Have used this Wetherspoons many times, but after today's visit, we will not be returning. We ordered a 'managers special' triple burger with chips which was priced at a reasonable 2.99 only to be told at the bar, that it was a mistake and that it was £2 off... I asked if they would still honor the price but was told no. We decided to go for an American cheeseburger anyway which turned up without cheese... Very disappointing burger with cold chips.

Bargain meals when you're on the go. Great service from the team 👏🏿 It's always a pleasure looking out for the seasonal good beer promotional offers at an average of £1.79 - £1.99 per pint. Free unlimited tea and coffee from a self service station too. Free call taxi service available and adequate disabled toilets and access to the venue. Unfortunately due to location there is no car parking facilities but there is a public car park within immediate walking distance. Keep up the good work of being cheap, cheerful and welcoming!

In to The William Morris this morning for another excellent breakfast. Only £2.14 plus a free refills tea/coffee/hot choc for £1.04 - best value in Oxford. Shame tho’ Wetherspoons method of cooking black pudding is to deep fry which unfortunately means on occasion it ends up a dried out crumbly mess. However, the staff will replace if asked, and it’s usually a tad better second time around. I’ve always found The William Morris staff helpful and courteous, especially Tom, Meghan and Lorna.

This has been a consistently disappointing pub since it opened, so at least I wasn’t surprised. The food, though, is next level bad. Awful. Cheap does not excuse awful. It came to the table just a couple of minutes after I ordered. Literally I sat down and had time to say to my friend that my original choice (and second choice) were unavailable, and it arrived. Way too fast… …and, well… a few cold chips and the most uninspiring burger I’ve ever eaten. I took a photo and it looks properly crap, but the photo flatters it.

The William Morris for New Year breakfast, with two good neighbours. Excellent quality and value for money, the kitchen staff did a great job as usual, and our plates were warm which makes all the difference, a tasty meal can be soon ruined being chilled by a cold plate. Three great breakfasts, plus “bottomless” hot drinks, no other gastro pub in and around Oxford comes anywhere near for value for money. Customers rarely give staff enough credit for all their hard work, we’ve found The William Morris staff most helpful, especially Tom, who has just returned after a nasty ankle injury, who in my experience has a great attitude to the job and whilst very busy is always attentive and courteous.

Fish & Chips Review by Chukka Fish Batter 10/10 Fish 10/10 Chips 9/10 Peas 8/10 Presentation 6/10 Total score 43/50 Don't be fooled by the not so great presentation, this fish and chips is one of the best I've eaten in a long time. The quality of the fish, the batter cooked to perfection, the taste and texture of the chips made this one great meal! Only the peas let it down slightly for me as they were a bit runny, almost soup like. But that would come down to preference so don't let it put you off. Knocked a post off the chips simply because of the quantity, could have done with a few more. The presentation wasn't the best as you can see, but I would rather, a dish not presented perfectly with a perfectly cooked meal than the other way around. Well done chef!

Wetherspoons is always worth a visit and we arranged to meet some friends here on the way back home. There was a drunk man shouting outside so I wasn't sure what to expect but towards the back it was quieter with tables and a couple of families eating there. We ordered a couple of curries and fish and chips, four of us and drinks. It came to just under £30, The curries came without the naans but this was rectified quickly. We had a great conversation and although it was busy at the front with the sports on it was quieter at the back. This is somewhere I would visit again if I was in the area. Great food and service and we were able to hear each other. I love Wetherspoons, and we go regularly for breakfast in Kendal.

Superb staff - especially Stacey, Tom and Callum. A variety of breakfast options are always available. However only one gripe, whilst I appreciate black pudding isn’t everyone’s favourite, as it’s on the menu it should be prepared and served correctly. Unfortunately, the kitchen usually overcooks the black pudding, which becomes shrivelled and hard as it loses its moisture, and/or it’s running with oil from the deep fat fryer ! On the plus side the eggs, the sausages and the other items are usually excellent and with only minimal waiting time. Overall great value for money.

Ordered food and drinks at lunchtime behind the bar and was accompanied by by 19 year old son. When we sat down my son's beer was confiscated because he failed to provide id. The law states that young people from age of 17 can drink alcohol With a meal. Although refunded money refunded the value of the beer to a soft drink, but I felt like the freedom of personal choices were taken away from me and personally felt insulted by the fiasco. From now on I am boycotting the pub for poor policy management. Especially served by younger people who have no Idea of the so-called policies real intentions.

However son was without proof of identity; despite the law stating, if you’re 16 or 17 and accompanied by an adult, you can drink (but not buy) beer, wine or cider with a meal. in addition the servers were no older themselves and when the serve came to confiscated the beer, had poor personal hygiene as smelt of body odour that put the end to my appetite. Hygiene and segregation? We were initially placed into an section where ethnic minorities were the main demographic I asked to sit in the warmer brighter section of the restaurant Where there was plenty of space I saw one of the staff who is a team member pulling the hair of one of his colleagues twisting it around his finger and patting her bun. Our order was then ready and he immediately reached for the plates of food without washing his hands and I had to stop him. went to wash his hands but it was too late. I lost my confidence in the hygiene standards of the restaurant. The manager said that he would speak with the staff. Hopefully the team will learn better lessons. Apparently, hairnets are not required so please look out for hair your food if you go and ensure that they wash their hands!!

We were very disappointed by our visit. The menu looked fabulous but they were out of pretty much everything - and what they did have was sub standard. I am certain the ingredients for the “ploughman’s lunch” was from the supermarket (not a crime but definitely not worth £15). The chef was sitting out the front most of the time which highlighted that they were very low on food in the kitchen. The only plus was the beer was very good. We will not be returning. Such a pity as the place has a lot of potential.
