop and to top It all a Post Office. A one stop destination if you are ever in the area it is a must visit. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and seem to enjoy their roles. They even cater for our furry friends with a range of dog friendly treats available to accompany your meals. The pizza we had for lunch was served with a smile and some banter from our waiter and tasted delicious despite his reservations of having pineapple on it 😀

Perfect spot for lunch, lots of trinkets to look through while you wait too. Highly recommend the homemade soup.... absolutely delicious

Great vegan options that were clearly labeled - we had the pizza (big enough to share between two for lunch, but far too nice to want to share it!) chocolate muffin, and hot chocolates. Really friendly staff, clean, quick service and yummy food. We'll definitely be back!

Very friendly café, post office, craft and gift shop. Stopped off here after visiting the castle, hoping to find a cash machine but found that the post office was open for free cash withdrawal, even on a Sunday. I also bought some wool, and we stopped for a snack. The coffee mugs are so gorgeous that I just had to buy a couple in the shop. Oh, and they're dog friendly

We came here as we didn’t know Harlech and saw this place which looked very cute, filled with lovely little trinkets and fudge and they sell treats for dogs, there’s also a cute little book corner and the food was so nice!

Great atmosphere, food was a smaller selection than most, but very good quality. Sometimes you can have too much choice. Pizza was homemade by look of it. Very friendly welcome and service. Had loads of stuff for sale in the shop, like wool and clothing, sweets and bath bombs and fudge etc Funky decor and better that most. They cleaned the tables when clearing up, which is rare. But I guess its a family business, so they know service counts.. Would recommend.

Service very slow, and prices very expensive. We ordered 2 grilled cheese, which was basically a toasted cheese sandwich with a few nachos and side salad. 2 mugs of tea, came to £29.00. Wow...there's some profit in that....

Cute cafe that also has a wool shop and post office at the back and sells an array of handmade goodies. Dog friendly. The sandwiches come prepackaged in plastic, no garnish. It was a nice sandwich but overpriced for what you get. The kids enjoyed their milkshakes.
