Amazing pub. Great place for everything really - whether its a few drinks with your mates or watching the footy. The DJ on Saturday nights is good too. Keep coming back because there's nowhere else quite like it.

Seriously The BEST Fish & Chips i’ve ever tried. The Fish is so crispy you’ll be dreaming about it. Good beer and Lovely staff. Would definitely recommend!!!!!

Great afternoon at the Wig and pen, for the football. One of Oxfords best pubs! Great lively atmosphere, service was quick, the staff were friendly and professional and the food and drink were top notch. Great they've got so much space and lots of tables. Thanks and see you again!

We had a brilliant night in the pub.. they show sports and have nice staff.. the bouncers were really amazing too when someone caused trouble they jumped straight in to help us and make us safe

Super rude staff. I got a steak that was clearly well done after I ordered it pink, politely asked to change it and they gaslighted me saying it was pink- when clearly wasn’t. Refused to change it. Seating is uncomfortable and getting a waiter to come to ask for anything is impossible

Had steak was cooked perfectly asked for med rare and it was exactly that. Atmosphere is great and a good pint 👍

I ordered a pink steak and they gave a overcooked one and I asked them to change it and they were quite rude and told me they could not do anything and argued with me that it was pink, which was for a fact not true. So I did not enjoy my time here as the waitress were rude specially when I asked them to change my food and did not help me at all

We visited this pub 3 or 4 times for drinks during a recent short stay in Oxford. The staff were friendly and the pub had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We didn't eat there but it became our 'go to' place for a drink when heading out for the evening and the beer and wine was good which is exactly what you want from a pub.

We had an absolutely fantastic day here with Oxford Folk Festival. Thanks for having us!

Ordered a drink said we were going to have food. Paid for drinks and not got told about the lunch deal incl drink. Asked if could include but said no. Food was very mediocre. Steak sandwiches was not what was described and bread was so dry. Crispy mashed potatoes also not crispy. Both beers tasted weird think due to taps not being clean. Very expensive compared to other places visited incl London. Not the best experience.

I went there for dinner on my first evening. Not understanding that I should order at bar, I was waiting. But that was the smallest problem. I ordered a pie. I don't eat peas and I sad that, so I got only mash potato and pie. Nothing to replace peas. OK, fine. Pie was good, though I did not eat it before, so I can't compare. But mash potato was just warmed, and not fresh. Waiter offered me fries when I was ordering, but why would I eat fries with a pie. When I was eating that sad mash potato, I understood. He also forgot to bring me my soda until I reminded him. In addition, there was food on the floor, and it was still early, so there was not too many guests there.

Very little cocktail. Didn't put orange. I don't recommend.

Went there for my birthday and the service was amazing! Even gave me a cake! Love it !!

Popped in for a pint of ale, which was good. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. They were playing oasis music over the sound system, which was a bonus. Overall a great place to visit 😊

The atmosphere is that of a modern open large pub without much soul. The food is OK and reasonably priced. I had a flat iron steak with peppercorn sauce. The steak was tough but I ate most of it. The chips were nice. The Timothy Taylor’s beer was uninspiring with a thin head; although it was clear it had a floaty yeasty residue on the surface (See picture).

Loved this place! Warm decor, food, hospitality including excellent fish & chips (and I'm not a "fish person" but wanted an authentic British meal). Make a reservation to confirm a table, it's busy & rightfully so.

Only had a quick drink, so can't comment on the food.

What a great place to visit with friends whilst in Oxford for the day! Really friendly staff, made time to chat! Good choice of cocktails too and perfect location in the centre. Would definitely recommend if visiting Oxford.

Brilliant range of drinks and really helpful staff with an excellent selection of draught products and wine for a reasonable price for the area. highly recommend the small plate options. Will definitely be back again soon! :)

Visited earlier. The place was freezing! £6.50 for a pint of lager. Won't be going back. I'd want at least the heating on.

Food is good however best thing about the place is the staff flexibility and positive attitude in accommodating guests with toddlers, great job 👏

The pub was nice and we sat at a table that was reserved for 18.30. This was about 17.30. We got removed from the table at 18.00 because they have a policy of giving 30 mins flexibility. I was annoyed that the reserved sign on the table did not say it was reserved for 18.00. The whole point is to communicate the booking to other customers isn’t it? So make it clear. Pub was nice plenty of people eating. Ladies toilets were disgusting. 4 cubicles only 2 with locks and one of those was blocked. I dread to think what the levels of hygiene are like in the kitchen if the toilets are in that state.

This venue has certainly deteriorated in the last few months! Two of us had Abott Ale, only to have to take it back to the bar as it tasted off-we were subsequently told that others had complained the previous day, and it had been anticipated the the barrel had been changed then-obviously not! Two of us had steak pies, one of which was only half edible, all of us had cold plates, peas, and one, cold mash. On complaining, we were told that others had complained about the pies the previous day!! Theres a complacent pattern here of course. Needless to say, we will not be returning for some considerable time!

Very good overall nicely decorated good selection of food for all. Snacks to much larger dishes. Staff very welcoming and helpful.

Really poor food, terrible smell, bang average service. I got the Trio of Fries. Mine came after 40mins while my mates waited 60mins for their nachos. I offered my terrible fries to my friends and they said, I’m starving but I’m not that hungry. A complete rip off, would actively avoid. Edit: they provided a refund which I appreciate

I went there with some friends and there was a minor issue with a drink that got resolved fairly quickly. however the server that gave us our food gave the wrong meal to the wrong person. I ordered a vegetarian meal and my friend took a meat option and he gave the wrong one to each of us. He also had an attitude when giving it to us that just made us feel like he wished he didn’t serve us. Thankfully my friend who eats meat had the first taste and noticed so the damage was avoided but it was definitely not something I’d expect to see in a pub that seems so high quality in terms of service and food. The bartenders were very nice and patient though!

The Wig & Pen never fails. Went out with friends for a afternoon drinks and a bit of a pub crawl and ended up staying there till close. Brought some drinks and got a seat downstairs. Decided to all eat there too and we are glad we did. The good was amazing, all of us leaving empty plates. We carried on drinking and built a great relationship up with the staff, who were brilliant, friendly and very helpful. They were very busy, but nothing was too much trouble and still had time to laugh and joke with you. We finished the night dancing away till close and all leaving having a very enjoyable day and night. Thanks team Wig & Pen. We have already planned our next night out there in a couple of weeks.

Very poor service waited half an hr for a beer that i ordered on the app and went up to the bar to ask for it but they charged me then as got back to table they bought the origional beer over. As for the food i got the turkey croquttes which was a misurable 2 tiny ones that didnt taste great and the flat iron steak was the worst steak i ever had it was dry and they told me it had been frozen.. i like the pub and though its christmas and was busy still the food was bad. Not likely to go back.
